What a fantastic find this was! Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and EXCEPTIONAL food, in quality and value. I would go so far as saying this is the best 'pub grub' we have had. Lisa in the kitchen, take a bow!

Felt a bit peckish at lunchtime before visiting Mousehole FC. Cheese and pickle sandwich and a Diet Coke, £15.05! Daylight robbery. Give it a miss, rip off.

We booked a table for a birthday celebration of a family member. When we arrived the ‘warm welcome’ was definitely an added extra not afforded to us! Not a smile to be seen anywhere. We were taken through to the restaurant where tables needed to be rearranged to accommodate us, despite the booking having been made a week or so in advance. We placed our drinks order then shortly after, our food orders. Our food arrived quickly and was delicious. No sign of our drinks. We waited a while, hoping to raise a toast with our drinks before we ate, but still no sign of any drinks. We started to eat, as the food was getting cold, hoping the drinks would arrive shortly. But no. As we were getting towards the end of our meal, with no sign of the missing drinks, we began to wonder if the drinks order had been mislaid or confused with another table’s order. I went to find out and asked the lady who works behind the bar the curly hair. She barked at me, very loudly “we’re very busy, you know”. There was no recognition that we’d almost finished our food. No recognition that by now it was 40 minutes since we ordered the drinks. And no understanding that a simple polite answer is a better way of speaking to people. The drinks arrived shortly after, 45 minutes after they were ordered. I could see they were busy. I could understand there might be a wait for food and drinks, and that wasn’t so much of a problem. However the rudeness shown by the bar server really let the pub down. A real shame, as not only was I extremely upset by the incident, the customers around who overheard her comment also looked shocked. We will be giving this one a miss next time, a real shame as I always used to recommend it to visiting friends and family.

What a great pub. Worth the steep walk up the hill from Mousehole. Starters were tasty and both the fish and chips and chicken curry were good portions and good value. The cherry Bakewell pudding was gorgeous. Seems that better value , excellent food and service is worth the walk

A lovely Pub with a warm welcome. The food was first class. You could tell the ingredients used were all fresh. I had lasagne and my husband had the mixed grill.

What better way to spend a Saturday night whilst traveling in Cornwall than to have dinner at the Kings Arms in Paul. A terrific meal was had by all - fantastic choice of fish dishes plus great steak. We particularly loved the 80s soundtrack playing and the wonderful service by Alannah (who really should come and visit Melbourne one day!). Great food and friendly staff - definitely worth a visit.

We really enjoyed our visit to The Kings Arms.The food was of good standard and the staff (Jordan and Jamie) were friendly and polite.

Wonderful pub all round - the food is fresh and delicious and the rooms are beautifully removated/far more luxurious than you'd expect to find at a pub! And the gin menu...to die for! Staff all very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Special shout out to Alannah and Will!

The steak and ale pie was delicious and perfect after a long day. The service was quick and all the staff were friendly and more than happy to share local knowledge.

Visited for food when on short break in Mousehole the food and service was really good the pub is much improved from when we visited a few years ago would highly recommend super service from Jamie. Would like to stay in accomodation some time in future Mousehole is a lovely place and the village of Paul is ideal for visiting especially mousehole football club!

We booked a table at The Kings Arms as it was in the village where we were staying and we knew we would want something local after our 380 mile drive to Cornwall. When I phoned to book the guy was very friendly, I told him we would have two dogs with us and he said that was fine. When we arrived we were shown to the public bar area and given a choice of tables. We had a few drinks - amazing selection of gins and my husband said the beer was superb - before we ordered our meal. The staff were attentive, friendly and incredibly polite, especially Jamie who was our waiter for the evening. He brought our drinks and when we told him we wanted to wait a little while before ordering he told us to just let him know when we were ready.

Really great service from both barman and waiter Mac and Jamie friendly but not intrusive. Felt welcome immediately gave details of specials available and times for evening food and breakfast.

Since first visiting in 2014, the staff has changed a lot, the most drastic shift being when the pub changed hands a couple of years ago. Since then, the quality of food has dramatically improved, with the staff maintaining their excellence. One staff member in particular, Jamie, has made visiting here a real pleasure. He's genuinely interested in is and is always happy to take orders with a smile and make to a joke. The service was friendly and professional, the meal was delicious and the atmosphere was fantastic. Keep it up!

The atmosphere is very familiar. The servants are kind and professional. Every day there is a special meal of really good quality.

What a great place. Friendly staff and great beer and a game of frisbee! What more can you ask for. Great menu on display, great choice of gins, beers and everything else.

Three of our family had a late lunch here and were really pleased with the service from Mac, and in particular the wonderful food. I had fish and chips which was excellent, the fish was caught that day so really fresh and the batter was amazingly non greasy, crispy and a thin coating which did not detract from the fish (the chef was happy to write down his recipe for me!) My mum had a meat pie which was packed with a rich meaty filling and a good selection of vegetables and my sister in law had plaice with vegetables which was also good quality and tasty. The food has greatly improved since new ownership, as has the decor, and I would have no hesitation in recommending the Kings Arms as a great place to eat and enjoy a drink.

Impressive fast service and excellent food, both for adults and children. Friendly staff too. Have been to this pub for years and the new, fresh decor is a great improvement.

Quite often when a venue is given an facelift it tends to be a sort lived effect and we the customer forget just how good it was. Well in the case of the kings arms at Paul it has turned a dark slightly oppressive pub into a brighter more welcoming atmosphere ( that’s not to say that it wasn’t welcoming before although the previous landlord did have a tendency to be a little cornish mizzle) it is true that a new broom sweeps clean. Not only is it a more welcoming venue but it’s menu whilst it’s not only reasonable but it also offers 5 vegetarian dishes, yes my fellow vegetarians it’s not a misprint I said 5 that’s 3 on it’s regular menu and 2 on their specials. Now you could be forgiven for thinking that their offerings for vegetarians whilst plentiful might be run of the mill, well you would be happily wrong (I hope) my wife enjoyed the nut roast with a pepper sauce a very tasty offering although I have to say it needed the sauce (more please) as solo it’s a little dry. I picked one of the specials and what I triumph well done chef I really enjoyed the 3 bean, leek & celery Kiev that came with salad and coleslaw now if I had to be ultra critical I thought it was a little dark, but in fairness I hadn’t eaten this dish before so it may well have been it’s normal colours, but the flavour was exceptional the blended beans along with the celery and leek made for a very flavoursome combination also allowing for it to be shaped before being panayed & fried, we then both enjoyed the molten chocolate cake, not to be confused with a fondant , it was rich and chocolatey yummyness in a bowl along with the great food they also keep a good tribute ale keep it up I’m so sorry I didn’t take any pictures of the food ‍♂️

Ate here finally after saying we would try it one day and we we quite impressed. Didn't book and had no problem getting a table. Staff were friendly and quite fun which was nice. Not a huge menu which was actually a nice change as we think there can be too much at times. Food was Fresh, delicious and good value. Lovely house Shiraz but my bubbles Sauvignon Blanc was not the best he has ever had. Having said that we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and evening. Great little village pub/restaurant.

Eat here most nights of our holiday and found it very good. The steak was really good and the Sunday lunch was to die for. The young waitress who served us was very nice and welcoming. We decided to spend our last night here. My husband and daughter ordered the steak which again they said was very good. I ordered the herb crust hake. It came swimming in some sort of sauce that looked curdled. The fish was unseasoned and the dish was very bland and not worth the money. We then ordered the chocolate fudge cake to share. This never came. The staff were too busy chattering with the locals. We got up, paid the bill and I informed the lady behind the bar that we were paying, but the sweet never came, to which she replied, oh it's been put on the bill .I will have to take it off. Then I got a rather offish "sorry". She couldn't have careless. We had spend quite a lot of money in this pub over the week that that's the service we got. Very hurt. Very disappointed as it was good. If this had of happened of our first visit we definitely wouldn't have gone back. To the lady behind the bar, SORT YOUR ATTITUDE OUT LOVE. WITHOUT US CUSTOMERS YOU WOULDN'T HAVE A JOB

Having been to The Kings Arms twice before and having a reasonable experience, we thought we would return. We turned up soon after 5.00pm and as we walked in the person behind the bar was telling other customers that they were unlikely to get a meal as they had a film night. We decided to have a drink and see what was going on but after witnessing the member of staff sniffing continuously and obviously under the weather, we had second thoughts. In our opinion he should not have been working with food or drink in the state he was. Our concerns were confirmed when another member of staff turned up and left his shoes on the bar before going outside for a cigarette. Sad to see what was once a decent pub, go downhill.

I went here 4 years on my holiday and had a fab evening there, with joyful stuff and good food. Remembering that, I wanted to go again. Should have left out this experience.

My husband and I ate here early on a Saturday evening before going to a concert across the road in Paul Church. They were busy and we had a longish wait before the food arrived. However, the staff were pleasant and our drinks arrived quickly. The place appears to have changed hands; they are now playing music. Our main complaint was the quality of the food. My husband ordered the special, called "Hunter's Chicken". This turned out to be, not the stew with mushrooms etc that one might have expected, but one chicken breast, with some bacon and cheese on top, accompanied by some coleslaw (??) and a basic little salad -- at £14, plus £3 for a side order of chips (which were nice). I had the chicken Caesar salad, which was a large pile of mostly whole Cos lettuce leaves, with some bits of chicken -- OK-ish, but one expects a little more finesse at that price.

My wife and I were in the Penzance area on vacation and were driving near Mousehole looking for a place for dinner in the pouring rain. Driving in Cornwall is a challenge (especially for an American) and the pouring rain did not help. We stopped in The Kings Arms because of the large car park. We did not have a reservation and the staff were great in accommodating us for dinner. The food was lovely, service outstanding, friendly staff, and great environment. My wife and I would happily stop in here, again, for a meal!!!

Had a couple of family meals here whilst on holiday lovely fresh cooked food at a good price , nice selection of beers and gins too, staff were all very attentive and friendly

Visitamos el Kings Arms dos veces en el espacio de una semana. El propietario no reconocía ni una vez. El personal era descansado hasta el punto de ser grosero. Esperamos más de una hora para la comida en la primera visita. El personal no comprobar si estábamos contentos con nuestra comida y en un momento un miembro de personal vino con McDonalds en una caja que pasó al otro lado de la barra. ! ! En la primera visita de un miembro del personal nos trajo a través de la zona de comer una bayoneta que tenía claro algunos excrementos solía montar desde el estacionamiento y tomamos la bayoneta a través de la zona de la cocina! ! ! Hay una necesidad de la administración a sus empleados para servir y también a los clientes al menos reconocer su no - tristemente son todos locales

Ci siamo recati in questo Pub Ristorante passando casualmente sulla strada e siamo subito rimasti conquistati dalla presenza esterna. Una volta entrati siamo stati subito accolti con grande gentilezza, aspetto che ci ha accompagnato per tutta la serata, grazie alle ragazze che curano il servizio al tavolo. Il locale è ben arredato con gusto ed eleganza e il cibo, ben presentato, era davvero di qualità. Abbiamo preso una buonissima zuppa del giorno e un sublime sgombro leggermente marinato. Anche il caffè era veramente buono e un particolare premio va anche alla pulizia del locale, aspetto questo non così scontato in queste zone.

Comida llegó 80 minutos después de haberlo pedido, (probablemente porque estaba ocupado y los pedidos no estaban escalonadas) no conseguir cosas que pedimos, tuvimos que compartir ambos lados (1 copa pequeña de verduras entre 3) hasta pedimos el resto, sin salsas en 15 libras. 75 plato de pescado que supuestamente estaban en él, no volver a ver si estaban bien, nos de hambre después de tanto tiempo de espera para que comimos comida pero estaba por debajo de la media, bill vino a nosotros para pedir los budines.

Este pub ha cambiado de manos y por desgracia ya no está a la altura de las buenas recomendaciones.

I don't mind waiting when i know how long it will be, but to be told 30 minutes and an hour later were served with a pan fried burger with a slice of mushroom, and three grated bits of cheese, served in a bun with warm lettuce, soggy chips and Lidl mayonnaise - its really not good enough! The chef must have changed as the last meal here was exceptionally good - however this was exceptionally bad! Another visit will be made to check that this was not a one off.

Fuimos al pub el sábado pasado para una comida familiar.

Alojarse en mousehole bajando la colina. Un lugar encantador. Pero saturado de encantadora camarera propia para la noche del sábado. Pedir comida y esperamos más de 40 minutos para que llegara. Mi hamburguesa estuvo bien, pero mi mujer era incapaz de comer los malos y colas de rape con gambas incomibles de algunos como animal. Verduras era poco atractivo. No pagamos por comida de mi mujer, pero nadie vino a ofrecer cualquier disculpa o solución. Pobre no se returnjng

Comimos aquí en Semana Santa Viernes, y nos pareció que la comida era bastante mediocre. Me dieron el marisco fresco linguini, que era muy agradable, aunque un poco aburrido. Podría haber tenido más sabores, aunque el marisco era muy rico! Mi novio con piña dieron la sobresaliente. Nos quedamos muy decepcionados con este. El sobresaliente era bastante seco y el plato en sí no era muy apetitoso. No recomendaría comer aquí si estás buscando una verdadera experiencia culinaria, aunque era un pub inglés lo suficientemente alegre!

Visited whilst staying in Mousehole New management are very welcoming & the classic pub food is of good quality, with generous portions & good value

Sólo tenía un vistazo en la nueva decoración, que es fantástico! Bien hecho, Nigel y el gran equipo de gente encantadora. Ahora el bar parece luminoso y acogedor, así que sin duda volveremos. Me encanta la idea de mostrar el trabajo de artistas locales, también. Un pub del pueblo.

Nos alojamos aquí la noche pasada por una noche, ya que había ido a ver el famoso luces Mousehole Navidad. Después de estar fuera en el frío caminamos cuesta arriba a una tan esperada comida caliente en los brazos Kings y no nos decepcionó. La comida era deliciosa, recién hechos, no tienes que esperar mucho tiempo, caliente y sabrosa. La señorita que nuestra comida no podía hacer lo suficiente para nosotros traernos todo lo que necesitábamos. Buenas porciones abundantes - no hay necesidad de llameantes. El personal del bar atenta también! Lo único negativo y es uno pequeño, dos de nuestras copas de vino viejo tenía marcas, sólo les secara!

We have recently Had Sunday Lunch Here, and in Fairness it has Always been Excellent, Hence We Called here for Sunday Lunch again it was about 12.30, We Found an unreserved table for Two, leaving the Larger also Unreserved Table that was also available (in case larger party came in), My Wife settled down Whilst i went to the Bar to give order, in due Course the Young bar lady came to serve, i said what is the Roast Today please, She replied Beef or Pork, I said one of each please (same as on previous 3 or 4 recent visits here), She went over to till / order placement and enquired which table we were seated at, i pointed to table for two that my Wife was now seated at, At this point Bar lady said Have You Booked !!! to which i said no !! but that there was NO RESERVATION SIGN ON TABLE, She then came away from Till / Order point and said Sorry "All the Roasts Are Booked" So i Said we had better give it a miss then ! she said , afraid so, but if you come back in an hour, we may still have some, MY Reaction was, although i never passed any other comment, Dont think that you really want our Custom, So With that we left, WE used to come in here three or four years ago, and after a few weeks we had a Similar experience, so had stayed away until recently, Shame, the food is excellent, but the attitude from Bar Staff has always been unfriendly and to the point, Surely if pub restaurant is for bookings Only, then a notice to that effect should be given, Likewise if Roasts are only for Bookings then that should be published, booked Tables Should have Reserved on them, Pity... We Live Fairly Close and would now be Reluctant to Return

Me hicieron muy bienvenido en los brazos Kings de todo el personal, especialmente, y Nigel y nos hizo sentir como uno de los locales, yo estaba lejos para negocios por 3 noches, y aunque este tenía la habitación más pequeña y sin baño, era mi lugar favorito de lejos. Gran compañía y buena comida y bebida. La carne era tan agradable que no tuve la oportunidad de conseguir una imagen, pero me he cargado uno de los champiñones con ajo!

Fui con dos amigos y Queenie cerca y su hija para cenar. Esto no será del gusto de todos, pero para nosotros fue muy bueno. Esposa 13 libras. 50 de cadera con guarnición y era muy bueno para un filete de Reino Unido. Tuve chili en 8 libras. 95 con opción de arroz o patatas fritas, obviamente fui con arroz. La comida bien cocinada y presentada, el servicio era bueno y la factura total incluye botella de vino Vino a unas 90 libras, pero también tenía amigos postre. Barman también informó más barato comprar una botella en vez de dos vasos grandes de vino. Hay una buena selección de vinos y cervezas. Buen pub para comidas de bar, recomendado.

Edificio de aspecto atractivo, frente a un imponente iglesia. Rústico interior con un olor a humedad. Abundantes raciones de comida, pero francamente, la comida era bastante horrible. Un bistec y tarta de riñón los riñones pero difícil contenía razonable de carne. Un pollo al curry, acompañado por un rancio poppadum, correosos exhiben una hamburguesa de pollo y era bastante grave. Optamos por estos platos como el menú indicado que determinados platos eran "casero", sugiriendo que los otros no lo eran. Un miembro de el personal del bar me dio un Dios todopoderoso y temible scowl cuando iba a recoger nuestra vajilla y observó que no había comido el grueso de nuestras cenas. Podía haber sido el chef ME PREGUNTO? (quizá deberíamos haber elegido no "casero".) Esta no fue la peor comida de pub que he comido, pero era bastante espantosa. Sin embargo, en la redención, la factura no era excesiva, y mi marido de regresar una cerveza, ya que estaba nublado, pero la ale fue cambiado con una sonrisa. A pesar de esto, de alguna manera, no creo que vuelva.

Nos alojamos en el Mousehole y hizo a este paseo pub pueblo en un domingos a la hora del almuerzo. No habíamos reservado una mesa y estaban completamente llenos Los domingos sirve asados, estábamos buscando por un sándwich y amablemente, encontraron una mesa preparada y almuerzo para nosotros a pesar de que pudimos ver fueron estiradas. Reservar una mesa para cenar un par de días más tarde y disfrutamos de una recepción calurosa y deliciosa comida. También recomiendo torta de carne, completa un dulce!

Durante su estancia en este hotel tuvimos un par de excelentes desayunos y también tenía una cena. El menú no es demasiado ambicioso, y parece que desde el mismo mucho de notaciones la buena es la de la fábrica de cosas cócteles preparados o cátering fuera, aunque también le dieron unos platos que son genuinamente casero en casa.

Vamos a Cornwall cada año. Nos encontramos por casualidad Kings Arms acerca de hace cinco años y hemos visitado el Kings Arms cada año desde nuestras comidas en familia durante las vacaciones. Llamamos para reservar para mí, mi marido y nuestro hijo de 14 años de edad dijeron que no podíamos usar el salón bar ya que los niños no están permitidos en que comer. Siempre hemos tenido nuestra comida en el bar salón cada año que he visitado. Cuando llegamos, el bar salón estaba vacío era 6:00 de la noche y así nos pudo haber tenido nuestra comida. Nos sentamos en el bar que es muy incómodo. Había un grupo de ocho personas, tener una reunión y quedamos bastante fuera de lugar. El era otra familia con niños muy pequeños que eran muy ruidosas. No era una comida familiar muy relajante. Mi marido pidió las tiras de pollo que parecían más nuggets de pollo. Tenemos la sensación de que las armas de los Reyes sin duda ha bajado y no volveremos.

We have been visiting Mousehole and walking up to The Kings Arms in Paul for well over 15 years in which time it has changed hands a couple of times that we know of, it was always a great find but this visit sadly we did not find the same pub that it has been in the past. Firstly we walked into the lounge bar with our two children and was informed we could only eat in the bar with the kids, which I find very strange, I don't mind restrictions but isn't that the wrong way round? So we walk into the bar to find nearly all the tables empty but with reserved signs on, the lady did say it was okay to sit on one of a choice of two, so we did! The food was more or less as we remember, good at a reasonable price with lovely desserts just not very welcoming. During our 8 night stay we thought we would pay them another visit, this time walking straight into the bar with our children at around 7.40 pm to find only one table in use and all the others with reserve signs on again, so we asked if we would be able to have a table to eat and with obvious reluctance was again given a choice of two tables and saying they had the signs on so no one would sit at them!?

Estamos alojados en Mousehole y decidimos subir a Paul. Sin duda es cuesta arriba todo el camino, pero sólo tarda unos 20 minutos.

Habiendo visto algunas críticas positivas por compañeros de viaje estaba muy decepcionado asesores con la comida que se sirve. Pedimos la torta de carne, trozos de pollo, gambas y un salchichas y patatas fritas. Nada sirven parecía o parecía fresco y parecía recalentado. No volvería.

Las dos veces que he visitado los brazos Kings para un almuerzo de domingo con mi familia hemos disfrutado de nuestra comida, sin embargo las dos veces que estuvimos muy decepcionados con los camareros. No tenían servicio de atención al cliente, no nos saludaban, no tenían modales, cuando nos trajeron la comida y que en realidad era para otra mesa (fácil error) no pidieron disculpas ni hacer una broma que desenfadado hubiera estado bien, pero en su lugar lo hizo incómoda. La hembra sirve no fue uniforme y baratas como parecía, que estoy por llevar su propia ropa de trabajo, pero llega un punto donde se ve de forma informal a directamente repugnante. Sin embargo, aunque el chico de uniforme (así que tienen uno) era muy desdichado, sin modales ni sonrisas pero no respuestas sólo torpe y ayudar en todo.

Pub tradicional precioso, a un corto paseo por la colina de Mousehole. Gran ambiente halagos personas mayores, muy buena cerveza (Cornish Ale es excelente). Cuatro de nosotros tuvimos una comida, eglefino y patatas, pollo al curry, pastel de carne con cerveza y mariscos Medley eran todo casero y muy sabroso y con un montón de perfectamente verduras recién horneadas y un plato enorme de patatas de los pusiesen simplemente salteados.

He visitado este pub muchas veces a lo largo de los años, pero no han sido por mucho tiempo.

Este pub está escondido en el precioso pueblo de San Pablo. A una corta distancia a pie de Mousehole. La comida está siempre recién preparada con porciones grandes. Having failed to park in Mousehole en route from Porthcurno to Helston, I predicted we'd find another nice pub long before we got to Penzance, and there at the top of the hill it was, with a spacious car park and roomy bar. The granite-built pub is located right opposite a picturesque medieval granite church and the monument to Dorothy (Dolly) Pentreath, reputedly the last mother-tongue speaker of Cornish (monument set up by Lucien Louis Bonaparte and the local vicar in 1860, long before language death became an urgent concern for linguists.

We called in here quite by chance for lunch; very old looking dark pub inside but tasty enough sandwiches for lunch. Good coffee.

We visited here between Xmas and new year, the food was great homemade pub food! Service was perfect! And landlady very friendly and welcoming! We will be back!

Lovely atmosphere and outstanding food. Appetising range of food on the menu, served promptly and pleasantly by helpful staff. Dog friendly. Would definitely go again when in the area next.

The King's Arms is in the quiet but welcoming village of Paul, with a couple of footpaths leading down to Mousehole; you'll need a map and some bramble-cutting equipment to get there, but at least there's ample free parking at this pub as well as a decent beer to follow.
