Disappointed with my thin half of ciabbatta for £9! I was still hungry afterwards. The baguettes looked better value and they were the same price, 2 large baguettes and plenty of filling. Why did I not have a whole ciabbatta? I didn't complain at the time as didn't want to spoil the atmosphere with my friend

Popped in after visiting the garden centre for some drinks and cake. Nice cake selection including a lovely lemon fudge cake and a very nice scone with my cream tea. Looks a popular place for a full lunch too. Can imagine it gets busy at weekends.

This is a hidden gem. Such a lovely atmosphere and the theme runs throughout with the same patterns used on the seating, cups, plates etc. The walls are a delight and we would definitely recommend this place to anyone who likes a place that is different. We just had Coffee, a Pot of Tea and a warm fruit scone, all of which were lovely. I particularly like that they use attractive cups and saucers rather than mugs. The service was also excellent, it took a while for our order to come, but that was because it was a busy time and all of the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Five star little cafe. The cafe is situated inside the InExcess garden centre. There is seating inside (not dog friendly) & also a lovely courtyard seating area, that is dog friendly. Staff are lovely & helpful. You pay inside & food & drinks are brought to your table. Coffees were very good. Lovely sandwich & one of the best Dorset Apple Cakes I’ve tasted.

Popped in for lunch as was having my car cleaned by the guys outside. Highly recommend the car wash guys - best car clean I’ve ever had and they’re so friendly. The restaurant is now called ‘Charlottes.’ Lunch was average- very bland food that was mainly reheated stuff. The food quality was poor, I think they must buy cheap to make a profit. The condiments were in sachets and all just tasted of vinegar, there were the cheapest unbranded sachets you could get. Staff were smiley bar the lady doing the hot drink who was snapping at customers. The restaurant could be lovely if the food improved. Tables were slow to be cleared so we were sat surrounded by a lots to dirty plates and cups while trying to eat. There are a lot nicer garden centre restaurants around, and only went because of having my car clean. Won’t return in a hurry.

Stopped off for a break from driving. Lovely staff although a bit disorganised. 10/10 cheese scone and tea. Very pretty cafe and comfortable outside too. Wish I lived closer this would definitely be on the visit often list.

Please watch out for onion bahjis. They tasted ' off ' and almost made me vomit. I will not be having them again. Cakes are stale but iced nicely.

Its so pretty here, lovely environment! We are always going here for lovely cakes. Staff are very friendly to! This time I had to ask for teaspoons as they were not put on our tray. They need a good scrub, they were all brown, tea/coffee stained.

shop and cafe full of dogs-many not under control and barking-and one just weed against the chair, disgusting, dogs should not be allowed where food is or in shops spreading flees and attacking people-will not go there again

We had small breakfast and a large breakfast. The sausages were tough I would say hard. No colour. The bacon was fatty and again hardly any colour barely cooked. Tomato hard. Hash browns just cooked. Worst breakfast I have had there. Won’t be returning, shame as it used to be good. My friend wanted a toasted tea cake but the grill was not working maybe that’s the reason the cooked breakfast was so poor who knows. I informed the staff of the issues. They said they could ask the chef to make another one! Why would you want another one when it’s so bad and can’t get it right first time. Coffee was good.

Having been a regular visitor to this restaurant/cafe today we felt disappointed by the recent changes that have taken place Our favourite meal fish and chips has know been changed and know is gluten free why?? If you must introduce gluten free batter for goodness sake keep the original batter as well so we have a choice the batter is bland with no taste Plus you’ve changed a number off other items by looking at the new printed price lists It’s a shame

We have been regulars at this In Excess cafe for several years, sometimes 2 or 3 times a week. We have had numerous good quality breakfasts, lunches and snacks. The food is very good, with a selection of cooked and cold meals and snacks, all served attractively. Their scones are a special treat, all made in-house by the chefs. The only foods we avoid are the savoury pastries such as sausage rolls and pasties. These are bought in and fall well short of the quality of the rest of the food. However, what really appeals to us about the In Excess West End cafe is the staff. Without exception of they are helpful, and efficient. They are well organised, and despite often being very busy, will always have a friendly word. This is epitomised by Josie, a young lady mature beyond her years, who works efficiently and at speed yet always has a smile on her face. Well done and thank you to the entire cafe team for making our visits enjoyable.

Breakfast was poor, the mushrooms were disgusting like tinned ones, the bacon tasted odd, not fresh and the butchers sausage was tough and the skin on it was chewy. Such a shame as the cafe it a nice environment.

This is a brand new family owned breakfast/lunch place that has excellent food choices on their menu. I've had lunch and breakfast there and both were so delicious and fresh. It has been newly renovated so it is very updated and clean. The service is friendly, and very accommodating. Their hours are 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday with weekly specials along with a tantalizing regular menu. Try it - you won't be disappointed!

I have been here many times. The cafe is a good size and the garde centre is excellent. In previous visits I have founded the place good in terms of service, range of options and so on. Yesterday there was plenty of xaje but the attitude of staff and the restricted savouryoptions left a sour t taste. My garlic mushrooms were lovely and so we're the cheesy chips my partner had. However, she had good for something more. The staff were clearly going through the motions but the focus felt like being on getting g to the end of a shift and not on providing the normally efficent, chatty and friendly service that they normally achieve. Very disappointing.

We have visited the cafe on various occasions recently over the last 3-4 months and on each visit the food is always excellent. The venue is clean and there is lots of space to sit down - with a choice of indoor or outside. We have often had afternoon tea / cakes etc but also had chose the burgers for lunch recently and they were excellent. The staff are always very pleasant and if required its also dog friendly.

My daughter took me to The Glass House for a Mother's day lunch and what a surprise we had. The car park was quite full so we imagined the restaurant would be very busy and we hadn't booked. On arrival there were plenty of free tables and seating so we were able to sit in a quiet spot. I chose the beef and ale which turned out to be like a Beef bourguignon with roast potatoes and a medley of vegetables. My daughter had the warm roasted vegetable ciabatta with melted mozzarella and a side salad. Both dishes were absolutely amazing. The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. My daughter paid and the two meals with an americano and a cold elderflower drink came to £20 which we felt was very good value considering the quality of the meal and service. We were both very pleased and will certainly visit again.

We haven't eaten here since the pandemic began so at least two years. It was always a bit drab but it was somewhere to eat if everything else was closed maybe. We needed to get the car washed and we were hungry so we took a risk and came here. (The car wash guys did an amazing job too, can't miss them out) The place has been transformed into a trendy something that sells nick knacks and garden stuff and a cornucopia of things to feast your eyes on. Let's stick to the restaurant called Glass House. The menu could be broader and have more exciting options but I plumped for ham, eggs and chips and my wife a prawn sandwich. I had lashings of lean ham, not your 2mm slices but real slices, two eggs perfectly cooked and too many chips for me to eat. The prawn sandwich was really good and two pots of tea. All well done and in an atmosphere I have never seen there before. It used to feel like lunching in a greenhouse. And the service was good which it was difficult sometimes to say about the old place. So, well done everyone for a good job!

I ordered my delivery through uber and I've left them 1 star too, whoever packed my food put a hot drink half full not even full and a panini in with cakes so they melted they should have been separated not in together and the panini and drink were stone cold i ended up putting them in the bin due to uber being very late between uber and costa I had to bin half the order as the panini was stale and the drink was pathetic for a medium drink only half full won't be using uber again or going to this costa what a disappointment for the fees you pay

My husband and I booked for lunch, he had The Home run burger and sticky toffee pudding for dessert, and I had the crispy chicken sandwich and apple and berry crumble for dessert. The girls behind the bar were well presented, friendly and cheerful. We ordered our drinks and food together, it arrived in no time at all, it was plated nicely and the food was piping hot and absolutely delicious. The chips and onion rings were hot and crispy, not greasy at all. The desserts were also piping hot, and totally scrumptious. Sheila was our server today, she so warm and welcoming, really friendly but also professional in her approach. A credit to the company. We can’t wait to return.
