Karen's Diner in Brighton and Hove - Phone Number, Reservations, Reviews

We haven’t even been yet and the restaurant is supposedly closed down permanently? I live in Ireland and have been planning my friends birthday by organising a weekend in Brighton. I looked online and emailed the company to double check the booking and if this closure was true? -I have not received an email or refund for the deposit left for my booking at the end of June at the Brighton Karen’s diner. I have emailed-had one response(requesting which branch) and now have been ghosted If the franchise or branch has been closed it’s common decency to inform people who have paid a deposit and to give them time to reorganise something else The experience is supposedly suppose to be funny with staff being rude which I can handle but customer service and my refund-with no contact is ridiculous If this is how they treat their customers before experiencing the venue then no wonder the franchise has closed

Crap hole, crap food and I know it’s there thing to be rude but at least do it in a funny way. Maybe learn how to cook food first

Birthday of my grandson who was really looking forward to it, however it was raided for drugs then reopened as Crazy Daisies who informed us they would honour our booking including the £35 deposit that we had made plus 10% off on the day they messaged we went and they were closed now still not responding to emails requesting deposits back or even to say sorry we all travelled over one hour to get there absolutely disgusting customer service

We prebooked and arrived 5 mins early, a group were leaving and said they waited an hour for food, it was cold, dry and not suitable for a dog so they just walked out and left, also there is no alcohol. There was one group left in there at 8pm on a Friday night, and that had 5 kids that were running about. I emailed to ask for my deposit back and nothing, they didn't even reply.

Serving no alcohol in there as licence was under review. Nothing was said at door and when sat down until we went to order for a friend's birthday. Did not know if to believe them or not when they said. It's all a bit of fun but you have to know what your getting and be in the mood for the acting. Food was we felt expensive and average

Wish I’d read these before booking and spending £113 on Luke warm food (pretty much cold if I’m honest) could have saved myself a disheartened teen, it was his 13th birthday treat as he really wanted to go after seeing all the videos etc over social media. We arrived at 6:45 it wasn't very busy ant this point expecting it to be as good as the videos/ clips we had seen… we soon realised it wasn’t anything like that!! We had hardly any interaction the bare minimum from staff we definitely didn’t get a karen experience! There was 3 waitresses and 2 cooks (let’s face it you can’t call them chefs!) drinks orders where finally taken no interaction just a take your drinks no alcohol, food no pizzas, no garlic bread. Food came nothing special at all seen more effort from my toddler putting building blocks together. Condiments as good as empty no cutlery offer. A few “games” played briefly at the front of the place but no interaction other than that come 7:45 it was heaving with people queuing out the door and staff run off their feet front of house. We decided to skip desserts by this point and then went to maccers for a McFlurry! And a 12.5 % service charge!!!!

We ( party of 7 ) went for a Birthday surprise for my daughter , and was naturally treated by the expected Karen's Rudeness upon arrival we then waited half an hour for drinks that we had to ask for 3 times, and then the awful food in cheap plastic baskets arrived an hour later cold , dry and definitely substandard They don't serve alcohol ( although the menu suggests otherwise) , and the soft drinks were flat upon arrival Banter and Karens Rudeness = 4/10 drinks service = 1/10 Food service = 2/10 Food quality = 1/10 value for money = 1/10 Would i go again ? ..... Only if its free !!

The food is absolutely awful and over priced. Also don’t serve alcohol , The Karen’s just swear and that’s it really. Pretty boring , left as soon as we could

A big let down. I thought it would be amusing and more of an experience. It's pretty much a bunch of waitresses sticking their middle finger up every time they walk past you and shouting now and then. I could do a better job myself! There was very little funny or entertaining about it. As for the food... What we had was ok but not really much different than you would get at Spoons and obviously more expensive. They didn't have any pizzas. They were unable to serve alcohol as the restaurant has had the licence suspended! Service was also slow and the table we sat at was very cold.

I'm generally gutted about this place, after taking my partner to the Manchester branch where we got absolutely savaged, games every 10 mins, laughter that makes your stomach hurt, we decided to take friends to the Brighton branch for their 1st experience. We booked at 7pm, knowing the later the better. The hats were so tame and boring, hardly any swearing, zero games, waited an hour and 10 mins for food which was cold, there were no pizzas as apparently there isn't a chef in the kitchen, oh and to top it off, no alcohol. At all. Lost their licence apparently. We told our friends that Manchester was so much more Savage, Brighton is boring.

Don’t waste your money. Rubbish food, even worse ‘jokes’ that fell flat, it was just trying to hard to be edgy and was really cringy.

The visit itself was great, we were the only ones in the restaurant so got the full Karen experience. The food was cold and it was difficult to explain as they didn’t get my genuine complaint, not somewhere I would return, it is I have done it once

Fully appreciate the concept however repeatedly using the F word directly to a 4 year old girl is too much, especially mid afternoon on a Sunday. Stag do or hen do I’m sure it’s great but unless parents think it’s ok to have their young children sworn at with extremely side references then steer clear. Read the room Karen.

Amazing! Been hearing about this place a lot. I must say Callum is amazing the waitress understood our needs and requirements. About brilliant!! Left before we ordered, kids hated it though they say kids can attend if accompanied by adult and before 5pm so thinking it would be ok for lunch, it was a special occasion for a birthday, thought it would be funny rude and that the staff could acclimatise for the audience, ie kids at lunchtime, the best they could come up with was just lots of swear words, it was unfunny and frankly think we had a lucky escape , they need a massive review of how they run things, im all for theatrical experience, but this was in no way family friendly and frankly not funny at all!! Doubt it will be open this time next year!

Obviously it is hard to write a negative review given the the concept behind this, which i completely understand and why we chose to go here for a special occasion. At first we found it very funny. However it soon became very apparent that the reason the staff have that role is because they are genuinely horrible people, and it is run by complete amateurs. Having run into a genuine problem, trying to have a sensible and respectful conversation with the management was just not possible, they absolutely have no clue how to actually run a restaurant or business. The food is mediocre, they forgot some of our order- of course this could have been deliberate given the nature of the restaurant. If you want one of cheesy awful lads on tour holiday experience then this is the place to go, but just be warned if you have a genuine concern you wish to raise outside of the concept, they will not know how to manage it, and does not appear to have anyone senior who represents the brand that they will allow you to complain too. Sadly they ended up ruining what was meant to be a funny, and special experience for us. Good luck, and if you're thinking of employment here then I would genuinely think again!

Food wasn’t to bad burger was actually very nice however the sever Evie(I think) was awful. I know your meant to be rude but the things she was saying was out of order calling people vegetables screamed in my face calling other diners scumbags/tramps.

When we stumbled across Karen’s Diner in Brighton Marina we were extremely pleased. It’s one of the dining experiences that we wanted to tick off our Bucket Lists. We had a great time. The staff were brilliantly insulting and the food was exceptionally good.
