WOW. Look no further. This place is stunning. The staff are an absolute joy, the food is amazing (even if you are not vegetarian), and they were so welcoming to my well behaved little dachshund who sat patiently under the table. I did see a recent 1 star review for this place. Totally uncalled for in my view - from looking at the reviewer who gave 1 star they seem to do a few 1 star reviews for seemingly not liking dogs. The area here is a large community of dog lovers, so I suspect the cafes trade would be reduced if they did not allow well behaved pooches in. I have no issue at all with this! This cafe is a total joy, and I always visit if coming here on my holidays. The cakes - and welsh cakes - are simply to die for. Enjoy!! 😀😀

What a lovely welcoming spot for a lunch. The menu isn’t extensive, but that’s ok because everything on it is beautifully made and they use local produce which is important to me. The homemade soup and cheese scones were to die for. The two ladies who run it were great. Really welcoming, friendly, warm and informative about the menu, which wasn’t a surprise as they cook everything from scratch themselves. The atmosphere is very relaxed and they welcome well behaved dogs which is a plus even though we don’t have one of our own. Really pleased we dropped in, even though we’re both meat eaters, it didn’t register this was a vegetarian restaurant until we sat down, no shouty or pretentious stuff about veggie or vegan food, just good home cooking and a friendly atmosphere. Thanks ladies.

Not suitable for eating if you're not a fan of eating with dogs. Especially with carpetted flooring around you. Personally I do not want to eat with dogs.

Friendly staff. Would have liked to give a better review than this. But don't feel I can. Really stingy portions. Salad was clearly from a supermarket bag and was spread out on the plate to make it look bigger. Quiche slice was small and on the dry side. It tasted fine but nothing special. Really overpriced for what it was. Better value to be found in other local eateries. We won't return.

As a coeliac vegetarian, it's so reassuring to go into a restaurant that you know you can eat at with minimal fuss. Not only that, the dog was welcomed in with us. I had the broccoli and Shropshire Blue soup and my partner had a cheese & pickle panini. We also took some cake to go. We both thoroughly enjoyed everything - it was exactly what we needed after a day of traipsing around Ross-on-Wye. Staff were so friendly and the place looked amazing all decked out for autumn/Halloween.

This is a very traditional cafe, selling good food at sensible prices. The staff are most friendly and chatty, sharing their wisdom whilst lovingly preparing the orders, which are all made to request, so no curly sandwiches. Just a little out of the town centre, so quieter than some of the other cafes. The food is good and there is a wide variety on offer; mostly standard English cafe menu. The food quality is good and prices are reasonable. The staff are friendly and efficient. This is a place where you select from the menu on the table and then order at the counter. Cutlery and condiments are self-service just opposite the bar. There is quite an intimate atmosphere and BBC Radio 2 was playing softly in the background as we ate. There are interesting pictures on display and some local information leaflets for tourists. All in all, a pleasant place to have lunch.

This is not a self service restaurant but you are expected to settle the bill before you eat. Given that the till is in the middle, make sure you read the sign that tells you to pay first, (thats the sign in the middle of the room), just in case you don't see it before grabbing a table....its in the middle. Three soups on the menu, but one wasn't ready. Went for the Leek and Potato, an old favourite but obviously not here. Completely tasteless, and no matter how much salt and pepper was added it was too watery and lacked any flavour. The bread didn't fair any better.Glad we found somewhere else to eat after out first course would not bother returning here again.

We wanted a light lunch that wasn't going to cost a fortune and would keep us going until supper tonight. Good cooking and a tasty meal would have been a bonus. Well, it didn't cost a fortune here at Jacqueline's Cafe. That was the best of it.We should have known better. Everything about the place was on the grubby side, the decor, the staff and most of all the experience. We ordered a chilli con carne and a version of an all-day breakfast. I had to ask where our meal was when it took so long to arrive. I was told that was because all food is 'cooked to order'. I understand that bit,but one meal at a time cooked to order I do not !! The cooking area, (one hot plate, a weird plastic, see-thro' thing for warming garlic bread from the freezer and a microwave oven), was tiny). My meal was the first to arrive - Well, part of it at least. The baked beans, I was told would follow when they were ready !! Which they did, some minutes later. However, the chilli when it finally arrived was an inspiration. Chilli con carne soup !! Some chilli flavoured water with four red kidney beans and an occasional bit of minced beef. There was a hint of chilli and a little onion. We could have complained but I'm sure we would have been met with a vacant look and the words....... "It's all cooked to order". Ah well, we were able to laugh at the experience.
