Indigo in Leicester

We to the new Indigo’s but honestly should not have bothered. The platters were not served on platters but in little bowls! They did not have any beers as advertised. No jeera for the jeera rice. On top of that the food we good was too spicy and not edible. A very very poor experience in indeed

Attended on a weekday evening. Seated at a table in their downstairs area that looked shabby, surrounded by packaging boxes. Service overall is curt and inattentive - had to get up from table to speak to manager at their reception desk twice to gain their attention - food standard is inconsistent and taste overall is a shadow of its former hey day. It is disappointing to see this once laudable dining institution diminish to a poor standard and there is a palpable lack of pride in their service and the restaurant itself. The owners and management need to seriously reflect on how they have allowed Indigo to diminish. Best avoided for the foreseeable future

We haf a group of 22 elderly people. Dipika and Om were very accommodating, helpful and pleasant. Thank you Indigos.

Restaurant Review: Disappointing Experience** I recently dined at Indigo Leicester and, unfortunately, it was a thoroughly disappointing experience. From start to finish, the service was abysmal. The staff appeared disinterested and inattentive, taking an excessive amount of time to acknowledge our presence, let alone take our order. When our server finally arrived, they were brusque and unwelcoming, making us feel like an inconvenience rather than valued customers. To make matters worse, the cleanliness of the establishment was shockingly poor. The plates and glasses brought to our table were visibly dirty, with food remnants and water spots that should never have made it past the kitchen. This raised immediate concerns about the overall hygiene of the restaurant, and quite frankly, it was unacceptable. Also was put on table that was broken, serious health and issues. As for the food, it failed to redeem the experience in any way. The dishes were poorly prepared, with overcooked meats and under-seasoned sides that lacked any real flavor or care in their preparation. What should have been a highlight of our meal ended up being the final disappointment in an evening that fell well short of expectations. In summary, Indigo Leicester needs to seriously address its service, cleanliness, and food quality if it hopes to retain customers. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this restaurant and will not be returning

My friend and I visited yesterday and the food came out super quick, which is always a red flag. The chilli chips I ordered were cold, obviously they had shoved them in the microwave and served a small portion at over £4.50. At a restaurant, food should be freshly made to order....I would have got a better deal at Hot Potato Shop as they prepare it in front of you. In times of high competition and social media, fresh quality food should be your priority. The chilli chips were exchanged with a bigger portion and piping hot, but I should not have to complain to be server fresh food. The staff were absolutely lovely.

We are regulars here and the food is always amazing! Our favourites are the indigo special pizza, chilli paneer, crispy bhajia and karahi paneer. Service can be slower at busy times but the staff are friendly and helpful.

I recently visited Indigo with my friends and family, and unfortunately, our experience was far from satisfactory. We encountered numerous issues with the service, which left us quite disappointed. Service and Wait Time: From the moment we arrived, the service was slow. It took a considerable amount of time before anyone came to take our order. After finally placing our order for drinks, it took over 20 minutes for them to be served. This was frustrating, especially since we were a large group and expected more prompt service. Food Delays and Missing Items: The delays didn't end with the drinks. Our food order took over 30 minutes to arrive, and even then, some items were missing. This added to our disappointment as we had to wait even longer for the missing dishes, which disrupted our meal. Lack of Basic Dining Essentials: To make matters worse, when the plates were finally brought to our table, we weren't given any cutlery or serviettes. A few were provided later, but not enough for the entire family. This was a basic oversight that further soured our dining experience. Staffing Issues: Throughout our time at Indigo, it was clear that the staff were extremely busy and overwhelmed. We were informed that there was only one person working behind the bar, which likely contributed to the slow service. When we raised our concerns with the owner, instead of addressing the issues, he blamed the staff. I pointed out that it is the owner's responsibility to ensure the establishment runs smoothly and that the staff should not be held accountable for management shortcomings. Conclusion: Overall, our experience at Indigo was disappointing. The slow service, delays in receiving food, lack of basic dining essentials, and poor management left much to be desired. I hope that the management takes these issues seriously and makes the necessary improvements to ensure a better experience for future customers

Service, dinning experience & food quality gone down! We have been using indigos for 24 years! Over the last year or so we have been questioning if we should be still visiting, unfortunately, my daughter just loves the recipes. It seems the owners find every way they can to make money, prices go up and have introduced an eat in charge (although labelled incorrectly on bill as ‘service charge’), despite eat in charges being for take away places not restaurants legally? But yet never seems invest in providing a good quality service to their customers by training staff properly (as the staff give attitude or no service at all), ensuring comfort or updating decor inc tables and chairs - nothing seems to change except for having to pay more than the previous visit.

ZERO STAR I had a takeaway from here this week and the food was absolutely terrible. No taste, not cooked properly, full of potatoes only - no vegetables, not garnished or supplied with things that should come with such as onions, slice of lemon etc. Not only this but it gave me horrible stomach pains. You will go to hell for feeding such awful food to your customers. Imagine children and pregnant woman eating this type of food and getting ill? The owner of this restaurant would you eat this? Anyways never again having this or recommending it to anyone. Good bye indigo you won’t be missed !

No open picking up for takeaway and could not do order online as request not taken.

Overpriced and if you say anything about the food they argue with you chefs keep changing on ordered dishes when delivered. I ordered aubergine 4 weeks ago and they didn’t even put the peppers or onions or the mix in they forgot and was sent dry burnt sticks of aubergine absolute disgrace!!! Been going here and ordering for over 15 years Never again service gone downhill and prices hitting the roof also cocky attitudes when complain This place needs to close or fire the chefs and new management

I ordered a delivery from Uber Eats on 22 July for Chilli Paneer, Hakka Noodles, Dahi Puri and Samosa chaat. Unfortunately, the whole family ate it and we’ve had food poisoning since then. There was a slight sour smell coming from everything and we just thought it that maybe it was the masala. It in fact was gone off. Complained to Uber Eats but I am still to hear from the restaurant. Not acceptable guys.

I don't feel like to give even 1 star. We order dosa ans sambar was to sweet don't test like a shambhar we complain about it to the managaer sid he was not apologize to us and he said to us like we Surv this sambhar last 25 years we can't do change on it and Sawing us attitude don't feel sorry at all. And in the shambhar there is no vegetables as well . Another customer have same complain as well. They said to as sambhar is not test like sambhar and dosa masala was like Potato and tomato curry don't test like masala dosa . We both r given them review as feedback but managet dont want to listen us and don't say sorry. Such a bad Expedience. We never go again in this restaurant. Manager need to improve customer service. He don't know how to talk to the customer. Manager SID need more training about how to talk to the customer. I would like to say Awful experience.🤮🤮

We had a big family event at the end of June and arranged for their most expensive party menu “eat as much as you like”. The food and generally service was good but we had some food left over on our tables, which we’d paid for as part of the deal, so requested that we’d like to take the leftovers back home with us in our own containers. We were told we can’t do that as it’s their policy not to allow that. We would’ve understood the situation had it been the case of us going for their open buffet and then asking to do that but this was something that we’d paid for and the most upsetting part was that when we asked what they’re goi g to do with that food we were told it’ll be thrown away. How can this be justifiable when we’re all trying to save the environment and more importantly when there are thousands of people who are struggling to feed themselves on day to day basis? Shame on you Indigo. You need to rethink your policies. On this basis whether I’d take another party there remains questionable.

While food is good and service is decent. This place really needs a facelift. Went with family, seats are so dirty had to ask staff to clean it and then even request to be moved to another tabel. Visited on Saturday at about 1pm.

Although I got a takeaway from here the last time, I could tell the ambience of eating inside. The service is terrible, and the food quality is not the same anymore. Bear in mind, I've been using this place for almost 25 years, so I can professionally say... it's time for them to either close their doors for good or, re-brand.

Old dry stale aubergine absolutely despicable maybe the chef was angry at owner so dry not usual garlicky or much peppers just burnt fry stale Wow is this what we get when we take away also paneer was crap But aubergine is a disgrace !!!!! I went to indigo bullring with my family ordered some food the food was very average for a drink I had the lemon drink because the woman said it was very nice and they add salt to the lemon drink as I was drinking it I kept tasting a strange taste like stale water like water that has gone bad I kept thinking it must be the salt so I left it and did not drink it few hours later had the worst stomach cramp diearea feeling sick I would not recommend this place seriously

Went for father's day lunch, very tasty food. Good service considering how busy they were.

We had dinner. The atmosphere was amazing. It feels like a home. Drasti was amazing. Helping us with the food choices and drinks. We have been well looked after.

The food was flavourless and had no taste the Munchurian,Noodles had no level of spice what so ever.The Dhosas were bland and tastless.Not happy

We were sat outside but kids had plenty of room to run around. Jaimin looked after us very well.

This a great place for variety of the menu.. If you fancy Indian and can’t decide there is North Indian South Indian Indian Chinese indo Italian and great menu for the kids.. Pocket friendly too!! Highly recommended✨🤩

Food was okay but the pizza was burnt, they said it was stone baked, they took it back and gave us a new one. On the bill was a service charge which isn't necessary to pay and when we asked, they told us it was a 'eating in' charge, which is misleading and we had to pay.

Maitri has been looking after our family for a long time, and we are regulars at this wonderful restaurant. Once again, the food was served promptly and with the same delightful taste as always. There was a minor incident with the crispy aubergine dish—we wanted it crispier—and the staff promptly accommodated our request. It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening meal with the family. Thank you, Maitri, for the wonderful memories and consistent excellent service.

First time visited Indigo with family. Food was cold and no quality control. Highly disappointed.

Had a birthday meal booked at this restaurant, the vegetarian selection is great and the food without a doubt is delicious. Good selection starter, mains and desserts. The service was also to a great standard but at times felt like we were waiting a while between meals but drinks to come. The only thing which lets this restaurant down is the restaurant interiors itself, very back dated and feel like no money spent on the building or inside and feels a little tacky. Toilets needs a refurbishment as very unclean and outdated too.

Visited after few years. Disappointed with the quality and taste of the food particularly the south Indian dish and Indo Chinese starters. Also the waiting Staff had to be called twice before they took our order. Some of the food items served were cold as if taken straight out from the fridge. Feedback shared with the management.

We had a very lovely time at indigo restaurant as we organize the party with friends which we meet after 45years but i never thought it would be this amazing organize by indigo we really enjoy the food and service by them, specially maitry who looked after us very well and helped out us very nicely.

The amount of vegs on the pizza was minimal. The waitress, Drasti, was excellent as she kept on coming to inquire if we we enjoying our visit.

We visited indigos last Sunday.we were waiting a long long time for someone at the table. Two girls were roaming there without giving us a look.suddenly a gentleman ran to us from the drinks section and apologized for our long wait. He gave us menu with a gentle smile and took our orders on time and delivered the food as well. Still we are confused about the other staff who are simply roaming through there. One of the best Indian and indo-chinese food in Leicester

Ordered usual, chilli paneer, with an extra side. The oaneer was seriously undercooked, squeeky. It taste of garlic paste, really steongly, not fresh garlic nor any other flavour. Truly a disappointment for the price. Sadly, since i have been a customer for over a decade.. I think this is the last time i will eat from here. Competitor is cheaper, and privides better food more consistently.

I went for my daughters 18th birthday. The staff were amazing and a huge thanks to Abhishek who helped me organise everything necessary to make my daughter the happiest. The food was incredible - best in Leicester. My daughter loved the Chilli Paneer and Aubergine, and there was something for the whole family. We will all be back very soon.

We visited Indigo for the first time in the last week. I would like to thank Vishnu for giving a few Ferraro chocolates for my kid who was crying because of the delayed food delivery.that kind effort from him stopped my kid from crying and he also ensured immediate delivery of my kid's food. Over priced menu compared to others. You expect people to come to the restaurant then charge a 10% service fee!!!! That's just shocking. I've been to so many other places and what you see on the menu is what you're charged. Not some 10% service charge. Where do you expect us to eat. Outside? I am never returning here again. Well after year and half,I went to Indigo,Leicester for buffet lunch,very disappointed with poor presentation of the food,most of the food not even hot this was about 1.15 pm,even me and my wife decide to have a go,we sat on table 42,collect the food start eating the food to be honest very poor quality tastewise,then thought wish I gone to 4 seasons not far from Indigo,but worst scenario when I went to pay ,because is Bank Holiday is £6.99 pp and 1 paint salted lassi came to £20.Normaly £5pp.In overall not happy I do not recommend anyone,not just that place needs complete refurbishment top to bottom, especially toilets need upgrade big time .

There lunchtime buffet @£4.99 is not bad

This was the first time that I had been to Indigo and it will not be the last. All the staff were very welcoming and the restaurant was clean and well presented. I would particularly like to mention Manshi who was lovely. She was very attentive, friendly, very smiley and an excellent advert for the restaurant. Deepaka was also a very attentive and friendly lady who served us. The food is an eclectic mix of Indian, Chinese and Italian dishes. We chose several Indian dishes and without exception they were superb. The food was very tasty and the portions generous. I had never been to a vegetarian Indian restaurant before and was unsure what to expect. I was delighted with the choice available and every dish was enjoyed by our party. Apart from three of us in our group all the customers were Indian which is a very good indicator that the food is good. The beer was served in bottles and was very reasonable, much cheaper than is served in other restaurants. The bill for our whole party was very, very reasonable and we were all delighted with our whole experience. We couldn't eat all our food so we were given cartons to take the remainder home. I live over an hours drive away from Indigo but I am already planning my next visit as it is well worth the drive to enjoy the food and welcome from the staff. Please visit the Indigo. You will not be disappointed.

I have to admit it's been many years since I've come here. Decided to bring my elderly mum here for Holi dinner. Not a great start because we were kept waiting and forgotten about despite having booked whilst they cleaned table. And no menus given at table. Manshi provided fantastic customer service before, during and after dining. She was personable, patient and gave some recommendations. Food was tasty and came in a timely manner. We had the sweetcorn soup, dahi puri, aubergine stirfry, dal palak with fresh garam rotli. Prices have gone up. Recommend!

Overall the staff were polite. The beers are not on draft so they should put a sign up. All beers were in a can, therefore they need to reduce the price plus the beers are not served in proper glasses? As for the food, bhaji were good, aubergine and paneer nice. The noodle dishes they serve are fine noodles and you can barely see any vegetables. They need to put in proper veg and not just cut up the tiniest bit of veg. For the price of £7.50-£8.00 it's not worth the price. Soft drinks are overpriced for a place like this. Overall, considering it's a basic restaurant, no proper deco, the place needs a good refurbishment. Considering, it's busy so they can invest in the restaurant especially on the quality of their food. Little improvement goes a long way.

I gave it five stars based on my only 23 visits,never read the comments and was hoping to visit again this weekend when I come to Leicester. Not sure if I should read comments again.. I personally had a good dinner but I'm not a regular there but some of my Leicester friends do Rate the place.. Do people have very high expectations these days ?? I mean the venue is nice but it's not in am exclusive place,not that I know what the area is like but it's placed in a very random area. Not to familiar with the area,but the food and service should count for more.. Maybe in London we don't have these kind of places,to be fair Regency has lat me down to recently..Will come back again soon..

Takeaway - reheated food We ordered a takeaway around £35 chips taste stale like they had been reheated, the aubergine stir fry had no flavour. I think for a regular indigo customer they lost their standards and the portion sizes have halved with prices gone up. I understand cost of ingredients have gone up but halving all the portion sizes of your items is awful. More veggies than actual paneer in the shahi paneer too. Let down! Never again

What a brilliant place to eat! If you visit, you must have the aubergines and the chilly paneer! Haka noodles are also to die for, not to mention the bahjias (fried potatoes)!!! I just can get enough of their food! I’m a big meet eater but this place could turn me into a vegetarian any day! If you haven’t been, give it a try! If you are not sure about a dish, the staff will help you out! Drasti looked after us brilliantly and helped us with our takeaway order as well! Yes, we brought food home for the rest of the family! We will be back!

Afternoon buffet is very good and Tasty.

Menu price is misleading as it's NOT the actual price you pay. They add service charge on top of it, which should've been mentioned beforehand. In all other restaurants, price printed on the menu is the precise price you pay. Food wasn't fresh & mostly processed. If I wanted processed food, I'd have ordered it online than be in a restaurant. Lot more better, tastier & healthier options in Leicester now & Indigo doesn't have a monopoly over quality dining out anymore, as was the case in 1999 when they first started the restaurant.

A group of friends went to this restaurant for buffet lunch as the theme of the day was South Indian which offered half a dozen of South Indian dishes. We all has a very good time because the food was very tasty and authentic. I...

Amazing food but it's a restaurant I have been going to for over 25 years and it's not the same feeling as it use to be. The Food is nice but the service is slow and the prices are very high your looking at an average £15 to £20pp for a decent starter and main course. £3.20 for a glass of coke. The food portions are a lot less than what it use to be a lot of elements in this restaurant have gone downhill. It's sad to see what once was a very popular restaurant gone down like this. Yes it a business at the end of the day it needs to make money but they need to look after their loyal customers if they want repeat business.

Love the food here but a few things let it down so I won't be coming back. Management is really poor. A waitress spilt a milkshake on me and still charged it to our bill. Even when we tried to get it taken off the bill, they didn't want to do it until we said we are not paying. Service charges are a rip as well. It's a shame as the food is really nice

We visited indigos Thursday lunch time and we placed order for chilli paneer and crispy aurbajin apart from that we were looking for some cocktails.there is nothing we were able to find from the menu.we asked to the waiter boy about it he said no worries he is able to make some special coktail for us.he gave us pina colada with rum splash and blueberry with vodka splash.it was really nice and I like to appreciate the way he sold those drinks.dont know your name brother, but thanks.

Indigos is one of my favorite restaurants, I decided to go for a weekday buffet and it was my favourite pasta and pizza on the menu, the place was packed and heaving, everyone was queuing for the buffet food, no one checked to ask if we needed drinks or water, the food was tasteless and absolutely bland, it was like cattle farm, seems like it's all about making money and packing the place up, glad i went its put me right off will not be going again.

Good vegetarian food and great service

Well, the food was horrible. I left 3 star because of the staff were trying to provide the good service. Well, I was there for good food not only the service. When I was there and heard that they serve pre cooked naan bread. I was shocked. 🤯 They do not any drink with ice because they do not keep ice cubes. Seriously, is it a restaurant or you guys sale precooked dishes , which I can find in any supermarkets. Felt sorry for the staff who work there.

Had Buffet at Infigo after the funeral . Excellent service ,delicious food and very good service . Manager and staff provided very good service. Altogether we were 55 people for meal.
