Kings Coffee Shop in Dover

We decided after walking around the town and seafront to visit this cafe for a light snack for lunch. The food here is very good with an excellent menu serving up various dishes . Today we went for sandwiches and a panini , these come with a side salad . Staff are very friendly and the food is good value for money.

I'd been meaning to try this one for a wile but it's not always open when we're in Deal so when it was we took our chance. It looks like something from the 1950s, all ornate windows and old style menus. We loved it - the food, drinks and service were all great. Plenty of choice too.

Traditional independent cafe with super owners and staff. Excellent bacon and tomato panini, toasted teacakes, sandwiches and coffee. Filled with regulars who are well looked after and visitors welcomed. We always go in when we are in Deal, so much better than “chain” coffee shops!

After a long afternoon midweek walk on the coast at Deal, we came back into town and saw that Kings Coffee Shop was open and still serving. We were met by a gracious lady and ordered two great varied toasties and coffees. Just what we needed! Loved the whole place particularly the old shop and Deal photos on the wall plus the fantastic mini ski resort with actual working ski lift. Touched our cheeky hearts. Will definitely go again on our next visit to Deal. Thank you 😊

Food was cooked fresh and in good time, tasted really good. Staff were very friendly and the atmosphere vibes were great. Dog was welcomed!

A real old fashioned Italian coffee shop, very good food and service. We loved it. Really good value as well.

We have been coming here for years, either as a couple or with family. It is a fantastic cafe, with a wide range of food and drink, brilliant staff and excellent service. If i could I would probably have lunch there every day.

We highly recommend this place. We are three adults and two kids and we absolutely loved our late lunch here today after a long walk along the seafront. The food was excellently presented, with generous portions and it was delicious. Such good value too. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. There was a lovely warm atmosphere and we can't wait to visit again to work our way through more of the menu. Thanks very much kings cafe.

First the staff are friendly and the breakfast we had was lovely and very good value for money at the price it was a bargain. would highly recommend if in Deal Kent.

We had to. Is it Deal on a mission then came to this coffee shop for a bite to eat . The menu had various options but we decide to go for the all day breakfast with tea for £ 6:95 each what a bargain. Our food was hot when served and I will let the photo tell the story. Great value and would visit again,lovely helpful staff too.

Called in for a drink and rest, ordered drinks and cakes. Venue clean and tidy, staff friendly and food ok. Worrying point, we were seated by counter and on watching a member of staff making up a baguette, was surprised to see her not wearing blue gloves. She used tongs to pick up the ingredients, but then put her hands all over the contents. She was using brie and a tiny piece fell on the board, she used one finger to scoop it up, and then stuck her finger into the baguette to put this scrap in. Glad I didn't order this item. No evidence of the staff washing their hands regularly.

It took but a peek through the door of this cafe to know that it would be something special. The atmosphere of this eatery is absolutely perfect. The beautifully simple decor has not changed in years, and it feels like the prices haven’t either. We were greeted with warm and friendly smiles that were shortly followed by generous plates of delicious fried breakfast items and wonderfully brewed black coffee. This place made me very happy :)

Popped in for a coffee, got led astray by the cake section, its good . Good quality coffee , with a nice selection , prices good too. The staff were really friendly , takig time to chat , none of this service by rote you find in the chains

It's been here years as the lovgly pictures inside illustrate. Its great for snacks, tea coffee and breakfasts. Very popular and a great place to sit in the window and people watch. Lovely staff and great value.

Family old skool cafe and really great value for money. Had an apple pie and custard, Danish pastry and a pot of tea for two and was only £8-£9. Family run and friendly.

We have been here countless times because of the relaxed atmosphere, range of food and wonderful staff. For obvious reasons it can get crowded, but the staff are always on their toes. You never have to wait long for food even when it's crowded. Incredible...

Third visit to this cafe as my partner is gluten intolerant and they do an excellent choice of GF meals and deserts. The staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble.

Had lunch here with my husband. Staff were lovely and friendly, food was lovely, tables cleaned very quickly. No complaints, will definitely be visiting again.

I work a couple of shops down from kings coffee shop and always get my lunch from there . The food is always on point and the service is amazing . Keep up the good work . Highly recommended

We popped into King's coffee shop in Deal. Great staff and excellent no nonsense inexpensive food all served with style. This cafe is a real gem and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting this beautiful seaside town.

Popped in to get take away ice creams and a drink. Cakes looked amazing. Very good value compared to other seaside coffee houses and friendly service. Would definitely use again.

I often go for places with simple menus on the basis that there is more chance that what they do have, they do well. So it was proven here where all of us thoroughly enjoyed the jacket potatoes and pasta dishes. Friendly service as well.

Had brunch here with friends. What we had was okay. I can see the attraction of this place. Friendly service and very inexpensive. However the food we had was pretty average but I suppose good value as we had a very cheap brunch. What I would do personally is eat elsewhere for about twice the price and have better quality. For instance the antipasti was only £4.95 including a warm roll. Very inexpensive but I’d prefer to spend more and get better. Maybe I’m being too fussy because at the end of the day this place is a cafe and doesn’t pretend to be anything else.

Having read the many excellent reviews of Kings Coffee Shop, I was looking forward to visiting. However, I will never go back.Upon entering, I was stared at and no welcome was given. When I tried to place an order, the staff member kept saying they couldn't understand me. I kept repeating my order but they kept saying they couldn't understand me. I'm black but I'm British, English is my first language and I speak with an English accent. I felt humiliated. They were so rude that I just left. It's a shame.Thankfully the Pop Up Cafe less than a minute's walk away was lovely.

We stumbled across this place after walking through Deal to find somewhere that just does normal food for two fussy children, and we were so glad we found it.Amazing service, friendly staff, excellent hygiene and social distancing and great food. The milkshakes were really good too.We will definitely be back.

We have tea and cake after a long beach walk and it so hit the spot. Carrot cake and apple pie (hot with custard was divine. Served with a smile and excellent value for money.

We were in a Deal early for a specific reason and once finished we decided to try this coffee house for a traditional breakfast at £5:95 each with a drink . We had a pot of tea between us and easily had two cups each. When the breakfast came out we were amazed of how you you got . The staff were well presented and very pleasant and helpful. Visited for brunch and was very pleased we did. Lots on offer and plenty of choice for children. Would highly recommend the antipasti. Very reasonably priced, would def return again.

Other reviews say this is the best café in Deal, so it's little surprise to find it coping efficiently with Covid-19 restrictions. Plenty of tables, well spaced, staff wearing masks, tables cleaned between each customer, sanitiser available, screen at the cashdesk, clean loos. Add to that the speedy service and interesting cake selection (and, from what we saw, the snacks looked good, too), and this becomes the ideal spot to break out of lockdown.

Well I was not disappointed, it's been 3 years since I was last in the UK & visited the coffee shop, the staff are still friendly, the food is still delicious & the coffee is still top notch, nice to see some things don't change.

Popped in for a light bite , very happy with the choice of food. Service is definitely done with a smile. Allowed us in with dogs which was a real treat. Will definitely use this place again.

We have visited Kings on many occasions and experienced their unswerving detail of quality service, The staff are all committed to the delivery of excellent service with good humour and professionalism. The level of cleanliness is second to none however busy they are WELL DONE

Such a comfortable atmosphere, very welcoming staff and lovely food at very reasonable prices. Came here 3 times on a 4 day break - that says it all. Also dog friendly which was a major bonus for us.

Always warm & friendly with a varied menu. The food is well presented and the staff are always helpful and cheerful, this is why it is such a lovely place for families. They also have toys and books for children to play with to keep them occupied.....

On our trip round the Kent coast,we stopped at Deal and enjoyed a nice stroll round the town, we stopped here for a coffee,and of course a wee cake, they looked just delicious, and they were.

In Deal for a couple of hours primarily to visit the castle, we wandered around the shops and settled on this place as somewhere to have a snack and drink. The ambiance is sort of 50's Italian coffee house with the unusual twist of a model cable car running across above the dining area as well as a cross channel hot air balloon model suspended from the ceiling. I have a drink and a toasted cheese and peppers sandwich, the peppers were not the most flavourful, possibly from a jar, but altogether not bad. The balloon was further explained by a poster in the gents toilet which displayed the first cross channel balloon flight in 1785, so not only was my stomach nourished, but I learned something too.

Visited today for coffee which was excellant. Very reasonably priced, all of the food looked delicious. Its a cosy place and the staff work really hard to keep people happy.

Nothing to fault here and part of Deal's fabric. This place is never empty because everybody in Deal knows that the hardworking charming proprietors can't do enough for you. Christmas is really special with the fantastic decorations. Cafes come and go but this is a keeper.

At the bottom of the Town's bus "Terminus". It's appeared to be one of the old style Italian Family Coffee shops, with reasonably priced meals too, I would say the clienteles is either the older generation or young mums and their kids, don't let that put you off, coffee and service was very pleasant.

We stumbled upon this coffee shop having walked out of both Costa and Starbucks in disgust at the state of the dirty tables and floor. Kings Coffee Shop was very welcoming, clean, quirky and the food and drinks were excellent!

It's been a few months since I ate here but today meal was a baked potato with chilli. The order was politely taken and although busy the meal was nicely prepared, the staff polite and the ambience pleasant.

Great cafe in Deal. On the hunt for a fry up I found this place and was not disappointed. Extremely friendly and engaging staff made me feel, visiting by myself, very welcome. Coffee was delicious and the English Breakfast was 10/10 and at a really good price. Americano and a breakfast with an extra sausage for less than £7. Keep up the great work!

A real family coffee shop where nothing is too much trouble. Proprietors have books and toys for children and at Christmas have a great display of moving Christmas scenes and figures. Very clean and friendly staff.

We visit Deal every other Saturday and try to get a seat in the premises. Always busy and vey popular. Very friendly staff and very well presented food. My only observation is that there appears to be be more tables and navigation is difficult!

A small coffee shop which has large windows around main and front of shop which gives it a light airy place. Service quick by pleasant staff. Welcomed as we went in to find a table.

We visited here on Monday it was so hot but the air con in the coffee shop was really cool, there’s a good range of food to choose from the staff were extremely friendly, even brought our drinks to the table, would definitely return! Friendly coffee shop better than the chains like Starbucks. We always enjoy local independent small businesses who do food and tea/coffee cheaper than Starbucks. Much better atmosphere. Good snacks and lunch.

I love it in there, it’s just nice to pop in on my way back from the shops or to the shops , there is a cash machine directly opposite. Staff are very friendly ,there is always somewhere to sit. Nice family run business ,not a chain!!

Really good menu to choose from, fast service, extremely polite, food was piping hot and they were very busy at the time we visited. We had two coffees and two snacks and I was very pleasantly surprised at the cost - extremely good value for money.

We came to this lovely spot twice on our recent stay in kent and absolutely loved everything about it...from high chairs and toys for our kids to the food and the lovely owners ...would recommend this place for breakfast and lunches alike...very good paninis and fry ups.
