Chat Wala chats are the best in Leicester. It's also worth the money . Service is good too.

After along time had my favourite on the menu “vadapav”which was my grab and go snack. However, I was disappointed with the service and the quality presentation of the food and packing. as it was served lukewarm and lacked the flavour, not wrapped in a foil which you used to do, I was expecting it would be same but I understand prices are gone sky but still need be satisfied for what I’m paying. hope my experience was just an off day, and I’d be willing to give it another try in the future. Thank you.

We went here for lunch for my friend’s birthday on the 20th because we heard about the new buffet. We were very disappointed, the buffet station was not working, all the food was cold so the waiter said he will do table service. We asked about the menu but were told it’s all on insta. 🤷🏼‍♀️ The food came in bits & we weren’t sure wot we were getting. They asked for payment upfront so we couldn’t order from the normal menu. We ordered lassi but had to remind them when it didn’t come. I don’t think I will bother going back ever again,

Una experiencia decepcionante Recientemente cené en chatwala y me fui sintiéndome bastante insatisfecha. Desde el principio, el servicio fue deficiente; no nos recibieron adecuadamente y ni siquiera nos dijeron que tomáramos asiento. Para empeorar las cosas, nuestra mesa tenía tenedores sucios y sin lavar, lo que era bastante desagradable. Si bien el menú de comida parecía prometedor, la realidad era una completa decepción. Cuando llegó la comida, los fideos estaban sosos y sabían como si simplemente hubieran sido recalentados. Las bhajias crujientes estaban viciadas y carecían de sabor real, servidas con un chutney que no sabía a nada más que a tomates mezclados. El Manchuria era aún peor, sabía como si hubiera sido cocinado en ketchup de tomate en lugar de cualquier salsa auténtica. El panel era totalmente insípido, por lo que es una comida decepcionante en general. Dadas las críticas brillantes que había escuchado antes de visitar, esta experiencia fue increíblemente decepcionante. Basado en mi visita, no puedo recomendar chatwala y no volveré.

Brilliant food. Friendly owner. Parking is a problem, but once you get in and start enjoying the food, you forget the parking issue!!!

The waiter on today’s duty didn't even wash hands! That is the worst thing i ever saw in my eyes. He was sweeping the floors especially right next to us. We were eating peacefully and he was sweeping next to us. Imagine how unhygienic that is! And after that he handed us the food without even washing hands! Terribly not approved 👎

We went out for a quick meal and the service was excellent. The staff were very polite and helpful. The food was served fresh hot and very tasty. Despite a very rude customer in the booth near us, the staff remained calm and unnecessarily apologetic. I would absolutely go back again, I just hope I don't see that family there again. Keep up the great work. 😁

We visited Chat wala this evening. Food were very delicious especially crispy aubergine, special alloo tikki chat. All Staff were very polite and well-mannered. Service was very fast. Staff Harpreet and Rashan were the best in dealing with customers.

My kids love Chaatwala and some of the items are their favourite. it is also very convenient to us due to its location. I must admit we have experienced change in the taste and portions ( i.e.special chaat & chilly paneer) in last few months. The chef has changed or the management whatever the reason but it’s not the same anymore and people who have had the food from the beginning must have noticed that. After reading some reviews I realise it’s not only myself but many has experienced the change.

I came for take away order. One lady said it’s take 10 minutes. I was wait 45 minutes. Very nice service 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Very bad experience at this place. The service was very poor. The staff did not know how to deal with customers. I waited 20 minutes to place my order and another 20 minutes after receiving the starter. I asked twice when my order would arrive; each time I was told two minutes, but nothing came. I left without eating. The customer service was really poor; I will not return.

My eating experience at Chatwala was fantastic! The food was great. The Veg Manchurian was rich and filling, the Fry Momos were crunchy and tasty, and the Chilli Paneer was expertly seasoned. Kabir, Simran, and Jaspreet deserve special recognition for their outstanding service; they were kind, considerate, and made us feel very welcome. Chef Sajan deserves praise for creating such delectable food. Anyone who enjoys delicious meals and top-notch service should definitely check out this business.👍👍

I recently visited Chatwala and was thoroughly impressed by the excellent service provided by their employees, Kabir, Simran, and Jaspreet. The food was absolutely amazing, especially the momos and chilli paneer, which were so flavorful that I couldn’t resist asking about the chef. We ordered takeaway and the mogo was so hard to eat definitely not cooked properly. Moreover when we called them rather than accepting the critique they argued with me. Very bad customer service. They have lost me as a customer for sure!

I visited chaatwala with my friend today upon her recommendation. We were quickly seated, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was nice. The menu is all vegetarian and has a variety of Indian street food. I ordered sev poori masala dosa and chat papri . I must say everything I tried was absolutely delicious. Cleanliness is very good.

If they’re busy avoid. Took 1 hour and 30 minutes between ordering and the food being ready. Poor communication from the staff and multiple tables left dirty with plates festering.

I’m actually coming here every weekend and the food and service both are literally marvellous. The workers are giving their best all the time to the service users. (Jaspreet Kaur) always gave her best service to us and she is very friendly.

Great food, the saag and daal Makhani was really tasty and authentic. Chef saajan - wow super tasty food. Simrans service was great too she was very helpful. They accommodated without onion and garlic really well too. Highly recommend.

I have been a regular customer for 3 years, took many friends, and used to order Samosas every year on Diwali for all my team. But today, after waiting for more than 40 minutes for a Panner Biryani takeaway, I ended up having no lunch for the day as these guys can't prioritise customers. I had to leave the order as these guys can't do their job in time, and I'm responsible for reporting back at my desk on time.

Food portions are so small, extremely salty and there is too much oil. The food also has artificial colouring. Their excuse for poor-quality food is that they're busy.

Mixed Experiences at CHATWALA I've visited CHATWALA 5-6 times, hoping for consistent quality, but found myself disappointed more often than not. Food Quality: Dosa: Good once, lackluster other times. Mojito: Just alright. Chhole Bhature: Great once, inconsistent thereafter. Papdi Chat & Aloo Chat: Consistently good. Pav Bhaji: Worst every time—cold and tasteless. Dahi ka Dariya: Good on two occasions. Manchau Soup: Subpar taste and small portion. Vada Pav: Consistently poor quality. Service: When issues were raised with the staff, they often dismissed complaints, insisting their food was fine. Their reluctance to address specific concerns was frustrating. During busy times, small orders and extras were neglected, highlighting a lack of customer care. Notable Incident: On Diwali, I requested extra items, but the staff outright refused, citing their busy schedule. Waiting 15 minutes for extra pav, only to eat it with cold bhaji, was unacceptable. Conclusion: If you don't mind spending extra money and aren't concerned about consistent food quality or service, you might find some enjoyment here. However, for me, CHATWALA's overall performance was largely disappointing.

I went to the branch on Gipsy Lane today. The front of house staff were lovely and polite. The food was nicely flavoured but not hot. When I went to pay a manager came out and began having a go at one of the front of house staff and told him to use his brain. The manager was rude and completely ignored the fact that I was standing there. It ruined my whole experience and made me feel very uncomfortable. The member of staff remained professional and continued serving me.

Horrible experiencia gastada más de £ 75 para una comida para llevar de cumpleaños familiar pidiendo varios artículos. Cuando les preguntamos si podrían haberlos etiquetado, el tipo dice que deberíamos haberles avisado cuando pedimos. ¡Qué broma! ¿No deberían estar etiquetados en lugar de dos bolsas grandes llenas de cajas marrones? La comida era pobre, los Bhajiya crujientes eran duros como la roca, los salteados de berenjenas eran un desastre absoluto y los chips de chile se estropeaban con el horrible color rojo brillante. Preferiría ir a la competencia más adelante. Paneer era pobre y Pau bhaji insípido. No recomiendo este lugar en absoluto, muchos lugares mejores. AVOID

The menu is all vegetarian and has a variety of Indian street food. I ordered dahi puri, bombay sandwich, mix platter, and cholesterol bhatture. I must say everything I tried was absolutely delicious. We finished our lunch with the karak chai and it was very well made as well. There was only a small issue, which is parking, but I would highly recommend this place!!!

We Waited for 30 minute for order chole bhature and when we ask them then they ask for wait 10 minutes, and chola was very Taste less and we are very disappointed with the service.I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I got a hair in my food and the one of the staff was rude to us I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

The below was before, now it feels different, tastes different and not in a good way and the portions are a bit of a joke... A big downgrade from our go to, to a "maybe" place to eat. We have enjoyed this restaurant a few times. We enjoy spicy food and sometimes hot isn't spicy enough for us however they are more than willing to make things right. The food is very good and everything tastes fresh, down to the sides and chutneys. Service was quick, we placed our order fairly quickly and it wasn't too long before the food came out. This place can become busy very quickly but you can almost always get a table. You can also book in advance. This is certainly one of the better restaurants in Leicester and well worth a visit or few.

We have just visited Chatwala. We were served by simranjit and her colleagues. The service was excellent, food was good, we ordered Masala Dosas, Chilli Paneer, chips and tea. The environment and ambience was pleasant and this establishment was clean too. I visited with my son and mum who has mobility difficulties. I was able to find parking very close by with able facilities for her to use. All in all very happy. Thank you ☺️

The customer service is not the same as the one and the staff gives the same answer to the staff and as I said, they do not make the same food and the other one is the same and what the customer says is rude behavior. Karavati also has to think about the time ahead!

I oder Masala chips with cheese and I also have oder Masala dosa. I do not like Masala chips with cheese because it was too oily and dose not have much of test. We ordered pani puri and papri chat. Pari chaat was really nice. But Pani puri was not at all tasty. They just put boiled potato. Not even salts and masala in the aaloo.

I first visited chatwala when it first opened and the food was brilliant. They have maintained their excellent food with competitive prices despite going through a major revamp and expansion. The service was good and there was literally nothing I could fault. We were mainly starters to share - chilli paneer, crispy aubergine and masala chips - all of which were delicious. Will definitely visit and recommend others as well
