Breakfast a let down. Dry and tastless

Came and sat outside. My first visit. I ordered throught the QR code as I had the over excited puppy with me. Fast service and the 2 girls that served me was very friendly. The lady did say dogs are welcomed inside and they offer a doggy menu. Which i love the idea of. Lovely outdoor area. Thank you for making me feel so welcomed.

Linzi was spot on, very friendly and attentive waitress!

Came for carvery on a bank holiday. Can’t fault the food nice homemade flavours and a decent thick gravy, lovely atmosphere and served by Linzi who was very attentive

Called in by chance and sat in the evening sunshine. The food looked so good we decided to order. Surf and turf was amazing, steak was perfectly cooked. However, what made our visit so lovely was the friendly staff. Our waitress Imogen was lovely and very helpful. Very positive experience and hope to visit again with our little dog.

The staff were very polite and helpful. The drinks were made fast and food was ordered promptly. I was given some seating that was in a little nook which was great. The food then came out very fast and was nice and hot still. Everything tasted very nice. The staff came over to check that everything was to my satisfaction and afterwards the plates were cleared fast. I was also given the option of ordering some pudding or more drinks which I did. Overall my experience was great and the food was fantastic. I will definitely be coming here again.

Lovely food ,hot and tasty . Some of the seating could do with replacing as the vinyl was ripped. Overall very good visit including the service .

Usually call on a Monday morning for a coffee after been on a walk with my dog. All the staff are very friendly and always meet us with a smile they always make you feel welcome. A.W.

The King's Chamber is my friend and I's go to place to relax, play some cards with a drink and get a bite to eat. The staff are all very friendly and attentive to keeping the table clear of plates that are finished with. And Rianna always comes by to see which one of us is winning the card game we're playing

I recently visited your restaurant and, unfortunately, my experience was not as pleasant as I had hoped. Several menu items, including the carvery and fish, were out of stock, which was disappointing. The curry Madras came with a naan bread that was not warm, and the curry itself was not to my taste, with the beef pieces being quite tough. Additionally, one of the burgers was overcooked. The cutlery provided was also of lower quality than expected. Overall, there were several areas that could be improved to enhance the dining experience.

Another great stay... Shame we can't fit the mattress off the bed into the car as really comfortable. Excellent breakfast as usual Full Works with fried bread.

Went mid afternoon for carvery good choice of vegetables with turkey, ham, or beef for meat choice, nice meal and excellent pint of Gunness

We come nearly every Sunday except when working, always made to feel welcome. The environment is warm and welcoming, the staff are always happy to help. We’ve been coming 7 years and couldn’t think of a better place to have Sunday lunch.

It's not the tastiest food, but it's certainly not bad either. Staff are always friendly and service is usually pretty quick. Pretty standard for a chain!

A surprise family 'Mother's day' treat for me. A party of 11 and we were attended to by Linzi. She was absolutely brilliant, attentive, courteous and just...fabulous a real credit to you.

Good service from friendly staff. Busy whilst not packed on a late ish tea time which made a good atmosphere. Food was good and empty plates a result. Will go again.

I came for the first time with my parents. We ordered off the lunch menu at 8.99 for mains. They had fish and chips which was adequate I had the vegan chilli. I struggled to see it! In a tiny enamel dish and that was only half full, so paid £9 for a spoonful of chilli with approx 10 chips and some nachos. They also gave me plain tonic water when I had asked for elderflower! Not a positive experience

We had a birthday party and all the food was great we had great service and we will be back again would highly recommend great night thanks.

Linz was mint, a bull came charging through, pissed off with the weather no doubt and she spin kicket it, whist pouring me a cold pint of san Miguel. Was class, had to be there.

Overpriced, nothing special warranting the price. Had weekday carvery which tasted like leftovers from previous day. Sadly won't be returning

It’s been a very long time since I’ve been down to kings chamber as I don’t live locally. Was part of a party, I asked this lovely girl that worked there (Alyx) to see if she would come and take all of our orders as it was so much easier that way. She was so polite and her customer service was amazing, very friendly and professional. She went above and beyond to give us the best service possible and I’ve never felt more comfortable. Had a very lovely evening celebrating with friends and family, would definitely recommend coming here for parties as well as just food. Will definitely be coming back through the year and will definitely be booking again for other parties. Thank you

Great pub, great food. Staff are very friendly and welcoming and the quiz is great on a Thursday night! Tim is the best landlord and is always friendly and welcoming. He really makes sure he caters for families and is always organising events and themes for the quiz, it's these little touches that make it extra special and makes the kings chamber a great pub to visit. Shannon is fantastic and brought me extra burger sauce and she has amazing table service and an amazing attitude nothing is too much trouble. She’s an asset to the team ☺️

Excellent atmosphere. Bingo wednesday was brilliant. Small carvery drink dessert and bingo ticket costed me £14.95. lots of meat and veg on offer was brilliant

Took the kids out for a meal here last night and it succeeded my expectations. The carvery just.... wow the meals were amazing the people where do polite will be definitely be going here again.

Very nice food and welcoming pub, with a lovely open plan. Had a very filling fish and chips and my wife had a full bowl of nachos with chicken. The only thing stopping this from being a 5-Star review was after discussing getting a cake at the table with the server, we decided to go up and take advantage of the 2 for £9 offer, with the idea of having one with coffees and take the other one home in the box. While I understand the deal was to take them home rather than have them at the table, which reduces cleaning up and washing a couple of plates, there's still the expense of the boxes themselves to consider. We decided to leave the cakes as two slices would now be £13.98. considering we would have bought two coffees with these and had already spent £40 on food, some flexibility would have been welcomed here.

I really enjoyed my visit here, I have been twice inside a week. It's a lovely place visually both inside and out and the staff are friendly and accommodating, it's nice to just sit with a drink and enjoy peace and quiet when you're on your own. Will definitely be a regular visitor now.

Second visit was not nice like the first one! Unfortunately it started with paying a cider that they didn’t have for long time or never like a team member said. They didn’t offer me to refund neither the difference price of my second choice cider. As a main I had Steak&Ale pie which was pale as undercooked and soggy. Definitely I prefer the Steak&Ale pie that I bought at coop and cooked myself. It was that not nice that my appetite was gone and didn’t neither fancy a free pudding after it (maybe offer to take it away?!) About the bill, I still paid the pie even if I only tasted it twice but didn’t eat it at all. Which I think management could do better. This are my suggestions of improvements: -update the app! And offer at least the difference of prices to the guest before they ask you! -do main checks! This is crucial to know if guest is happy with the meal and can be proactive to solve a problem! -please chefs check your cooking time for Steak&Ale pie! As a starter I had prawn cocktail which was nice, salad really crunchy! I would do the upgrade to toast the bread on side. Hope this is helpful for you!

One of the few places in the area that do veggie and vegan meals at a reasonable price. Atmosphere not bad at all. Amazed how quiet it is on a Friday evening Update 12/11/2022: Struggled to find a veggie meal that was available and I fancied. A bit disappointing.

The staff are always friendly and happy to help anyway they can. The food is excellent, I haven’t had a bad meal yet and we have been going at least 3 times a month for the past 6 years.

Honestly had to change from a 5 start to 1 start it’s gone down hill - the size portions are shocking ordered a started Mac and cheese with pull pork for it to be smaller then a hand for the price it’s shocking not even worth £3! It’s over priced and disappointing with the same and money spent went with family spent over £90 for 4 meals ! So disappointing - the prices have gone up and ain’t worth the price specially when the food is only heated up via microwaves

We booked the night before and stayed over. It was half way on our trip up north. The room was comfortable and the staff were friendly. We enjoyed a nice breakfast in the morning and drinks the evening we arrived.

Absolutely diabolical!! Me and my mother went to get a nice carvery and a few drinks after a hard days work, we had been looking forward to this as we had not had a carvery in ages. When we arrived, we were shown to a table that was very inaccessible (ive just had surgery and am on crutches) and hard to get sat down at due to me being non-weight bearing. When we did finally get sat down, my mother went and ordered the carvery’s and our drinks. I got a pint of Diet Coke that was extremely under filled (about half full) and my mother got a pint of beer that was flat. My mother then got up and went to the carvery area with the tickets when’re she was queuing for about 10 minutes all because there was no chef to be seen. When the chef finally arrived, she said what meats we wanted (she got beef and turkey, I got pork and turkey) and the beef was extremely dry, we got hardly any meat and what we thought was the pork I got was just a clump of fat, with no meat to be seen. We also got the veg which was also horrible with the mash being the only nice thing. The roast potatoes were grainy, hard and cold. The carrots were like sludge and the cabbage was soggy and watery. This was a horrible experience and we will not be coming back again!

All staff friendly and accommodating every time we have a meal. Imogen was a very polite, smiley attentive waitress a credit to the Kings Chamber. Food is always of good quality. No complaints at all.

Used the pub as a base while conducting phone interviews. Used the table order app, very effortless and efficient. Drinks were good value and tasty

Stayed overnight with work it was really good. The rooms were immaculate and comfortable. The bar staff were really friendly aswell as was the check in desk .Nothing was a problem.

I take my family here regularly for a Sunday meal, the carvery is always of decent quality though myself and the grandchildren usually eat a meal off the menu which is a good option for those not wanting a carvery.

The service was above notch and was a second away. Ladies had heart and soul on us and made sure we had the best lunch. It was a great meal to top up the first class service. Good advertising of new menu that was to start nxt day

Even bigger Gluten Free options available now, impressed. We had a lovely carvery, allowed to sit where we needed to be. Vinnie the chef was fab, staff funny, polite, professional.

We both enjoyed our carvery meal. The man who was serving the meat and Yorkshire puddings was extremely polite and efficient.

Always clean, always friendly, always lovely food. The best loaded fries ever too.
