What a delightful visit we had here. Delightful little place, got a real traditional feel to it and plenty of choice in the way of lunches and cakes. I had mushrooms on toast, a simple yet substantial dish, while my boyfriend enjoyed his sandwich. The service was fantastic, all really friendly! My only negative experience was using the toilets, where you've got to go across the little way to an antiques shop. This isn't a problem in itself and I happily relieved myself. However, the staff in there were shouting and swearing. Even when he saw me walk past he said, "Listen (female dog)" really loudly. Not aimed at me I don't think but felt a bit uncomfortable. This ot course is no fault of Jennys but perhaps the staff at the antiques shop could be a bit more considerate.

We were going to go to Betty’s but took a look at the prices - £20 for a croque monsieur!! I’m sorry, what?! I’m sure it’s very nice but non. So we looked for a local tearoom and this came up. It’s close by but a little hard to find, so I’d recommend using your phone to find it. It’s a bijou place but is done out very nicely indeed. It struck me that one could be back in the 80s or 90s and little would have changed. So it’s like a trip back in time, but in a good way. The menu is reasonably varied and the prices are good. I had a very nice cake and toasted teacake. It was a most enjoyable way to pass an hour.

Poped in for a latte & lunch and weren't disappointed. We both had a latte & paninni tuna melt which was well filled and very tasty and really good value as it came with a little fresh crunchy side salad, coleslaw & crisps. It's a lovely little coffee shop which offers very reasonably priced cream tea which we were tempted by but just not quite hungry enough to do justice. Would definitely recommend visiting if in the area.

Dariusdave’s Pennine Explorer continues Wednesday 16th September after a canal trip from Shipley we reached Harrogate by coach in time for a late lunch. Strolled to Montpellier Mews Antique Market and sighted small blackboard notice on pavement for Jenny’s Tea Shop.Eldest daughter is Jenny so fate dictates must give it a try. Dariusdave is awaiting a replacement knee walks with a stick and finds standing in queues difficult. Entrance, amongst antique shops, disguised by Covid precautions, is challenging. Customers have to spot the freestanding board, ring the ancient bicycle bell and wait in the open air. A friendly lass appeared unhooked a green rope and welcomed Dariusdave to the only free single table inside circa 13:05. Passed a laminated menu and allowed Dariusdave to read.Jenny’s Tea Shop has tables inside and under large patio umbrellas outside. Menus are laminated and sanitised before being passed to new customers. I observed very strict Covid precautions and felt totally safe even if premises are bijou. This is a classic family business, everyone works very hard together offering a no-nonsense menu of real food. Young lass welcomes customers, takes orders cleans tables. Tall man brings out cooked food and works in kitchen as well as his mom.I tested flexibility and asked for cheese and bacon jacket potato with salad (menu had different combinations). What arrived was a cornucopia of delights. Two small jacket potatoes, because Sept too early for larger new maincrop potatoes which will arrive later. A fantastic fresh salad: - various greens, toms, red onion, peppers, grated carrot and cucumber, plus a very Yorkshire item crisps. See photos. Jacket skins crisp as I like them and was offered sachets of mayo but real treat a very small jug of vinaigrette dressing very tasty.Normally that would be a very good lunch, but after ordering while waiting for main to be served I read a few trip advisor reviews on my phone. There was a consensus that the Coffee & Walnut cake was a house special. Plus, menu mentioned all coffees were made with fresh ground beans. Couldn’t resist the temptation to have an early afternoon coffee and cake. See photo, home-made cake texture distinct coffee flavour with large walnut pieces. Waitress ascertained for me beans were Douwe Egberts, these Dutch men having been selling coffee products since 1753. Both cake and coffee (black no sugar) were really yummie, sheer indulgence.Dariusdave has passed his 3 score years and 10, this was a first visit to Harrogate. Should I visit again will definitely return to Jenny’s Tea Shop.

Cosy, tearoom in a quiet square in central Harrogate. Service brisk and efficient. Lunch time so Ploughman’s seemed a good option. Generous portions but I’d swap quantity for quality. 3 pieces of supermarket, flavourless and immature cheese accompanied, not by proper ham but a slice of what I think is called, reconstituted ham. It remained on the side of my plate. Pork pie was also average. If I had been in a pub this would have been an acceptable Ploughman’s but not here. In a specialist tea shop I would also expect loose leaf tea, not teabags. My wife had the tea whilst I had Americano coffee which was properly made. The worst shock was the lavatories, so small that there was no social distancing when I was pressed against the lav door whilst a very large gentleman attempted to exit. Wash basin, door knob, loo paper and air dryer all within about 2 feet of each other. If you are squeamish about Covid then don’t visit these lavatories!

Such a nice find after watching the hoards queue up at that 'famous' tea shop, I now know they were not getting anywhere near the quality and value we did! Delicious, generously filled sandwiches, cakes galore and friendly service to boot. Move away from the branded and get yourself a proper Yorkshire afternoon tea from local people.

We’ve visited Jenny’s many times and always been looked after brilliantly by staff, enjoyed delicious food and appreciated the oasis it offers in the hubbub of a busy Harrogate, more quaint and quirky than any other places you’ll find nearby. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting the town.

Whilst having a ladies shopping trip we called in for some lunch. Ive visited many times before and wanted a few of my friends to try. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Always smiling and chatty. The sandwiches are made with soft freash bread and plenty of filling. You cant go in a tea room without having tes and scones. The scones are delicious. Even my friend who doesnt eat scones enjoyed hers. Looking forward to revisiting.

The staff are great. They accommodated our new baby and made sure we had room for the pram. The food is the best quality whenever we come. Every time we come it makes me think why we didn't eat there before this year!.

Stumbled on this little eatery while visiting Knaresborough on a Sunday lunch time. We went in to get maybe a sandwich and thought it wasn’t going to be great to be honest but ended up having a cooked lunch and it was so good! The place was busy and you could tell they were locals as they were chatting across to each other. We looked at the menu and decided to have have a cooked meal. I ordered pie chips and peas and my husband a burger with chips salad and coleslaw and a pot of tea. You could actually get a 3 course Sunday lunch for £14.50! When mine came there were no peas but another bowl soon arrived full of fresh vegetables and a big jug of gravy. Food was really good the staff were lovely. The lady said that as she had been cooking Sunday lunches she gave me some of the veg. We were thoroughly impressed and wouldn’t hesitate to visit again. Great food and great value for money! Definitely worth trying!

Recently stayed for 3 nights whilst at a conference. All of the staff were incredibly welcoming and chatty, room (no.4) was clean, comfortable, spacious and homely. The Full Yorkshire Breakfast was the absolute star of the show, best I've had in years, and the location spot on for the town centre shops and bars and conference centre. Highly recommend staying here

Good range of dishes from small to large. Panini was very good! Salad served with it. Crisps come with sandwiches too! Very good range of cakes too!

Popped in whilst looking for a quick lunch. Very unusual setting for a tea room but works well with about 10 tables set up between the pews & the altar. The pews act as an overflow area if all tables are taken but we arrived as one was being vacated. Very friendly staff, a relaxing atmosphere and excellent value for money. Menu is limited to a choice of rolls, soup and a tempting range of homemade cakes & scones. Rolls could have improved if pickle, mustard or mayonnaise had been offered but the cakes & scones made up for this as they were very nice. The church itself is a delightful building and worth a visit in it’s own right. An interesting alternative lunch option.
