Jai Ho in Wycombe

We’ve been coming to Jai Ho for years, despite there being a closer restaurant to home. The food is always fantastic. We stick to the same dishes pretty much and they are always at the same exemplary standard. We order on line and sometimes eat in the restaurant which has a really lovely atmosphere. The staff are attentive and very polite. I wouldn’t get a curry from anywhere else. Thank you Jai Ho, you are our favourite!

I have been eating here for years snd it's always been reasonable. Quality food not the best, but passable, tasty food. But tonight I got prawn soup with prawn bullets,this is probably the worst curry I've ever had,chef what happend was your 4 year old child doing the cooking. Not acceptable quality food under any circumstances.

First visit to Jai Ho. Pleasant and attentive waiters who were very efficient. Good menu choice and reasonably priced. Food was good. Ambience was just right and tables nicely spaced.

Ordered and collected a set meal around Christmas and it was good. Cheery helpful staff. Longish (20plus mins) wait as they were so busy even though I'd phoned order in 40 mins earlier.

Tried this restaurant and food is very flavoursome and spiced well .nice crunchy onion bahgees and tasty bombay aloo.i had chicken tika madras lovely

Jai Ho is the best Indian takeaway I’ve had from anywhere in Buckinghamshire, nowhere else even comes close. It’s reasonably priced, is always delivered within the time frame given and the food itself is a level above anywhere else I’ve tried. I used to use Jai Ho quite a lot a few years ago before moving away, now I live in the area again it’s great to see the standard is just as good as it was before. As a side note, the lime pickle you get with the poppadoms.. there must be extra chillis in that because WOW, that was strong, but great! Next time we fancy an Indian we know exactly where to go :-)

Although we had not been into this restaurant before and yet have lived in the area for many many years we were very impressed with the no-frills elegance and fresh ambience of the restaurant and very attentive staff who took time to explain the menu and special deals on offer. I great meal and good value for money we both left feeling we had been well looked after and will certainly be returning again for sure.

Staff didn’t want us there,very pushy, asking about next course before we had finished.chicken was tough,sauces where tinned tomatoes with pepper,side dishes were poor.probably the worst Indian restaurant I’ve been to for a long time.

We’ve been visiting Jai Ho for years and throughout there’s been a steady decline. We we due to have a BBQ for visiting family and changed the plan last minute due to the weather. Our order was wrong to start with and what we did have was unimpressive. The food was pretty bland and for what we ended up ordering it felt very expensive for the quality of the food that turned up. I can’t say we’ll ever plan to come back.

Having had a busy day gardening we decided, last minute, to order a take away from Jai-Ho. Our food arrived within 45 minutes piping hot and evidently freshly prepared. It was absolutely delicious. The Nan Bread so fresh it melted in the mouth, Onion Bhaji so delicate and crispy. All in all a feast that we thoroughly enjoyed after a busy day. Thank you Jai-Ho.

Love, love, love Jai-Ho. Wednesday night buffet is excellent value for money and the best curry ever. What really makes it great are the lovely, genuine and friendly staff. Always make us feel welcome and relaxed. Can’t recommend enough!

1 /10 for service there is a huge language barrier the staff look miserable the decor is from the 70s and food is drowned in oil ..

We have a takeaway every Friday night and tonight was different. If you have a new Chef keep him because the food was fresh full of fresh herbs much tastier than normal. Can't wait till next Friday.

Must have a different chef not as good as it normally is. Bland not a lot of flavour we spend over a thousand pounds a year here, might have to find another Indian Takeaway. Shame you get a bottle of beer free here as well.

Quality cooked food, tasty and not too oily. My wife doesn't like spicy food (a challenge when having Indian) but they recommended a dish and she loved it. Thumbs up from me as we can have takeway Indian again!

The restaurant is modern, very clean and very comfortable. The service is efficient and friendly however, the food is fairly average.The prawn purée was swimming in a tomato sauce? The prawns had little taste and some shell fragments still on.The king prawn jalfrezi has good heat, plenty of prawns but again, a very strong tomato based sauce which didn’t taste at all authentic.Shame as I’ve had better experiences here before it was refurbished.

Had a lovely Vegetable Chow Mien and Dry Spare Ribs, arrived within 40 minutes. Lovely and hot, very tasty with some free prawn crackers. Will definitely be ordering a again.

We often visit the restaurant and it has always been OK. However this review is for takeaway.We were told 1 hour and the food arrived 1.35 hours letter. It was drone cold, probably other deliveries were done prior to ours. Food tasted quite average and all containers were dripping in oily sauce. Not a good one this time. Prices have crept up a little... Again.

The food is authentic and the service excellent. Such a diverse range of curries to choose. The Wednesday night banquet is tremendous value.

Had a boys curry night here and it was a good choice of venue. Staff are very friendly and the food was excellent with a good menu to cater for any discerning diner. Definitely worth a visit.

Me and my family Trevor come here on a regular basis food is always pukka 10/10 quality customer service is absolutely fantastic every time so good in fact we always tip them £10.00 the tues offers for 3 course meal delivery we get all the time and also get Wednesday 3 course meal deal in the restaurant but also food so good that even today Father's Day we don't mind paying full price cause of the consistency of the quality of food and the friendliness of the staff also like to add when you eat in they present it like ala carte to your table :)

Jai Ho is your typical High St/suburban curry restaurant. The menu is the same as you would have seen 100's of times. The food was fresh and quality generally good. I was personally a little disappointed with the Goan Fish Curry, the fish was mushy and the flavour was lacking. Perhaps is was frozen fish that did not hold up well to the treatment it received. The Lamb Saag was very pleasant.

Have eaten here before and always found staff and food of a very high quality. However eating there today (on a Wednesday - Banquet Day) my dish was cold and swimming with grease. this was brought to the attention of staff but was made to feel very embarrassed and as if we were trying to cause a fuss. I will never eat there again. The Manager was rude and condescending

Ordered a takeaway, they said 40 minutes . Over an hour later it turns up. Salad looks like it was prepared yesterday(brown)website says free bottle of beer yet no beer. Good looks like it’s been hanging around for ages .Communications poor. Will not use again.

We have developed a bit of a Tuesday night take away habit! The take away deal is excellent value and the curry is always on point. Consistently good, plenty of meat and very tasty. Super helpful staff who are always happy to make changes if needed with no fuss. Highly recommended

Was given a time , but delivered 1/2hr later. Was beyond hungry by then. Ended up being 1 1/2hrs to get an ok curry. Disappointed.

It was busy on a Weds pm, plenty of takers for their bargain Buffet; popadoms, starter, main and rice/nan for £11.95! There were plenty of waiters so still a good service.

For about 10 years my wife and I used to eat at and get takeaways from one of three curry houses in HW itself. Gradually, however, they seemed to lose their way and we simply decided about a year ago to take a chance and travel further away up the Amersham Hill to Jai Ho at the Hazlemere Cross Road. We are very glad we did. Spotless restaurant (as witness their 5* Food Hygiene Rating) and consistently good quality and tasty food. When comparing restaurants we tend to benchmark them against our standard favourite dishes - in my case Lamb Jalfrezi. In my opinion, Jai Ho's is the best. On Saturday, the Chef seems to have decided to fine tune it with some fresh tomato chunks and it enhanced the taste even further. Nice one!

I have eaten in Jai Ho on multiple occasions, with friends and with family, and have recently started using it for our family takeaways too. I've always had great meals, very tasty and generously sized. The staff are attentive and friendly and do their best to accommodate, even if when we rock-up un-booked, when the restaurant is busy. Prices are reasonable, the place is always spotless and there is a comfortable atmosphere which is lacking in some other similar local restaurants. Its a winning combination and, so long as its offering remains ahead of the competition, we will continue to choose Jai Ho by default.

We went as a group of seven males to celebrate a friends birthday. it was on a Wednesday which is the one day in the week they have a special Banquet fixed price menu. I made a good choice of King Prawn Special with rice as an extra. The food was cooked to perfection and really enjoyable. The service was efficient and friendly throughout the entire evening. My only criticism that would prevent me from giving a 5-star rating would be the decor. I personally found the decor to be a little drab and uninspiring.

Is it the best - depends on your palette and appetite but having had indian food, in india and across UK. I think this serves great tasting food at good value. Feast night is very good value so I would always recommend.

We have been eating here and using their takeaway service for over a decade. The current iteration is OK. Fairly standard menu with a few special dishes to lift it above the ordinary. Also just on the good side of value for money. Takeaway service is good but can be a bit flaky when v busy and whatever time they give you, and whenever you turn up, it always takes 10 minutes to get the food!!

Sadly,since a change in management there has been a steady decline in standards.The dining experience is very uncomfortable with staff hovering so that on your last mouthful they grab the plates away. They move around the room continuously and are constantly in your eye line..You end up feeling rushed and uncomfortable.The food was bland and our first course was rather cool,in a temperature sense.As it stands at the moment I would suggest you try somewhere else.

As we have enjoyed the food there we decided to have a take away delivered.We ordered on line which seemed easy and efficient. We then waited an hour for the food before calling to enquire as the website does say to allow an hour at busy times. On the phone very polite and apologetic for the delay, saying our food had just left. It arrived approx 15mins after that. Once the food arrived the delivery man didn't have any change, so we in effect paid an extra £4 for our food which we had seemed to wait a very long time for, and as such didn't really want to tip. As we were pretty hungry by then we did not make that much fuss. On serving the food we then noticed that instead of the Bombay Aloo we had ordered we received Aloo Gobi, not what you want when you don't love cauliflower!! Also no complimentary popadums, disappointing! All in all i would say that the Jai Ho is great if you want to go and have a meal, but not for a take away that is being delivered. Maybe they give priority to those who are picking up the food from the restaurant?

I usually go to the Indian across the road to Jai Ho because they do entertainment evenings. However, the food here is amazing. I couldn't fault it.My only criticism was it took a while for our drinks to come after we ordered them, but it was New Year's Eve

Two visits in 3 days says it all...Fantastic service and meal for 12 of us last Wednesday and a superb takeaway tonight for 8 of us...If its an Indian meal or takeaway you're wanting in the Hazlemere/Holmer Green area, look no further than the Jai Ho.Under new management since June, Mr. Kalam and his staff will look after you.First class!

wonderful and excellent food especially the indo Chinese food its very tasty. the service and the hospitality towards the customer is good. i suggest others to have a visit in this for a wonderful experience of a tasty and satisfied food. Went to the Indian restaurant called JAI HO in hazlemere last night. BAD CHOICE !!!! Couldn't believe how rushed we were. From the time we walked in til the time we left.It was like a stopwatch was on.The food was barely warm and the service was terrible.They kept on hanging around halfway through the courses to see if we had finished our meals. There was NO asking how are meal was or if we wanted any more drinks. Then 1 of the guys stood behind me while I was eating my main meal waiting to take my plate.Couldn't believe it.I WILL NOT BE EATING THERE AGAIN. The whole experience was a shambles. BACK TO THE RAJ I THINK....

In diesem gemütlichen Restaurant bekommt man beste frische indische Küche. Alles ist frisch und per Hand zubereitet, mit viel Liebe und tollen Gewürzen. Ich liebe diesen Laden. Immer wenn ich ab oder nach Gatwick fliege gönne ich mir einen Ausflug ins Jai Ho. Das darf man wirklich nicht verpassen. Ich kann so ziemlich alles von der Karte empfehlen. Die Pappadam mit den selbstgerechten Dips als kleiner Snack sind toll. Der Chili-Paneer ist echt scharf, aber super lecker. Besonders die Hühnergerichte sind köstlich. Bedienung ist immer sehr nett und zuvorkommend, Stimmung und Ambiente perfekt. Top Laden! Unbedingt hingehen!

A quarter of a century ago I lived in Hazlemere and this little place was a very familiar haunt. Back then it was called Little India, was pretty good and incredibly popular but after I moved away it apparently fell into a slow decline. After reading the rave reviews of the place today, me and the missus decided to check it out.We hadn't booked but because it was early evening they were able to accommodate us. Our first surprise was the decor, or lack of it. In fact there were scars aplenty where things like pictures or mirrors had previously hung on the walls. As it filled up with loud chatty diners it dawned on us that the one thing most folk would consider synonymous with an Indian restaurant was missing: ethnic muzak. And we realised, for the first time, that far from being corny, the background Indian music really does compliment the poppadoms and mango chutney. So far, then, we were assuming the food must be so darn good that customers don't even notice the lack of atmosphere. Service was good and the staff very efficient. After our order was served the tiny table was overflowing and we stopped lamenting the lack of any table decoration. There was barely room for the side dishes and drinks and I was reminded of those photographs taken looking down on a crowded aircraft carrier flight deck, all the aeroplane tails overhanging the edge due to a lack of real estate. It took some juggling not to end up with a piping hot dish in our lap. We had ordered the usual suspects (sag aloo, mushroom rice et al) and they tasted fine. Except the onion bhaji which had the taste and appearance of a convenience food. My lamb pasanda main course, however, was very good. The memsahib disliked her vegetable biryani saying it was stodgy. But allow me to recall the peshwari naan story. I love these guys, sweet enough to have as a dessert but entirely complementary to any main course. Mine was tasting a tad flat, in other words it had a mild taste to say the least. The more I eat the more I became convinced that it was a plain naan substituted in error. Disappointed, I called a waiter over and asked him to taste a bit of it to check what type of naan bread it was, quite convinced he would confirm that it was sans coconut. Instead he reassured me that it had to be a peshwari naan because that was what I had asked for. As far as he was concerned his busy kichen staff were infallible and my taste buds were...out to lunch. He turned on his heels and walked away.In that moment I decided two things, how much tip I would be leaving and to open up the offending peshwari nan to see how much coconut was actually in it. The answer was none. All in all a somewhat mixed experience. One thing is for sure, it's one of the cheapest Indian's in the area, so I guess that alone could explain it's popularity. But we won't be bothering with it again.

This is another of our favourite places. We ate on a Saturday night and didn't have any problem booking a table on the night or with parking outside.The service was prompt and food and wine great.

Ordered a take away from here via the Just Eat app (we were baby sitting near by), Unfortunately they rejected the order and I only realised 50 minutes later. So decided to drive up in person and place an order. The place was packed so clearly very popular. The waiters looked like the starting to crack under the pressure but I was served efficiently and the food didn't take too long to arrive. The main dishes were very nice but the lamb chops starters were a bit mushy and not what I'm used to. Next time we baby sit we will be going back.

We were kept waiting for 10 mins after the specified collection time. Some of the food could have been a bit hotter. Quality of food though was excellent and a little different from other Indian takeaways locally.

We have been coming here since it opened, the staff are so friendly and make sure the meal is one to enjoy. If you want a dish to be spiced up just say and it will be done. You will also be very pleased to hear that the food is delivered to the table very hot, there is nothing worse than cold or tepid food. A great range of drinks at great prices. The £10 midweek offer is always sold out so bookings are essential. The no of tables is such that they are able to look after you and you feel very welcome. I have been to nearly all the Indian restaurants in the area and I am very happy to say that this is one of the best, in fact I am going again tonight.

Where do I start.I only order a takeaway so I can't really comment on a service. in my opinion and personal taste the food was under spiced . What you will really expect from the Indian food is the burst of flavour but unfortunately it's not what I received. Just don't expect any Sensation off taste
