Just had another lovely lunch at The Crown, in Granborough. Staff were lovely as usual. Friendly atmosphere, I highly recommend it!

Our dining experience had its ups and downs. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a rather sarcastic host. The starter was fine, but unfortunately, our server lacked a bit of experience. The host checked in again, though his approach came across as a touch condescending. As for the food, it was ok, though it didn’t quite make up for the missteps in service.”

Friendly pub with modest menu but not over priced

Have been going here for decades! First visit for a while and cannot recommend highly enough. Great pity I have moved out of the area!

Probably 3.5 stars but I'd have to round down for this one. Honestly after the reviews I was a bit disappointed. The food was absolutely fine no complaint but that was it. There was no "oh my god this is so tasty" type moments some Sunday lunches can throw at you. No problems with the service all friendly and attentive. We were sat in a little area of 4 or 5 tables which was empty, and we'd been put on a tiny table tucked up to the door as a "we can squeeze you in". I'm not really sure why as not a single person sat there the entire time we were there, and the other dining area had space at all times too. Sitting there soured it a bit and probably cost it the 4 star rating - odd choice.

The service was very slow, and it took us a long time to get our food despite having to repeatedly ask. The food consisted mainly of processed meat, and the potatoes were like mini jackets rather than roast potatoes. We were very disappointed with the visit.

Lovely staff, really nice food, great beer garden. My wife and I are on holiday locally with our two dogs. We popped in for Sunday lunch and sat in the beer garden. All the staff were so friendly and welcoming and made us feel at ease with the dogs. We both had the mixed roast (3 meats) and shared an Eton Mess. The roast dinner couldn’t be faulted and the Eton Mess was amazing!!

We had a family party at The Crown on 15th June 2024. I can't say enough about how fabulous everyone was! From Stephen the manager to Julie who looked after us on the night, all the staff couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. There were 39 of us with a few vegan's and a guest who was gluten free, so the menu wasn't straightforward, but nothing was too much trouble and all the food went down a storm. The chef even made gluten free fish & chips and apparently it was the best my cousin's wife had ever eaten! Having use of the garden meant the children and teenagers could hang out together which worked really well. Thank you to everyone at The Crown for helping us create more happy family memories!

Popped over for some dinner with the Husband! Pleased to say I was pleasantly surprised!!! I expected a simple pub style menu & Service, but we received some of the best restaurant service & Food in the area We were served by a few of the team, all knowledgeable of what they sell & if they didn't know they were more than happy to find out (sorry he's a fussy eater! Like living with a child!!) - Food Was served hot & flavourful - Great wine selection (pricey if you're just looking for a cheap glass, but so worth paying for the taste alone!) - Male server a dream! We will be back as Its my birthday soon! preliminary booking has been made!!!

Really impressed with quality of the lunchtime servings. We were quite a large group and descended on The Crown without warning which made the quality,speed and service all the most impressive.

Went for dinner a few weeks ago with my partner. Service was quite slow considering there was only 1 other table in at the time. Didn’t bother us too much as we weren’t in a rush. The food was okay. My partner enjoyed his burger . I had fish and chips and was enjoying it until I had eaten half of my peas ( they were very cold, dry and flavourless !) when I then found a fly in them. Made me feel a bit sick and put me off of my food. Made me question the Hygiene of the kitchen a little bit. My partner had to finish my fish as I felt sick thinking about eating the rest of it. Price was quite good for 2 mains 2 drinks and 1 light bite.

Very cold in the pub no fires would you eat in a pub with no fires o a cold day? We ate with our coat on did not enjoy that at all. Will not go there again.

Had a lovely meal at The Crown on New Years Eve, from out of the area so was unsure what to expect. The meal was lovely and perfectly cooked, staff are super friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend if your in the area.

This was our first visit to this amazing pup, greeted by a smart professional waitress called Darcy our service was wonderfully polite. The quality and choice of food exceptional catering for GF and DF meals. Darcy had amazing attention to detail making sure our gravy and horseradish sauce were gluten free and safe to eat. The bar also had an excellent choice of beers, a great local pub which didn’t impact on our visit. Highly recommended for a family visit great food amazing service, a reasonably priced friendly restaurant. Looking forward to our next visit.

The Sunday lunch is very popular, which is not surprising as it is very good. Plenty on your plate and a dish of seasonal vegetables as well. If you want a quick meal this is not the place to go, rather it is a place that gives you the chance to enjoy a drink and conversation, just as it should be. The staff are friendly and helpful and make this a good place to go.

Our first visit to this lovely pub, having been recommended to it. The food was cooked and presented beautifully. The waiting staff were outstanding…. patient, attentive and efficient, even though the restaurant was very busy.

We went Friday 29 Sep! With 2 friends, not our first visit as we love the food and Toby’s food is to die for! I had scallops to start, Cod loin with mussel sauce, the best yet! Recommended Only thing is I was driving so Nozeco or 0% wine would be a welcome addition!❤️🥂

Visited last minute tonight. Roughly 20 minutes before closing although you wouldn’t have known. We were made to feel soo welcome even though we were probably those annoying customers who turn up last minute and the end of the night 😅 We had a Rump steak offer. Good price, great steak! My husband really enjoyed the wine pairing! Med-Rare recommended I love my fish and had the Sea Bream from the Fish Friday Specials. Cooked perfectly & great quality for the price! I would love the recipe for the sauce 😉 We joined the Gin Bar for an after dinner drink to finish the evening. We will be back!

Bad bad experience. We often go out as a family for Sunday lunch and try different restaurants in the area. They’ve all been lovely so far until we went to The Crown. The manager in particular was very rude to me on two separate occasions, he shouldn’t have been front of house. We were left for ages with dessert menus until they finally came back to us….I wouldn’t have minded so much but they were serving other tables which had been given their menus after us. The food was ‘ok’ but my food was undercooked. Won’t be going back or advising friends to go there.

Phoned and got a table for Sunday lunch at very short notice. It wa our first visit here. A very friendly welcome greater us and very quickly shown to our table. The ambience was good and service excellent. The quality and quantity of the food was spot on. We will be visiting again without a doubt. Thank you for a great experience.

We’ve been staying at the local Embers campsite and came to The Crown to watch the women’s World Cup final ⚽️. The bar at the front was packed but all the locals were really friendly and gave up their seats for our two children. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and locals. After the match we stayed for a roast in the garden. Food came super quickly, was presented beautifully and was delicious. Great size portions. Beer garden has a grassy area for kids to play along with a climbing area. Would definitely come again- bit jealous that this isn’t our local!

Food wasn't great, but nice pub and good service

A quintessential local pub with excellent food and friendly service. A range of seating options i.e. outside, restaurant or in the main pub rooms. A smallish but diverse menu that is equally matched by the choice of drinks. Roasts are always good and offering decent portion sizes. Burgers always a good bet as are alternative such as the hoisin duck. Overall, a nice balance of style, quality and satisfaction in a lovely setting

Warm welcome on arrival. Barman was had a passionate knowledge about his ales and offered a tasting. I enjoyed a delicious sunday roast in a homely beer garden area

Lovely feel to the pub as you walk through the door, I love country pubs with beer gardens and spent a bit of our time in there before rain stopped play, plenty of seating and the lady serving that evening was cheerful and friendly......we are going again tonight for a meal.

Had the pizza deal tonight, buy one and get one half price. Both pizza’s were badly burnt on the bottom and could only eat 3 slices of each. The “Veggie one” had a handful of green olives, uncut, thrown on the top looking like they were forgotten when it was cooked! This will be the last takeaway I have from the Crown. Absolutely terrible!

Charming setting in the Oak room for Sunday lunch at the classy Crown in Granborough. The restaurant comprises of two areas ; the crown room ( more intimate ,seating approx 20), the oak room ( higher ceiling ,oak beams,large fireplace). Good attentive service from the waiting team , fab food. On draught the Crown own ale is tasty. Approx 20 mins from City of MK. We experienced ample parking on Sunday.

On arrival at the restaurant we found that a large private party had taken over the whole restaurant and we were put into a small unattractive room in an isolated location, when I made the booking the person taking the call should have made me aware of this issue. A very poor experience due to the less than average environment and very average food. Very disappointing experience as we had a visitor from Leeds as our guest.

Vegan options are less than desirable. For example, goats cheese, roasted pepper and red onion marmalade salad as a starter, becomes Vegan by removing the goats cheese! Needs a substitute.

Had Sunday lunch yesterday and it was delicious. Really enjoyed our lunch and the service was great. Will definitely be back.

ordered plain burgers and burger buns were lathered with some sort of relish. No one came to check that our meal was satisfactory despite telling staff about this. Was still charged full price for one meal that was hardly touched. Won’t be going back there

We ordered two bowls of chips to have with our drinks. Bowls! More tile egg cups £4 each bowl! a very expensive snack, Please don’t let little things like this let down a half decent pub. Your prices have increased like everywhere understandably but please keep the quality at least the same. Wish I had taken a picture 😝

Nice place food good service ok

Kids weren't happy with the xmas 2021 meal so haven't gone back until last week November 2022 and food was alot better, normally book and go Xmas eve, but booked the black boy as the kids are not happy with the Crown.

A shame I love this pub but frankly Sunday lunch very disappointing - potatoes had been cooked hours earlier and were dry and hard. Also gravy ought to be served in a separate little jug not just poured over everything.
