Good local pub in heart of village. Good beers, friendly service, pool, darts etc. Shows football on to. Across road from Indian restaurant which was handy.

Very local old fashioned pub. Very friendly, drinks very reasonably priced. Large beer garden. Live music at weekends. Pool table and darts available. We didn't have any food

So much fun. Simply excellent. Really friendly staff and locals. Play pool and chat, you'll get a great reception and insight to the Broads and Norfolk in general.

Went for a beer didn’t stay long as a group of lads were quite loud using the odd bit of bad language so I wouldn’t go again, we ended up the road in the Swan which was more relaxing

Unfortunately there was no food available but I can’t fault the pub itself. Very dog friendly, a really nice outside area and extremely nice staff. Very relaxing atmosphere.

What a truly lovely pub to visit Paula the bar lady was so so pleasant and very helpful and made my vist there so comfortable and relaxing the beer garden is great for children with loads of room and the staff go out off their ways to help will definitely be visiting again very soon thanks again , paul and Roxy 07842967732

Lovely welcoming staff and superb service! We came in for a few drinks and games of pool, also put on some great songs on the jukebox! Barmaid Paula was so friendly! Had a fantastic time, would recommend to anyone and everyone!!! 11/10

We visited Loddon on a Sunday so parking in the car park by the memorial was free. After walking through the village towards the river, we decided to stop at this pub for some BBQ food. We sat outside and the kids played in the swing area. They loved this. The garden felt like a sun trap at lunchtime and we ordered various kids and adults meals from the BBQ menu. All were tasty. This included different types of fries, burgers, ribs and baguettes. This place is dog friendly.

If you have a hankering for American style baby back ribs that melt in your mouth or plump juicy chicken wings that are tender and sumptuous...then this is the place for you. Happened across the King's Head on a boating holiday and are so pleased we stopped in. Friendly staff, decent prices, superb out door seating area. May move to Losdon just for this place!

Fantastic friendly Pub. Great outside area with cover. Good venue for live music. Great for family’s and close to the 24 hour moorings. Landlord has done a sterling job making the former car park into an outside seating area with big TV for the sports.

We were moored in Loddon so booked a table at the kings head, they were very friendly and accommodating, food was really well cooked and presented. Would highly recommend. They even cooked some sausages for our dog.

We popped in as we always do when staying in loddon....new people had taken over..and menu didn't appear have lot choice..but then the food appeared..the belly pork melted in mouth with crispy crackling..smooth mash..and green beams..x3 and a hand made pizza..excellent value for money..probably best meal we had on our hols..

Used this for lunch after a dog walk. Really enjoyed the little touches that were on offer such as fresh homemade pizza base. Dog was welcomed and provided with fresh drinking water. Overall, good value for money with large varied menu. Car park currently being used as outdoor eating space to create more socially distanced eating.

By far my favourite pub in Loddon. Great beer (great prices), pool & darts, always a laugh & also now great cooked food! Had a veggie roast here with the family & it was amazing. Homemade nut roast was a bit different and so tasty, also superb cauliflower cheese! Really recommend. ☺️

Me and my family went here to have a Sunday lunch as heard there was a new chef and we weren’t disappointed at all! Myself and my wife had the roast beef and it was one of the best roasts I’ve ever had. Not only did it come with the normal beef which was cooked to perfection, it was topped with brisket which was equally delicious! My 7 year old had a child’s roast chicken and I’ve never seen him devour food so quickly! Portion sizes were also perfect. Can’t wait to go back there.

Do not pass up going into the king's head in Loddon. There is now a new chef and she is amazing. The food is so tasty and affordable, presented perfectly, I love it, I would definately recommend you go and try for yourself. A range of different food burgers, pizzas, fish, etc it all tastes so great, definately if you don't know where to go get down to the king's head in Loddon. You will be amazed. Thank you I will be coming again.

Had seen this pub in passing advertising special Seniors Lunch Special meals some months ago. Went there specially today only to find that they no longer do food. Their loss as we went to a nice pub nearer Norwich instead.

Called for a drink in Easter Monday. They weren't serving food as the chef was off, but the offer was made that we could go to the local takeaway and bring food back to eat there. We sat in the beer garden and did just that. Obviously this wouldn't happen when food was being served and we hope to go back and try their menu on a non bank holiday. Dog friendly and beer garden was child friendly. Beer was good, very friendly atmosphere. We will definitely return.

We Visit the Kings Head quite often as we have a boat moored at Loddon Marina, Always a warm welcome & a good selection of drinks & Pub Food & kids meals at reasonable prices, We had the carvery Sunday very nice .!

Breakfasts are served on the weekends from 11.00 - 12.30 Excellent value for money, quality and very friendly staff.

Was in this village for a get together and was wanting to eat out and someone mentioned this place and the new food menu. Small cosy venue and we were welcomed with a warm greeting and I asked if the food is still on Yes and they offered to open the restaurant or eat in the bar area. We chose to eat in the bar. Food menu was fun to look at and the choices made it hard to choose. Food came out and it looked outstanding and couldn’t wait to tuck in. New chef and new menu Definitely come back againWell done to all the staff at the pub

Do not pass this pub or you will be disappointed. New catering is fantastic. The service from landlord,locals and chef was first class. 1st day of Matty Cs burger shack should not be the last. Best burgers on the Broads.

Never tried the food but a great pint & atmosphere and always made to feel welcome especially being from outside the area. Whenever we call in a boat we always call for a sociable few hours and bar staff always pleasant

A really nice pub with nice friendly staff. Our little boy loved Benny the dog. Great tv for the football. Good selection of beers at a good price.

Had an awesome meal here provided by Paula the Chef. The quality of the food (on a Saturday evening -which was the burger special night) was truely awesome and very enjoyable. Would highly recommend a visit.

The Restaurant has just reopened and if the food is this good every time the place will be a Must Visit for the boating trade and locals alike.

Had a Lovely Roast Yesterday with my family staff were very approachable and attentive and presentation was superb x

This restaurant has just opened under new management and we stopped here, by chance, on the weekend of the launch of their Sunday lunch menu. I chose the roast pork option and had a lovely plate of well cooked meat, with crackling, accompanied by nicely flavoured vegetables and gravy. The host was very friendly and attentive and I would certainly recommend this establishment. At the moment I think food is only on offer at the weekend, so check before you go.

Now this review is not so much about the place but my experience with the landlord.

We called in just for a drink but ended up staying for lunch. We had sandwiches and chips, one of our party had the pie. Everything was was really good and very tasty. The staff were all very nice and friendly

Nos amarrado y entramos a Loddon pase el Kings Head, ya que dicho comida se sirve desde las 12 hasta las 2.30 pm hasta la siguiente miré alrededor como menú resultó caro, entonces decidimos volver a la cabeza de Reyes para preguntar si no cenas, así que de haberlo hecho! ! !

More fine dining than pub, though this excellent establishment has a local clientele who drink at the bar. The beer is well kept and local and the food is excellent.

I came across this pub while on holiday found the pub to be small but busy having a small selection of beers (hand pulls) bar staff very accommodating I enquired about food the landlord directed me to the chef who gave me a menu there is a reasonable amount of choice also does themed nights for food Ashley the chef runs the restaurant side of the pub I found Ahsley very accomadating, we arranged a meal for that night (steak night) met at the door by Ahsley shown to the restruant small room accommodates around 25 places nice decor service at the table for drinks, given plenty of time to order food, came promptly (20 minutes) there were nine in my party seven adults two children, meals came out hot and cooked to everyone's taste Ashley came to check if every things was o k best steak I've had for some time Ahsley informs me that he has only been here for about six months has started lot get regular customers, Ashley informs the group that Saturday's he now does a breakfast club cost (£5.00) per head and (£1.00) for tea or coffee. We returned for breakfast (buffet style) we were not disappointed, everything kept in Bain Marie's so stayed hot Ashley cooked extra food when ordered and served found this to be a nice touch. Oh my word! You're with all the extended family, see a sign for a steak-night but forget to book a table. Turned up too late! Only 3 steaks left so between the nine of us, tried a range of other things on the menu. I tell you! It's very hard to get other family members to agree on anything, but we all agreed that the chef deserved a standing ovation for the quality of the food we were served. And he got one!

Came to Loddon for a holiday and booked the Kings Head for a meal Friday evening for nine of us. We were well looked after and the chef couldn't do enough for us. The food was cooked to perfection and was also very reasonably priced compared to other pubs/restaurants in the area. The restaurant at the back of the pub is really charming and a lovely atmosphere for large family's like ours or couples. Everything Inc toilets were spotless. The waitress was lovely, very friendly and again couldn't do enough for us. We thought the service, quality of food and value was so good we went back for breakfast the next day before our journey home. And again had a lovely meal. X

We enjoyed a delicious turkey lunch at the Kings Head today. It was a "Wednesday Special", provided in the bar, although we could have eaten in the restaurant if we had chosen to. The friendly and efficient service from both the restaurant and bar staff was a delight and we will definitely be returning again.

Cold plates, cold vegetables not many chips. Poor menu, friendly staff but won't be going again expensive for what you get

Visited last week.....the kitchen has just been taken over by a new Chef and Catering CompanyLots of deals on to suit OAPs or Families such as Roast Dinners Curry nights and light bites etcThe Menu is small and not overwhelming which in my opinion is the best thing guaranteeing the quality and freshness of the food......I am not a fan when these establishments go totally over the top and try and do everything all at onceWe had Crab cakes with Asian salad and sweet chilli and the House Burger served in a brioche bun with the usual fries saladTotal bill was approx £13 including drinksThe taste of the food was the best Pub Meal I've had in a long whileThe Chef and his staff were very friendly and accommodatingAll in all very impressed and well worth a visit

Recently visited the new boulevard kitchen in this pub, for breakfast. Simple food, cooked well, self service,amazing value for money at a fiver a head. The staff are lovely, great surrounding, have been twice since!!!!

Arrived for the carvery at 12.00 noon on Sunday 31st May. This was another return visit for the carvery and we were really looking forward to the meal. On previous visits the carvery served food on a all you can eat basis, so when we first put a meal on our plates, we obviously didn't put too much on. Then I went and stood by the unmanned food station to try a meat pie !!! (Yes...meat pie on a £7.50 per head carvery)that was on offer and although I was seen by two of the waiting staff, who could have quietly told me that the new "owner" no longer provided enough food for the all you can eat system. Instead they scurried off for the Chef who had been serving, who then told me himself and that on our previous visits we must have had our meal at the end when all the customers had finished (yet have always booked for 12.00 noon).......how embarrassing, but luckily there was only another eight people eating in the restaurant at the time. So we paid our £7.50 each and left hungry never sadly to return.

Simply perfect, lovely food, fresh vegetables and tender meats, served piping hot. Service was brilliant considering the restaurant was full, I will book next time, loved it....

Took my partner to the Kings head today and as we walked in the smell of food was delicious. We went and sat in the restaurant and and the young girl came over and was very polite. She took our drink and food order. We went up to the carvery and the chef was very friendly and asked what meat we would like then we helped ourselves to a lovely choice of veg roast and Yorkers. We sat and the taste of the food was delicious. We both cleared our plates. We will be returning to the Kings head restaurant very soon. 2 VERY happy customer s. Keep up the hard work

Visited king head today for lunch with my family. The waitress was really friendly and gave us great service. Food was really nice to. On ordering food, my kids are quite fussy but after talking to the chef he sorted out a great meal for them. And they ate the lot which is very usual. Will definitely be visiting again. And will be recommending to family and friend. Well done to all the staff at the kings head

We popped into the Kings head to find a new chef had taken over the kitchen by the name of catering boulevard, being slightly apprehensive of a change, all 6 in our party placed our order and to be honest we where all blown away by the quality and presentation of the food that we received the service we received was excellent to. Not normally one to leave reviews I felt it was only right to praise our fantastic meal, served piping hot and quite simply delicious, even the fussy pair of our group where impressed and that is rare believe me. You must give this place a try you won't be disappointed we will certainly be back well worth the drive,

We were on the way home and looking for somewhere ( not a chain) to have dinner. We decided to stop in Loddon at The Kings Head. The moment we stepped in the door we were made to feel very welcome and soon settled to read the menu. We chose a sharing platter as a starter between three of us. Followed by chef's fish pie x 2 and a pan fried salmon with vegetables. Everything is freshly prepared and accordingly we had a small wait. But it was so worth waiting for! It looked good, tasted even better and more than enough for 3. The fish pie was piping hot and the roast potatoes gorgeous. None of us could finish them all. We had no room for dessert, such ad shame. But I'm looking forward to our next visit which I am sure will be soon. Oh and the price was very reasonable, we will definitely be back.

Another fab meal had here yesterday, the steak and ale pie was perfect and so tasty. Even my fussy 3 year old thought so.

This is an excellent place to have a meal in loddon, I have tried the buffet breakfast, the 3 course steak meal and a lunch time burger. Each visit was very impressive and the restaurant is lovely and relaxing. Will definitely be back next week

I have used the Kings Head since the closure of my local. I find the landlord and all his staff both happy and helpful. Always a good range of beers and lagers. The newly recreated and enlivened restaurant has to be used to ne believed. The variety and quality of the food coming exceptional. out of the kitchen

We had heard the buzz in the local area about the refurbished and recently re-opened restaurant at the Kings Head so decided to give it a try last weekend. The all you can eat buffet breakfast at £5 per head certainly didn't disappoint - the quality, locally-sourced sausages and bacon were great, the black puding and fried bread equally good. To top it all the service was welcoming and very friendlyWe'll be back!Recommended.

I recently visited The Kings Head, the restaurant had just 're opened and has been tastefully decorated out, that very weekend I was there they were doing a breakfast buffet all you can eat for £5 !!! Was very impressed with it food was hot and freshly cooked sausages were proper sausages not cheap nasty ones !.Shame I was returning to Spain the following day as I would have loved to have tried the Sunday carvery maybe next time.

I'm a bit of a traditionalist when it comes to pub's. I like a good selection, a warm place to sit and read the paper and a laugh with the the bar staff. All of which I recieved on my recent visit to The Kings Head.The bar area is comfortable, relaxing and also a bit quirky. With lots of memrobilia in various locations of the place its actually an interesting place to enjoy a pint. The staff behind the bar were friendly, helpful and said please and thankyou each time I got served. The landlord seemed well known to the locals and also had a good knowledge of the area which is always a plus for me when visiting somewhere new.I didn't try the food as I'd just eaten, but the aroma from the kitchen made me regret eating before arriving, must remember that for next time. :)All in all, a traditiional, clean and friendly pub/restaurant and one I'd like to visit again.

The restaurant has been refurbished to an excellent standard, looks very relaxing and comfortable.The food is freshly prepared and cooked / presented immaculately, no negative criticisms necessary.The breakfast served between 9am-11am on both Saturday and Sunday is an absolute bargain at £5-00 per head - eat as much as you wish i.e. no restrictions on anything!!

What an absolutely fabulous pub!This is what we call a pub and not a wine bar or complete dive. We are a fantastic meal service was quick and with a smile! A friendly atmosphere and lots of friendly faces. I would say the best in loddon and I would choose this over any other pub or wine bar in loddon! Well done for all the hard work and keep it up! I love a good breakfast and The Kings Head didn't disappoint with " all you can eat for a fiver " it was lovely . Freshly cooked sausages, bacon and perfect fried eggs my partner and I would highly recommend and will go again soon. The staff were excellent and very friendly and nothing was to much trouble .

Visited the pub twice during our mooring at Loddon.First to recce the place, and get some well-earned refreshments. Adnams Lighthouse and Morland Old Golden Hen were consumed with relish. The pub looks a little tired and dated on the inside, but outside was being decorated as we visited, so possibly a work in progress. Traditional old English pub, certainly. Friendly staff.On the evening we returned for something to eat (and drink; Woodfordes Wherry had now made an appearance) and found the helpful and chatty chef in the bar. He explained that the restaurant and pub were separate entities, but it wasn't a problem with either ordering or payment.Scampi, chips and peas were the order of the day for me (£7.95) which were very nice. Followed by a delicious white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake (£4.95). Really flavoursome, well prepared and presented food providing excellent value for money. My eating companion for the evening said his steak was "done to perfection, the best I've had"... high praise indeed!The only downside to my evening was that the table we chose to sit at was directly opposite one of the front windows. Not normally an issue, but on this particular night, just after our mains were served, the curtains closed. A large projector screen made it's silent way down over the former window and an excellent quality picture came into view. The opening ceremony and full first match of the World football cup was played out just 8 feet in front of us on a screen that any cinema would have been proud of! On a matter of principle, I did not move. After a few more pints and a stiff neck, we walked back across the field to our awaiting boat. Well fed and watered.
