Last night I visited The Jalori for the first time. My wife had already been a few times and really thought I'd like it. I didn't 'like it'. Instead, I loved it so much that as someone of 57 years-old, who must have eaten in at least 500 Indian restaurants, I'm about to say something ridiculous. Ready? Okay. The rajasthani laal maas I had was the best curry I've ever eaten. It was accompanied by a naan so light and fluffy that I thought I'd have to weight it down to prevent it floating away. I also tried a bit of my wife's biriyani and saag panir which were both well balanced and full of flavour. My final point is considering our booking was peak time on a Saturday (and we chose to forego starters) our food came quickly and the service was attentive throughout. I simply cannot wait to go again and can only say congratulations to everyone involved in producing this food.

Lovely food, enjoyed the atmosphere, very busy for 7pm on a Friday night, the reason I have given 4 stars is because they added 2 glasses of wine to our bill, I was very annoyed about this, we also wanted to take away our left overs, they bought the take away containers to the table! We had to package it ourselves! We didn’t expect that from a quality restaurant

Fantastic night out, excellent food and great service! The food was brilliant, full of flavour and really well presented. The service was great, with all our wants attended to despite how busy the restaurant became. Overall a great experience and will definitely be coming regularly for my Indian.

We have been eating here for longer than I care to remember, probably over 20 years. The service and food is almost always top notch, our less than 0.1% disappointment rate is pretty good I feel. As with everything in life there are the occasional hiccups.

Have had our custom for years ! Not going back after the awful takeaway we gad tonight! Second poor meal in a row ! It seems their standards have really slipped! To be fair to the manager he offered us a free meal but it’s about the meal you had last ! Would not want that again ! Had a spicy meal that had no spice plus both our meals were drowns in water ! I had fairly high expectations of this restaurant because of previous reviews. Unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. Instead of cutlery being placed nicely it was literally thrown in front of people so we had to place it ourselves! Very rude. The service was very poor, we waited 30 mins for our first drink and an hour for starters. My crab starter was very bitter in flavour and not pleasant. The mains were ok but nothing to write home about but that's a personal preference. We had to ask twice but water and a glass. Then there was a dispute over the deposit we'd paid as this wasn't deducted from our bill. A very disappointing experience and I will not be returning. The attitude of the staff was poor and they would have had a much better review had they not been so rude. We also would have spent more money on drinks if the restaurant had been accommodating, we just wanted to eat and leave!

Great, welcoming staff who couldn't do enough for their guests. Delicious food - Poppadom's, starters, mains... cooked to perfection. The restaurant underwent refurbishment during covid lockdown and is quite swish! Under new management within the same family, they strive for the best possible customer experience. There are other Indian restaurants in the area, however this is by far the best, always has been and has a reputation for being the top favourite.

We visited Jalori located in Woburn Sands on a mid-week night in October 2022 as part of our ongoing ‘Curry Tour’. The restaurant is very trendy and could be described as quite ‘posh’. It was clean, which always inspires confidence. Waiting staff were on the whole pleasant enough, but nothing special. The usual starter of poppadums arrived swiftly with the pickle tray. Whilst the pickles and raita were pretty good, the poppadums have won the award for the worst tasting we have experienced so far! They were stale and obviously days old. Instead of being crisp and warm, they were literally chewy! I now know what poppadum chewing gum would taste like. Absolutely awful and it really didn’t give us much confidence in the forthcoming main course, which was a shame as this was actually good. Portion size was on par with other restaurants and both dishes (veg madras and a chicken dish) were tasty, nicely spiced and enjoyable. Rice was also good, although on the small portion side, but the naan bread was excellent. Price wise it was fairly good value. Despite raising a complaint about the terrible popoadums, we were still charged for them! Our overall view was that although it was good, it was not good enough to return to. There are better restaurants out there....

I was recommended to try this restaurant many months ago, I visited on the 3rd and the 4th of October. The food was so good on the first visit I returned the following evening as well. The staff were very polite and helpful but let's not underestimate the chefs, the food was very nice indeed. Great food and lovely people. Keep up the good work, I will see you all when I return in November.

Visited here with my wife on Sunday evening. Food was very fresh, flavoursome and well presented. Service was attentive but not overbearing. Great value for money. Would recommend and I will return.

Once again tonight we have had a wonderful meal at the Jalori. The food and service is always excellent and the staff are so friendly. It's our favourite and we'll be back next week.

this only applies to the take away service - ordered my meal and was expecting delivery after 1hr 15 mins. I understand it was busy so -no problem with this time. Phoned to be told food was on its way - driver not sure of where you are - this was just a delaying tactic. Over 2 hours later the food was delivered - it was just about warm - so had probably been sitting in the back of the car whilst the driver was delivering to other customers. sadly the food was very average as well. hence terrible service rating.

We booked a table at the Jalori after a gap of 3-4 years. We ordered Jalori Special Mix, shared starter then Sizzler Juliet and Lamb Nehari main courses. We had Mushroom Rice, Mushroom Bhaji, a Chapati and two glasses of house red wine. It was 6:30 and the restaurant was already close to full and the atmosphere was very good. The staff were attentive, quickly served the wine and took the order. We did not wqait long for the Starter and it was just delicious and perfect portion size. The main courses were as delicious particularly the Lamb Nehari sauce. We left nothing, enjoyed absolutely everything helped by the staff, atmosphere and very well prepared courses. It will not be 3-4 years before we visit again but more likely 2-3 weeks. It was an excellent evening and would highly recommend it and good value for money.

Im usually quite fussy when it comes to Indian food and i have never been fully satisfied with what i have got from other businesses around the area. I was recommended by a friend to go to Jalori and i can honestly say that the products, prices and the customer service provided here is excellent. Will definitely be a regular customer from now on! Ps. I recommend the Gholda Murgh Janeman, it contained King prawns, Tandoori chicken strips, and spicy minced meat, succulent, mouth watering and absolutely delicious! Top quality stuff!!

Visited last night (Saturday) before a concert at the Stables in Wavendon. Staff were really pleasant and polite and l can honestly say l was served the best, most tasty king prawn dhansak l have ever had! That's saying something from a Birmingham girl who's been pretty much bought up on curries!Nice atmosphere and exceptionally clean everywhere. ( Toilets good and clean too. Puts me off a restaurant if these aren't clean enough..)Will definitely make this my "go to" Indian restaurant on future visits.

Spare of the moment Sunday buffet lunch and I will be going back for sure. Lots of choice on the starters and all yummy not so many choices on the mains but my korma was lovely. Staff were friendly too which makes all the difference.

Came here with my work team as a last minute trip out - booked with ease. Friendly service and the food was excellent. I had the sharing platter for starter(shared) - this was enormous, so bare that in mind! :) I also had the Rajastani Laal Maas i think its called - it was one of the best dishes i have tasted and the Peshwari naan that went with it was perfect. I would definitely recommend and i will be going back.

Having just arrived from my home in Mallorca I was desperate for a decent curry and this certainly delivered above and beyond that. The chicken tikka masala was one of the best I’ve ever eaten and my husbands (I think it was called) lamb Bangla Naga was delicious. The excellent food was only matched by the excellent service, Musa and his team where beyond lovely. Will be visiting every time I’m back in the UK! Thank you all so much xxx

Having not been here for 10 years we decided to visit. The place has had a refit and the decor is good. Same staff and and levels of service! Highly recommended for a great night out and delicious food!

In short: served dairy when intolerant, despite asking and the menu stating something didn’t contain dairy. When pointed out staff offered no apology. Don’t eat here if you have any allergy or intolerance.Longer story: I ordered from this place with a friend who eats here a bit. They don’t eat dairy and were told a while ago that one of the dishes was vegan. Essentially the menu has an allergen card on it which states that dishes that contain dairy are marked with a ‘D’. There was a vegetable dish which said it contained cream but had no Dairy ‘D’ marker on it and so they checked a while back, thinking it might be coconut cream, and were told that it was dairy free. They’ve since been ordering it loads. Today when I ordered with them I double checked and was told by a different member of staff that it is in fact full dairy cream. We asked why there was no ‘D’ sign on the menu and my friend pointed out (fairly upset) that she’d been told a while back that it was vegan. The serving member of staff neither apologised nor seemed to give a rats ass. He just said that it could be made without dairy but probably wouldn’t taste good. He was dismissive and unconcerned. At no point during our time there did he or anyone else give any apology for the fact that they’d been serving my friends dairy for a while or for the fact that their menu clearly doesn’t actually mark out the allergens correctly. Really unhappy with this place. We are just really lucky my friend’s allergy isn’t severe, else this could have ended up a much darker story. I would suggest anyone with an allergy avoid this place like the plague. It seems the staff have no idea what their food contains and give no cares about potentially serving people food they are allergic to.

We had a lovely meal here on Saturday. After our favourite restaurant decided to close down we were glad to see they had joined Jalori and that the food was just as good.

Amazing food, the staff are really friendly food came quick it was great customer service. I will definitely recommend anyone to visit this restaurant if they want a nice indian meal with lovely atmosphere:)

Never had a bad meal or takeaway.

The menu has sections that say speciality, chef’s recommendations and something else that’s difficult to distinguish. Plus, having not grown up in India or the U.K., I’m not well versed in Indian cuisine names, so it was completely difficult to understand their long menu.

We have been visiting this restaurant and ordering takeaways for the past 4 years and when I rang on Saturday I was asked where we lived, I quoted Salford - I know the motorway bridge is closed you have been delivering to my house regularly since the road has been closed, I was quoted at least a two hour wait before even knowing what we wanted to order, its as if know I do not want to deliver to Salford.

This takeaway was nothing short of disgusting!

Family visit to the Jalori. Friendly welcome as always. Great service and consistent quality food as always. We always visit the Jalori when we are in Milton Keynes and never disappointed.

Unplanned visit as we were intending to go to the lovely Sands Brasserie but found that's shut on a Tuesday so we wandered along to the Jalori. Difficult to get served even though only 2 tables occupied as the waiter was near the bar area and we were sitting at the back of the restaurant. Could taste the texture of the lentils and the chicken was lean and tender but the sauce in the dhansak was fairly bland. Methi lamb was tender but again bland and couldn't taste the fenugreek. Think they are catering too much for what they may assume is the British palette. Good naan bread and excellent rice. Wine, cheap and cheerful. Service ok. Overall it's average, just need to spice it up.

We had a lovely meal for valentines day.

Got off to a bad start…. Once seated we all commented on a disgusting smell…. What was it? We picked up our menus, and that was it! The menus are laminated and had been cleaned with a dirty cloth and closed whilst still wet, which resulted in a horrible dirty smell. We ordered our meals; and poppadoms’ to start. The poppadoms’ arrived quickly, but we were served our starters before we had finished the poppadoms’. We felt under pressure to hurry our meal. However, the repeat drinks order was extremely slow to arrive. The food was average, nothing special but not awful. We won’t bother using this restaurant again, there are so many good Indian restaurants in the area.

We stopped here recently 25 years after our last visit when we lived in MK, the restaurant is still great, service good and food excellent. They knew we were in a hurry and got the orders and food done very quickly. Still great after all these years.

First visited here more than a year and am glad to report standards haven't slipped. Joined a group of more than dozen for a fine buffet feast. Fresh food and no skimping on the portions. Excellent service.

Does not accept card payments over the phone for the weekend delivery? Appalling! Was incapacitated and looking forward to a nice Indian from Jalori who normally accept the ancient art of cheque payment upon delivery refused cheques from anyone anymore and insisted I collect only !!

Went with family and friends. Place is fabulous for Indian food. Décor is very smart, food is great and cater if you don't like it to spicy, very helpful. Lot's of dishes to chose from so spoiled for choice, go and visit you won't be disappointed.

This Indian restaurant was highly recommended, so we booked for the Sunday Lunch buffet. There was a good and varied selection of dishes and plenty of food, but it was all very average rather than great.

Visited here for a midweek dinner. We didn't have a reservation but they were able to accommodate. Menu had lots of choice. Food was very fresh, full of flavour and well presented. Service was very good. All was enjoyed with some draught Cobra beer.

The food was great. Flavours on point. Portions just the right size. I did like the fact that duck was on the menu, not a common thing in Asian food. Nice to enjoy Asian food home style cooked. Prices quite reasonable.

Decided to try the Sunday buffet. It was excellent. Good selection of dishes and plenty of it to eat. The quality of the food was, as we had come to expect from the Jalori, first class.

Great venue in Woburn high street, staff are always welcoming! Food is great and the menu has a number of different offerings which aren’t the usual standard menu find which is great to see and try.

Visited on three previous occasions, it our Sunday buffet restaurant of choice as it never disappoints, in fact we are going tomorrow. One family member is vegetarian and there enough on offer to satisfy us all. The food is always delicious, lots on offer, a most enjoyable meal.

As visitors in the area having enjoyed a lovely day at Woburn Abbey, my wife and I were looking forward to a good meal out - and the Jalori looked a good bet according to some reviews. So we arrived for our 7.30 booking, took our seats whereby poppadums and drinks arrived promptly ... and there any attempt at decent or even civil service ended! As time elapsed the restaurant filled a little, although it was hardly heaving, being a wet Wednesday night. Half an hour, then three quarters elapsed, but when a couple on the next table arrived half an hour behind us, were served quickly, received their bill (with a smile and a chat) and scoffed their mints ... and STILL no food for us - enough was enough!! Yet during all the times they scurried past our table, not once did a waiter ask if we were ok. Enough was enough - and only when we complained did our meal miraculously arrive - within seconds strangely! A re-heat perhaps? Who knows, but to be fair it was ok for all that. Yet, even on leaving we were more or less told we'd done well having had a 10% discount. The fact that this is only because we presented a voucher appeared to go over our hosts head completely - it certainly had nothing to do any attempt to make amends on their part! We paid - grudgingly - and departed ... for good!!

We went for the Sunday buffet which is on every week but frequently go on evenings too. This time we were served by Khan who was very friendly and even let us take some food from the buffet home for later. The food is always delicious and the service is great.

There's a good welcome, a nice clean ambiance and an extensive menu. It is mid-range price and helpings are generous and tasty. My most recent visit did need several prompts to get the jug of water we asked for and we had a number of different waiters this time - it tends to be more efficient if the same one looks after the table. Great bottle of wine (Merlot) and we paid around £30 a head for two courses, rice/naan, alcoholic drinks and poppadums with dips. We plan to go back on second Tuesdays of the month as they are introducing a buffet and quiz evening.

We came here for my brothers birthday, and I have never tasted a curry so fresh and with so much flavour. I'm pregnant and it's such a shame I'm 45mins away as I have non stopped craved it.The tandoori king prawn jalfrezi is lovely. There is great portions in the main dishes but side dishes could be a little bigger.cant wait to get back and visit!!

Jalori is my favourite Indian restaurant in the woburn sands area. The food is delicious and very reasonably priced and the service friendly and welcoming. You can't go wrong here either eating in or having a takeaway.

Not my usual restaurant but having recently moved I have visited twice after many years and the food remains excellent. Abdul and his team are always attentive and friendly and you are guaranteed to enjoy your meal.

We popped in for a quick dinner on Sunday evening to enjoy what is always a high quality of meal. We regularly use the Jalori for takeaway or delivered meals and have never been disappointed. The restaurant was quiet and the service was very good. We decided to just have the main course and quickly got through our meal and were ready to move on. While everything was fine, I could not help wonder what was wrong with the manager. He looked as miserable as sin, in fact, he looked as if he'd swallowed a wasp. Business might have been slow but a smile wouldn't hurt!

We have been dining at this restaurant regularly for 15 years, and have tried most items on the menu - which all taste delicious and are presented very well. The service is very exceptional - especially Khan the waiter - who is always very welcoming and polite. He makes a fuss of our young son too, who absolutely adores him and comes to the restaurant to see him, as much as to have a jalori tandoori chicken and punky!

We go get a takeaway every Saturday without fail. Perfect food with fantastic service. Welcomed every week by name.order is never wrong and never cold. All staff lovely especially Khan would give more stars if possible best restaurant in mk

A good standard of service and food. Nothing particularly outstanding but some slightly unusual dishes. Dinner for two £30 each which is a little expensive.

Above average quality and quantity; the Sunday Buffet Lunch is very good for 'multi-plate' eaters.Usually plenty of room as it is a big restaurant.

My first visit to an Indian restaurant this summer. And I wasn't disappointed. Good selection of food and handsome helpings. In fact, so much food that I left with a doggy bag which provided me with a fine dinner the following night. I'll be back.

I now live locally and have enjoyed many a Jalori evening meal. I recently discovered the Sunday lunch buffet. Very nice! Great value for under £10. I'm planning on going again with a bigger group.

Just come back from Jalori after a great meal. Been a while since last visited as we live 30 minutes away but well worth coming back. Staff were all very helpful and attentive, especially Khan who couldn't do enough for us. Really good portion sizes and the flavours top quality compared to some other Indian restaurants. Our table had chicken dhansak, chicken shaslik, sizzling tandoori, chicken curry and Sagwalla and all plates were emptied! We won't leave it as long before coming back again

food was ok all looked very similar we had 4 mains and sides but not that impressed with any sorry for the bad review
