Superb food, hot, plentiful and very flavoursome. Great value lunch deal, £19.95 for 2 course from the al la carte menu. Lovely, spacious, well thought out surroundings. Highly recommend.

Greek and Turkish food, full of flavour, and friendly service. We do like the Agora, lovely place. Today's choice of the family was, Hot Meze Platter, Chicken Iskender, Lamb Adana, followed with Hot Chocolate Brownie and Vanilla ice-cream, Chocolate ice-cream, and my choice of Balaclava and black Tea. I was prejudiced before coming here, I came with hesitation, the food and service were great, I enjoyed it very much, I thank all the employees 😊

We ordered pizza, but we shouldn’t have. It took more than an hour to arrive, the pizza is not cooked, its way too chewy, feels like its’s just a ready made pizza that they just threw in the oven.

Had a lovely pre cinema meal with cold starters and hot meze mains. Great service and lovely staff.

We have been out for business In Harrogate , we went for lunch to The Agora for the first time, the food Was so delicious and testy and the service was great. We went to the Agora for the Supporting Older People Dining Out Club. 12 older people enjoyed a delicious lunch. The food was delicious, plentiful and tasty. We were served by the lovelyMaryam who went out of her way to make the occasion special. We will definitely be returning.

We love the warm hospitality - this is a family business with service and food to match. If you like authentic Turkish food this is the place for you. Great lunchtime place if you have young children- staff are so accommodating.

Celebrated my partners birthday on Wednesday evening and had the best time, sat in a comfy window private booth, the staff were just lovely, the food, hot mezze and the mixed grill for two was sensational. We can’t wait to go back.. definitely recommend

Went for my 60th with my sisters, was excited for the Moussaka, although it was expensive, but it was nothing like the description. No layers, mostly potato and Aubergine, very little lamb or sauce so very dry. Ordered Baklava to take away, they charged the full £5.75 which was ok, despite not being able to have the accompanying ice-cream. Devastated to discover only 1 piece, cut in half when the other diners got 2 large pieces....emailed to explain this had ruined a lovely evening, stock reply, no real apology. Lots of other lovely restaurants in Harrogate so need to up their game, won't be back...

It was a Monday evening so we expected the restaurant to be quiet. My raspberry cocktail, lamb and spinach and hubbys lamb iskandar mains were both tasty. Good value too

Visited on the 11th August with my friend, hospitality was incredible, service was amazing definitely worth visiting, hidden gem in Harrogate, platters are great value for money, definitely visiting again and again, (Pakistani guy)

We haven't had Turkish food before but wanted to give it a try while on holiday. We found the food here delicious, especially the humous and babaganoush. I had a marinated chicken main course, which was tender and tasty. The woman serving was friendly and pleasant. A good find!

Where do I begin awful awful!! Portion size minuscule, tasteless, very very very dry. Where was the tomato and yogurt sauce in the lamb Iskender ? The chef needs to go to the REAL Istanbul and the owner needs a reality check the quality and the quantity of your food is a waste of time and money. May be all the money he is making is to pay for the skip outside which is exactly where the food and service should go!

Visited last Saturday and was very disappointed with both the service and food. We noticed that the staff were all different and we were advised that the business is under new management. Sadly we have decided not to return which is a great shame as this was a local regular of ours.

Food good, wine good, service poor poor poor such a shame. A nice place and we would have loved to go again but won’t. We asked for a taxi and we were told they don’t have any numbers????? It’s Harrogate one of the biggest tourist destinations in the north of England!!!!!! Get some taxi numbers and improve your service and maybe offer to pour the wine your clients have paid £25 for

Friendly service, although a little inattentive considering there were only 2 tables occupied. The prawn starter was good, but the lamb main course was very poor. Probably the most gristly piece of lamb I’ve had in many years. Edible, but far too chewy. Overall, a disappointing experience.

OMG! Large portions, intense flavours and great service - what is not to like? I had the stuffed aubergine which was *enormous*. My wife had the lamb chops - there were 5 large lamb chops!! That's not a mistake - 5 large lamb chops! It was like having a meal with a Turkish family where the portions are large and it tastes just like you remember. It was incredibly good value for money and, short of actually going to the real Istanbul, you won't find better in Harrogate.

My family eat here regularly (mostly early evening) and Istanbul Turkish Bar & Grill has never disappointed us. The food is always delicious and the service is swift and polite. The menu is varied and there are lots of choices for most tastes. There are a few Turkish beers to try also (bottled). The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The dining experience is very relaxed and enjoyable. There is a children's menu available.

Starter was greasy chips were greasy the whole meal was flat and flavourless will not go again chicken nugget and chips nearly 8 pound

Bland no flavour and the hot mezze TERRIBLE and greasy repeating on me all ready just not like I expected it to be I’ve had better in Leeds market

Just happened to be walking past and we decided to go in. The service was excellent, the food was great (as a vegetarian it's always a worry but plenty of options). Would definitely recommend. We both got the lunch deal of 2 courses for £19.95 each which was great value for money.

Me and my husband walked passed this place and decided to try out and we were very pleased with place, atmosphere and FOOD! We had two courses deal (starter and main for £19.99 ) We had delicious mocktails. He had babaganush starter and veg and halloumi gravash and I had cheese and fillo pastry with veg and main moussaka. All meals were presented very nice and appetizing and they were filling and very delicious. If we will visit Harrogate again we will come back to this lovely restaurant. Warm, friendly, professional lovely decor and delicious food. Visited on Sunday night albeit a quiet night in Harrogate the pretty lights and appealing floral display outside 'Istanbul' drew us into this fantastic Turkish restaurant. The female server was so very attentive and charming. My husband, myself and our teenage daughter occupied a window seat. I ordered the kleftiko, my daughter had the 'chef's special' 'chicken idana lokma' (medallions of chicken wrapped in flatbread) Oh my gosh it was delicious, my husband the 'chicken iskender' (again 10/10) and my kleftiko was mouth-watering. The meat was so tender and tasty. The portions were large and plentiful - the server suggested half chips and half rice and also came with a salad accompanying the dishes and this again was very tasty. After the main course, the chef came out and introduced himself - a lovely guy - and even though we were quite full - he had made a complimentary warm baklava with a dollop of cream for us to share and this was delicious. We don't live in Harrogate but visit every few months and this is by far our new 'go-to' restaurant. The bill was very reasonable. Any excuse to return with our other two sons once they visit us. Highly recommended.

This is an honest review. My partner and I visited this location by coincidence. After checking the reviews we went in and ordered a mezze for 2 people for £21.90 and a mix grill for 2 for £39.95, which is pricy. The starter arrived which came with 3 spring rolls cooked from frozen, 2 mini meatballs in a sauce dip bowl, a slices of sucuk, 2 thin halloumi sticks and 2 fried feta sticks. This for £21.99 is daylight robbery. After we received the mezze we immediately cancelled the mains and paid for the starter. Personally this isn’t an attack on the customer service, this is an honest review of what you are paying versus what you are getting. At a time like this where businesses require support from customers it is absolutely appalling that business like this provide extremely low value for money, especially in the food business. I could have gone to Waitrose and bought a packet of frozen spring rolls that would have tested better which effectively means that I paid £15 just to sit in this restaurant. Wow

My first time in this establishment. The initial service with drink order was very quick. The turkish sausage starter was spicy but nice. With the main, the lamb was nice but something was off. Not sure if it was the cheese or what. Something was just off. Maybe it was me. Overall service was excellent. The waitress was friendly and personable. First time but will not be my last. A definite recommed.

Fantastic food and friendly staff who made our boys feel extra special on their birthday. We had the Istanbul mix for 4 which we all thoroughly enjoyed and there was plenty for everyone. Would definitely recommend and we will return.

All the food was incredible and the staff were so friendly and amazing. We went for my friends birthday and they made it so special. Two of my friends are vegetarian/ vegan and they had no issues ordering off the menu, we will definitely be back and telling all our friends and family to go.

This restaurant is stunning in every way- the decor, food and staff. We had booked for 2 at 6.30 on a Saturday night. Upon arrival, we were shown to a lovely little booth. There are a few booths and a lovely round table under a tree too. The restaurant makes you feel warm, welcome and comfortable. We ordered the meal for 2 and the dip platter was simply sublime - wow! The best we’ve ever tried! (We eat out alot and I’m fussy- this is how good they are!) the shared mixed grill was amazing so fresh, flavourful and varied in meats and types of grill. We each received a plate with bulgar and chips too. I was so full from the starter I couldn’t wear c loads but I’ve brought it home for tomorrow. We also brought our baklava home and I’ve just eaten it several hours later and equally high quality as everything. I can’t wait to return to this restaurant it’s really top quality and delicious. The staff are so friendly and helpful too.

Lamb cutlets to die for 😋😋 and the staff great and attentive.

I must start by saying this was a Deliveroo and I did not attend the restaurant. The food was excellent and well worth the month, we had the Roka Mixed Grill which was really big and everything cooked perfectly, the Lamb Chops where to die for, really recommend these. Halloumi was "just Halloumi", nothing special but nice enough, the Babaganoush was outstanding as was the bread. Really nice food and I will definitively be visiting the restaurant

Delightfully friendly team! The food is the best we have ever had. Baclava the best in the whole UK, beautifully spiced with cardamom. The babaganoush was perfection, served with lovely fresh salad. Hummus was sublime and served with fabulous saffron bread. This is food as it is meant to be!

A warm, friendly restaurant. Front of house staff were very welcoming and attentive. The aroma of the BBQ as you approached the restaurant was a sign of things to come. From salads to moussaka to BBQ grills the food was fantastic and authentic. Wonderful finishing touch of complimentary baklava with the bill. a great overall experience.
