The Vernon in Wychavon

Poor service, starters were average, not bad but noticeably disappointing. Room was cold. Waiter was obviously inexperienced, didn’t check on us, didn’t ask if we were ok or wanted refills, gave us a dismissive hand wave when we asked where our food was after an hour, with only 2 other groups in the entire restaurant. Waited over an hour for mains and decided to leave. Saw 2 plates on the hotplate sat for 15 minutes before being served to a poor table of 2 who commented on their food being cold as we left. The worst part was the cheeky comment left by the manager as we left: “everything is cooked fresh, if you want microwave meals go elsewhere” when referring to meals that took over an hour to cook? No humility, no shame, no interest in providing a service.

Went for a couple of pints , which were great. 4 of us decided to order food , 4 x plowmans . An hour and 10 minutes, plus a few questions to bar staff, food came. Half a sald bag with a bit of cheese and ham sprinkled over it , with a part backed roll , still white still part backed. After questing staff they bought some picked onions and butter. Was just a very poor salad. Proof to the wife I'm not the worse cook within 20 miles

Three of us all ordered Philly beefsteak sandwiches which arrived after over an hour wait. Sandwiches and chips came out cold. There was only about two tables in there eating. Very poor.

Visited at the weekend for drinks and snacks with friends. Nice venue with good atmosphere although not overly busy. They ran out of essentials like lemon and limes for drinks which was a bit surprising.

Visited for mother's day, menu option was Sunday roast. Not the greatest roast I've ever had. Edible, after having to have reheated as served cold, but under seasoned and roast potatoes were poor. We did expect better especially for the price and venue. The venue itself is lovely and the waitresses were very attentive and friendly. Unfortunately due to the food not blowing us away we would not return.

Stayed for a few nights while visiting friends. Lovely place to eat and drink. Plenty of carparking. Our room was small but really nice. Service was always with a smile and the staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

We held our daughters 21st Birthday party here. The guys couldn't do enough for us, the food was great and venue is fantastic. Hats off to the chef and the owners they have a fantastic business. Put it on your list of places to eat.

Absolutely awful service. Never been to a place like it. Went with family of 8 for a family celebration. Table booked for 7pm, Main course arrived at 8.15. The pub wasn't even busy. We had to send 3 meals that were burnt and over cooked or cold. We also had to ask for around of drinks. When we complained about food the chef told us to leave and said we had been rude all night. Only spoken to him once and the on shift manager twice to ask where the food was and to complain about over burnt food. Only managed to take a couple photos of the one meal. Will never go again.

Popped in today for a snack lunch after visiting Hanbury Hall .... Just had a simple ham sandwich and a pint .. lovely welcome, the sandwich was perfect. This pub is a gem so please support them. They try really hard.... Thanks guys ....

Wow .. how to celebrate New Year’s Eve … lovely food and a dance afterwards in the bar .. excellent atmosphere (think the mrs had 1 too many tho ) cheers guys

As part of family festive celebrations, we booked a table for 12. When we arrived at the restaurant, we were told that there was no food, as “the kitchen was having a deep clean”!!! No phone call to inform us. No management on site to even discuss the mistake. No free drinks to even apologise. You don’t just schedule a deep clean and not inform a group of guests that booked weeks in advance, do you? Absolutely ridiculous behaviour by the management.

Christmas lunch consisted of soup served in a cappuccino cup, 3 roast potatoes (unedible), 2 carrots and 2 roast parsnips, 2 very thin slices of turkey, hard stuffing balls(unedible), hard frozen sprouts also unedible. No cranberry sauce offered. Cold frozen Xmas pudding with some sort of cream on top, very disappointed and not worth £95 each. The service was very slow, the experience lasted 4 hours. Avoid this place.

Christmas lunch spoiled!! Awful service !! No cutlery on table when we got there, Cold dinner, veg overdone or undercooked! Cheesecake in a coke dish ?? Couldn’t get the spoon to the bottom of the glass? Christmas pudding looked like someone had puked on the plate,Ice cold in middle. Promised Christmas cake on the menu to take home , but apparently it hadn’t turned up? Also tried to add extra drinks to our final bill although this was rectified when mentioned. Luckily I was sober! Family felt robbed didn’t complain at the time as the meal was a gift for my family.

Dear o dear Xmas day Dinner where do I start for £95 each I was expecting something better than this,stale roast potatoes which I suspect had been batch cooked earlier to save time & money,on a wander around the dining room every plate was full of uneaten potatoes,has anyone ever seen a so called cheesecake made in a Coca Cola glass ( some crushed biscuits with a weird mixture piped on top,very strange ) never mind to Xmas pudding trifle that was hard Xmas pud with another strange mixture all over it.I don’t know haw they expect to con people with this food for these prices,be warned

Evening meal was great. Friendly, good service and very funny bar staff. We would recommend the evening meal. Breakfast was not a good experience. Pre-ordered breakfasts was incomplete. Missing hash browns and black pudding. Portions meagre and tepid. No cups, milk, sugar or teabags for morning cuppa. Very disappointing and would not recommend the breakfasts or breakfast staff. Other than that, a nice place to stay, dog friendly and nice walking area for dogs. Room 2 was slightly noisy.

We have visited many times over the years. It is so sad to see a great local pub be run into the ground. We entered the pub to have a drink as a family, the smell of cigarettes was overpowering. A table of approximately 6 people were sat looking at us. Making us feel very unwelcome, a lady started laughing. Which struck me as odd. She shouted, you will be lucky its last orders. It was 8pm and the patrons already in attendance had full drinks. Bemused and taken aback we looked to the bar man. He then began looking at the other patrons for reassurance. He said erm well.... Another patron began to laugh again saying on go on let them have one. The rest of the group then joined in laughing. A very bizarre experience. We decided to leave, we took our money elsewhere to another local pub. As we left the building we then saw the bar man pulling pints of lager serving them to the table. Despite it being 'last orders'

Nine of us arrived for dinner, booked on November 8th by telephone with the owner, to be told there was no record of our booking, one of the chefs had left since then, as they already had 3 small tables booked they could not cater for us and the owner was neither there nor answering his phone. Half of us had been dropped off. I left my number expecting an apology at the very least but have heard nothing. Luckily the nearby Eagle and Sun pulled out all the stops to help us. Disappointed and disgusted at how far this once premier destination has fallen.

Very disappointed to turn up with a party of 9 to be told the owner hadn't taken down our booking 4 weeks ago. We had to leave and eat somewhere else at very short notice. Shame.

Very friendly staff, nice and clean hotel. Our Room was a bit drafy, the secondary glazing does not work very well; rooms clean and comfortable, if a bit cramped. I really enjoyed my Vernon Burger, but the others in our group were less impressed with their choices Good breakfast choice, cooked to order

Inhospitable, cold, zero ambience. the huge woodburner remains unlit, when I asked why, in zero degrees on a chilly evening didn’t they light it I was told “none of us know how to light it”, which seems feeble. I’ve been here before and it’s never lit. The two sad little Christmas trees had no lights on them, but step into the main restaurant and it’s like sitting in an airport Lounge. The lights could illuminate a stadium, the glare was intense. It’s a cold, austere place to spend time in, which is a pity because the food is great, but soon cools on the plate as the place is freezing. I don’t think the absentee landlord cares about the comfort of his customers. If you’re after a cosy country pub drink or dinner, don’t go to the Vernon, or should I say Cold Comfort Farm!

Had the pleasure of celebrating my 70th birthday at this lovely pub with my family and friends. Food was excellent and of high quality and there is a wide choice of beers and wines etc. Service was also 5 star , staff were attentive ,courteous and very friendly and polite. Special mentions for Amelia,Meg,Laura,Shane and Ed for making my celebration so special. Highly recommend the Vernon a delightful dining experience.

Stayed one night on business and am really impressed. Staff lovely, exceptional food. I had a single room which was clean, had everything in it I needed, including complimentary toiletries. As a frequent business traveller you can't do better than this place.

Called in for lunch on a day out, the food itself was excellent, freshly and swiftly prepared.However, from this point on, the service at table went drastically downhill. We were left looking at our empty plates and glasses for over 30 minutes before we were offered a dessert menu - even though 2 members of staff had walked past us, empty handed to the kitchen. We then waited another 15 minutes before our dessert order was taken.Such a shame as the meal was lovely and the surroundings great, but the poor service completely spoilt the experience. Oh, p.s. - beware the coffee cups, the handles aren't big enough to get your finger thru, so mine slipped and spilt coffee all over me and the table!

Came for dinner this evening. Didn’t book. Large car park next to the Pub. It’s on a busy road but inside is double glazed so noise not an issue. We were shown to our table promptly by a very nice young lady who was quick to get our drinks and take food orders. We opted for Surf & Turf (10oz Ribeye with King Prawns in garlic butter, large mushroom, grilled tomato and rocket salad. Three pints of cold Guinness.My only tiny, tiny issue was there was a bit too much garlic in the butter on the prawns and steak and the garlic could have done with an extra minute cooking as it was a bit underdone. That being said the steak was perfect and we ate everything! The food tasted fresh.The place was very clean and smart. The staff were lovely and very efficient. We could see into the open kitchen and the chefs seemed very happy with a lot of cheerful chat snd banter. It wasn’t busy when we went and mainly older people.We will definitely return and we recommend this pub.Meal was £65.50 for two mains and 3 pints of Guinness.

We visit here often… our go to!Food is so tasty, presented beautifully and homemade, watch it being cooked in the kitchen if you are seated nearby.Portion sizes are not huge, I’d rather have quality over quantity in any case and that’s what you get here. The menu is broad but not massive, but it means what you get is done well.Service and staff are always excellent too.

We booked a table for the last evening of our short break and were glad we did! The service was great, really attentive, polite and friendly staff who were also quick and efficient. I ordered pork belly, wholegrain mustard mash with a black pudding crust, tender stem broccoli and a jus, it was exceptional. Definitely not your average pub meal. The creme brulee (my favourite and dont see it often), was perfect. Reasonable prices, my quiet, well behaved dog was made more than welcome to sit with us while we ate in the bar area, dog treats were available in a jar on the bar. I don't believe dogs were allowed in the restaurant but this is totally fair because not everyone wants other people's dogs around while they're eating - the bar area was spacious and clean so it didn't detract from our experience at all. Just glad to be able to eat out somewhere nice and to take the dog too. There was lots of outdoor seating and loads of parking. If we stay in this area in future, I will definitely visit The Vernon again.

We called in to this pub today for a drink. Wearing masks, when my husband approached the bar the female manager rudely tapped the "table service only" sign. After a turbulent time surely you would welcome customers and explain *with words * how you are operating things. The look of exasperation that followed when she attended said table to take the order! Second drink orders were almost not made due to being ignored by her and her husband. We won't be back.

Driving past here around lunchtime we thought the place look nice and stopped in for a sandwich. As it was a nice day we chose to sit outside which was slightly spoiled by the very busy main road but that’s not the pubs fault. The service was both prompt and friendly and we both chose to have sandwiches and a drink each. A very nice quality sandwich with a good portion size, certainly enough for lunch. It’s also very Covid secure.

Four of us went for the dinner last night. My father in law had fish and chip. Sister had belly pork. My partner had steak pie. I had halibut. Their meal was good and reasonable portion. My meal was good but the portion was very small. Like small piece of fish, one table spoon of mash, one table of spinach and 2 asparagus! I am not a big eater but I could just ate the meal in 5 mins!! £19 meal. I was still hungry after that! I don’t expect a huge portion and that was really disappointed. Anyway, I thought I told the manager my comment about my meal! Perhaps little bit more on the mash or a couple of garlic bread! His replied was “a steak as the side dish lol! “. What a comment! Just rude and not professional at all! I was a restaurant owner and that was poor services! So I ordered rhubarb crumble for my pudding but it was very sour! I only had the custard and the crumble after all! I definitely won’t eat there again!

We chose this restaurant to celebrate my son's christening before we entered lockdown for the 1st time. The manager was very helpful and we agreed on a price to hold 50 people with food to celebrate. A few days prior the manager left without warning due to unreasonable upper management & I understand that it was a difficult time but upon arriving the room wasn't set up correctly. There was no tables out just chairs around the room, no tablewear, no cutlery, no condiments.The food that arrived was very nice but not worth the sum that I paid nor was there enough to feed all party members, the vegetarian options and the childrens options were also missing. I complained to a member of staff to be told I would have to pay for more food? But I had agreed a sum with the manager. Clearly there was no handover but feel this could of been handled much better. Disappointing as this was a special day to celebrate with family and friends which resulted in a disappointing ending.This review is before we entered lockdown.

I note a person making references to disabled parking and I have to disagree with their moaning as I am disabled and had no difficulty being able to park in the spaces provided by the owners.I thought their scoring of 1 was very unreasonable and not sure what their motive was - given they had a good meal at the restaurant and were able to park anyway.As a disabled person myself I get very fed up with the disabled thought police who appear to have nothing better to do than go around looking for issues and think they speak for all of us.....but they don't.This establishment does not have such an issue with disabled parking and their food and service is exemplary and very Covid safe.I would have no hesitation in recommending it whether you are disabled or not.Thank you - we will happily return again.

Booked this last week as my partner wanted to go out for her Birthday. Not going to lie, i was not keen on the idea, so i selected a pub in our zone / district that I had heard of but not been to many many years. Have to admit it was great! From the moment we walked in, the staff were friendly, professional and did everything expected in these times.Our waitress was brilliant! Did not catch her name but she had dark hair and was working Saturday evening (19/12/20). She was attentive without being 'in your face' and knew what she was talking about when asked. The food was awesome! I had king prawns and the chicken main course which was wrapped in pancetta. Very nice and the sauce was outstanding. You could argue that with not having been out in literally 9 months that I would know little, but i fully complement the kitchen!All in all, Covid rules were adhered too, my partner and I had a great evening just the 2 of us. We felt secure and I cannot fault anything!Thank you very much! I will be recommending this restaurant with no issues at all.

We live local in Feckenham so keep willing this place to improve and as such we return in the hope that it does as we are so starved of decent places to eat in the area. We ate here last Tuesday, once again the food was less than average and the service quite poor, no appears to be in charge. I think we will now give up.

We booked here on the recommendation of the owner of a local apartment where we were staying for a couple of nights. We were not disappointed. A very pleasant environment, friendly welcoming and efficient staff and a delicious meal. If we lived locally we would be regulars!

The Covid pandemic and the expectation of our first grandchild has meant we have limited our time in public spaces. However given the recent good weather we decided today 18th September, to book a table, with a request to be outdoors, at the Vernon for a mid afternoon meal. Having tried to contact the Vernon 3 times on the day by telephone, with 2 calls seemingly deliberately disconnected after getting through to the restaurant, I decided to use the online booking site Quandoo. I assume Quandoo who have been approved by the Vernon management for their bookings, given that the Vernon themselves do not appear to have a website booking system. Table booked and confirmed for 3pm we set off in anticipation arriving at the Vernon at 2.50pm. We waited outside, seating ourselves at a table, when a few minutes later the most unfriendly, unwelcoming waitress came to our table to clear it. I mentioned our booking to her to be told unapologetically that 'oh we don't serve food now the chef left at 2.30' - we were not amused receiving only a less than heartfelt apology. We left the Vernon, and decided to visit one of their local competitors a few minutes away, the Ewe & Lamb, where although we had not booked, accommodated us with open arms and a friendly welcome. We had a faboulas 2 course meal and great service for £15 per head. So thanks to The Vernon for being so unfriendly and inept which led to us having a really enjoyable afternoon and guess where we shall be frequenting next time and also recommending to our friends and family! We stopped off here for lunch on our way to Hanbury Hall. I had the fillet steak, which was cooked to perfection and my wife's meal was also superb. The service could not have been better.

Decided to go out on my quad today and call in at the Vernon restaurant/pub in Hanbury. Having been here many times before and had terrific service, I proceeded to the bar to order a pint of the cider that I normally drink, unfortunately they were sold out of that so I had another cider which was acceptable. The waitress came out (very pleasant girl) and asked me if I would like another drink I replied are you doing the government scheme deal and she replied yes so I asked if I could order a meal she then said unfortunately we’re fully booked up, I was sitting outside of the time I thought to myself there’s only three people in there and all I want is something light! so I replied I’ll go elsewhere as I want something to eat. I’ve always praised this establishment on reviews especially TripAdvisor unfortunately this time it did not come up to my expectations.

Good service from welcoming staff. It was nice to see the Vernon take measures to ensure social distancing. We enjoyed our drinks in the outdoors before the torrential downfall of rain!

Our friends took us here for lunch and it was excellent in all respects. Good service from happy staff with good hot food and favourable remarks from everyone at the table, couldn't fault our experience. Well done all the the Vernon.

Visited the Vernon for Sunday lunch with my husband. Great selection on the menu, not just roast dinners. My husband had the roast beef while I had the vegetarian option and both were delicious. Puddings were yummy too and the staff were friendly and efficient. We could not have asked for more and we will definitely be returning to celebrate family occasions here in the future.

Such a lovely restaurant and bar. Delicious, reasonably priced, food and super staff. We had a lovely evening and will come again. Disappointed there was no vegan menu in Veganuary though.

The food was absolutely delicious. Staff were so welcoming and attentive. 2nd time in 6 weeks we have visited there. Would actually go out of our way to eat there.

A late arranged opportunity to meet with friends, two of whom are vegetarian, prompted a phone call to book a table - as we couldn’t quite believe it when the website said we could book at any time for Sunday lunch! - and because the vegetarians wanted to check the menu. In the event, only the Sunday lunch menu was available - but it was excellent. Between us we selected roast turkey, roast beef, roast lamb, a curry, the vegetarian option - and for the sixth person a massive selection plate of all the vegetables available! The servings were generous, the service was great and laced with humour (always good!) and the food for both the main course and sweets was all delicious. We will definitely be using the venue for another rendezvous soon. What’s more our huge table for six had the most magnificent throne like chairs!

Visited the vernon since we heard it was under new management., the previous lady was rather rude so we boycotted ourselves and wow what a transformation, no more youngsters and what goes with that type of clientele.

Booked three weeks in advance via their website. Received an email the day before our visit asking to confirm the booking, which I did. On arrival it was quite clear that they had not got a table for us. A waitress asked us to wait while she tried to sort it out. No explanation given. Waited a further 25 minutes before the manager advised us that they were trying to find a table. Very rude manager who did too little too late, blamed everyone but himself (staff, too many customers, website and the previous manager allegedly running off with the takings). We finally decided to go elsewhere. Will not be going back to the Vernon. One star is too good. Shocking.

The second time I’ve visited and the VERNON has excelled in the last month under the new management.I had a Sunday lunch experience to die for , the roast potatoes were amazing .Unfortunately on this occasion of dining we were short of time so never experienced the desserts .Brilliant hospitality at its best by the VERNONS team .Keep up the good work .

Visited the Vernon for a special Anniversary, we were given a warm welcome and made to feel special because of the Anniversary. The food was delicious and we will definitely be going back. Thanks to all the staff that made it special!!

Been coming here regularly for about 5 years now, it's our local and has been our favourite place to go for a drink and a meal. Venue is great, food and drink are fantastic. Recommended stop, but has lost something with longer waits for service and the atmosphere feels one of "fly by" visitors.

Excellent food and service overall. Everything was perfect, the service was excellent and so was the food. cant fault them at all. will definately return.

This is a beautiful pub in a nice setting. We arrived and was greeted by a member of staff and made to feel very welcome. All the staff were very friendly, polite, welcoming and helpful. We were seated straight away and ordered our drinks. After ten minutes We all decided what we wanted to eat and ordered the food which all came out in good time and was fresh, high quality, piping hot food. It was delicious and we all very much enjoyed the meals. This was the first time we have visited here and it definitely won't be the last. Overall a fantastic experience can't thank the staff enough they were great!

Visited for Sunday lunch with a group of friends. Extremely well looked after. Smiles from the staff, ordered at the table ( 15 of us ) nothing to much trouble. Starters came out quickly. Once finished table cleared and within five minutes main courses. Big hot dishes of mixed vegetables, extra gravy and all the appropriate sauces brought to the table. I had the roast lamb - lots of it , lean meat and best taste I have ever had. I dont know who supplies the meat but keep it up. Well done to the chef. A number of us to full for desserts but those that did have them said they were great. We will return. Thank you.

Whilst visiting friends just up the road we managed to book a table for 5 at the last minute...The Vernon is a welcoming mix of oldy worldly & modern design and is beautifully clean.The restaurant isn't particulary big but along with being able to see the chefs prepare our food in the pristine, clean kitchen this just added to the charm.

This was a spontaneous stop off for lunch on a Friday. Lovely warm welcome, good banter, good menu, delicious food (Red Thai Curry) and overall great experience. Good value for money and will be back to try the Sizzling Fajitas!!

Had Sunday lunch here, nice place and ambiance with good menu. Two of us had lamb which turned out to be a poorchouce since it was a very tough meat without the tenderness which one would usually associate wit lamb.

Staff are fantastic food is amazing accommodation was great. I cant wait to return. Highly recommended for events/quiet night/family gathering. I had a beautiful time.

Stayed on the 27th of June during a heatwave. Couldn’t open my window because my room was next to the noisiest kitchen extractor fans. Awful nights sleep because of heat and noise. Mentioned at breakfast to the lady serving and her reply was ‘nothing we can do about that’. She then proceeded to be ‘off’ with me as though I had done something wrong. Couldn’t even manage to say goodbye when I got up to leave and instead said loudly ‘have you paid?’

A date night to remember! Super food, beautiful settings. Friend staff. Food was very well cooked and presented! Definitely be back!

Great selection of food available on the Father’s Day set menu. Food plated to an impressively high standard and portion sizes were spot on. Delicious food and excellent service despite being busy.

Very very nice food I had Stone baked pizza which was beautiful and a couple of pints of HPA (I think) this was kept well, Service was excellent and attentive, would definitely recommend

Visited with family, really reasonably priced, staff were friendly, portion sizes good and food was hot.

My wife and I had our evening meal here. The staff are very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The menu has a good choice of meals. I had a pizza and chips and my wife had chicken with chorizo and goats cheese stuffing. The food is of a good quality and the wines and gins are excellent. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and you can move into the bar if you like when you have had your meal.

We had eaten here once before so decided to go again. We arrived mid afternoon and asked if they had a table for two and they said yes but there was a wait of about 30 - 40 minutes (it wasn't overly busy but they said they were short staffed) anyway we decided we would wait. We ordered drinks and then some olives and bread to keep us going.

What a brilliant little hotel this is. I stayed here for 2 days and loved every minute. The staff can't do enough for you and are allways chirpy! Rooms and facilities are spot on.. I will be back

Got here and the bar area was very busy and very loud. Waited in the entrance way where there looked like a checking in area, however waited and waited and no one came so went to the bar. Got seated right in front of the kitchen area. Which was very loud and everytime they rang the bell for service it made us jump. Had the sharing platter to start which was lovely and plenty for 2. Had the chorizo chicken for main, which was nice, but the sauce tasted like pasta sauce and was very odd. Had the chocolate bomb which on the menu said it came with warm cherry sauce, however it came with chocolate sauce on top and then a warm cherry sauce on the side, which wasn't needed, have one sauce or the other. While watching the kitchen we noticed them putting a lot of frozen straight from the bag food on. Went to pay for the bill and they'd added a peroni onto the bill, said to them we didn't have one and they didn't act surprised that it was on there, almost like they'd done it on purpose . Also had to wait ages for them to then sort the bill out, as their only seemed to be one person doing everything.

Was delighted with the quality of the food and attentive waitress. Decor in old part of pub creates a warm ambience . Would have preferred similar low lighting in the restaurant.

We came here for a birthday meal and had a few drinks in the bar area before being shown our table which was away from the main area and by the serving pass. We had a shared starter which was enough food for four of us and we didn’t really have enough room left for the main course. My husband had the fish & chips which was tasty and massive!! I chose the paella which was a bad choice as it was soggy and over cooked. A good evening was had by all and the waitress was fantastic, she was run off her feet but still made time to make us welcome.

Ten friends last Saturday for a birthday meal.

The food was a taste sensation. Presented well and the staff was friendly and very very good at thier job.

Phoned last minute to reserve a table for six, they were busy but managed to accommodate us. Very friendly welcome, great service, reasonably priced menu - we were pleasantly surprised and would highly recommend it to anyone. Looking forward to coming back!

I went with a group of people of varying ages. We all enjoyed it. The food was beautifully cooked and good quality. The welcome and service was efficient and friendly. A really excellent restaurant.

Six of us turned up after a visit to Hanbury Hall. Being a Sunday they only had their Sunday menu but were very happy to allow us to have lots of starters rather than a huge meal. We are very grateful for their ability to accommodate us. We had a great family meal in a quiet area.

We went here for Sunday for a family birthday celebration. Excellent food and service. We really enjoyed the surrounding and food. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and will be going again.

Not been to this place for many years. Completely changed since our last visit.

Very quiet when we arrived, but with a big car park, so this place obviously gets very busy at times. Booking a table is advisable, if nothing else than you won't want to miss the very good Sunday lunch these guys do - lovely roast with all the trimmings including a delicious cauliflower cheese and yorkshires. Yum, and I even found room for a frankly scrumptious chocolate tart. Great food, although the staff are a little bit cool I've found. Maybe its just me. NB the road outside is very fast, and the turn into the car park can be hairy, so take it easy. Good provision for disabled users.

First time visiting this restaurant for Sunday lunch. We were with a group of friends. Excellent food, both starters and main courses and even the desserts for those who had enough room to eat them. Very efficient waitress wo took our lunch orders. Everything came out together. Lots of us had the roast - either beef, lamb or turkey but some had the salmon. The Yorkshire puddings were massive. Meals served with roast potatoes and some roast vegetables and then huge dishes of additional vegetables came out along with sauces and extra gravy. Staff checked a couple of times test we were OK. Great service, highly recommended , we will return.

Just had superb lunch at Vernon. Great situation loads of space, excellent service and presentation.

The staff are helpful and polite although on the night went, I'd say they were short staffed. They had a small birthday party going on (6-8 people) All the focus were on them.

Stayed in this 5 bedroom hotel come restaurant come bar. Absolutely wonderful in every way. The room, the food, the staff are All unrivalled. Stayed in Five different hotels this week and this knocks all the others into a cocked hat. If your anywhere near Droitwitch of North Worcestershire this place is a must visit place.

We ate in the restaurant as we were staying in the hotel above, they do have somewhat of a captive audience in that respect however the food was delicious. I had the fish and chips and my partner had the beef madras. Both were delicious, both generous portions - the fish and chips was absolutely massive though! Service was great and the staff were very friendly. Would highly recommend! Restaurant was clean and tidy however other parts of the pub looked as though they could do with a clean/refresh.

Visited for lunch with friends. Staff could not have been friendlier and the service was excellent through out. The w and sat outside. The whitebait starter was hot, fresh tasting and crispy with excellent home made tartare sauce. Three of us had lamb for the main course and one the stuffed chicken breast - all so tasty and beautifully cooked. We asked for mint sauce and this was home made and clearly not from a jar. We could fault nothing at all and will certainly visit again....soon!

...after being told that this was a great place to eat! Staff were welcoming but the restaurant/bar areas looked very “grubby”. I can only assume that it was the cleaners day off and the extractor fans in the kitchen were not working properly as there was a really awful greasy smell throughout!

Such a hot day so we requested a table outside (after booking online) and this wasn’t a problem. Two menus to choose from, the outdoor or indoor. Three of us had the sizzling fajitas which were lovely! Thought the prices were very good too. Finished off with desserts that we’re great and also good portions in size. Staff were friendly and service was good too. An enjoyable evening!

Went for first time as this restaurant had been recomended. Food was fine but service was really slow despite it not being too busy. Not sure how they would cope if it got really busy. Staff were pleasant and location is really nice

I visited The Vernon last weekend for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered the courgette tagliatelle which was very fresh and tasty. My husband and friends ordered a pizza , madras curry and a burger and they all enjoyed their meals. The restaurant decor is both modern and comfortable. The Vernon staff were very welcoming.
