Took my kids here for ice creams. Ordered one in a tub as my 5 year old is coeliac so can't have a cone. Asked if the ice cream contains gluten and the girl serving said she didn't know. Asked if she could check in ingredients and she said she couldn't. Asked if she had any allergen information and she reluctantly picked up a pile of paperwork and said it didn't say. Decided to take the risk as ice cream is usually ok. She then presented me with an ice cream in a cone. Reminded her that I asked for a tub. She then turned her back to me, but craning my neck I was able to see that she just tipped the (now contaminated with gluten) ice cream into a tub and tried giving it to me. I asked for a fresh one without any contamination and was then presented with a lump of ice cream the size of a small egg. "Is that all you get?" I asked. "Yep. One scoop." Came the helpful reply. "Jeez" I answered. This prompted another member of staff to have a go at me saying "Leave her alone, she's just doing her best." "Yes but she's just not listening!" Said the lady behind me in the queue, who had obviously witnessed this terrible service. My 5 year old was really disappointed with the pitiful lump of ice cream, so we had to go to a pub called De Koffee Pot just down the road where they had a whole gluten free menu and the staff were really friendly and totally understood the importance of allergens. The ice cream there came in proper portion sizes and was actually much nicer too, and you get to sit overlooking the river. Wish we'd gone there first! So anyway, if you've got coeliac disease, give this place a miss. If you've got any serious allergies, DEFINITELY AVOID or you could end up seriously ill.

This place is my absolute favourite place to go to and order from in the whole of Herefordshire! Their food is absolutely delicious. The portion sizes are generous and the staff are lovely and friendly. Whenever anyone asks for recommendations for where to eat in Hereford, I point them in JJ's direction.

A fabulous breakfast with cocktails in Hereford. Lovely staff & great food! Only spoilt by a grumpy customer going on about a burger that was served pink in the middle. Who thought it shouldn’t be served that way because he’d asked an AI !!! Unbelievable really. Complaining about it after it was all eaten. So ignore that review folks. 😊

Sooo I hadn’t been here in a very long time and I remember why…. The food is nice and the coffee was lovely but I came really for my children to have a play whilst I had coffee and the play area is lacking, there is all sorts off role play buildings but not equipment in them to role play with so just a shell. I really do hope they will add these as it’s a nice place to go.

Lovely place, lots of space, we were able to come in with our pushchair and were welcomed with smiles from the staff. Plenty of seating indoor and out and high chairs and play area for little ones. Food was delicious, well priced and served quickly! We’ll be back.

Had the homemade lamb faggots and they were delicious. When I heard it was lamb week again couldn't wait to have one. Originally tried last September but my review didn't save. Dan's expertise in the kitchen is excellent. Going back for rack of lamb for my other half - I may have to have the faggots again.

Staying at Warners Holme Lacey for a 3 day break and arriving early decided to look elsewhere for lunch and found the riverside restaurant. One of the best homemade beefburgers. Highly recommended.

Really friendly and welcoming village pub. I have eaten here many times and the food is always excellent. As it’s all freshly cooked to order they are happy to tailor dishes where practical. Highly recommended for a visit.
