Take out fish and chips had changed hands and service not as good as before also food was cold when got home and poor quality may be using old fat for frying will not go again

We discovered this chippy around November and were hesitant as we saw some negative reviews, only to find that these pertained to previous owners. We bit the bullet and gave it a go and we are delighted we did. The fish is lovely and chips very good. This as a result is our go to chippy. We have bought from here 5 times now and every time it’s been as good as the last. It’s well worth a try

We stayed in Retford overnight on our way north so that we could have fish and chips in this restaurant. The fish was large and delicious and the chips and peas were a good accomplement! There was a lot of choice but we came especially for Fish and Chips. John from Dorset

Ordered a delivery of Fish bites which were soggy pizza meal and doner kebab It was pizza and just doner meat No pitta salad or sauce which I asked for in the comments box..Rang to complain They said that's how it comes I checked the wording and it defo said doner kebab I rang them again and she just said I will pass it on. Definitely won't return! Stay clear if you want to enjoy your food!! Waste of £30.

All I ordered was 2 lots of chips and the wait was disappointing communication between staff not good the delivery driver tried his best to hurry the order along. Chips was cold and the curry sauce had to be rewarded in my microwave. Will not be back

I visited today for lunch with my wife and mother in law. We all had fish and chips with peas. We were made to feel very welcome by all the staff and the food was excellent both in terms of taste and quantity. The value for money was very good too. Definitely the best fish and chips we have eaten in a long time. All in all well worth the almost 100 mile round trip from Breedon on the Hill. Thank you. Rod Theaker

Popped in for dinner, had the mega haddock and chips plus curry sauce, bread and butter and a cup of tea, good value for money, good food and great staff

Called in on the off chance on a Friday evening. Got a table and asked if they did fish and salad instead of chips for one of our party, which they were very happy to do. The fish was freshly cooked and of good quality and size. The salad was well presented and those of us who had chips thought they were great. Staff were helpful and polite.

Hungry on way back home from Sheffield, found on google. Delicious fresh food, no problem to do batter free fish. Service with a smile and very fast. Would recommend if you’re in the area or passing through

I’ve never had a bad takeaway before But tonight the cod was cold in the middle And the chips were freezing The owner wasn’t there a young man cooked it I’m so upset because it was always great in the past

We have eaten in the restaurant and ordered fish & chips to take home. The fish is fresh, moist and cooked to order - the restaurant is spotlessly clean and the takeout order is packed in strong boxes for transport. Best of all is the staff, always obliging and friendly.

Excellent fish and chips, eat in or take-away. Reasonably priced and the service is good. All food is freshly cooked.

Buy one meal get the other half price was an excellent offer. The meal we had was Fish & Chips, bread and butter, pot of tea and a bottle of Merlot. This came to £20.65 - an amazing price. Great customer service and friendly welcome by the owner.

We had haddock and chips it was cooked perfectly with bread and butter mushy peas and cup of tea all only 90pence extra good value meal. Definitely the best fish and chips we have ever had .

Total waste of money. re heated chips yet not hot! Great if you like to play' hunt the fish' lurking inside naff batter. Don't waste your money.The only half decent thing was the bottle of vinegar.

Worst fish shop in the world. Chips were old and had a horrible taste, Fish, batter no flavour as the fish, could have had some seasoning. Coffee cold. The young staff were very friendly, But food made me sick. Beyond a joke. Rubbish avoid.

Went here yesterday evening after picking husband up from the train station. A friend had recommended the place. The premises are basic, but spotless, wooden tables, comfortable chairs. They do handmade pizza but we'd been told about the fish and so both had the haddock....
