Jade Garden Takeaway Olney in Aylesbury Vale

We regularly get a takeaway from here and it's usually very good. Last time though, the beef in the dishes was very chewy and not an enjoyable experience. Will be careful about ordering beef dishes in future.

Very poor service. Ordered and paid online but order never received. Unhelpful on phone and ignoring all of my emails asking for a refund.

Ordered a takeaway and greeted with welcoming conversation. The food was cooked from fresh and everything thing that we ordered was delicious. I would definitely recommend Jade Garden and will call again soon

Unfortunately, not the best, food was cold on arrival, some food was undercooked and some overcooked. Lemon chicken was bland as well as being cold which as you can imagine made the sauce gelatinous. King prawns were cold, in a beef and cashew dish the sauce was warm but meat was cold. All in all pretty underwhelming, certainly won’t be a repeat order.

My favourite Chinese food place in Olney.

In April 2023 I phoned to make an order. It took me three seconds to pop up the kids' requests on my phone by which time the man taking my order said "I'm sorry I'm busy please call later" and cut me off. I phoned a bit later when I could see my list on a different phone and, although the ordering went smoothly, at the end the man said "And don't be late!" as though he knew I was a troublemaker. I asked him not to be rude but he didn't back down: "You need to not be late! I am not being rude!" When I collected my food ten minutes later, having had to go to the cash machine because the restaurant is cash only, he said "Oh, it's you." We had a calm & polite chat but he insisted that he was not rude, as though cutting people off and berating them for things they might do even though you've never met them is okay. Weird. I'd rather pay more and go somewhere else.

Used to be a fantastic place, but over the past 6 months or so has really gone down hill. Quality of food isn't as great as it used to be, and the service isnt fantastic. It's a real shame.

This used to be a wonderful take away with great Chinese food. Since the change of staff, the food is, quite frankly, dreadful. The last meal we had all went in the green bin. Such a shame.

Never again. Phoned order through to collect. Picked up and got home and one dish missing. Called to let them know and told NO it wasn’t ordered when I phones. Not just one NO but many Nos! What food we did get was appalling. Used Jade Garden for a long time but not been for months. I won’t be going back. .

Normally excellent but all I could taste was the cooking oil. Please sort it as food is usually spot on,tried it again last night, spot on

This place used to be the best in Olney, now it’s gone downhill. Cash only in the shop, who doesn’t use contactless anymore??! Food was oily and had a generic taste to it. I don’t mind paying good money for quality food, but this just wasn’t. Such a shame. Won’t be going there again until management change again. I don’t eat prawn crackers, but to not have them given as complimentary like EVERY Chinese takeaway I’ve ever been to if also poor. If I could give ZERO stars then I would.

Used to love this place but very disappointed with last order. Have to pay cash now (inconvenient). Half expected complimentary prawn crackers (spent nearly £50) but had to pay for them..... and then didn't even get them in the bag. Ordered egg fried rice but no evidence of any egg in the flavour or content of the rice. Won't be returning

Great food but when I had a query to see how long my food was going to be after I had waited 45 mins already the man who answers the phone was very rude and not listening to what I was saying!!!

That was the best Chinese I’ve ever had!! UNBELIEVABLE. Don’t waste your time eating anything else in Olney.

This was a firm family favourite so was shocked when we ordered last weekend, basically a pile of greasy bile .

We have used the Jade Garden regularly for many years and it has always been wonderful. Sadly there has been a change of management and the meal we collected from there last light was, quite frankly, dreadful. The spring rolls which used to be fabulous were mostly filled with bean sprouts, so they really weren’t worth eating. The beef in black bean sauce was horribly thick and glutinous and so salty that it was inedible. All the dishes were dreadful and the whole lot went into the green bin. It's so sad that Olney has lost such a good take away.

One of the worst Chinese meals I've ever had, steer well clear of this place, grease, msg and stodge, if you in olney as we are for a few days choose something different to eat is my advice

Once arguably one of the finest take aways for miles, sadly it seems no more. For some reason the standard of food lately , is just not the same.I love giving good reviews when deserved but not this time. Chicken Chowmein,tastless and slimy,Spring rolls no taste.Spare ribs greasey and fatty,even the rice not great.We threw almost all of it away.We used to love Jade Garden and recommended to many of our friends.My question s to the owners. What is going wrong and why all of a sudden have you decided not to accept card payments?

Absolutely amazing! The saff are super friendly and the food is delicious. Waiting time isn't long and we love that you get a lot of food as well for the price. Thank you

In these difficult times and with businesses not open as usual you would think an effort would be made to ensure you had a decent tasty takeaway! Not so in the case of this place. We had a very disappointing one! Aromatic duck that appeared bulk bought with small pieces of chewy hard duck that had seen better days. Main dishes that were so bland and lacking in flavour , even one that had chilli involved! Our dogs did well on the chicken! Best bit was the prawn crackers!

We haven't been here for a while because we found the front of house staff unfriendly and the food was sub-par. We thought we would try it again last weekend and found that a new girl behind the counter was very friendly and chatty. We had a selection of dishes and they are much improved from the last time we visited. Will be going again in the near future.

Nice food slightly higher price but worth it

Fancied a Chinese to watch the first 6 nations rugby match. Haven't been here for quite a while. Went for Jade Special Fried Rice. Wish I hadn't. Tasteless. Strange pieces of rubbery, chewy stuff that was supposed to be been, pork & chicken. Avoid.

Ordered a chicken chow mein, crispy chilly beef, chicken balls and chips. The only thing edible was the chicken balls.

Actually the worst Chinese takeaway I have ever had. The chicken was chewy and tasted a little odd in all 3 dishes. And the dishes were lacking flavour and oomph. It's as though there was no salt added and no spices or herbs. Very disappointed

This is the first time I have used this takeaway since it changed ownership.We had friends over last night and placed a fairly large order for a takeaway Phoned in advance and poppped in to collect as instructed Visually the interior has not changed and the guy at the counter was very polite and helpful ,our food was good to go - all good so far !Food was hot ,well cooked and plentiful (large portions ) however taste wise SO disappointing the food was bland and tasteless . We had a chicken dish ,two meat dishes and a prawn dish plus rice , noddles & veggies etc Honestly could not determine one dish from another and a dish supposedly with ginger tasted like a meat casserole ( not so much of a hint of ginger )On a wet cold night it hit the spot in the sense it was hot edible and filling but nobody around the table thought taste wise it had any flavour and no body wanted seconds or a doggy bag to take home .

Tried several Chinese takeaways locally and this is in the top 3. Nice food. Good service. I recommend it

When our local Chinese closed down, we decided to visit Jade Garden in Olney. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality as the portion sizes are huge! We tend to return once a week, goodbye diet! The food is just too good!

The recent change of ownership of this takeaway had me wondering about the future use I would make of the Jade Garden but time has been a great healer.Staff are really friendly and chatty but this could be construed as being a bit brusque mainly due to them trying to please. The service is very fast and quality excellent. Portions are huge and we now find that one meal does two of us giving an unexpected saving.Certainly now back on our calling list.

Quick and easy place to get your Chinese meal from. But is only a takeaway. Can not dine in. However the food is very satisfactory.

I come here very frequently over the last 4-5 years and never had a bad experience, quick and reasonably priced.

I ordered chicken chow mein with no peppers (allergy) and did state and requested twice also some chips and sauce when got home had to return due to dinner being covered in peppers and asked to replace inc chips and sauce as they now are getting cold all I was offered was a refund for chow mein and after pointing out chips and sauce now cold was blanked !! Sadly since jason left this place has gone down hill (not the first mistake since he left ) will have to find a new place

Ordered our family takeaway over the phone; kind & welcoming members of staff & lovely food! Prices have gone up since new management but still a good takeaway. Shame we no longer get free fortune cookies... Will be returning!! 8/10 from us

We ordered a takeaway from here and we're very impressed! Great food, really good service and good value.

Recently changed hands after many years so I decided to check out the changes. Nothing obvious when you enter other than new faces behind the counter. Menu pretty well the same although most of the prices have gone up, some considerably so.Cash register now being used and your name is taken and entered in it. No email or other details added so at least no spam mail.The food was every bit as good as before although perhaps a bit more spicy. To be honest, little difference and if it stays the same, will see me using it as often as I did before.Nice to see changes having little effect on the good parts.

The staff are polite and have always been welcoming upon arrival to pick up my orders. The food has remained consistent in the years i have been ordering from there. I enjoy the crispy chili chicken dish :)

The quality of the food left a lot to be desired. Totally lacking in TLC, so not at all appetising. We will not return.

This takeaway is a cut above the rest, setting a new standard in the category. I have genuinely not been excited about any other takeaway ever since I first ate from here! Great quality, fresh and tasty food (particularly the salt and pepper squid and the hoisin duck), and impeccable service! Worth the trek!

Cleanest take away around, owned and ran by a true HK family who have a long history with the town.I have eaten here every week for 13 years never a bad meal. Jason and his family treat everyone as a valued friend. Really good honest food cooked quickly with love. It's not cheap but it's good

Having lived in South East Asia, I think that this is the best Chinese food to be had in the UK. Really. It is always a pleasure to go there, as the family is really friendly and thoroughly professional.

I made a last minute decision to go for a takeaway recently. The jade garden was the closest option....I was not disappointed at all. The service was quick and very friendly. I chose the lemon honey ribs, egg fried rice and a chicken/pork dish on a bed of bean sprouts. Everything was just lovely. Cooked perfectly and bursting with great flavours. Even got some free crackers. Highly recommended.

We have used The Jade Garden many times.This popular Chinese takeaway is situated in the centre of picturesque market town of Olney in Bucks. On arrival you will be warmly greeted by the owner or perhaps one his daughters. Always polite and very efficient, you can judge just how high the standards are maintained. Although not the cheapest of takeaways to be found,the quality is certainly worth that little extra. The food is always fresh and beautifully prepared. I would recommend this takeaway with confidence.

An excellent Chinese Takeaway which has a great range of food which is always well prepared, wholesome and excellent value for money. Service is normally fast and I would be happy to recommend it to anyone
