A lovely breakfast of Turkish Eggs. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked, with an the yoke being at just the right level of runny.

Sat outside yesterday for some sausage rolls and cakes and it was great! Such a little gem of a place. The cafe was very busy but the girls who work there were lovely and very accommodating. Especially when it started to rain outside and they were able to move us inside. Hopefully we will be back to visit very soon!

Everyone knows High Streets are changing. Not always for the best. So many prestigious names have left Tunbridge Wells High Street: Brora, Whistles, Cath Kidston, Jamie Oliver, Crew, and Joules to name just a few. Juliet's is the constant. It is the Polestar. I seriously believe that the current businesses in the High Street owe Juliet's a debt of gratitude for the unrelenting footfall it brings to the area. It does this by being consistently good at what it does. Above all else is the service. Juliet runs the show of course but imbedded in her amazing trusted staff are Lara and Dulcie and the outstanding customer service those two deliver is frankly staggering. Juliet's is almost always busy. The stress and strain they are constantly under must be immense but they are never fazed, never flustered, always resilient, always calm, always on top of everything. There is always a welcoming smile. Nothing is ever too much trouble. I remember one time when it was particularly hectic, Lara saying, "Thank heavens Dulcie is back tomorrow..." . An indication that the teamwork is unrivalled. Juliet's is not just a fantastic place to eat, it is therapy for the soul. thank you so much.

Came here for lunch and everything was so nice. I had a salad with a veggie and it tasted very fresh and very nice overall. We then had some cake and they were so nice, the cake was light and fluffy and the slices were a very good size! This is such a lovely cafe but the only negative is that it was very busy, I wish you could book in advance to guarantee that you have a table but if you don't mind waiting then it is worth the wait!

What a wonderful gem! Discovered this gorgeous tea room with a friend & we both love proper home made cake. The selection was fantastic even at 14:30 & the cakes were delicious. Even took a piece home! My coffee was perfect as I like it very weak with skimmed milk. My friend had tea and said how lovely it was to have a warmed pot which kept the tea hot. Lovely china, with teapots that are all different. Also a decent amount of milk so she could have a few cups without having to ask for more milk. Lovely friendly service & atmosphere. We will definitely be back! Thank you! Highly recommend

What a little diamond. A small but very lovely cafe on the old High Street. An independent, it's better than any chain serving their horrible, bland drinks in a polystyrene cup. Proper tea in a lovely, relaxing atmosphere. Friendly, welcoming service. And with a smile ( please take note all you corporate conglomerates). And cake. CAKE!!😇❤️🤩 Try the Guinness cake. Absolutely delicious. Now that's a birthday cake I want. All cakes are homemade. And taste all the better because of it. And they make them to order .

A rare visit back to Tunbridge Wells and good to see Juliet’s still going strong and becoming something of a local institution. It is still quirky with its mismatched furniture and crockery and wonderful window display of tempting cakes. It needs to be as good as it looks to stand out from the crowd, and the identikit coffee shops. Well, visit for breakfast didn’t disappoint. Had to wait for the door to open ay 8.30 - the place was soon busy. Excellent breakfast - always on the quest for the perfect scrambled egg, and this was first rate. Freshly cooked, nicely presented with chives - and excellent coffee. Pleasant service too. Looking forward to another visit.

I have been a regular here for years and love their brunch and cakes. Service always good etc. I now have a baby and decided to meet friends here for lunch - I find really disappointing they do not have any baby changing facilities. There is a big spacious toilet upstairs but no table or pull out unit, when I asked one of the staff she suggested changing my 3 month old on the toilet floor. Disgusting! Luckily I had my own mat but trying to kneel on the sticky floor and not touch anything whilst changing a nappy is less than ideal. This is the kind of place that mums would love to go for coffee and lunch but completely impractical if you have a little one. Sadly I won’t be returning as I cannot change my baby whilst there! I also want to add that I gave them feedback via DM on Instagram but was ignored which I find incredibly rude. Maybe the staff at Juliette’s aren’t parents…

Visited Tunbridge Wells on way home from the south coast, Juliet’s, another recommend that was spot on. Initially the small and densely packed little space felt a little overwhelming, but the deliciousness of the bakes, the loveliness of the staff soon made you forget the sardine Like seating. The scones and cakes are absolutely delicious, the service is great and the presentation perfect. Not the cheapest but definitely a great find.

Never been to Tonbridge Wells before but picked this for breakfast after having a hot air balloon flight nearby. Perfect place to go after an exciting adventure. The service was excellent, really friendly. The menu was unique, with good choices not seen anywhere else. I had The Stack. Not normally one for a vegetarian dish, this was so tasty and very filling. I didn't need the extra sausage and egg I ordered! My partner had the scrambled egg on toast with extra salmon and avocado. Two fantastic dishes. The lemon feather cake was delicious and I got a sausage roll to take away. Wish we lived in Tonbridge Wells so could go more often!

We visited Juliette today to celebrate my wife’s 50th birthday. We arrived at 2 pm, to find most of the menu sold out. My wife had a piece of fish and I had a vegetable tartlet. They were tiny and overpriced. The meal cost £18 with drinks, and we stopped at Sainsbury’s local to buy a sandwich on our way home. A birthday lunch, ruined.

Juliet’s team gave us a warm welcome and were especially helpful with accessibility. Our server was lovely, nothing was too much trouble. This attractive, centrally-located cafe’s menu spoils you for choice and caters for most preferences. I had The Stack with a side of toast, so nice. The coffee was delicious too. Our biggest challenge was leaving without buying any of Juliet’s cakes and pastries to take home. There’s lots of competition in Tunbridge Wells, including a number of great independent cafes, and Juliet’s is one of the best. Highly recommended.

Great spot, tables outside, very friendly staff. Nice varied menu and just the thing while shopping. I loved the older style cutlery. My choice was vegetarian quiche / pie. Light crisp pastry, tasty filling but what let it down for me was the fact it was quite cold (almost chilled) in the centre. A bit like it had been frozen and not quite defrosted enough. Warming it up would have helped. For the portion size I thought it was a little expensive, but that would not stop me going back and trying something else.

Juliets is our absolute favourite place to go in TW we have never been disappointed and always leave happy until today! We turned up hoping there would be a table available( as its always busy and quite rightly so) we got lucky and sat deliberating over what delicious lunch we would order! We both decided on the gorgeous sounding chicken sandwich (I think the word wonder was in the title) with coffees. My husband asked for an extra portion of chicken in his as he likes extra protein, so when the sandwich arrived we were confused as it was basically processed sliced chicken ! we were taken aback by this as Juliets standards are High and very rustic style, we assumed we would be getting some sliced cooked chicken breast? We both avoid any kind of processed foods but felt very conflicted about causing an issue. We reluctantly ate the sandwich but wincing with each bite and instantly regretted not questioning why did they serve processed packet meat! We paid and quietly left. Sadly our enjoyment of going to our favourite place was swiftly gone and I doubt we will venture back now ! This really was a huge disappointment to us. If you want cake and coffee you could not go to a better cafe, the salads and stews are always amazing ! BUT the chicken sandwich is definitely a disappointment in the fact that it contains packaged processed sliced chicken! It pains me to write this review but come on Juliets with all your fab healthy salads etc you can't serve processed meat in a sandwich!

I had heard so much about Juliet’s this and Juliet’s that - to be fair the ambiance is good and the place was full so they must be doing something right, however, the service was clunky and by that I mean we were visited by several staff so not sure who we would comment about except that they did not appear to know what we had ordered, brought us cake which was for a different table and a different team than we wanted but we accepted as we were getting things brought to us like Wagamama’s - when it was ready it was brought out! My coffee, ok I am a coffee snob and coffeholic so I know what I like! I asked for a strong black coffee and when I tell you I could clearly see the white bottom of the cup through a light brown liquid you know I am not happy with the quality or standard of what I was brought! I ask for an extra shot like I did here but was not delivered. Maybe this “quality” type of coffee is really designed for milk addition to make it a milky fused coffee drink but not what I would call a coffee! Therefore we maybe in the minority but on the strength of this visit we will think twice before returning. They are not cheap, cakes lovely, but the service and the quality of drinks is suspect!

What a pleasure it was to visit Juliet’s on a grey January day! The staff were welcoming and friendly from the moment we arrived. Smiling Amy provided a menu and then checked back for our choices as soon as we were seated. The atmosphere was busy, warm and relaxed and the staff were always on the move ensuring everyone was satisfied, good old fashioned waitress service. 'Immense' is the only word to describe it! We visited on a Sunday afternoon and the cafe was really busy, perhaps as many cafes in the area seem to be shut on Sundays. It was so busy in fact, that they probably could have filled a room twice the size!Juliet's has a Brighton cafe vibe and the staff seemed genuinely welcoming and friendly. We had to wait briefly to be seated, but once a table became free, a member of staff very quickly cleared it and invited us over. Whilst waiting by the counter, someone bought nearly all of the wicked-looking chocolate cake that I'd had my eye on, so I asked if I could reserve the last slice! This was willingly obliged (phew!) My second choice would have been their 'billionaires' shortcake slices; the biggest slabs of caramel and chocolate I've seen, again worthy of the review title! My co-eater opted for a savoury choice of eggs Benedict, which was perhaps dwarfed by the cakes but well presented and tasty. I teamed my reserved slice of cake with their house special 'Magical Mystery Tour' hot chocolate - you know it's going to be good when the waitress compliments you on your choice!! The description on the menu really doesn't prepare you for what you'll receive - whipped cream, marshmallows, chocolate pretzels and raspberry powder oozing down the side of a royal family mug and onto the saucer - people turned to look as it was brought over to me (rendering me too embarrassed to photograph it!!) My advice is to drink it quickly to make it look less outrageous!! - I just hope they do a milkshake version for the summer months!

Choosing from the menu was more difficult than I had imagined as there were a few things that I was tempted by. I decided on the Smashed Avocado and Halloumi open sandwich. It was delicious, however it would have been better if the Halloumi was warm. Nevertheless I thoroughly enjoyed it. The atmosphere was lively. Juliets seem to have a habit of delivering amazing cakes. Had the lovely lemon feather cake and it did not disappoint. However my only gripe is that the coffee to be honest isn't all that great. Service is good but manic when it gets busy!

Food was delicious but the size of the open salmon sandwich is very small for its price. The sitting is so crowded that you can't even relax. The place is too small for the amount of people inside. Overrated and definitely would not return.

Coffee tea and cake, all the absolute best, perfect. Ambiance warm, eclectic, quirky. Staff chirpy, and friendly. It’s very popular thou, so expect busy. We had the courgette, pistachio and elderflower cake, it was so lovely.

Juliet's offers a warm welcome and a friendly environment. We usually pop in for afternoon tea but have had the odd snack there too. They usually have some special cakes to lust after and their tea is always refreshing. Must be the best cafe for miles!

Clearly very popular, and deservedly so. Shared tables are the norm, good coffee and great banana bread, the selection of savories also looked very appealing, although we can't confirm, but visually - looked like we'd enjoy them

Juliet's is a calorie seekers delight. Tucked away on the old high street of Tunbridge Wells close to the Pantiles-which is well worth an explore.

No queue today. Clean tables, fast, efficient staff mostly friendly and v helpful. The array of cakes cannot be beaten on choice, quality and taste. Can’t wait to return. The croissant and millionaire’s shortbread were outstanding.

Stumbled across Juliet's yesterday when we stopped for lunch en route to Eastburne. It's a journey we do often and this will forever be our stop off point! Is it a cafe or is it a restaurant - I'm not sure but it is certainly quaint and quirky. Was very busy but it didn't take long to get a table and we were able to admire the selection of food and cakes while we were waiting. Tea was served in a beautiful china teapot and teacups from a golden era. I couldn't resist the cakes or decide what to have there was so much choice. In the end I chose lime and coconut and it was superb. I have never had a cake like it - and trust me I am a cake connoisseur! The staff were very busy but took the time to welcome everyone with a smile. It's not cheap but the price is reflected in the portion sizes. I can't wait to return

The cakes we had were good, but the cafe itself needs to improve on hygiene, all the cakes are openly exposed and there were lots of flies going on it which is really not acceptable. They also have the knives and forks in a draw at the front which is irritating as staff kept going back and fourth and that's where the queue forms, so they need to rethink the layout as it felt very cramped.

It's hard to say how long Juliet's cafe has been going or to remember a time when it wasn't there. It's always had positive reviews from my friends and will get the same from me.

Excellent selection of cakes with large portions. Wide range of teas that come in an interesting selection of teapots and cups - all seem to be different. Busy place on a Saturday and there's only a few seats outside, but don't let that put you off - I mean how many days of the year do you want to sit outside.

My daughter and I often visit Juliet's and, as we like the cakes so much, she ordered a surprise cake for our 50th wedding anniversary. A huge thank you to Juliet for making it so delicious and a very special mention for both Juliet and Penny for all their kindness - they are both superstars!

The cake spread is nothing short of amazing, you just cannot decide between them! It’s not the cheapest cafe and it’s always a squash , there is an upstairs barely used. Service is friendly.

Very bad experience ordered baked potato beans, cheese and side salad High lipped Plate arrived with potato cut open a little cheese on it and a pool of baked beans mostly sauce all over the whole plate including the few leaves of salad -not acceptable tasteless and looked a mess. However, staff very friendly and I was offered a replacement but as in a group timing would have been difficult

Very slow to get a tea and latte around 15/20 minutes. Good value for money breakfast but eggs were like rubber and hash browns very greasy. Was busy and clearly popular but I wouldn’t rush back

Had a Christmas meal. food was lovely staff were helpful, unfortunately the bar manager let the whole Experience down, the bar had to close early due to an electrical fault as I was already stood up when they notified us of this I left my wallet on the table we were sitting at, when I realised this I rushed back to get it and he told me I hadn’t left it there and claimed I had drunk to much (I had 2 pints at this point), he then took my number down which took him 5 attempts to get it right and as I went to leave he tried to give me the bit of paper that had my number on it. Not sure he was fit to be working that night but was extremely unhelpful. very stressful situation as there was quite a substantial amount of money and all my bank cards in it.

The Chequers just gets better & better ! Always warm friendly service with good food, but recently they have added a new chef who is absolutely amazing……..Certainly in my eyes ( and my friends ) it is now THE best pub in the area.
