Worst takeaway curry ever, I had Chicken madras which tasted like chip shop curry sauce with 5 pieces of chicken chucked in, and very, very expensive... Yuk... never again...

I have just had the most disgusting i Guam takeaway I have ever had . I ordered CHICKEN jalfrezi, and when I got home the meal had chicken and lots of slimy mince. I phoned and it was beef mince so they say I. A chicken jalfrezi cheap bulking substitute. I phoned and they tried to justify putting beef mince in a chicken that’s ok it doesn’t say that on the menu. I’m allergic to red meat. They do t care tge food was disgusting food, don’t go there. I’m going to contact good standards .

My Wife, father and I spent a lovely evening here. Our first visit and guaranteed to be a regular from now on. We received a warm welcome and the gentleman that looked after us was brilliant. The food was simply superb. Between us we sampled a range of starters and a Bhuna, Murgh Mowchak plus a Garlic Tikka delight. Simply wonderful food and lovely releaxed but friendly service. Mid-week was quieter, which we like and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I can't recommend enough!

We booked in for 7.15. our food was eventually served at 8.40. My Biriani was tepid, which I ate as I didn't want to wait any longer, when I told the waiter he gave many excuses and eventually a very grudging appology

This was a little gem - bit difficult to find (next to Chinese restaurant) but absolutely brill. Food was delicious - not an extensive menu but something for everyone. Staff very friendly and attentive, decor great and very clean. Recommend this restaurant and will visit again when able.

A last minute decision to eat out & thoroughly enjoyed our lovely meal served by very friendly staff. Before covid we ate here regularly but have only just started eating out again, so glad to have this restaurant within walking distance, a real asset to the area.

We've had sit in meals here and the food, atmosphere and service has always been superb. So now we are in tier 4, take away only. I have to say I haven't had proper Indian curry for a while, so was really looking forward to a takeaway and it didn't disappoint. It has to be some of the most tastiest food I've had in a long while. We did have to wait maybe hour and half, but that was understandable seeing as no one could go out anywhere so everyone decides to have takeaway. They were so busy I think they had to stop taking orders. My past experience of some other curry houses along Bristol Road in Gloucester, that don't seem to be able to cater properly when busy, need to go take some advice from these guys in Indian Garden. Absolutely delicious food. Will visit here again for sure.

Excellent food. Saag aloo was one of the best I’ve tasted. Garlic chilli chicken had a lovely flavour too without being overpowering. Nice ambiance too

We ordered a takeaway from here and once again there was a mistake and we had to go back. This has happened several times and each time they knew we’d left with the wrong order (our food was always cooked and packaged and waiting ‘out the back’) and hadn’t phoned or offered to send their delivery driver to come to us to make the exchange and we were offered no compensation. Their prices have soared and the service and quality have plummeted. The food is ok but has low meat content and my korma was very hot and lacked that rich, mild, creamy flavour i’m used to. We won’t be ordering from here again.

We didn't know what to expect here as the reviews seem mixed. We ordered from the Indian Garden tonight for the first time as we are social distancing and they are one of the few places that deliver to Berkeley. We are right at the extreme of their delivery zone so we were advised there would be a small wait and we said that was fine. The food arrived bang on time and it was still nice and hot. I had the garlic chili chicken which was delicious, hot enough to let you know your having a curry but not overpowering. I really enjoyed it. My partner had the tandoori mixed grill which was also brilliant. Got to say we were both happy with our meals, can't fault it.

We ordered a home delivery at the weekend - we live approx five minutes from this establishment but fancied a home delivery for convenience. We were quoted 90 minutes for the delivery which was fine. after nearly two hours the food still hadn't arrived & we rang them to be told that two drivers couldn't find us & that our number wasn't connenting. We had been using this servcie for over ten years & shocked to hear this. The boss then said he would dleiver the food. When it arrived the poppadums were stale & the chicken pasanda was tastless. Very disappointed - will not be using them again.

Did not book, for a mid week meal, was welcomed warmly. Excellent table service and as we expected the food was extremely well presented, flavours superb, hot and tasty. The atmosphere was very pleasant with chatter and clearly happy customers. I love the crockery they use here. I have no moans at all, my chicken tikka rogon josh was delicious. The special rice complimented my dish.

We stayed overnight at the pub to which the Indian Garden is attached. We bought drinks in the pub, not realising the restaurant had it's own bar, but we were allowed to take them in. Being a Tuesday night, they have a deal, starter, any main plus rice or naan for £10.95.

We live close by and tend to use the takeaway service rather that going into the restaurant to eat. We have a meal from there at least once a month and have always found the food to be of excellent quality and beautifully cooked. We have used this restaurant regularly ever since it opened several years ago and have always enjoyed the food and have never been disappointed in either the food or the service.

Thought we would give this takeaway a try, but oh boy was it disgusting! I had a chicken balti and it was so watery it slopped everywhere. The chicken was full of skin and hard gristly bits and it was not the least bit spicy. Tasteless slop...! My partner’s Dupiaza was just the same. Another customer waiting for his food told us it was top notch and he always goes there - obviously he’s never had a decent takeaway to compare it to.... The Naan bread was nice and soft, but not very warm. Thoroughly disappointed and will never return!

I have been visiting this East London Institution for over 20 years, since the time when this restaurant occupied a much smaller place and you would have had to sit on shared oval tables. The food used to be absolutely delicious. And the trend continued for years, consistently delivering best Pakistani food in London, I always preferred Lahore over Tayyabs. I remember in 2018 I took my parents there when they came over to visit me in London, they were so impressed I had to take them again there for their famous dal-gosht! But that was then …. It’s a completely different story now. I recently paid a visit here with two of my good friends, both of whom are veterans of this restaurant. For one reason or another all of were back to Lahore after a long while - perhaps over a year. We ordered some of the legendary Lamb Chops, a Nihari, and Karahi Lamb. Some Nan and tandoori rotis. The Lamb chops were dry, over-grilled and very mediocre. The Nihari was flavourless gloopy mess of harsh spices. The Karahi Lamb tasted like super market readymade curry. The nan had very strong baking soda smell. We had to ask to change the roti as it was dry as a cardboard. Overall the immediate experience was very disappointing. I had a bad stomach from which I am just recovering, I had bloated gassy stomach for days after that meal, I felt it completely imbalanced my stomach chemistry, felt nausea for a whole week. My other two friends had more or less similar experiences, speaking to one of them I found out he also had similar bloaty gassy feeling for days, and had to run home after dinner due to uncomfortable upset stomach right away. I don’t want to get into dealing but let’s just say we both rush home to some unnatural call to the nature. Something has definitely changed. I asked the staff if they had a change of chef, but they denied. I have been to this restaurant many times, sometimes once a month over the years. I know the food. This not the food they used to serve. Its sad to witness the demise of such a glorious institution! I

There are 3 Gunpowder locations in London. I went to the one in Spitalfields. It’s a very small restaurant that serves delicious takes on Indian food. Everything is creative and mouthwatering. I had the absolutely delicious kale salad - the kale is crispy! And the leaf wrapped fish with a creamy mustard sauce - very moist and tasty. From my reservation, they knew my birthday was approaching so I also got a dessert with a birthday candle - very thoughtful! The waitpersons and staff were extremely friendly and helpful. London is known for good Indian food, Gunpowder really stands out as a great example.

Ordered on deliveroo- the food was atrocious! Naan bread burned to a cinder, mixed grill drowned in salt, pilau rice slimy and rotten-smelling, byriani rotten-smelling and weird texture. Truly disgusting food, this company should be ashamed to serve such food. Got a full refund from deliveroo thankfully and the food went straight into the bin!
