Blue Nile Restaurant in Stockport

One of the best curry's I've had. I had a lamb jalfrezi, the sauce was perfect and the lamb was so tender and tasty. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly, professional, and helpful. No complaints here. Thank you 😊 🙏

GREAT FOOD, FRIENDLY ATMOSPHERE! The starters and mains were all delicious. We had Mix starter special, Chicken Chat, Lamb Saag and a Silsila which were absolutely delicious was made to perfection. The venue is very inviting and the staff are very friendly and efficient. Luckily got to meet the team, where all the magic takes place, leading by celebrity Chef Amir 🙂

We’ve been before several times and been happy with the food and experience, including banter with the waiters. Last night started well; warm welcome, choice of table, compliments, rapport stuff etc. Then the food arrived with the sauce dishes served in white pottery bowls (which I didn’t think about at the time) but I was shocked and the first thing I thought and said aloud was “this looks like it’s been in the microwave”. Sadly my friend was embarrassed and it dampened the evening quite a bit. The smart-looking waiter did something very interesting though. He didn’t confirm or deny the food had been microwaved but responded as if I was guilty of mortally offending him, thus adding a further layer of complexity to the already embarrassing situation and fogging the issue, My wife only ever uses the 100% power on our 900w microwave at home so I’m very familiar with those bubbly rims to the food which stick slightly to the bowl and that’s exactly what I saw presented to me. Recalling previous occasions at the Blue Nile, this was the first time we weren’t served in sizzling metal bowls. Well, you can’t put those in the microwave, can you? To salvage the evening I stirred and ate the meal. The chicken pieces were tender and I would say freshly cooked however the sauce, tasty as it might be, was much thicker than last time and certainly not as subtle or fresh in its flavouring as before. I think my friend and I are going to have to have a discussion about where we next eat out in Hazel Grove.

It really is the best curry around and never fails to impress with the service.

Went for Christmas food was poor quality considering the price you are paying.meat was very dry and sauce wasn’t great guys were nice. Had a great experience ones before and I recommend this to the group bad decision.

Just got back from the Blue Nile for a meal after not eating there for ages and I have to say it was absolutely fantastic. 5* from both of us, the food was superb (chicken Karahi and balti) and the service was absolutely top notch. Will not be leaving it so long to visit there again next time and can’t wait to return. Thanks again guys and see you soon, Will & Ling.

The food was excellent, service was below par as starters brought out whilst still eating poppadoms, all seemed a bit too rushed which was a shame. Some staff quite discourteous. Disappointed to say the least. Gone well downhill from the last few times eating here. As I said earlier it's a shame because it used to be really good, so now not recommended.

Amazing Indian menu. My wife was very impressed with her Biryani and I opted for a hot Bengali dish. And was equally pleased. Portion size was generous with us taking home what we couldn't eat that was neatly pack for us to transport home. Staff very friendly and helpful.

went here for evening meal looked ok from outside, so we thought ok lets try it, firstly we looked through the menu thought was really pricey but thought hey ho lets try, we ordered shami kebabs which was not too bad , then we had lamb madras with pilau rice firstly the the lamb was tough the madras sauce was an absolute disgrace was like eating tomato puree someone needs to teach the chef too cook a proper madras sauce and also the pilau rice was just normal basmati rice with a few bits of rice dyed with red food colouring, ive been a chef for many years and they dare say they serve a madras sauce is a joke all it was is a spicy tomato sauce, please employ a proper chef who can cook authentic sauces and rice

Spent £73. Food was ok but not the best. popperdoms missing.spoke to the owners.they said I can't have a refund for missing items. They did delivery missing 45 minutes after.

Don’t rate this place one bit , went for a family meal and we are all poorly one family member has really bad food poisoning , when rang up to tell them they was very rude on the phone I will be reporting to food hygiene

Best Bangladesh restaurant I have had the pleasure of frequenting for the past 20+ years, never had a bad meal and would fully recommend.

Unforgettable Bengali meals, Some are spicy and some are not. The staple food is rice and pancakes.

Held a birthday party here last week for >20 people, and it was utterly fabulous. We had 6 different starter and 10 different main courses. Every single one was perfect. Nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend to anyone, as this is certainly the best Bangladeshi food I have tasted

Always excellent in every category

I was very dissappointed with the blue nile. The delivery guy was far too busy on his mobile to even have manners about his delivery. All we could taste in both the madras and the rogan josh we ordererd was shed loads of tomato puree. It tasted more Italian than Indian. Considering it is a good 25% more expensive than most others, it is certainly not worth it. Dont get me wrong it wasnt terrible, but not that great and certainly not worth the money. The Lime lounge up thde road is WAY superior and cheaper.

What an amazing experience from start to finish, we ordered the South Indian garlic along with special mix briyane with the naga curry sauce which was on fire. Absolutely loved it, so much spice and bursting with flavours. The service was spot on from Naeem and Fahim. Gave us great hospitality, definitely will be visiting again soon. Thank you very much.

I visited blue nile with my wife and little one, the food was the best I have had in years. The service was quick and very friendly 5 out of 5 from me and the Mrs.

Called in for the first time late on Saturday evening, they were near to closing but were so welcoming. I’ve been past Blue Nile literally hundreds of times, it’s always looked great but for some reason unknown to me, I’ve never eaten there before. The staff were fantastic, so friendly and accommodating, but the food was on another level entirely! I can honestly say this is the best Indian meal I’ve had in a very long time, fresh, beautifully cooked and tasted superb. I can’t recommend Blue Nile highly enough and I’ll definitely be returning very soon, it has become without doubt my ‘Go To’ Indian restaraunt. Just brilliant!

We ordered a take away this evening which included 3 Pilau Rice. We sat down to enjoy our starter without checking the rest of the bag with the food in. When we went to dish out the main course we discovered that instead of sending 3 Pilau they had sent 1 boiled rice. We phoned to let them know then I set off back to the restaurant to swap the rice. I fully expected an apology and the correct rice to be waiting for me. Instead I was met with an awful sarcastic attitude from the young lad behind the counter who said it wasn’t his mistake because he read the order back to us over the phone (he didn’t) I wasn’t looking to complain however he said we would now need to pay for the extra rice. I explained that they should be honouring it as it was their mistake. He said it wasn’t their mistake (so how do you explain the boiled rice 🤷‍♀️) and that he wasn’t bothered I was unhappy with the service. I didn’t have a chance to process the awful customer service because I was so shocked by it so I just paid the money (I really shouldn’t have) I left quickly because I was so angry at the way I was being spoken to and on my way out of the door he said in a sarcastic mimicking voice “see ya”. Omg I have never been spoken to so rudely and will never return. My husband eats there with 10/20 of his work colleagues regularly so hopefully it won’t be just our business they will miss out on in future. Really poor service and I’m really shocked because I have always really enjoyed their banter and friendly service in the past and it was our favourite place for a curry. Such a shame he is allowed to do this. .

Had been looking forward to visiting as I'd heard good things. The lamb tikka starter was sinuous and not very nice. Chicken Tikka Madras main tasted mostly of tomato puree and the sauce was much too thick. To the restaurant's credit, they noticed that I'd set the meal aside and offered me a replacement, but I'm not going to be coming back.

Came here with my partner and daughter and instantly felt welcomed as soon as we walked through the door! The food was absolutely amazing! I was told by a friend how good the food was and I’m glad I took his recommendation on! We will definitely be back again! All the staff were lovely too!

Gorgeous meal! I had a take away from Just Eat and I didn't realise it was a restaurant until it arrived. The driver was smartly dressed and he had a big smile and a lovely greeting for me. The food was amazing! You could taste the freshness of the food with each bite. I had to Google them because I thought 'this can't be a typical high street takeaway' I wasn't surprised to see it was a restaurant and next time I'll take a trip up there and eat in. The price of the meal was surprisingly and refreshingly low for a restaurant and the for the quality of the food! A big thumbs up from me to the chefs and also for the delivery driver. Over all it was a 10/10 experience. Thank you Blue Nile.

Been looking forward to eating here for so long, such is the hype surrounding this place. Never been so disappointed! Had a mixed fish starter, fish was so dry, I may as well have been eating an old boot, followed this with a tandoori mixed grill, again tough as old boots, not sure if they were struggling with a busy New Years Eve and I was unlucky or if this is the norm, certainly not worth £70!!!

We were a group of five. I had not eaten here before but was impressed. The staff were friendly and the service efficient. We were offered the menus but were not harassed to place orders. The portions were very generous none of the group had anything but praise for the food. I would defiantly go back in the future.

Never disappointed, top stuff every time

This was a random pick on our way home. It was a good choice. There is ample public parking behind he estaurnat and a rear entrance as well. decor and ambience are great - modern and fresh - and very clean. Our meals were great: my partner had a 'Josserie', which was new to us ... a chicken tikka curry with a breamy, thinck sauce and a lot of coconut. She really enjoued it. I chose a lamb tikka jalfrezi - great sauce again, although the lamb was a little tough. Our sides of sag aloo and a muchroom bhaji were really good, Prices reasonable, and would certainly go back.

Lovely atmosphere and place, it had really nice lighting and decorations.The place was very clean and organised. Great place overall. Great costumer service, the staff were very polite and friendly. They also checked on us whilst eating, not in an overbearing way but rather as a nice gesture. Overall we had a great experience and the food was really good. Would definitely come again.

Just love the Blue Nile, take away or dining in the food is always gorgeous. Wonderful friendly service every time. No wonder they have been here all this time. Superb.

Just eaten at the Blue Nile, all I can say is WOW! Easily the best Indian restaurant I have eaten in (and I have eaten in plenty!). The service in this restaurant is absolutely unbelievable, nothing is too much trouble. My mother in laws Karahi was slightly to hot for her taste (she has never eaten spicy food) and the waiters cooled it down in the kitchen 3 times so she could eat it, and she absolutely loved it! And then they put all our left over food into containers so we could enjoy it tomorrow! Cannot wait to come back. Thanks to all of the staff who made it a night to remember! 🙏🏻

I liked everything except the food itself, even 'medium' dishes are far too hot for my tastes, my family seemed to enjoy it though, but it was simply too hot for me, last time I went was in 2013 and it was exactly the same, I would not go back personally or recommend it.The food was giving me stomach cramps and I felt bloated afterwards due to the extreme heat on my 'medium' dish.I also felt like the heat was trying to hide the lack of flavour..However the service and decor was good and no issues with hygene just not a fan of the food sadly, compared to the main alternative in poynton there is no comparison.

Good food, fun staff, UPDATE, must be a new chef, food now very average, marinated foods watery like marinated 2 mins b4 being cooked, nothing is as it was, look elsewhere is my advice, BRING BACK THE GOOD CHEF!!!

Ordered a Lamb Rogan Josh. All of the basic ingredients were there, meat, onions, tomato etc, and the heat was right so I'm guessing the chilli powder went in OK. But that was it, no taste to it at all, it was like someone had forgotten to put any of the spices in it. Im not overly picky about my food and am easily pleased. But this was a massive disappointment. Could be it was a random 'accident' and someone just forgot to add all the ingredients. My daughter tried some of the sauce and commented it was like watery soup. The other dishes we ordered were OK.

I had a great birthday takeaway from Blue Nile, living up to its usual high quality. The Balti Methi Gosht is an amazing curry and always tastes great. I’m looking forward to going out for a meal there again in the future.
