We have been coming here for many years with no issues, however we have noticed it has been going down hill over the past year & tonight gave it the benefit of the doubt but is the last time we will visit. I had the mighty man mix grill which came with raw pork loin! The waitress took the meal back to the kitchen & returned only a few minutes later with the meal saying they had cooked the pork more. This is completely disgusting for a restaurant, anyone would know you should replace the whole meal if it’s come into contact with raw meat. This wasn’t the case for this pub. This then put my wife off her chicken melt meal which may I add stated it was topped with bacon, I can assure you it was packet ham.. not what I paid my money for. I wouldn’t allow my daughter to eat her meal after that. This standard is unacceptable as it wasn’t even busy for a Saturday night. We simply asked for a full refund and left hungry after giving them the chance to rectify the problem. One disappointed family.

Food really well cooked, all served piping hot. Excellent choices on menu.

Had a lovely lunch with a friend. Lunch and dessert and a drink costs £25 for the two of us. Really friendly staff. The setting is beautiful as well

Came here for a large joint birthday meal as it is midway between the various branches of the family. Staff were generally friendly and helpful, although one member of staff was giving quite the impression of a good night out the night before. When I went to ask for some paper towels after a drinks spill, I was a bit surprised to be given an handful of blue-roll paper and that no-one came to check if we needed more, but I suppose it was what I had asked for... I suppose I had just expected that a member of staff would come over, but never mind! Food was of a good standard, chicken a bit tough and was disappointed that they were out of the Taste of the Deep South as several of us wanted it, but it all came out hot. For the price, it is a very good option and has a generally clean and welcoming feel to it, and it is somewhere we will be returning to.

Very disappointed! Haven't been to the honey bee in probably 15yrs. Did book a table but upon arrival we were told we could sit anywhere as it only had a handful of customers. We chose a table, sat down and started looking at the menu, the table was dirty so I went and asked for a cloth at the bar, yes the member of staff offered to come and clean it but I wanted it done proper because as I was walking to the bar I run my hand over all the other tables and they were the same as ours. We ordered a steak and chicken dishes and the meals were brought out quite rapid. The waiting staff came to do a check within minutes of it being placed on the table, asked if it was alright and as we'd only eat a few chips we replied yes. Once starting on the meats, the steak was not cooked right, it was on too high as it was cooked on the outside and not in the middle, the chicken had been in the microwave too long as it was like rubber. When the waiting staff came to clear the plates they asked if everything was fine where I brought to the attention of the rubbery chicken, she stated she'd speak to the manager. I then went to the bar to order pudding and another drink, she stated that because I'd not mentioned when she did the check back the manager stated there was nothing he'd do but gave the pint for free, I stated I hadn't even tried it by the time she'd come to the table! Pudding you can't go wrong as it's removed from a packet put on a plate and brought to the table. I had fruit cider and it was flatter than a witches t*t. I won't be returning...

Friendly and efficient staff. Good food at great prices and an ideal location with good parking. What more could you ask for!

Go here quite a lot, celebrated birthdays and anniversaries here, prices are very good, food is fantastic and the staff are very helpful and friendly, would highly recommend.

Came here on a date night with my partner had the 2 steaks and bottle off wine for £25. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the service from the staff was very good will be returning.

I rated this poor as we went for a meal for an anniversary. I had ordered three small dishes, and it was all just warm. Hubby had a steak which was very chewie. He left alot of it and was left hungry. Will not go again till I hear good reports. Spoilt the occasion.

Cottage pie had no gravy I did ask for so I said it doesn’t come with gravy but did get some as it was a frozen cottage pie warmed up it had no taste hardly any meat I did say to the member of staff just said sorry Said some are like that was very disappointed

Visited for my sister's birthday two days before Christmas, large party of 17 of us, last minute booking and they managed to not only get us in but sat us all together. Lovely friendly service and meals bought out very close together, all good done excellent and great value, so much so we're back again just over a week later 😁

We had our Christmas dinner at the Honey Bee and it certainly did not disappoint. The food was delicious (and plenty of it!) & every member of staff we saw or spoke to had a smile on their face (even when working on Christmas Day) we couldn’t fault the food or the afternoon as a whole & will definitely return next year to enjoy the same again. A fantastic Christmas meal, thank you Team Honey Bee!

Exceptional value.....been before had the two steaks and wine for £25....good then and again today. Steak cooked to perfection...mine rump medium rare and better halve rump rare .....wine decent for the money, good timely service and no complaints....difficult to find better value in the locality.

Disappointing : there was literally 20 people in the whole restaurant . A bit of a wait for the drinks , then I went and ordered food … over £60 for 2 mains and a starter and 3 coffees ! That should have been a sign of how things would go ?? Food was very basic , chicken was dry , and very little staff in view . We then wanted coffee floaters which took a further 20 mins to get to the table …well the first one anyway , we were just about to leave and get a refund but one coffee turned up ( there were 3 in the party ) then 6 mins later the next coffee came so on and so forth . We were there for 2 hours and by the time we left ( 9pm ) there were no other patrons in the whole pub , and the staff were busy on their phones as we exited. We certainly won’t be going back I’m afraid , not at those prices dry food and lack lister service .

We were a family party of three dining out together to celebrate the onset of Christmas. We had pre booked a table anticipating a busy evening as it was a Saturday night but we had the choice of the entire pub as there were very few people there. The food was over cooked and therefore dry and unappetising. Finally, we ordered liqueur coffees and having waited twenty five minutes for them to arrive at our table ( we were the only customers there at this time) we were informed that a part of the coffee machine wasn’t where it should be found hence the wait whilst they looked for it! On the whole ….not impressed and extremely disappointed

Was really excited to come to the honey bee for the first time yesterday with my wife and kids I had the mixed grill for £20 and can honestly say it was the worst mixed grill I have had two of kids had the pepperoni pizza and were disappointed as its the small frozen pizzas from a supermarket the other 2 had sausage and mash and nuggets and chips which they enjoyed and my wife also didn't mind her rump stake we were offered our dessert for free which was ice cream for the kids I didn't fancy anything after feeling disappointed by my food unfortunately won't be returning

Needed to pop in to pay the remaining balance for our Christmas day meals. We had some confusion because our in laws added on to the original booking and we had lost the receipt for our original booking. Staff members Kelly and Shannon were a great help. Both very patient, understanding and helpful. Manager wasn't present so Kelly liaised with him over the phone and sorted everything out very efficiently. Fantastic service!

First time I've been hear and we was the only table in there I now know why as it was awfull don't know what has happened to this place it used. Staff are useless food was cold and couldn't cope with 1 table god knows what would happen if it was full won't be going again what a let down.

Hair found on meat, and took ages to replace

After our 1st initial call to see if they would mind us booking a table for 20 people for a small informal wedding lunch, the staff couldn’t be more accommodating. We visited before the wedding as the lady (can’t remember her name; Sorry!) invited us to, to see where we would like to be seated and offered to dress the table for us. The lady then rang the week before to confirm final details and for us to bring in the decorations. On the day, the staff were inviting and friendly and couldn’t do enough for us all and truly made the experience memorable. We all ordered various items off the menu (20 of us), it all came out hot and together and the food was very tasty and wholesome. We all said we would be back. Thank you to the whole team.

My friend had the steak which was really good but I had the chicken parmo and the chicken was so tough

Had ham egg chips ham was just like tesco value ham the round this slices never had that anywhere before always carved ham total rip off

Been coming here years but food going down hill again had steak 3 times from there now burnt and so chewy chips not very nice either shame really but won't be going bk no more

Food took ages to come after ordered. The restaurant wasn't very busy. People who have ordered after us were being served way before us. Nearly hour wait for mains . Went up to check on it. Rude waiting staff no apologise for late food. Burnt food bearly. Not happy.

Great Place, Great location, wonderful staff. With being gluten Intolerant they are very cautious and never have any issues Me and family travel one and half hour every couple of weeks for their 2 steaks special ( great valve and great price) Don't get customer service like that any more

A fairly basic pub but great value for money on the steak and wine offer. Order process was efficient and food was very quick to table....ordered four steaks, medium rare and medium and all were cooked to perfection. Free wine was decent quality, nothing special but very pleasant. Overall worth a visit.

Recently visited here again after having meals here a few times over a period of 5 or 6 years, not how I remembered those visits to be honest. Had to order and re-order (4 times) due to not having stock , then once my steak arrived, although it didn't taste too bad, it was absolutely swimming in oil. My mother in law had ordered a pudding afterwards which was an apple pie with custard both freezing cold, just not good enough, you can excuse minor things if the place was heaving but it wasn't. Plenty of staff so no issues from them if you needed anything, although the lady out front needs to brush up on her welcoming skills. As other reviews have pointed out the place is in serious need of a spruce up looks very dated, although the kids play area is really good. I remember saying how this is the first time I've left thinking I wouldn't go back again, which is a shame. There were 9 of us out for my sons birthday meal, we spent roughly £20-30 each.

Just popped in for a coffee no food the two members of staff on duty very friendly and helpful only got the name of one young lady Elle 👍. shall return in the near future for a meal well done The Honey Bee 10 out 10.

Great food and the £25 deal is amazing. Bistro rump was gorgeous no idea how they do it for the price but glad they do. Definitely recommend 👌

Food was well priced but you get what you pay for. The stake was well cooked The share bowl of nachos were stale and cheap. Some of the Staff were blunt and inattentive some were lovely. The location and area is lovely albeit a little hard to get to. The service was pretty good and pricing wasn't bad. But the food wasn't particularly nice, the chips were not nice and the fish was overcooked. The Cottage Pie, Gammon and Burger were the best parts we ordered

Went for the first time today after a recommendation. The food was amazing. Had the gammon which truly was the best I have ever eaten and I have had gammon in lots of places. Nicely set out. Food was served very quickly. Staff were attentive and very polite. Also has a great child's play area! Highly recommend to anyone. Went again and had the bacon burger. It was delicious Burger cooked to perfection and bacon was fantastic. Highly recommend the honey bee. Service quick and friendly as always.

My wife and I like to eat here every few weeks and have found the dining for two for £25 good value but yesterday was a total disappointment the bistro steak was under cooked and uneatable I tried chewing it until I couldn't be bothered anymore most of it was left and what I tried to eat was left in the serviette the food isn't always like that but I will be giving the honeybee a miss for the near future

Lovely pub, nice grounds. Interior was lovely but this was spoilt by the dirty windows. The food was typical pub grub. I had Cajun chicken which was really dry, I couldn’t get the knife through it. The wine glass I had was smeary and dull looking. Needs a lot of fine tuning and more care taken with cleanliness. None of us finished our food so I’m sorry to say we won’t be back.

great atmosphere, warm & friendly service, very clean and inviting, amazing food. we were served at the bar by Joe who was very friendly and helpful, and both waitresses who served us were very nice & friendly. Highly recommended for couples or family. We have eaten here many times, with no complaints ever. Thanks, just fab.

We came here on a hot day to enjoy a light lunch. My husband and I both had the fajitas and they were amazing! The presentation was superb and they were full of flavour. We went back again a few weeks later to celebrate our anniversary. We had the braised beef and the T-bone steak this time. Meat here is incredible! My son loves the menu too, always something he likes and the park outside is safe and enough to keep him amused. The grounds and the pond are beautiful and made a great setting for some photos. The chef even drew a little heart on our pudding ❤️

I asked for well done steak but got rare with blood all over the plate! I sent it back thinking the would replace the complete meal but I was wrong. It came back cooked better but there was still blood all over the plate and the rest of the food was just warm. Not good at all! Shame because we use to rate this place.

Staff are lovely, friendly an welcoming quite a big place also got a kids play area outside, however it cud do with being modernized but it seems it's main customers are the older generation which I do prefer compared to a place full idiots so for someone with anxiety like myself it suited me I felt comfortable here, food was nice but if you venture off the lunch time menu becomes a little over priced for what it is.

Been to the Honeybee many times over the last 20 yrs, its cheap and cheerful, always has availability and a huge car park with childrens play area . BUT this time , it had slipped, ordered our food and drinks and sat down. The place was quite quiet, but the staff were run off their feet, obviously not manned aswell as it should be. We waited a good hour for our food to arrive, and had just decided to ask for our money back and leave due to the wait when our food arrived. Food was excellent and lots of it. There was a distraction of the phone ringing and ringing with no one answering it, - v. annoying , when you are trying to eat and chat, and a phone ringing for ages. Apart from that, all was ok. Would i return?? probably not, as the wait we felt unacceptable . If the management do read these reviews, please look at your staffing levels .

Friday evening, ordered food for four of us. Place was very quiet. Steaks were cooked right, but had clearly been left on the side after cooking as they were just warm, rather than hot. Chips overcooked and greasy, peas not really for eating. The place is pretty tatty and soulless, having been subject to a late 80s / early 90s makeover and nothing has been touched since. Awful stark interior, as was so often the case in those days, dreadful furniture. Really was like travelling back in time 35 years. Zero stars for atmosphere. The kid's play area outside looked new though. Staff friendly and attentive, although food took a long while to arrive despite there not being many customers. Won't be rushing back.

This is regular visit as we really enjoy the Steaks on offer. Value for money is reasonable. Our waitress (Elle) was superb, as were the food and drinks. Our only disappointment was a rowdy group of customers who I have been told come in several times a week. The looked and sounded like a Traveller family. They had about nine children with then, several in Pyjamas. The children ran riot around the place, going from room to room. Also at times standing at the bar.

First time here this evening. Had two 10oz rump steaks and two drinks for £25, great value, steaks were tender and really well cooked. Shannon and the bar staff were really helpful and kind. Lovely experience, will definitely come again.

Myself and my husband visited on a quiet Sunday afternoon (approx 4pm) All staff we met were helpful, polite and very friendly. Abi (Abigail) took our order and was, again, a pleasant member of staff. Food was beautiful and exceptionally filling.

This pub seems to be in the middle of no where. Its best discribed as cheap and chearful. We ordered a sirlion steak, which was cooked really nice. I had burger which was nice. Oven chip were probably a little over done. Total price £29 including two cokes.

Great service but the food needs to be better in content and presentation.

The steak was blue to rare, when asked for medium cook. I could only manage a few mouth fulls , Peas like bullets totally put me off even eating the chips as now the whole plate swimming in blood. The house wine that comes with the steak deal was horrible. Went with a large group of family to celebrate my partners 50th. I will never try the honey bee again. Sorry guys but was shocking..

The pub is located on some really nice grounds and they've got a fairly good selection of beer but the food! If ever a pub scream ping & ding this is it!

Food was dreadful. Starter was burnt & came out with main! Steak was very bland & tough. Looking very shoddy outside. It's a shame.. used to visit alot. Won't bother again

First time visiting and Food was delicious and hearty portions

The pub is in a lovely rural setting, with a children's play area and outside seating. The inside is spacious, with plenty of room around the tables. We were a party of 12 , easily able to get up and go to the bar without squeezing past other diners. Generally my friends were happy with their meals ,but on a personal note, I found the scampi and chips to be a poorer quality, very small scampi , chunky chips which were slightly undercooked and not very nice peas . That said ,the cheesecake of the day was lovely. As the pub got busier the table service did slow down , but that was understandable. This wouldn't put me off visiting again, the staff are friendly and there's a good atmosphere.

First time eating here and sorry to say it will be the last. The place had a very dull atmosphere and it could do with a serious lick of paint. The food was mediocre, my chicken was very dry and hard to swallow.

Food was horrible.. Ordered the Cottage pie and was burnt underneath around edges and tasted cheap and horrible had to swap with my husband for his burger which again tasted cheap. Wouldn't eat here again but is a lovely for a drink as the views are nice over the lake/ pond. Nice play area for kiddies

Great place to eat, staff all friendly and service was quick, not overly busy in the evenings. Children's play area was great for kids. We actually stayed there in our caravans and tents as a group.
