I came here with my late husband for a last dinner date before our divorce, my husbands diabetic and asked for no sugar in his drinks and 2 ice cubes, a young cargo lady came over and took our order, half an hr later she comes with a drink thats dripping down her arms and when my husband drank he burped so loudly and shouted sugar. After we wamnted to order desserts and tea but we saw the young lady doing so called tiktoks with a dangerous candle, we got really frustrated and we repoted to the managers but he completely ignored us , and he was dancing infront of us with a candle , so we gave them a tenner left , good riddance!!!

Thank you Balal for our usual special date night experience. Keep doing what you are doing. We will be back soon.

I wish I could've rated Jaipur higher because the food is great. But the service let us down on two key points - (1) they didn't seem to have been ready for our pre-booking and made us wait 10 mins while they got the table sorted; (2) their recently updated prices haven't made it on to the menus they gave us on the tables leading to some confusion. On the whole I'd still recommend Jaipur but they need to sort out these little inconsistencies.

A group of 8 of us were let down by another restaurant who prioritised greed over the customer experience by double booking and having no table available - that’s for another review. Jaipur stepped in and got us seated - the service and the food was to a very high standard but was also very good value, Jaipur and their staff rescued the night for us, highly recommend it

Used to be so good. Ordered on Friday at 5.30 pm. was told 1 HR wait. Ok. After 2 hrs we phoned back to be told the driver was on the way, 45 mins later the food arrives. Cold. Very cold. Chicken Jalfrezi meat was not good quality, spongy in texture, like defrosted meat might taste. Saag Paneer was ok. Tarka Daal was very good. Lamb Bhuna was nice too. Poppadoms crispy. Peshwari Naan burnt. We were aware we'd have to wait an hour(reasonably for dinnertime) but almost 3 hrs is the longest we've ever waited. Phone responder could have said it would be quicker to collect, but I expect our food was en route to a few addresses before it reached us. We understand places get busy, be sensible with delivery times. encourage collection if really busy, otherwise people may not return.

Ordered takeaway for collection, don't usually order from here, I was under the impression that this was a nicer quality Indian and so was a special treat. Oh how I wish I could rewind time. I have been up all night with D&V. I feel so ill. I had prawn starter and mix of chicken korma and chicken rogan josh. The poppadoms were stale and would not snap, I should have known something was off. I've been put off curry and won't ever order from this Indian again. Heed my warning! I really regret eating their curry last night. I also know it was this curry as I had not eaten anything for the rest of the day.

Sadly this is one of the very few restaurants that disappointed us. The food was really tasteless and not very warm - we asked for some kind of burner to keep the food hot, and the waiter just shrugged his shoulders and mumbled "we don't have any". The staff attitude was bad from the minute we arrived - no welcoming smile... it was as though they were doing us a favour... and when we departed we were completely ignored as we walked out. No "Thanks", or "Goodbye" - what appalling courtesy. I expect better than that if someone wants me to hand over my hard earned money! This restaurant is well worth avoiding. And perhaps the staff here should realise how many alternative restaurants there are in Newbury where customers can spend their money.

Firstly, I give the restaurant full credit for the way they implemented covid safety (tables well spaced out, staff wearing masks, hand sanitizers available and when tables were vacated they were quickly cleaned down). But the food; every dish was unforgivably bland. I have had more spice in a bowl of cornflakes. When I mentioned it to the waiter he said I should have asked for more spice when I ordered the meal! Um, no, you call yourself an Indian restaurant so please serve up properly spiced Indian food.

With the restaurant having shut down for a number of weeks as part of Coronavirus lockdown it was with great expectation we ordered a takeaway on their reopening (for takeaway only) and we were not disappointed, absence may have made the tastebuds grow fonder, but compared to the takeaway we bought during Jaipur's closure from another Newbury establishment tonight's fare was vastly superior, in fact it might have been even better than before! God I had forgotten how good their pilau rice is, I could just eat a plate of this but that would have meant I would have missed out on a sublime chicken jalfrezi. Even the popadums and pickles seemed extra tasty. If you want great Indian food at a good price then look no further.

I had a mixed meat starter and a garlic chilli chicken with special rice. My partner had a onion bhaji (four of them) and lamb korma. Along with the nan bread we had to take a doggy bag as there was so much. Nice atmosphere, good service and tasty food. Would recommend.

Went in on a Friday evening just before 7. A mixed crowd of diners with couple of large groups of lads, families and couples. We were quickly served and staff pleasant. I had the garlic chilli chicken. I found this rather tasteless with very little chicken. There was no spice or kick to the dish. My wife had a lamb and spinach dish. Again rather tasteless and not as good as other establishments in Newbury. If you are in a rush and need somewhere to eat quickly this is ideal otherwise I won’t be eating here again

We returned from a busy weekend trip and wanted somewhere to eat, our normal Indian restuarant is closed on a Monday but after a search we found this one was open. Booking was easy with their on line system . A bonus on arrival was being able to park right outside free of charge. The welcome was great, the menu selection good , prices very reasonable and the food was delicious . As I was driving I was delighted to find they had non alcoholic beer ( only one bottle in stock though ) and at a very fair price so a big tick in the box on that hobby horse!

We tried to book a table for 5 for early on a Saturday evening just before Christmas but found the restaurant was fully booked, but not wishing to miss out we ordered a take away instead, popadums + chutneys, curry + rice + bread and all was excellent with the currys and rice being completely indistinguishable from that served in the restaurant (my Chicken jalfrezi and pilau rice were extremely tasty and with just the right spiciness and heat) and the other items being also very good but a small notch down from what we have tasted in the restaurant previously (caused purely by packaging/transport times), we also received 15% off by picking up ourselves and judging by the parking availability we were not alone in doing this!).

I took my parents here and subsequently me and my partner went. The food was fantastic. We had chicken tikka and a korma. The peshwari NaN was really amazing. All of the food was super tasty and the staff were very welcoming. Will go back and recommend.

This place used to be so good. Last order I had was a bit rubbish, but I thought everyone has an off night. Ordered tonight and it was simply poor. Really bland, everything just tasted the same. Where was the kick from the spice? Time for the love affair to end and find myself a new regular.

Visited on Father's Day and enjoyed a wonderful meal. They serve the best Pilau rice going (and my accompanying Chicken Vindaloo was spot on too).

Sorry but this place is really tough to give any more than 3* - The food is average and the decor is just strange (Really Dated!) I've visited twice in 20 years and quite honestly nothing has changed from visit to visit. I'm sure there are worse curry houses around but there are also better ones as well.

Having visited this restaurant previously we asked if they could book a group of 16 of us which they accommodated. The food was excellent for all 16 of us and everyone got what they asked for. The drinks and food prices were very reasonable and we well tipped as a consequence. We will definitely be visiting again!

We have been to Jaipur 3 times before and have always had good service and food. I think they were understaffed on a race night. We had booked a table but wasn't ready no big deal as we were waiting for a friend to arrive. Hit and miss for drinks and food was not as good as previous occasions. Other people were kicking off but just lack of staff and communication. Don't think we will rush back in a hurry but every restaurant has a bad night here and there.

Waited 90 minutes for main course!!! No apology until we walked. Paid only for starters. Thanks for attempting to ruin a great day out with friends.

Seven of us went for the Tuesday banquet, despite being very busy service was very good and all the food arrived together.Excellent value for money and the food was delicious.

This used to be my local curry house, but haven't been in a few years now. I was glad to see the same guy running it and most of my favourites still in the menu.

As a relative newcomer to the area, my wife though experienced in this type of cuisine in London etc, hadn't tried this, from my perspective, excellent restaurant. The decor is tasteful, the right amount of light, the staff, attentive as always, the food, various chicken mains, naans, rices, sides were finely cooked and presented. From my previous experiences, top notch as always. My wife was very impressed, with the venue,the staff politeness and attentiveness, plus the authentically cooked dishes and service. Her final accolade, was to suggest we bring all our children with us next time.

Order took much longer to be ready than advised and when got it Home realised they had forgotten our naam breads!!! Food average otherwise.

This simply has to be the best Indian Restaurant in Newbury, I’ve not had the pleasure of eating in the restaurant as I’m single and therefore that’s not my sort of thing but I’ve had a couple of takeaways from them and this is one that I’ll certainly come back to time and time again.....only gripe is the lack of mixed pickles/mint sauce/onion salad if ordering online but the food quality is excellent

I have only visited this the once, and found the food well presented but a little bland. It may be that I chose the wrong things but the samosas that I had were not really authentic and tasted of nothing really. The Naan was nice and the curry OK. They have a Tuesday deal with a choice of anything from the menu within a set price for starter, main course and Naan or rice.

Just had to leave a review about the excellent curry we had last night. Delivered in good time. Lovely lamb tikka starter and onion bhajee followed by the tastiest chicken madras and chicken balti we've experienced in a very long while. Well done Jaipur.

The food was an hour late when we called to find out where are food was the restraint didn’t really care and just said it is would be their in 20 minutes it actually ended up being another 30 minutes. The food quality was awful there was absolutely no spice in any of the curries even thought they were listed as medium to hot they also seem to have forgotten to flavour their food as well. We obviously wouldn’t be using them again.

This is a pleasant little restaurant on Bartholomew Street, which always serves up good food at a very reasonable price. Staff are friendly and attentive. I particularly enjoy the Bengal Bhuna Fish Curry and the roti.

Asked for 1/2 tandoori chicken but they delivered 2 x 1/4 so you don't get any breast which is a bit disappointing. Having said that the tandoori was lovely, as was the lamb madras.

We preordered the food to our hotel for 6:45 pm. Once it was confirmed by Jaipur they said it is going to arrive on 6:55 pm. We wanted to pick it up outside the hotel, so we were standing outside from 6:45 pm onwards, just in case. In the end the food arrived at 7:35 pm, until then we were hangry and cold. The driver was quite friendly at least. However, we were really excited to finally be able to eat and wanted to indulge in the meals- just to experience that there was no spice whatsoever (after specifically asking for medium heat). The flavor all up was ok, slightly blend and one of the least exciting Indian meals I’ve ever had. We would have enjoyed it a lot more with some spice. One bit of hope- the Naan was quite good.

We ordered biriyani and got boiled rice. One of the dishes was missing. The Bhuna was watery. The tikka masala was just sugar. Absolute disappointment. Happy Mother’s Day.... Sad as used to be good here so will now have to find another place.

Perfect delivery time food was hot, tasty and as ordered. Slightly too much gee in the vegetable dish. Tandoori chicken was perfect!

I was eagerly looking forward to Indian food but it had no flavour. The lamb in the biryani was too hard. The prawn had too much tomato that overpowered the flavour of prawns/ green chilli. Very disappointed .

Uninspiring curries. Papadums were soft and delivered late. Not impresssed!

Disgusting korma was very dry! Naan bread was cold through Order two cans of coke 330ml and they gave us two tiny bottles of coke 200ml Won’t be ordering from here again!

this is the fourth time I have ordered from here on my account. my partner usually orders through his account. the first couple of times we’ve ordered, the food turned up within the allotted time, however the more often we order, the later the order has been arriving. today the app gave me an arrival time 1 hour later, which the restaurant then added 10 minutes to. 15 minutes after it’s due time, I checked the app and it said our food had been delivered. I called the restaurant and was told that the driver hadn’t even left yet!!! I have the lamb passanda, and it’s always lovely, but following our last few experiences, I won’t be ordering from here again.

the biggest thing missing from the meal was flavour. It was well cooked but missed the mark. I had difficulty distinguishing between dishes as they were so similar and the labelling on the boxes was cryptic at best. The rice was very good and so were the popadoms. The spices were very well hidden, leaving a lot to be desired.

The Jaipur has been our go-to Indian restaurant for many years and can be highly recommended for quality food, friendly staff and excellent value for money. We visit regularly either on our own or with friends and a warm welcome is always guaranteed.

There was no seasoning in any of the dishes. The chicken Biryani had absolutely no taste in spite of adding salt later. The poppadoms has been fried in some strange tasting oil, felt like the same oil had been used numerous number of times. Small but cosy welcoming restaurant. Very fast and attentitive service. Food was excellent thoroughly recommend the lamb special. Excellent choice of wines and spirits. First time visit will be back again.

This is our local Indian restaurant but I hadn't been to it for a few years. In the past I would have said it was just OK but we have been several times recently and really enjoyed the food. Perhaps they have had a change of chef. The food was nicely spiced and the meat and chicken lovely and tender. I would recommend it as it is very good for the price. The staff are polite, attentive and friendly.

After 1 hour I called them and they claimed another 15 minutes for delivery. After a further half an hour they then said it would take another 15minutes. Clearly they forgot about the order (again) which is why it took so long. Terrible service and a complete lack of awareness of the time they take to deliver. Worst delivery service in Newbury.

Visited with a friend on a weeknight. Service wasn't particularly great, but the food was nice enough. We both had mixed starters to start - meat was nice but onion bhajee was a bit greasy. Mains were big portions; good for people who like a large meal. Naan bread was good, but saag aloo didn't taste of much to me. Nice enough, although not my favourite in Newbury.
