Superb food, great service, very good beer and wine. Lovely atmosphere and dog friendly too. Excellent all round, highly recommended.

This is a beautiful venue with a lovely ambience. We have eaten here on previous occasions and really enjoyed the food. However, we found the food quite disappointing on our last visit. Many of the dishes on the main menu would be considered as complicated even in a Michelin star restaurant. Sadly, the over ambitious menu fails to deliver the desired quality of cuisine. I chose, Sesame fried sea bream with chilli and coriander crab cake, tempura prawns, braised five spice red cabbage, and red Thai curry sauce. The Sea bream and red cabbage were deliciou, though an odd combination. However, the tempura prawns were tasteless and I suspect commercially produced. Unfortunately, the crab cake was soggy and bland with little evidence of the red Thai curry sauce. My companion chose the collar of pork which was apparently quite stringy. The portions were generous. We were all the wish that we had chosen more traditional pub food. A big criticism is that the brasserie only offer skinny fries with no option of triple cut chips.

Food was SO beautiful. Mouthwatering, tasty and just gorgeous! Highly recommend the maple BBQ belly pork starter, and the pan fried sirloin steak. I’ve had many steaks over my years, but OH WOW! Nothing like this! Staff, environment service, price, etc were all fantastic. Thank you to everyone who work there.

The food was fantastic. Very creative, fresh and flavoursome. The atmosphere was lovely. Quiet, even though the pub was quite busy. Will definitely go back.

We (family of four with a teen & pre-teen) are staying in Childswickham just outside Broadway for a weeks holiday so thought we’d try the Childswickham Inn & Brasserie as we could walk there through the pretty village, it has great reviews and it’s dog friendly. We booked for a Friday evening and were given our choice of tables in the very pretty garden area. Everything about the place is wonderful. The pub itself is a lovely country style inn with a very warm & welcoming atmosphere. The outdoor area is beautiful with a lit pergola under canvas canopies and very comfortable chairs and roomy tables. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful and made a fuss of our two Labradors. The food was superb. Honestly some of the best traditional-but-next-level pub fare we’ve ever had. I had the pie of the day which was lamb, husband had Cumberland sausages and the kids had burgers. All completely homemade, served quickly, fresh & piping hot and with generous portions. Husband suffered from extreme pie envy when he tasted my dish! We couldn’t resist the puds so opted for sticky toffee puddings and chocolate brownie. Again, all homemade, generously portioned and utterly delicious. The food was so good we decided to spend our final meal here and opted for Sunday lunch. We all had sirloin of beef which were served with the best (and biggest!) Yorkshire puddings we’ve ever had. We’re from Yorkshire and we know a perfect Yorkie when we see (and taste) one and these deserve the highest praise. The beef was perfectly cooked, thickly cut and it melted in the mouth. It was served with a generous portion of roast potatoes, cheesy leeks (a personal favourite!), a selection of perfectly cooked veg & lovely rich gravy. Desserts were equally fabulous. Genuinely up there with the best food we’ve ever eaten and exceptionally good value. I just wish it was closer to home as we’d be returning constantly! I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Perfect food, wonderful service, lovely ambience and surroundings and great value, more than deserving of five stars. Thank you for two wonderful visits, you were a highlight of our holiday!

When we visited a couple of weeks ago, we were given a lovely warm welcome, even though we just had drinks. This weekend we decided to go for Sunday lunch. Upon arrival, our booked table didn't have any chairs, so they had to get a couple of chairs for us. We ordered our meal and even though the food was good, my salad had a hair in it. I am not the type of person to complain, I just continued to eat. The roast was plentiful and the yorkshire pudding was huge, but even though there were roast potatoes, it would have been nice to have had some mash and extra gravy. However, when we finished our meal, there were many members of staff running around and you would have thought that they would have noticed we had finished our meal and would have cleared the table, but we were sat there for over 15 minutes before someone came. Even though it was busy, it wasn't over busy. The puddings were delicious and plentiful. Definitely would recomment the Pavlova and Sticky Chocolate Pudding.

Another fantastic meal! We have visited the pub several times now when we are in the area,and each time have a really enjoyable evening. We visited on a particularly busy evening and they were down a member of staff, but we were still greeted with smiles,promptly tended to and had delicious food.

I booked a week before our visit however staff weren't made aware. We were taken to a table (with our dog) and seated quickly. Service was good and well paced. Squid starter was good, lamb and beef Sunday roast also good. Yorkshire pudding just right( from a Yorkshire native that's a huge compliment) and we would recommend and return

Had lunch here today. Had the fish and chips which was the best one I have had in a pub or a fish and chip shop for years/ as long as I can remember. Homemade tartare sauce was amazing I really want the recipe. Beautiful fish and crispy batter. Another member of our party had the prawn cocktail. There was an abundance of prawns. Great value for money. Overall the food was exceptional. The staff were amazing, extremely friendly and truly made our visit special. We will be back very soon :-)

We booked as a group of eight whilst on holiday in the Cotswolds. Excellent menu with good choice and plenty of gluten free options. The food was excellent quality and right amount for lunch. Good friendly staff, who were patient with our slow eater!

We came here after researching where to eat while holidaying in the area. We had wonderful food and great service, all members of staff were so friendly that we felt like locals.

When we visit the area we always pay a visit to the pub.Each and every time the food has been delicious and the staff very friendly and helpful.

Amazing food, we booked for the sizzling steak offer to include a bottle of wine £48. Cooked to perfect, hubby had ribeye, I had sirloin, so perfect, and so were the flavours. Onion rings home made ( not breaded), mushrooms had a lovely flavour too. Highly recommend.

Had the traditional Christmas Turkey roast lunch. Very nice Turkey and lovely gravy but the veg was lacking. No brussel sprouts and no carrots. Two things I would have thought essential as it was a Christmas lunch and lastly no Yorkshire pudding. I also had the sticky toffee pudding which was delicious. Would I go back next year. Probably not.

13 of us went for a celebratory lunch. The food was prompt, hot and more importantly delicious! Most people had the Turkey, I had the lamb, which was gorgeous. Highly recommend.

What a find. Great food and a good selection of drinks. Best of all for those driving a beer, wine and spirits list of NON alcoholic drinks. Plus a non alcoholic Aperol spritz to die for . We always go here for Sunday lunch each time we visit the Cotswolds and the staff are friendly and welcoming every time. Food is consistently good and they always make us and our dogs feel extremely welcome. Highly recommend but book in advance as it’s always busy!

Average village pub serves good food, nothing outstanding. Beers kept well. Gets busy on Sundays, but doesn’t feel like a Cotswold pub, it could be placed anywhere.

We discovered this fabulous restaurant on our 1st visit to a Buckland rental Cottage for a month in 2017, a 2-week Christmas visit in 2018 with Christmas Day dinner reservation made from the USA with Carol. Three more one month long stays in 2019, 2021 (Buckland rentals) and 2023 rental right here in Childswickham and stays always include multiple lunches and dinners. Myself and my girlfriend came here for her birthday on Thursday. I need to say that it was one of the best meals either of us has had out for a long long time. The atmosphere is very casual, the staff were attentive yet not intrusive and the ossobucco was delicious. A huge thanks to everyone concerned for a lovely lunch.

I went here to celebrate my sister's birthday. It's a nice place, nice staff and lovely food. I had a tartlet with a salad and my sister had a big bowl of pasta, both were delicious. Highly recommended, a very pleasant place with great food and service

Nice place, good menu although to be honest the menu reads very well but the food wasn't quite as good as described, having said there was nothing wrong with the food at all, just didn't reach my expectations.

Visited twice in our week in the area and it was perfect on both occasions. Catered for one of the party having food allergies and gave us space for a pushchair. Food and staff were excellent.

Good menu. Food was good, all arriving simultaneously. Great service from attentive staff. Very pleasant evening! Finding parking along the road was a bit of a challenge as the restaurant car park is small. Otherwise this would have got 5 stars!

Great meal, had the duck and lasagne. Service really good as far as COVID safety, politeness and timely service goes. Pleasure to get out in the fresh air in such a lovely place. The new outside garden area looks very smart! Highly recommend to anyone, food to suit most people, plenty of drinks to choose from too. Hope to go back soon for more!! We visited back in April on a Sunday we ordered 2 beef roasts and a burger we only had 1 drink because it wasn’t worth staying for any more unfortunately the beef was undercooked and raw we left it on the plate and the burger came out cold finally after a couple of mins in the microwave it was piping hot it was dripping with grease And tasted when you bit into it all you could taste was grease this meal came to over £70 and was not worth a penny I will definitely not be returning.

We called in on a Tuesday afternoon without a reservation, after a day in the Cotswolds. I had searched online for potential places to eat and this looked promising. I have to say that it was a very good choice- the outdoor eating area was very well laid out and looked clean and inviting. Service was great, choice and quality of food was excellent given most places are offering restricted menus at the moment. The Indian sharer plate and duck were absolutely spot-on and I would highly recommend. Prices very reasonable. We'll definitely be coming again

Had a lovely lockdown lunch here with friends who live close by. The four of us sat on a nice patio at the rear of the pub with socially distanced tables. They had some patio heaters but fortunately we didn’t need to use these as it was a sunny afternoon. Greeted & looked after by a couple of very helpful waitresses. Service was efficient for both the drinks order & food. We all chose from the sandwich menu with a mixture of seafood wraps & a bratwurst sausage. All these were served with chips & a side salad. Couldn’t fault anything to be honest. Our friends had been here a number of times but it was our first but hopefully not our last. Highly recommended.

Met a friend for lunch here on a perfect day to be in such a delightful venue. The garden has been refurbished to an extremely high standard, as described in previous reviews, and organized in an ultra-safe way to comply with Covid regulations. The staff were charming, friendly and attentive and we all agreed that the food was first class - no room for desserts, unfortunately, after having a delicious starter and main course. We will rectify this omission next time! Congratulations to all involved in making it such a pleasurable experience.

We called in without a reservation for lunch on a sunny Monday to find the car park pretty full and the garden buzzing with people. An incredibly friendly lady signed us in and led us to a nice table in the newly (and expensively from the look of it) refurbished garden. The garden furniture was comfortable and every table had an umbrella. There is also a nice covered area with electric heating mounted on the walls for colder days. Our drinks order was taken and we were shown a little buzzer attached to the condiments tray that we were to use if we wanted anything - brilliant idea! The menu had plenty of choice and our food arrived quite quickly and was very nice. The service was really good, efficient and friendly, the whole time we were there. It is obvious that a lot of thought has gone into making the pub ‘Covid-friendly’ and the system they are operating works well. We were delighted to be able to part with our hard-earned cash somewhere so nice and welcoming!

Driving by one day stopped for a beer, they keep Doombar as well in their cellar as it’s kept in Cornwall 100% to the cellar man or lady. So next day we decided to eat there, great fish and Chips said my better half, I had the duck breast really superb excellent. Ordered another beer and asked for the desert menu. Twenty minutes later asked where the beers were, guv comes out and says sorry forgot it was sitting on the bar, where’s the desert menu sorry I forgot. Another ten minutes went by we finished our beer and paid and left not bothering to chase the desert menu again. So disappoint Ed as it was day three of outside service following lockdown and they weren’t busy just not bothered enough to keep on top of where the customer was. Sorry let themselves down and that’s not good on the first week of opening

This is such a great pub. Fabulous food well presented and well priced. Great service from Kevin, Carol, Ceriann and all the staff. We felt very Covid safe and well looked after. We love it there!

We paid a visit on Wednesday for an evening meal, unfortunately we are only visitors to the Cotswolds otherwise we’d be in here all the time! Food was absolutely wonderful as always, cooked to perfection and totally delicious .. and as for the Christmas pudding, best I’ve tasted in a long time. Needless to say we would highly recommend this lovely brassiere and hope to be back next year.

Another beautiful meal today - both myself and my husband had the hot and spicy beef coconut curry and it didn’t disappoint it was absolutely delicious. Very well organised under the current restrictions and great to be able to support local businesses.

Absolutely superb meal with genuinely one of the best roasts I have ever had. Two huge slices of beef cooked to perfection. We had one child's meal (the 'smaller' roast) that was equally amazing and excellent value for money. Sticky toffee pudding was superb. Be aware this is not an ancient Cotswolds pub full off nooks and crannies - this is functional space in a smart modern environment that felt safe without being over the top. I cannot wait to return.

We were visiting a shop nearby and since the round trip was a few hours we thought we’d break up our journey home with a Sunday lunch stop here with our 3 yr old. Well what an unexpected find! COVID measures were top notch, the staff were really friendly but it was the food that really made it. We’ve had a lot of Sunday roasts and are massive foodies and can honestly say this was one of the best ones we’d ever had (we had pork and beef). And when your child says ‘mmm, delicious’ while eating you know you’re onto a winner! (She had the omelette). Of course we had to have pudding - sticky toffee pudding and cheesecake - and they were worth all the calories! Definitely worth a visit.

Although this is basically a pub, the cuisine has more of a fine dining feel about it but at pub prices. All food was very well presented and delicious.

Staying in Broadway we wanted somewhere reasonable for dinner, and found this inn a couple of miles away.It looks as though it has been recently extended and decorated to a good modern standard, probably about 50 covers.They are very well organised for the current restrictions.The menu is reasonably varied, I had duck and my wife had salmon both of which were good. The wine list was ok.Reasonable pricing, efficient friendly service, a good meal.

My wife had tempura squid which was so light.Main course medallions of beef beautifully cooked with a mushroom and light stilton Sause and new potatoes stuffed with cheese and crab and interesting combination but it worked. Wife had the duck and th portions were just right size and presentation wonderful. Not rushed. Is there a down side.......... Well there is just limited car parking

Whilst spending a few days in The Cotswolds staying in Broadway we were recommended to try the Inn & Brassiere in Childswickham and we were not disappointed the food was glorious the staff were brilliant, it was so good we went back again so we would highly recommend it

Sat outside in the lovely Beer Garden (Pet Friendly) Food Lovely, Staff very Pleasant Only 5 Minute drive from Broadway yet seems a Million miles from anywhere. Would Highly Recommend if your visting Childswickham.

Nos hemos alojado en Childswickham durante unas vacaciones de una semana y hemos comido 3 veces en este restaurante. La comida ha sido increíble. Hemos probado una comida diferente cada noche y no me ha decepcionado. Comida de excelente calidad y también excelente presentación. ¡El personal hace un esfuerzo adicional! ! Será triste volver a casa. ¡Ojalá pudiéramos llevarnos este restaurante con nosotros! ! ¡Bien hecho y gracias! !

Came here friday evening after reading the reviews on here, so glad we did!! It was amazing!! Food was delicious, staff were very friendly and more importantly Covid guidelines were followed, we felt very safe! We will definitely be back next time we are visiting The Cotswolds..

We visited this place for the 2nd time last night. At the time of our visit it was ranked 1st in the area for restaurants and it didn't disappoint! The staff were friendly and the social distancing measures highly organised. The menu was mid level priced with plenty of choice. I had salmon and my wife had the vegetarian fish cakes. Both mains were excellent. We shared the chocolate brownie and sticky toffee pudding for desert. Both were excellent! Nice range of real ales. It is a short drive from Broadway but well worth it.

A very popular destination with a good range of traditional fayre on offer and giving good value. A major extension a few years ago provides a bright garden-room setting. Well worth a visit.

It was my birthday treat with family to go to the Inn, having ate there last year. The menu oozed lots of choices- two of us sampled the tuna steak,which was cooked to perfection and delicious, one has fish and chips, always a winner and I had a juicy steak with peppercorn sauce, exactly as I like it. All the desserts were home made.

Food and service wonderful as usual. First time I've been since lockdown, which is why I really wanted to write the review. We all felt very safe here, could see that a lot of thought had gone into your process and good to see that it was being adhered to. Even during the booking process could tell that we were in safe hands. A few of the other local pubs and restaurants could do with taking a leaf out of your book. Thanks again and will certainly have no qualms about returning to you during this strange time.

Just got back from a fabulous Sunday lunch at the Childswickham Inn. Everything is very well run, you are made to feel very safe and relaxed all at the same time. The food is of the highest quality and presentation is superb. Looking forward to our next visit soon

I’ve been often to this hidden gem. It has always been a great meal with some nice choices of dishes on the menu. Covid rules were outstanding and every precaution taken. Service impeccable. Food was visually stunning and delicious. Couldn’t find anything to fault at all. Well done in difficult times.

A truly cracking venue. First visit but it is now on our firm favourite listing. They have adopted an efficient methodology to dealing with all COVID related requirements without it being at all overbearing. All staff were friendly and efficient. Extensive menu of appealing dishes. Beautifully presented and absolutely delicious food. Halloumi with chilli dip for starters. Duck for my wife and jerk chicken and veg curry for me. Awesome. The owners, Carol and Kevin run a first class venue. Well done and many thanks for a truly delightful evening. Now looking forward to Sunday lunch in three weeks time.... can’t wait

We had dinner at the pub (six adult family members) and it was a really good experience. The food was excellent, there's a wide choice of menu options and the team are very friendly and attentive. We'd all recommend a visit.

Went here on our weekend away to the Cotswolds. Opted for the steak which was cooked to perfection.the only downside was overhearing the staff comment on guests which was bad to hear.Mainly the youngest girl who said table 7 is really getting on my nerves.Dont let this put you off great food otherwise

We ate here this evening on the introduction of a Facebook friend. What a find! Sensational menu. Could literally have chosen any meal. The salmon and crayfish Wellington was outstanding. The staff first rate and very friendly. Also the service was faultless. Finally the Covid procedures and attention to detail brilliant. No hesitation in eating here again next time we are in the Cotswolds.

This is a regular favourite for lunch with a fantastic range on the menu. They also do a great New Years Eve party. Well worth the 2 mile walk from Broadway.

Lovely country pub serving fabulous homemade food in a lovely village on the outskirts of Broadway. Very observant of the government guidelines for Covid 19. Nice friendly staff and the owners are warm and welcoming. Definitely worth the long drive out from Essex. Can thoroughly recommend the wonderful food, and good value for money too.

We met friends for a meal. The food and service were first rate and we felt very safe and well looked after.

We arrived a little bit earlier, but was greeted by a very helpful young lady, who took our details. Our table wasn’t ready, so we went to sit outside. Then they told us another table was available. The table was clean and they are very covid19 secure, see later My wife had the smoked salmon, crayfish cocktail which came up in a large bowl, which she really enjoyed. I had the basil tomato soup. Which was great and lovely warm bread For main, my wife had, twice cooked belly port, which she fell in love with. I had the sausage and mash which wonderful too. We both had the cheese board which was a delight. The staff have made the place covid19 secure with well space tables, open windows and doors. Cleaning the tables after each customer had left. Fully recommend!!

Last night of our few days in the Cotswolds and fancied dinner out, so was looking for somewhere local with good reviews who would take our small (well behaved) dog. This turned out to be a great choice. Lovely staff, nice bottle of wine, wonderful food, not too expensive. Will definitely recommend to family and will visit again when we next come to the Cotswolds.

Good service and great food, wife had the mushroom starter and main as venison which she said was great, I had the prawn starter and steak for main (Thursday special)

We had drinks in the garden whilst earlier diners finished their meal & our table was sanitised. The social distancing measures & system were excellent & as always, we had an exceptional meal. The staff were their usual friendly, efficient selves - working hard in what must be challenging circumstances. Booked again for a weeks time & looking forward to it!Well done & thanks!

I visited with friends, we were greeted at the door and shown to our table in the garden by a very friendly member of staff, we had a call button for service and we didn’t have to leave our table at all. The food came out very quickly and was so tasty! Jerk King Prawn curry- very flavourful. We will be visiting again. Thank you.

Had a really nice meal with my family , lovely food but there was no social distancing or mask covering from staff. They had no gloves masks or visors.

The staff member who took our booking was very friendly and helpful. When we arrived, the Covid measures in place were clear and well thought out. I order a tuna steak with prawn risotto, my companion had sausage and mash. Both were lovely. The ice cream we had for dessert was also really good. I would definitely visit here again, it was a great evening out.

We came on the eat out scheme all the food was excellent very busy for tue the staff Were in a lot of pressure and seemed understaffed can’t wait to go back when less busy

Easily one of the best meals we have had on our two week tour of Cornwall and The Cotswolds! Very attentive from a COVID point of view, and great service. Our waitress was extremely busy but we were never left waiting. The food was amazing and my son enjoyed his first ever steak, he was impressed as were we all. We hope to come back this way and would definitely be eating here again, maybe even before we leave the area!

Sadly not worth the higher than standard prices and overall frustrated with it.Extremely stretched service despite the waitresses trying as hard as they could, not helped by the extra customers due to the Government Eat out to Help out scheme and it being short staffed.But why so many tables done when there wasn’t the staff ?, annoying when your paying enough.Nice quality food but portions a little on the small side.Won’t be rushing back.

Visited with my friend and his two children. Very friendly and accommodating. Great service, brilliant food and fantastic value. Good selection of ales available. Covid precautions managed very well, good one way system in place. Menu still extensive throughout covid and the after eight creme brulee is amazing!!

First visit and throughly enjoyed it. Last minute look for a Sunday lunch that allowed dogs. Great food and friendly staff. Roast beef and trimming delicious and the desserts just as good. lots of space around us for dogs not to be bothered outside. Would return.

We booked a table at 8:30pm, last table available. The first thing that we noticed is how well organizsd they are with covid-19 measures. We were welcomed at the entrance and shown the table. Very clean. We ordered a starter (duck pancakes: quite good), beef brisket (delicious), steak and kidney pie (also delicious) and a desert. Very good portions well presented. Total expense, including a glass of wine and an ale: 57£. I'd go back any time. Highly recommended.

Thank you to Carol and her excellent staff for everything they did to help us celebrate my Dad’s 80th birthday, Nothing was too much trouble and they were all extremely accommodating, even producing a vegan menu. The food was excellent as usual and it was a perfect end to a lovely day. Very Covid-19 safe, with excellent measures in place. Thank you all for all your hard work during these difficult times.

The food here was good and the restaurant and garden area are pleasant. The staff were friendly and were working well under Covid guidelines so thumbs up for that.

Had a meal when staying locally in the area and was really impressed the food was delicious and well presented . The staff were friendly and welcoming and the measures put in place for covid 18 were exceptional and well planned unlike some other pubs in the area . A great meal and experience .

Superb measures in place to safe guard people visiting. We had a Sunday lunch ; food was fantastic and staff as attentive as ever . Highly recommended.

We took a group of 14 to lunch at the end of a weekend of very big birthday celebrations and were treated to an outstanding Sunday lunch Everyone thought the food was excellent both starters and main, no one had room for the desserts. Highlight was the yorkshire puddings which were about the size of Yorkshire. This brasserie continues to serve high quality meals consistently

Delicious lunch here today with friends. The men both had the classic pie and the ladies had chicken curry. All good and generous portions. The puddings were also good. Service, comfortable chairs and atmosphere were just right. In the conservatory was more like a restaurant than a pub but that suited us. Hope to return soon!

Met some friends from Birmingham for Sunday lunch. Fantastic, found on trip advisor, we will be coming back. Excellent food, service, environment and the value for money was very good. Highly recommended.

We had been recommended by friends, and reading previous reviews I see my opinion of the restaurant is very different from other’s. Firstly the atmosphere- the main dining room is in a conservatory and so lacks ‘the country pub’ feel. We are here at night so there were no views to be had, and for us the table and room lacked charm. There was also a distinct lack of delicious aromas. Service was ok but the food was very disappointing. The menu was overly wordy and every dish we had lacked flavour. I ordered aubergine parmigiana as a main course, which bore very little resemblance to the original, which I found inedible. The restaurant did not charge us for this dish. Our party of four were all very underwhelmed by the standard of cooking and we shall not be returning.
