Brilliant place. Good decent, honest food. Had some lovely breakfast sandwiches and hot drinks. Friendly and welcoming staff. Would recommend!

Food was ok. Expensive for what it is. Didnt like there being a starling flying around the tables indoors AND when we asked for serviettes we were given a half used toilet roll. Yes, you read correctly, a half used toilet roll!

Terrible. We ordered a milkshake for £2.50, turns out it’s just a cup of milk with a bit of nesquik powder mixed with it. The burger and chips where £7.00. The chips where reheated chips that where far too crispy to eat and the burger was just a patty in a bun, no salads sauces or anything. Cost 50p for extra cheese as well. I had a bad feeling about this cafe when I walked in and saw the dirty grill.

A “PROPER” Cafe with a sea view! This place is not trendy, its not a fashionable eatery house serving froth on over priced coffees, its a slightly run down cafe at the rear of an amusement arcade. Now that bits out of the way….its one of Hayling Islands hidden gems. Friendly and helpful staff, great prices and really good tasty food. Our breakfasts were lovely, a proper full english but with tasty bacon and really orange eggs. Perfect! One of our group just wanted a small snack (not on the menu) and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. We’ll be back again soon!

This place will be the best on the Island when all you people get hear during the summer. It's a nice place now, but not well known, but it will be. This young lady does a mean hotdog, and good bacon sarnies. She also looks after all the locals when they come in off the streets for a bite to eat, and get a good view of the Solent with all the cruise liners floating buy. Lovely seating out side in the Sun, and get a tan for the summer

Rubbish, funniest omelette I've ever seen, chips way over cooked and £2.80 for a small glass of flat Pepsi, they need to go to other poppins to see how it's done, never again

The food wasn't cheap but the Sunday roast was abysmal. Rock hard potatoes, the staff couldn't care less and decided as I wanted to swap red cabbage for cauliflower cheese, this would cost me a side dish. I declined but ended up with the red cabbage taken off my plate. It took nearly 50 minutes to get food despite it being half empty. A huge disappointment.

We had a lovely weekend stay at the Brookfield hotel. We had a function on the Saturday night which was a 7 course meal and I have to say I was blown away with the service and the reassurance of my gluten free options, I could literally have exactly the same dishes as everyone else with just a couple of tweaks I couldn’t believe it! A lovely gentleman served me who I think was a manager (I am so sorry I cannot remember his name) which made me feel so looked after as it can be daunting eating out somewhere new! All staff were helpful and made the evening run smoothly it was very professional! The room was basic but clean and had everything we needed, the only thing I would say is more plug sockets but that’s not the end of the world! Also it was a bit expensive for room service as a sausage and bacon sandwich ended up being £13.45 including tray service but again with inflation maybe that’s why it was that much! Apart from that there was plenty of parking at a small charge and the hotel was easy to get around. Thank you for looking after us, it was the best meal I’ve had as a coeliac plus the most I’ve ever been able to eat!

Decided to try Coastguard after reading reviews and have to say that overall it is well worth a visit. We had small portions of cod, chips and peas which was delicious- lovely crispy batter! A log fire was burning although I don’t think it had been going for long as it was still on the cool side in the restaurant. The only downside was the tea - to be honest it was pretty awful and I suggest you avoid it completely.
