The fish and chips were very good. You can get other of dishes like burgers, Italian and steaks too. In the morning, they have breakfast menu too. the service was good too.

Nestled in East End Aldgate London England jack the chipper has a very large menu, from breakfast, muscle's in garlic sauce, fish and chips, cocktail's and the décor is very impressive.

When in UK, got to have fish and chips! Stopped by this place and it was not too bad. Huge calamari rings and one large slab of fish to go with the chips. Played the oldies music! 50/60s stuff. Not a bad stop

The food was good, the service was fast and the waiters were each more adorable than the last. Also, my friend lost his phone 10 minutes after leaving the restaurant, we went back and all the waiters were sorry, the manager offered to look at the cameras with us. My two sons and i are from the U.S. and wanted some great fish n chips. When asked for suggestions on fish n Chips restaurants, our uber driver suggested this place. So glad we followed his suggestion. Excellent quality food and big portions. Very clean restaurant. Charlie is a very affable host and a sharp businessman who focuses on the total satisfaction of the customer. I've tried their cod, fish cakes, and calamari. They're all good (especially the fish cakes). But my favorite is their awesome beef lasagna! My sons like their fish n Chips as well as the chicken pasta dish (della?). And their chips are great! Just make sure to save room for dessert! We Got sticky toffee pudding, chocolate cake, and banoffee pie. All excellent!! Again, Charlie and his staff are absolute rock stars. It was a blessing to dine in this establishment. Looking forward to our visit again.

Having just visited the Van Gogh experience round the corner, it was lunchtime and we were a bit hungry so we went on the hunt for something to eat. Jack The Chipper caught our eye so we thought we’d give it a go. We were greeted warmly and drinks were served quickly. I can be fussy about fish and chips but oh my. I am a huge fan of the East Neuk for a chipper but I have to say I think this was my favourite ever. Freshly cooked haddock and chips, moist, flaky fish and batter to die for. Chips spot on. T’other had the large haddock and also really enjoyed it. He was especially taken with the Hells Lager. I was nicely full, not stuffed, perfect portion size for me. The service was perfect, so smiley and friendly. I had a latte after as I needed a wee caffeine hit, again, just perfect. When we got the bill, out came a wee pile of Fruit Salad and Blackjack sweeties!! I haven’t had those for about 40 years! I was so chuffed about this that the waitress came back with a few more. And that is what makes this place, delicious food, people who are delighted to see you enjoy your food, have a nice experience and make you feel like you are valued. Definitely will return next time we come down to London!, I loved it!

The waitress told me that they didn’t have the drink I asked for even though I was staring right at it. Our main meals came before the entree’s and the fish was very average. Felt like they were rushing us and we nearly had a heart when we got the bill $56 Aud for very basic fish and chips and $42 Aud sercharge was just ridiculous.

The batter on the fish was soft and sort of chewy, the portion was on the small side, and the curry sauce seemed like it had been watered down because it was thin and pretty tasteless. The calamari rings were decent, but they were unseasoned and bland. Overall, not somewhere I'll be going back to.

Quite disappointing. Feels like they are taking a commodity product & overcharging for what you actually get. Loved this place! We went back twice during our 5 nights in London.. I had cod n chips twice and my husband had the skate n chips and then the full English breakfast. All were very tasty. Cod was very fresh and tasty.. husband is the son of a fisherman so very particular about his fish.. nae jokes.. and he loved it! Popped in for take away fish cake and chips and it was outstanding !! We were staying in a nearby hotel and had spotted the chippy on our way out from Aldgate East station . . decided to pick up late supper to take back to the hotel and we were delighted with our choice. Freshly cooked, super tasty, very substantial and great value for money 👍 If you are in the area be sure to visit . . the restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as take away 😋

This was simply the best fish and chips I have had in a long time. The portions were substantial, the quality exceptional, and the staff very friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was good, too. I would have no hesitation in recommending my friends and family to eat here. I bloody enjoyed it

Regular cod & chips at £15.90 which is served as kid's size portions. stingy on the chips and the cod is small yet classed as regular. They dont sell cans of fizzy drink - they sell it by the glass at £2.95 which is again watered down. To top it off, they charge service charge??? which proper chippy makes you pay service charge?? Tip if you want, but dont make ur customers pay service charge - this aint america. This place is too commercial - more for the tourists RIP OFF !!!

I visited this place on a snowy night to satisfy my Fish craving. The name is spin on name of World’s most infamous Serial Killer (Jack the Ripper). It’s located in Whitechapel area where Ripper crimes took place, so my expectations were low anticipating it would be a gimmicky place with no quality, but I was wrong. Right after I entered, I was welcomed by Charlie in a very enthusiastic way. His sense of humor and knowledge about English football triggered a very refreshing visit. I ordered large Haddock & Chips with a drink. The order was delivered by another server who was equally pleasant. As for the food, it tasted fresh, batter was crispy, seasoned and cooked to perfection. Prices are little higher than Fish & Chips places in the area, but I would always pay a little extra if the service is welcoming and friendly, as it contributes to a pleasant dining experience. I chatted with Charlie again and left with a smile and good mood. I would visit again just for the service. The food is good adds another perk.

It's always good when the food matches the hype, in this case, the name of the restaurant. The diner can choose several types of fish, with cod being the most frequently ordered. My husband and I shared a large order--the fish was cooked to perfection, but the star was the light, crispy batter! Chips (fries) are pretty good too. This is definitely a family-friendly restaurant so the ambiance is cheerful but not particularly elegant.

Group of 10 ladies descended on this restaurant around 12 noon before catching train from Euston and needed quick service - that is exactly what we got and more. We ordered various breakfasts; chips; sandwich's and all 10 of us was very pleased with the efficient customer service; quality of food and very reasonable prices. I like my food so to take the time to give this review it needed to be good. Well done Jack the Chipper and thank you - we did catch our train on time!!!
