Lovely cafe, we popped in for some breakfast as it was the only one open before 10am in Tintagel! We have a toddler so we are naturally early risers! It was really cosy inside, we had 'build your own baps' each where you can put how much of whatever you like on a big homemade bread roll - it was delicious! We also shared a croissant and jam for our little boy and he ate the lot! Really friendly. No highchairs but he sat on our laps.

After the long exhausting walk around Tintagel Castle, my husband and I were really looking forward to lunch at King Arthur’s Cafe after reading great gluten-free reviews. Unfortunately there weren’t many GF options the day we went. No GF pasties, no GF sandwich bread, no GF scones. I don’t know if this was a post-COVID change in menu since the reviews we read were earlier or not... but I was told I could have a potato or a salad. (And well, the “salad as a GF meal” default candidly prickles my nerves as I see it as kitchen laziness when there are so many naturally GF hot meal options out there.)It did sound like the GF pasties might have just been sold out that day but it wasn’t clarified as we were only told they didn’t have them after I had already ordered one and a different server came out to let us know this. The chunky chips/fries are GF and are fried in a dedicated fryer, so that’s a side option for other Celiacs. I ended up eating a jacket potato with beans and cheese alongside coleslaw which was delicious but was not my first or third lunch choice. Service was quick, we waited for a short time for an outside table, but it wasn’t long at all (as we visited in the off-season). Overall, we would find a different local lunch spot next time that has a bit more gluten-free variety.

We decided to stop by here after visiting Tintangel Castle for a sandwich and cream tea, as it is literally in front of the entrance and had great reviews. We managed to get a table outside in the sun (by luck - there is limited seating out front!) but did regret it a little, as there was an invasion of wasps on the food. The sandwiches were a good size, plentiful, with crisps and a side salad. However our cream tea left us a little disappointed and for the price it all came to, we just expected more. I think with Covid, everything is in takeaway/plastic cups/containers which is not particularly pleasant. The scones were nothing to shout home about, and weren't that big either. Overall, it's a nice spot but weren't overly impressed with the cream tea.

We've randomly selected the café after hiking the Tintagle coast for a bit and were pleasantly surprised. Although we had to sit outside and it was massively windy, we really enjoyed our meal. The pulled pork sandwich was absolutely delicious and such a big portion, that I struggled to finish. One downside though was, that they only had wooden camping cutlery though and plastic cups - all things the wind was taking off the table really fast.Food was superb though and the juices!

Great choice of food on the menu at a great price in a great location. Food was very good and tastes great. Unfortunately where we sat outside the tables were swarming with wasps. I asked the waitress for a pit of jam to put on the next table to attract them. The answer was if I pay for it. How much would it have cost if we had walked away to eat elsewhere as oppose to a spoonful of jam? The wasps have put us off so we will not return unless we can eat inside.

Whilst hiking the SW Coast Path we stopped in Tintagel for a traditional Cream Tea. Due to Covid-19 restrictions we sat outside, which was lovely as it was a sunny July afternoon, and gave our order to the waitress. I had a cream tea which came with 2 Plain Scones, Strawberry Jam and Cornish Clotted Cream, and a pot of tea, (Earl Grey for me). Again due to Covid-19 it was served in a cardboard box with disposable eco-wood cutlery. The tea was in a proper china teapot but we had to drink from cardboard take-away cups. This does all spoil the 'experience' somewhat but that is not the fault of the Cafe and therefore I am still rating my visit as 5 Star... This is because the scones were delicious, fresh baked, warm and with a light sugary crust on the top. They were very probably the best scones I've ever had, and at the least had in a very long time, and I've had a lot of Cream Tea's around Devon, Dorset and Cornwall. There was a good amount of Cream and Jam too, perfect for generous amounts on my two scones. My wife and son also loved their scones and my daughter had a Tuna Melt Panini and she said that was very good too. Prices were what you'd expect in the West Country for such refreshments. All in all I highly recommend a Cornish Cream Tea at 'King Arthurs Cafe' and I would certainly have one again if in Tintagel. Oh just make sure you eat if correctly for Cornwall... That is Jam on the scone first, topped with the Cream. Cream first topped with Jam is how they do it in Devon.

Although sanitiser on counter I think it would be better to have it as clients enter to ensure it is always used. Also the sheet collecting details should have a time on it of arrival for better tracking as if customer says they arrived on the am customers don’t need tracing. The first place we tried didn't do cream teas, the second told us that they were closing [at 1430hrs on a Sunday afternoon!] and the third (King Arthur's bistro cafe) welcomed us with open arms.We both ordered cream tea which was served very promptly. We often use this cafe and the food is always excellent. Been there twice this holiday and can highly recommend it.

Scones to die for. Warm and fluffy and light and left you wanting more. Friendly customer service and right near the castle! Loved the scones so so much.

Queued in a pasty shop for half an hour to be told they’d run out of pasties, then queued for half an hour in another cafe to be told they’d run out of scones. Called in here fearing the worst- but they saved the day and improved my opinion of Tintagel. Service was quick, efficient and friendly. Scones were enormous, fresh, warm and delicious. Servings of cream and jam were generous. Tea was good too. Would definitely recommend.

Cliff top walk from trebarwith to the castle and then onto Tintagel. This is a perfect place to stop and refuel. Excellent food, fantastic service and always spotlessly clean. I wouldn't hesitate to recomend this bistro....they also have fantastic coffee!!

We come here on every trip to Cornwall and when the cream tea turns up you know why, still the best cream tea around and the owner and staff are really friendly, I can't recommend this place high enough.

Absolutely wonderful visit. The cream tea was the best I think I’ve ever had. Warm scones, huge pot of cream and delicious jam, must be homemade. The tea was piping hot and came with an additional tea bag should you like it strong.

Haven't stayed, but excellent range of well-kept cask ales including normally a couple from Penzance Brewing Co in Crowlas, near Penzance.

What a gem! We had no idea where to go for lunch but chose the shed; a great choice! The steak was so good and the sole cooked to perfection. Great wine, appetisers and dessert to boot. Fantastic value and the service was great Thank you so much.
