Good value Indian. Food has good choice, tastes great, and service was good. Cash only now, but ATM immediately outside.

We came with a group and were disappointed the Indian Cottage were unwilling to split the bill so we had to sort all the cash on the table to pay the bill in one go. They only accept cash too! Feedback from most of the group was that the food was below average. In some cases too sweet, and in other cases too spicy. All our dishes came out about 45 minutes after our arrival and they were warm. On street parking is available outside, and a cash machine is next to the Indian too.

Wasn't my cup of Tea as I HATE that food

Always enjoy eating out at this restaurant with my partner, friends and family. Always accommodating and nothing is ever too much of a problem, having turned up in the past, unannounced and in a group of seven people. We have also booked for a family gathering of 30 people, with no problem whatsoever. The staff are always polite and helpful but never hovering around you! The food is always excellent quality, fresh and tasty, cooked extremely well. The Sunday buffet is a great house and super value. On weeknights, there is a Meal Deal that is exceptional value for money. Overall a great experience and amazing quality food. Relaxed atmosphere and background music! Would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys quality Indian food. Please Note It’s a BYO restaurant, local shops in same rank. Soft drinks sold in restaurant at reasonable prices.

Ordered from Deliveroo. When the food arrived, both curries that I had ordered had spilled out into the bag as they had tried to pack two much food into one bag. When I rang the restaurant the gentleman on the other end was rude and unhelpful, trying to blame the Deliveroo driver. I worked in the food industry for many years, if the food is packed properly then the driver would have no problem.

We visit here regularly as the food in always delicious and fantastic value for money. Absolutely love the buffet on a Sunday and the 4 course set meal in the week. Very much enjoyed our meal again this evening. The service was fantastic and the food delicious as usual

The set meal price is great value for money. It’s a bring your own on alcohol, if you forget there’s a shop just around the corner

The was Food stone cold when it finally arrived over an hour late, chicken in the curry was hard, rice cold, popadums weren’t crispy but stale… would avoid this place in future! Please check Google reviews before ordering from here and go elsewhere! Was not good - disappointing please

Thought we would give the all you can eat buffet a go tasted okay but it was all cold in the food warmers. Had to get chef Mike on the go One hit wonder we won’t return 🤮

Very disappointed with our visit this evening. Tables at the end were filled with Deliveroo / Uber Eats bags and 2 kids that weren't with customers were playing in the restaurant. Food was mediocre at best and service was poor. Not what you'd expect for your Saturday evening out.

Love Indian cottage. As a local I visit often both with friends and family and the staff are always so accomodating to large tables/celebrations ect. The midweek meal deal is an absolute bargain and im so glad they do it most days now. The man who owns it is very friendly and the food never disappoints. A real local gem!

Didn't get my order. 3 hours after I ordered they turned up and I didn't accept. As ordered food from else where after waiting so long.

If I could give 0 stars I would. We have ordered from here before so didn’t think it would be awful, but awful it was. The order took over an hour and 20 to come (we are 5 minutes down the road and also had a delivery time of 30 minutes), the delivery driver put the wrong address into his maps and eventually when he found us he was EXTREMELY rude! Screaming and shouting at us, like we put the wrong address into his maps. Worst type of person for a small business who are trying to survive. We called up to try and give some feedback but just had the phone put down on us. Food was cold, bland and tasted days old. Extremely disappointed. If you have money to spend on a takeaway, stay away from here!!

had food their once was good but the place was cold as the door open for deliveroo ect constantly and compliaing the order wasnt ready , so next time we ordered delivery and it didnt show refund did come with appologhy , so we tryed again for a pick up we knew they were very slow so were a few minuites late just to find they were just putting our order through 15 minuetes later still no food / avoid avoid !

Ordered takeaway food which was cold and tasteless. Staff got the order wrong despite using the app. Been a customer for years wont be returning. Absolutely terrible food received and it ruined our evening.

Had a delicious meal yesterday even though garlic fried rice isn't on the menu they will always cater to my taste and exceeded my expectations. I always recommend this place to anyone that's in the area:)

Visited on a Sunday for the all you can eat buffet and was impressed with the selection and quality. £10 included a variety of curry dishes, rice, salad and side dishes. Tasty, tender meat and kept hot in warming trays. There is a £1 charge to bring your own soft drinks. Service was friendly and helpful. Just a shame the atmosphere was ruined by other customers complaining about paying £1 to BYO drinks, as well as the price not including things like chips and poppadoms, as if there wasn't enough selection for £10 already... They were also complaining their food was not hot, which I couldn't understand seeing as it's all kept in warming trays and nothing I ate was cold... Just no pleasing some people. I would definitely recommend and will be visit again, especially for that tikka!

Bristol has a plethora of Indian restaurants however the Indian cottage in Stockwood is my favourite. The food is fresh and very tasty - the garlic nann was outstanding and the feedback around the table was great. It is bring your own alcohol with a very reasonable £1 corkage charge. Highly recommend you try this place out and support a local Indian.

A little gem in Stockwood Bristol that serves excellent food at very reasonable prices. Plus, the staff are really welcoming and helpful. With so many people having deliveries these days ( we witnessed a stream of the usual delivery bags going out the door while we were there) it was easy to get a table and enjoy the 'dining out' experience. Their weekday meal deals allow you to have a full meal for the price that some other places would charge for a main course with rice and there was no skimping on portion sizes. We have been going here for years and will return again soon.

Would rate this 0/10 if I could!! Food took 2 and a half hours to arrive, I called 3 times and was only told the food was on its way with no time frame or apology! The second time I called I was hung up on! When the food eventually arrived it was cold and I had to microwave it, it was also tasteless and by the time it came we were all past the point of hungry and annoyed! Not an enjoyable experience and half of it went in the bin!!

Food was okay. 1 curry bit watery and 1 just warm. Staff were lovely cant really say about atmosphere as only 2 covers in.

Curry and rice was only lukewarm, miniscule amount of chicken as well. Starter and sides were quite nice though. Shame about the mains.

Have ordered for delivery twice this month, the first time we all agreed that the food was lovely (especially the Naga curry) but we’re disappointed that we received 2 tandoori chicken starters and not 2 chicken tikka starters which we had ordered (ordered online so we double checked). Mistakes happen I guess, so we gave them another go a couple of weeks later, again, something in the order was wrong (cheese naan instead of a garlic naan). Such a shame as the food is lovely. Maybe better to dine in so order errors can be quickly resolved.

We (family of four) visited the Indian Cottage Restaurant to sit inside tonight, after normally ordering takeaway from local and older rival Spicy Aroma. We had high expectations... which were quickly destroyed. We had ordered at 17:35, served by local sourpuss Mo, who can only be described as the most miserable man I have ever met. We were the only people sat inside so why our food came over an hour later, I'm not so sure. Our food arrived at 18:40, lukewarm and rushed (we assume the takeaway orders being bagged up in front of us took priority). My curry was barely warm; the bhajis soggy, and the naan breads all raw in the middle. We were asked at the start if we wanted poppadoms for the table, I said yes assuming they were a nice complimentary start free of charge, we were charged £10 for about six poppadoms with a tiny bowl of a few sauces. We had to ask to have some water, and we were charged £4 for two tiny bottles of coke. The curries were barely okay; the rice cold; the chips cheap and frozen; the naans raw. This would have been forgettable and fine until we saw the bill. I was terrified to see a bill of £75 (attached). A takeaway would have been far cheaper (and easier, seeing as we received absolutely no service whatsoever) and warmer. Never again... steer clear, and order from local restaurants in Keynsham (Cinnamon) or Whitchurch (Blue Ginger) instead, or even Spicy Aroma. The restaurant received a five star hygiene rating... presumably as there's no cooking going on here. Steer clear, hopefully they'll be out of the area soon. Last thing... "Mo", a smile wouldn't go a miss. Merry bloody Christmas. If I could give zero, I would.

Indian cottage in stockwood is by far the best Indian cuisine. The place is extremely clean, well presented and all staff are welcoming, friendly and caring for their guests. The food is superb 🤌and well worth the visit, in which it has become my regular. My partner was not ever keen with curry cuisines until I took her here, now she loves this place. 👌

Food was late arriving ,I only live 2 streets away how is this possible. After phoning twice they tried to say I did not answer door, rubbish I was waiting for them .food arrived cold and not edible ,,omg never use them again

Very poor, no communication at all order is over 2hrs late. Food was ordered @ 18:14 delivery due @ 19:35 Message sent to us @ 21:37 saying food was delivered @ 19:35 but wasn’t Phones were still off Had to collect in the end after 2hrs 30mins waiting past the due time and still waited for them to cook it. Got home and to half trays of food and missing items!!! Last time I will use this Indian, Blue Ginger and Paprika are the best in the area by far. And they appreciate your custom.

Very disappointed tonight - have used indian Cottage many times for takeaway as well as going in for a meal there -tonight we had stale popodoms, no salad with onion bhaji, tasteless chicken jelfrezi & not the most flavour some dhansak, only thing really edible was the pilau rice!! Sad to say - want be ordering or returning anytime soon! Waste of money tonight - tried to so right thing & support local.business - SAD to say this didn't pay-off ! If I could have this would have had 0 stars but no option for this so had to choose 1.

Best curry locally. We order a takeaway delivery almost every week, have tried quite alot of the menu and haven't been disappointed once. Really tasty!

I’ve received an offer from The Cottage for the last month or so for 15% off delivery but with the offer comes a menu which the prices are of a higher price than the menu on line. I picked what I wanted off the offer menu and the price came to £24 I then priced up the same on online menu and it came to £25:30 this is not 15% this is 5% approximately so the offer is not as good as it seems. Just so people can be aware. Has anyone else noticed this Regards

Not impressed at all, ordered chicken dopioza, hardly any chicken, half plate onions, very disappointed, so were my other 3 guests, Will NOT recommend, if I'd payed I'd want a refund

Had to wait 3 hours to get our takeaway. Called the restaurant twice and they had no idea where the driver was. Ordered at 7, cancelled at 10pm and no refund as “we knew it would be a wait”. The app said it would be a 1 hour wait. Awful customer service and would not recommend!!

Bloody awful! the first guy serving up was rude, the place serves half the food on polystyrene plates and we had plastic knives and forks! couldn't be further from the pictures, paper tablecloths! 4 courses! first course 1 popadom.2nd course orderd spring roll , out came two tiny ones like the ones you get from Iceland! Then came the curry. . . . butter chicken, horrible, and the garlic naan bread might as well have been toast! never again!

Ordered for delivery. Came in good time and food was hot! Butter chicken best I’ve had in Bristol. Highly recommend, will order again. Also came with some lovely dips which was a nice touch.

I don't usually like writing negative reviews but I was absolutely appalled at my experience with this place. It was the first time I had ordered from here, live in the same area, ordered via UberEats. Was fasting, so wanted an Indian to break my fast with. Before I begin, I used to own my own Indian food catering business, so I know how it works. Which makes me even more frustrated that you have cut corners and KNEW what you were giving was poor quality and a poor reflection of yourselves. You should want to do better. You should not fleece your customers. I ordered a special biryani (£10). Usual industry standard with this dish is omelette, king prawn, chicken tikka and lamb tikka. What did I receive? I received a biryani with absolutely shocking content. 2 lamb tikka pieces diced up (almost as small as minced meat!), 6-8 normal prawns (not king prawn), no chicken content. Yes that's right, NO chicken content. No omelette. It was basically just rice. I paid £10 for a biryani with no content. The tarka daal I ordered was oily and extremely watery, it was not a true Tarka Daal. Almost like tap water. How can you let this leave the kitchen? My siblings ordered normal lamb dishes (4 or 5 pieces of lamb). A £8-£9 dish might I add. Again, cutting corners. I feel absolutely ripped off and will never order from here again. I'm writing this review in hope that someone in the company sees this and acts upon it. Wish you the best in the future but things need to change. Think of your customers, not your pockets.

Very pleased with the food everything time we get it. Always gets the ordered spot on and very kindly throws in a little extra which is very nice. The curry’s and great and so are all the sides and pickle tray. Great place and great value. Will definitely continue ordering from them.

4 of us visited as they are on meerkat meal offer. The food was like nothing we’ve ever tasted before. We live on Oldham and are rather spoilt for choice for Indian restaurants. Order 2 chicken tikka mains on sizzler plates. Maybe the chicken was sizzling in the kitchen, but it wasn’t when we got it. Came on a plate with a load of shredded lettuce and a big blob of bbq sauce (just bizarre). Not sure how the people of Bath like their curries but it wasn’t to our taste at all. Staff were really friendly and the bill was very reasonable. The place was clean too. We all ate most of the food but like I said, not like anything we’ve ever had. Maybe it’s just an area thing. Thanks to the staff. like I said, they were so friendly and polite.

Excellent food the Chicken Bhuna was really good.The waitress who served us was friendly and efficient .Highly recommended will be returning soon.

Really lovely place to eat. There are tables to dine in and eat, or they do offer takeaway.- with collection or delivery. The decor is nice and soothing, it gives a warm and relaxing atmosphere and I love the blue lighting. It is "Bring Your Own Alcohol". The staff are really friendly and welcoming and are attentive. The prices are very good and the food is delicious! My new favourite place to have a curry.

Second time here with my husband and two kids (7&2) and both times we’ve had to wait over an hour for our food! Both times we arrived about 17.30 as we have two children. First time we were the only people in the restaurant and second time there was another table of four. We didn’t order starters as we knew we had limited time with two year old however, we waited over an hour for food! Such a shame as the food was very good. We won’t be returning any time soon unfortunately.

Food is great. Hosts are friendly and really good price. Went for a celebration and they catered to my date night needs. Will definitely be coming back regularly for date nights in the future. Thank you!

Stopped in for a curry on a Saturday night and we were really happy with the food and service. Staff were friendly and welcoming, always happy to help and go the extra mile. Food was late and not the warmest, I had missing items from my order also. I did ring up and they did offer to bring missing items out. Cant fault the food tho it was lovely. So yea next time maybe eat in but yea I dunno if it was busy for it being reason for faults but I'll definitely give another chance

We got lured in on an offer and they charged us way more than they should have done. Terrible music. Barely average food. Felt like staff were inconvenienced by us being there. Definitely avoid there are so many other good Indian restaurants.

Visited recently while visiting Bristol. Got this on a Groupon deal. Travelled by bus from the city centre and the bus stops in front. It is located in a parade of shops in a residential area. Staff were very welcoming and pleasant. Informal setting. Food was good, with good portions. Would visit again.

Visited the Indian cottage tonight, it was mine and my boyfriends first visit there. The staff were helpful and what seemed to be the owner was very polite. The food was delicious and the Wednesday special was good value. £12.50 per person for 4 courses!

Teníamos pollo Sag y pollo TiKka Karachi. Ambos estaban deliciosos.El servicio fue un poco lento, pero hubo una fiesta de cumpleaños allí que ordenó justo antes de nosotros, así que probablemente el motivo fue tan largo. I went to Indian cottage for the first time today with my boyfriend, he lives literally down the road and never took me there, let's say we will definitely go again! We went on a Wednesday £12.50 for 4 courses, all courses were delicious! Staff were friendly, especially the guy who looked like the boss and another guy serving drinks. I would reccomend this to anyone who lives in Bristol and likes an Indian

Orders a curry on Sunday night had it delivered I ask how much the guy on the phone said £37.20 I THOUGHT WOW that's a lot it's only for two and it was the worst curry I think we have ever had it was watery and had a lot of grease on the top no taste what so ever and when I got the menu up on line on Monday they have charged me £5 over what it said on the online menu, so never going back there I am afraid .

Went here last month as was local to where I live and never tried it.Probably one of the most unique Indian restaurants I have been to but this does not take away from the quality of the food.All dishes were packed with flavour and not like your normal standard boring curries.The naan breads are the best I have ever had!!!Will be popping back there tonight!

Ordered meal at 6.15pm on line for delivery, was told it would arrive 7.15pm. Eventually arrived, 25 minutes late. Lukewarm and greasy, really disappointing. First and last time we will be ordering from Indian Cottage.

My Dad and myself go out for curries once a week and try all different Indian Restaurants. Last night we tried this restaurant. They were great. Staff were very friendly. The food was perfect in taste and portion size. We could park right outside with ease and they accept Tastecard. Would definitely recommend and will be going back.

Great service & excellent food. Wednesday nights they have a deal. 4 course meal for only £12.50. You can choose anything from the menu. We have never had a bad meal here but make sure you book a table.

FANTASTIC always get a fantastic Chicken Vindaloo but have the full monty Pilu Rice Chicken Vindaloo Chicken Tika Bombay Potato's Beef Madras NAN Bread and Pompadoms all washed down with a nice cold beer. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

Excellent Indian restaurant. The food is delicious. We particularly like to go on Banquet Night on a Wednesday, as the value and the amount of food you can order for £12 is outstanding. Of particular note is the Butter Chicken. The sauce probably means that the dish alone is 2,000 calories, but it is so delicious – waistline be damned! Friendly staff. Lovely to be able to walk five minutes to a favourite restaurant.

The best curries I've had the pleasure to eat, better than ANY restaurant (butter chicken particularly was incredible). Fresh, flavourful sides and just amazing mains. Cannot rate them highly enough 👌
