Indigo in Stockport

Came for a family meal, food and service were excellent, the only reason I gave 4 stars was because we felt very rushed from sitting down at 7pm to finishing the meal at 5 mins past 8pm certainly not the nice relaxed meal I expected even restaurant chains allow 2 hours to eat.

We had a takeaway from here and it was delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful when ordering and collecting.

Had a pre Christmas curry here when coming to visit family. Been a couple of times now and always have great curries at good prices. Can’t fault the curry or the staff. Parking can be cheap at the near by train station in Romiley

Fantastic food to eat in or take away

My first visit here was great. The food was really well presented, good quality and generous portions. The staff were friendly and efficient. Would recommend it and certainly ho again

Can’t recommend enough. Been a few times and have booked it for Xmas dinner! Food incredible, I always have the chef recommended dishes. service is efficient and friendly. So lucky to have this just down the road.

Food very nice but very harassed to order and it wasn’t even busy, food arrived then constantly harassed for drinks couldn’t relax

OWNER IS UNBELIEVABLY RUDE!!! I am a regular customer and have been for years. Cannot fault the food, or the waiters as they were lovely and made the effort to make sure we had a pleasant meal.However when it came to pay the bill the owner was outrageously rude!! There had been a miscommunication regarding a set meal deal, and we had been over charged drastically. There was no rudeness or anger from our side we just assumed it was an honest mistake. But the owner was rude from the get go. He was shouting at my boyfriends mum and pointing his finger in her face over the counter.I have never experienced such poor customer service in my life!! I will not be visiting again!

I have been to this place several times now, and every time, service is at great level. The tables are always clean as well as the whole place. The atmosphere is really good with nice music playing in the background and not too loud. Waiters are well dressed and polite. Food is always fantastic, prepared fresh and very tastefull. Definitely place to visit.

Helpful staff Great food BUT very noisy

We had a party of 24 people to celebrate my Dads 85th birthday (he loves this restaurant) and I’ve got to say, it was a fantastic experience. The food was utterly delicious. Everyone had something different and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. I personally had a Chicken Dhansak which is my go-to choice of main meal and so have had many over the years. The one I had in the Indigo was probably the best one I’ve ever had. Loads of tender chicken and the most beautiful tasting Dhansak sauce….not too spicy but hot and very, very tasty. The staff are incredibly attentive, helpful and polite to everyone in the restaurant and can’t do enough for you…..the levels of service are excellent and the restaurant was packed on Saturday night yet the staff were always available to tend to everybody in the place in the most professional way. Price wise, it’s excellent value for money, absolutely worth every penny. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. It’s a gem of a place and if you live in the Stockport area and love Indian food, you must go there….you won’t regret it. To the staff at the Indigo restaurant….thanks for making my Dads 85th so enjoyable and memorable for all of us.

I had the salmon masala curry with lemon rice and garlic Nan. As good as any curry I’ve eaten. Lovely vibe and service.

So expensive for just normal curry house..nothing special..but prices extortionate. .

Food is great and if you go on a Tuesday it's discounted. I have noticed on my last few visits that there's less chicken in the dishes I chose. Sign of the times I suppose.

Another wonderful meal at my favourite Bangladeshi restaurant- just perfect. Great food, lovely friendly staff- what's not to like? Be back soon. Probably later in the week. If not sooner.

We just went on the off chance today before going to the theatre to watch my grandchildren. no reservation but they fitted us in. The food was absolutely gorgeous. So tasty. Very pleasant staff. Quick service. Defo be going again.

We booked Indigo because we were going to the theatre nearby. The food tasted fresh and well cooked. Service was very good too. We were all pleasantly surprised at how nice the meals were. We’d definitely come again

Had a great meal at the Indigo with the Mrs last night, food was excellent, great staff, very friendly, couldn’t finish the meal, full. Food was packed into take away trays & we took it with us. highly recommended, not the 1st time i’ve been there & definitely won’t be the last :)

1st visit in many years:- Efficient & friendly Svcs, fresh food, really enjoyed. Particular attention to detail here, our waiter picked upon a few minor but major details, well done & it was noted, we'll be back consequently... Made your restaurant stand out. Deserved recognition 👏.

Regular here for the Tuesday night special. Place is always packed, which is a great sign.

Been here before and found it excellent. However I feel they must of overbooked. Messed up bills on the tables for drinks. Never checked if food was satisfactory. Large party but pushed the table to a booth seat. Sad to say I wouldn't return. I now visit the last Monsoon. Not as pricey and better service and quality.

Food was great. There's an amazing atmosphere, and lovely friendly staff. I would recommend it if you wanted to try Indian food for the first ever time.

This place has a long standing good reputation in the area and we've visited a few times over the years. Service is good and never had any problems. I didn't enjoy my meal this time, which was a dahl. It was overcooked and very tasteless. My family enjoyed their meals though. Place still needs bringing up to date decor wise. Very tatty and dated.

Excellent place to eat, service is flawless, the menu is large and varied. One point to take note of, Tuesday is a special offer night, however it's cash only! Seems a bit strange, other than that, would highly recommend.

Had a lovely meal last night with my family. Although the restaurant was really busy for eat in and takeaway the food and the service was absolutely spot on. I tried the Bangladeshi stir fry for the first time and it was amazing. Couldn't finish it as the portion was huge. Luckily I can finish it off for lunch today.😀 Well done guys and thank you.

I don't think they deliver, but it's worth collecting from as it's a very friendly, welcoming, nice place. I've ordered for pick up quite afew times and the food's ready not long after I arrive. This is a top Indian restaurant, I always order knowing the food will be top quality because they never let us down. It's always clean, it can get very busy during the bank holidays. There is parking at the back of Sainsbury's.

The food was lovely as aways,however the drinks which were ordered on arrival took a very long time to arrive and were reordered. The restaurant wasn't that busy on arrival,however soon filled up

Sometimes you just take things for granted, good food, happy staff, good service,pleasant atmosphere. We are so fortunate to have this excellent restaurant on our doorstep. I have not reviewed it for years, but feel I owe it to them. We don’t go every month, but are regular customers, and have been using it for over 15 years. I can honestly say we have never had a bad meal, even the takeaway service is up to restaurant standard. So really it’s just a well deserved “pat on the back” for them. Our favourite dish is the Rezala, spicy and creamy. If you plan to go on a Tuesday booking is advisable ,as they do a heavily discounted full menu (cash only), at around £13pp.

I've been dining at Indigo at least once every few months for well over a decade now and my family also brought me to Indigo from my early teens, so I'd like to think I've had enough time to give a brief but honest review. The food is excellent quality and ridiculously good value - you will not find such a wonderful restaurant with such high quality food for these prices anywhere else in Manchester. I've tried most of the menu throughout the years and none of it disappoints. The Chef recommendations are out of this world and the dozens of people I've shared a table with over the years have always been impressed with Indigo. The staff are incredibly welcoming and a joy to talk to; they always have us laughing. Charming and smiling fellows always ready to serve, you couldn't ask for more. The restaurant has had a visual overhaul over the years and it looks beautiful, the aesthetic and the music played is very relaxing even on busier days. One brief review is not enough to express my sincere gratitude for the staff there and how they have treated me and whoever I bring to Indigo over the years, but I'll be going there for many more years to come. Thank you to the team at Indigo!

Food was decent and good value! Just as a larger party a little disappointed with our service. Felt rushed between starter and mains but then long wait for our plates to be cleared after mains, then another long wait for our bill. Also feel it’s a little unsanitary to expect customers to eat their starter and main with the same cutlery (this was intentional as I had put my cutlery on the plate and it was removed and placed back on the table) especially when we could see the tables around us receiving fresh cutlery for their mains. As I say, it’s a good restaurant, perhaps the disappointment comes because we were a bigger party.

Disappointed, food was okay...a bit bland

Indigo Romiley was highly recommend to us by another family member. To celebrate my wife's birthday 5 of us reserved a table last Saturday evening. Firstly everyone gets a very warm welcome from the team. The choice, quality, presentation of the food and drinks were absolutely fantastic. We highly recommend this place and will definitely will revisiting indigo again soon.

The best Indian there is, my family have been going for over 20 years. Highly recommend the chicken chaat and the balti nawabi, but everything is brilliant! Highly recommend.

My best indian by far 10/10 and the service is brilliant cant wait for my next time there

I liked it! I had the mixed Naga with sag paneer and peshwari naan. The naan was fantastic and not too thick. The Naga was hot and served with two thin slices of Naga chilli (I think) on top, however it didn't have the rich taste of Naga chilli to me. I still enjoyed it. The restaurant was a pleasant place to be in and the staff were friendly and attentive. Recommended.

The food tastes good in my mouth hole. The staff are nice blokes. They do not take as many shekels in renumeration as they could. Final verdict: infinitely better than getting shanked in a Thai prison.

Had a few takeaways from the Indigo during lockdown and they were consistently good. Highly recommended.

I’ve been dining here for years (every couple of months or so ) and felt that I should review as I tend to take it for granted and felt I should recognise how much I appreciate that we have it :) We had family over from Wales on this occasion as is a safe bet as the food is always good, you know when you have that visit though when they really knock it outside of the park.. this was one of those times. Having visitors made us sit back and realise how good it actually is. Attentive staff, hugely polite but can have a chat with them and the food was lovely and fresh and very reasonable. I’m lucky to have this in my door step but if you don’t, I’d still recommend a visit :)

Fabulous food, super service and well priced.

I had to cancel my first booking due to isolating, the staff were fab on the phone and just rearranged for the week later. We had starters, mains and desserts. The starters and main meals were delicious. The staff were attentive and ensured my daughters meal was suitable as she has a nut allergy. We weren't keen on the malteser cheesecake but that was more preference then anything wrong. I would definitely recommend this place and will return. A firm favourite when our relatives from Canada visit.

Love Indigo: the food is delicious!

One of the best local Indian restaurants I have eaten in. My family and I ate here back in October, before the lockdown, and the food was absolutely delicious! The staff were really friendly too and kept bringing us drinks and joking with us as we ate our spicy vindaloos!

Take-away was excellent as always. Service and staff 5 star.

Staff are lovely, food is amazing. They are definitely worth ordering from, they dont deliver as of yet but do not let that put you off, go pick it up it is so so worth it.

I've been using this restaurant for years & years, mostly for take aways. I can't recommend it too highly. Fantastic food, extensive menu, reasonably priced, but above all, great staff. Very much highly recommended, hope you manage this Covid 19 successfully.

Eaten here many times and and our expectations have always been exceeded, food is exceptional and staff so friendly. Will have use their takeaway service now we're back in lockdown, at least their food will brighten our winter days!

Lovely curry the Madras what I normally have was abit to hot for me, I enjoyed the Thatcher's gold Cider in there

This restaurant is one of our favourites. We were introduced to it by long standing friends who are local regulars eating there. We always enjoy what we eat (Plenty of choice and reasonably priced) and have a good laugh with the friendly welcoming staff who look after us so well.Fantastic food always.
