Jumps is a local legend of a fish and chip shop. Most of the town know Jupps and everyone loves it. My elderly mum recently moved to the area and they’ve been very caring and friendly to her, making her feel right at home in the local area. The food is always amazing and the local touch is just warming and lovely.

Don't have fish and chips often at all so has taken a few years to get here... We usually share a large cod - the large was actually 2 smaller ones so turned out well. Staff all great, great choice of food and place very popular. Chips could be a bit more generous if looking for a minor fault but on the flipside the curry sauce was the best I've had from a chippy and a very generous tub! Will use next time I'm sure!

WE ordered a takeaway during lockdown and apart from a small and unimportant delay, everything was excellent.Well-cooked chips and fish, great service and a very efficient system in the chop showing high concern for health

called in whilst staying at a local hotel that wasn't serving dinner due to the covid situation, details for Jupps fish and chips was on the takeaway list supplied by the hotel, good sized portions, very friendly staff, bought it to the car for us, cooked to order and whist a 3 mile trip back to the hotel, food was piping hot and really tasty

Tried many f&c establishments in the Mid-Sussex area and none come close to Jupps, Excellent food, great service and loads of choice as you would expect. Martyn is the owner and has been there for many years, he knows his customers and always has time for welcoming conversation. Kids love coming with me too as they normally end up with a free lollipop or something like that - Don't go anywhere else, you will get all you need here - well done Jupps

This is my fish and chip shop of choice even though there are at least 3 or 4 other reasonable establishments closer to home. Martin and the team offer a friendly efficient first class service that matches their product. I called to place an order and couldn't get through as they were frying. So I sent an email thinking I'll probably need to ring them again as they wont see it. No way! Martin had obviously picked it up and rang me straight back. Great service!

My daughter was absolutely ecstatic with her unicorn box with her meal inside, a gingerbread bear, drink, along with a pencil and ruler. She honestly was over the moon, I’ve never seen her so thrilled to receive dinner!! After finishing her dinner she couldn’t wait to go round the garden ‘measuring’ everything! You made a little girl very happy! My husband and I have recently gone vegetarian and were worried we’d miss the fish. We went for a selection of the vegetarian menu to try and really enjoyed it all. Thank you for being open. You have organised the shop perfectly to keep everyone at a safe distance from each other. We didn’t ring up beforehand and it was easy to order and quick to collect.

Fish and chips from Jupps are always good and never more so in this Covid-19 lockdown. They've made it so easy to carry on enjoying them during the lockdown - phone or email in your order, then agree a time to pick up your order. Make a contactless payment when you arrive and then wait in an orderly queue at the back of the shop at the required distance for the short while it takes to cook your order to perfection.

I am a shift worker and leaving Gatwick at 2130 with the chip shop due to close at 2200 I phoned up and was surprised but very pleased when the chap advised me would wait despite me due to arrive after thsy close.After arriving just before 10 past 10 I managed to get some sausage and chips! i am a frequent visitor to Jupps and have been for many years Martyn, Marie and all of the staff are always welcoming and even when they are busy they always seem organised and on top of everything.The fish is always cooked to order which does mean a short wait but it is always worth it for the quality of the food.i also find the portion sizes to be on the generous side of plenty.Great people providing great food.

We held a charity fund raising event on Saturday night for 80 people at St Andrews in Burgess Hill. The order included Fish, Chicken and Veggie options. All arrived piping hot and on time in racks to prevent them getting crushed.

There are quite a few to choose from in Burgess Hill and I've tried them all, but the one I keep on returning to is Jupps. The quality of both the fish & the chips is outstanding, portions are generous, it is good value, staff are friendly and lastly the place is gleaming...I've never seen such a clean take away.

Never been disappointed with any of the food order. Whatever I have ordered it has always been cooked fresh and tastes AMAZING! All the staff are amazing and always make a point of speaking to you even when really busy. Portion sizes are perfect, Everything is still piping hot by the time I get home. This is still my favourite chip shop, fresh potato chips still served but unfortunately the portion size of chips has changed. The large portion of chips we had tonight which is usually too much for us two was about the size of a regular size elsewhere.

I booked Jupps to provide hot fish and chips for 60+ on a wet, windy night. There were special requirements, such as g/f batter and veggie options. Not only did they deliver bang on time to a muddy destination in the country, everything was lovely and hot, delicious and every order fulfilled perfectly and for a great price. Popped in for cod, chips and curry sauce. Found chips to be heavy in grease, curry sauce tasted like it had been made from powder and fish was very thin.

My wife hadn't eaten fish in batter for over twenty years until now........Jupps Gluten free batter is, according to Amanda ,simply the best tasting gluten free batter ever. Martyn has succeeded where many others have failed. Amanda can't wait to try his Scampi and Spam Fritters, in fact anything on the excellent menu that is battered. Together with the excellent customer service, friendly staff and Martyn Frying , Jupps has to be the best Chippy in town. Try them, you won't be disappointed. Mike.

Martin, the owner of Jupp's Fish and Chips, goes above and beyond. On numerous occasions, he has made gluten-free fish & chips for my client after we have been swimming. We phone up, Martin, or one of the ladies, answers the phone in a very friendly manner with a personal acknowledgement and cooked to order - honestly the freshest and most well-cooked fish and chips I have ever had.

While in Yorkshire we visited Whitby as we heard the fish and chips were the best .It was not jupps fish and chips beats there's hands down we go there all the time now even though we live in haywards heath.

Camping locally at an international event for scouts and guides, Martyn and his team provided excellent service from original email booking a Friday evening slot, to confirming large detailed order, to accommodating my 20 minute delay as my car was stuck in a muddy field......to providing excellent food, piping hot, suitably wrapped, for 40 people, carrying it to my car , whilst accommodating all their usual Friday night customers. 5 star through and through - highly recommend a visit to Jupps.

August 9th. Yet another outstanding takeaway from this utterly reliable shop. This time, various spring rolls (better than any UK Chinese restaurant examples to date), pea fritters, cod and chips. One aspect that's time-limited in that the chips were exceptional. I asked why. Simply, new potatoes which are seasonally dependent. Only a few weeks left for these rarities. No wonder this place is a destination F&C; venue. Needs a bigger car park - for obvious reasons.

The reviews for this takeaway say different but I thought the food here was terrible. I've never given one star to anyone and I'm not at all happy that I am doing so now but it's done. Fish was dripping in grease. Pie was barely warm. Curry sauce horrible. Chips tasted chemically challenged. Food went in the bin. I'm shocked really as I'd heard do many good things. What went wrong?!!!!!
