Chicks in Brighton and Hove

Just had a delivery. Eaten half a burger to find a thumb nail in my beef burger. Absolutely disgusting. Called the shop they didn’t understand a word of what I was saying and just tried to send me another one. Put off is not the word. Do not order from here. Customer service is a joke and food is never how it should be.

Good food, exactly the kind of take out that keeps a hangover at bay. Chicken with spice similar to Nandos, and fries that I'd say are better than McDonalds.

Orderd from chicks last night and to wake up with food poisoning is a diffrent story!! If you don't want your chicken made with no effort and undercooked then please do NOT eat here.

Honest review. Its a chicken shop. Food tasted nice, but its obvs greasy n unhealthy. Food came quick, was surprised as i ordered 30 mins before close so kudos to them. They threw in free chips and a piece of chicken so wow... All for free unsure why. Cant rlly fault em tbh, nothing too unique though its a boss man chicken shop so u get boss man chicken 👍👍👍

2 hours waiting for food. Called 5 times to be told several different stories of where our food was. One minute it was on the the way, next minute the post code was wrong, then the driver had broken down! Server hung up on us twice when we complained! Ended up getting a refund and not the food as didn’t want to be mucked about anymore! Terrible service!

We use this takeaway chicken shop quite often and most of the time receive a good service and food is mostly hot when served to us but we do eat in the shop which has three tables and chairs to eat in if you like. However we have had a few issues with the waiting time due to staff being more interested in the orders going out to customers who use just eat delivery service in fact one time I ordered my food and was still waiting around 20 minutes before I had to ask again about the food I'd ordered and paid for in advance to be told the staff member who took my order forgot it due to dealing with a telephone order for just eat delivery. Mind you I must admit we have mostly had a good service and good food from Chick's in Lewes Road Brighton. I must also point out there is no toilets for customers who eat in the shop which I thought by law if a takeaway has a eating area for customers they have to supply a toilet 🚻 with hand washing facilities. 🤔 Mind you they will let you use the toilets in there other takeaway wich also has a seating area next door so not too bad a suppose.

45 min late and extremely rude over the phone

Ordered a food delivery , after waiting 1.5 hrs the food turned up , fries were cold chicken felt like it was yesterday’s, very disappointing .

Made an order via the app & the app said the order hadn't gone through. Ordered via another phone on the app & the order went through .... THEN the original order was processed, so x2 orders should have been delivered ... after over an HOUR wait (@ 2pm on a Monday afteroon) ONE order was delivered, which was incorrect ... phoned to get the order rectified and was told the correct order would be sent in the next 20mins... Over 45min later food arrived, cold, soggy chips (as other ppl have said in reviews), & STILL not correct! Won't be ordering from here ever again!

I mean where to start.... App was the most confusing thing ever. Ended up ordering twice. OK we thought we'll cope. First order well over an hour so we chased it then it turns up 10 minutes later. Wrong order and only half of it! Promised by phone to send more 20 mins later but nearly an hour and we're still waiting. Unbelievable. How are they still in business??!! Avoid at all costs!!!!!

Ordered a chicken wrap meal with fries and a drink and they sent me a tiny lamb wrap, no fries. Ended up hungry as I don’t eat red meat. Complete joke don’t go here

I should have known what to expect, but I was hungry after a few drinks. The chicken was Luke warm and pale brown, slimy underneath the skin. I know it's a low paid job but there was an absolutely no effort to make this look appealing, didn't finish the meal.

All a bit soggy and greasy. Cheap wholesale chicken,as hadn’t been plucked properly. Driver was not particularly friendly either. Won’t be using them again.

Have used Chicks for well over a decade. I see recently subtle changes to the menu have occurred and it’s good stuff. They’re a local favourite of mine thanks to their great value and speedy delivery. Long may it continue!

I am heavily pregnant so rang the shop they would not honour a refund only to resend food to which i declined due to the raw chicken. was so rude & not understanding.

I discovered chicks about a month ago when i heard it had been placed under new management. Best chicken shop in the area and the pizzas are always great as well. Would definitely recommend trying the peri peri options as well. Never had a problem with bad service either.

Been eating at chicks for a while now honestly best chicken shop in Brighton, staff very friendly and always a pleasure to talk to. You need to try the vanilla milkshake!

Food was late due to snow so not faulting the driver for that. But when food arrived it was cold, I ordered cheesy garlic bread, but no cheese was on said bread, the chips had cheese but was clumped together and the chips just tasted like they had been put in the microwave to heat up. Avoid! Plus delivery driver had no change so lost a £20 note for £15 worth of cold soggy food !

I thought this was a good place to order. The previous time I ordered they were excellent the food was hot and fresh the chicken was tender and the chips were lovely. But the most recent time I ordered from them it took them nearly 2 hours to deliver the food, and when It did arrive the chips were limp cold and half cooked. The chicken was pink and underdone as well as being cold and half of the order didn't arrive at all. I think I'm going to give this place a wide gap for a while and hope they can improve.

Meant to be a chicken shop but the chicken is so bad proper cheap and nasty chicken. Everything was undercooked tasteless and cold. Never again.

Food items missing and when I called to ask about it they said they run out but still took the money from me at the door knowing this! Just think it's disgusting and shouldnt charge people for things they dont have.

Genuinely can't say I've tasted a better wing than Chicks' spicy BBQ wings. Their burgers and pizzas are very nice too, particularly the fiery chicken burger. Amazing value for money too. Have ordered from here so many times, they never disappoint.

Had a chicken salad which was lovely and good value for money. And a chicken tikka wrap which was delicious but was quite small

Everything was cold and over way cooked! Dry tough chicken burger, and the beef burger was hard as a hammer! Couldn't even eat it, waste of money wish I hadn't wasted my money on food

Next time make sure the food is fully cooked please chips wasn’t cooked fully and chicken strips wasn’t fully cooked

I love this shop, I've ordered several times and everytime was a great experience, except once the pizzas arrived with a bit of a sour after taste to them but still good. The order may take a while sometimes but I take that into consideration and order ahead, first time it took too long so they added a free cheesecake to the order. Hope they keep up the quality, and the great deals.

I asked for BBQ Sauce on base of pizza but they put tomato instead. Chicken was dry (my cat even refused to eat it). Chocolate cake tasted weird and it was basically floating in water. And chips were cold. All in all this was a waste of nearly £30!

I didn't even get the food it says on the app "enjoy your food" yet I'm still at home, hungry waiting for the food. And to top it off they're not even answering their phone. This isn't the first time they've messed with my order. I've had to pay them £40 for 1 pizza which was 10' when it should've been something much more. Absolutely disgusting behaviour never ordering from here again.

Order was nearly an hour late phoned and was told order had just left the shop 20 mins passed (i live 5 min drive away) still no food tried phoning again eventually got through to be told again it had just left to which i told them they had already lied and used that answer. Food finally turned up 20 minute later most of the food was really nice but lamb ribs were not very good. Probably won't use again

Food lovely asked for pots of sauce for strips but ended up having loads of sauce smothered all other the strips which ruined the strips but quick delivery

I absolutely love this place! The pizza and sides taste amazing, especially the chips, and they always deliver fast.

Used to eat there at university, food still killer. Showed up slightly early, closer to initial time estimate than the post-order time slot, obviously pretty ideal.

I've ordered multiple times (chicken fillet burger meal). Found the quality better than bigger brands. The chicken is really tasty. Delivery man is always friendly. Very Happy, will continue to order.

After waiting for 20 minutes past my delivery time I called the shop only to have the phone pit down on me....then eventually my order turned up 45 minutes late. And wasn't as hot as I thought it would be. So won't be using this place again. Rude,unhelpful and late!

Pizza arrived in good time, price very reasonable compared to some others and arrived nice and hot. However the food itself was very disappointing, the pizzas were very bland, the cheese was like a tasteless rubber layer across the top. There’s weren’t many toppings compared to other places I have ordered from. The meatballs were pink and uncooked in the middle. It was dry and bland with an unpleasant taste and texture. I have used Chicks many, many times in the past and it has been better than this. I won’t risk ordering from here again if I want pizza. It was without a doubt the worst takeaway pizza I have ever had. I wish I’d sit gone to the corner shop and brought a £1 pizza from their freezer as they taste much better than this did.

Pizza was hot and delicious, the cheesy fries had a peculiar taste that I enjoyed, and the chicken was nice enough. Great food overall.

Only have one star because it won’t let you review else waited over 2 hours for a takeaway phoned twice to be told food was on the way , it finally arrived 2 hours later cold and wrong spicy wing meal was sent as bbq wings and the Diet Coke was sent as a Diet Pepsi there was also no sorry when phoning to chase order won’t be ordering again

Store gave unspecified food in order which caused my 14 yo child to have severe allergic reaction and a and e treatment. Staff are rude and took no blame. No where is red hot chilli mixed in with the meat itself mentioned in a chicken sheesh kebab. Shameful horrible staff!

Food was 40 mins late and only sent a driver out when at 25 mins late I called to check on the delivery, despite only being on the road for 20 mins my food was cold and so it seems was left on the side in the restaurant for a while before I rang. On top of this no compensation was given, not even an apology.

Didn't realize there were hash browns but it was very nice will be ordering another meal again.

Get food from here regularly, have to say was disappointed today! The chips weren't cooked properly and the chicken wasn't up to the normal standard. Might be giving it a miss from now on.

The food was just awful. The chips were clearly reheated and also overcooked from the first time it was cooked. The chicken was absolutely solid and tasteless where it had clearly been left out all day. I ordered 6 chicken strips and only got four. I was missing 2 chicken strips and 2 wings, instead they put a HASH BROWN in replacement. It's as if they are just throwing whatever they had left at the end of the day in the bag. Never ordering from here again and have requested a refund via Just Eat

I have been waiting 40 minutes and still nothing has been delivered got it rang again and have been told they will deliver as soon as possible? my other food that was delivered is now cold and i can not eat the this as a meal with my family . very disappointed

Although the delivery time was already at least an hour and twenty minutes away, it still arrived 1 hour late. The delivery person does not speak English. The phone number stated does not work as no one picks up. I don't think I will order from here again.

The hygiene in this place was awful! The person serving was coughing with out wearing a mask or even covering his mouth. Please avoid this place.

Didn’t/couldn’t read my delivery note. Couldn’t speak English at all. Resulted in a 15 minute phone call with me just saying what the note said over and over again, whilst he struggled to understand what I was saying or how to find my house. Found me eventually but food was cold by this point. Was missing items too; a pizza was missing.

The wings were not crunchy and probably will never be they lack a little kick. There were a few odd looking wings in the bunch which I decided not to try. The only positive I will give was that’s the fiery chicken burger was nice but again there was nothing fiery about it.

Delivery is always good but lately the chips are rock solid and also lately been missing items even though I ask them to check everything is in the bag.

Took 2 hours to get delivered. Food was horrible, undercooked and stale re-cooked chips, chicken strips had black bits all over it, Burger was absolutely disgusting, it was burnt and tasteless. Unacceptable
