Brilliantly located within walking distance of the town, historic dock yard and the Marina. Our room had a port hole window, which was quite lovely. The hotel is dog friendly day too.

Rooms are tiny, especially the bathroom. There is barely enough room for a small shower cu bicle, a sink and anyone over 6ft tall would struggle to fit on the toilet. The room is so small when you open the bathroom door you have to move the chair away from the small table. We were in a party of 10 and all 5 Rooms were the same.

Booked to see a concert at the nearby Guidhall. Pokey room, but clean, tidy and modern. Bathroom tiny. Barely room to pass the sink to get to the toilet, and if you open the window, whilst sitting on the toilet you will knock yourself out getting off the toilet! Parking and breakfast extra, but having paid £140 for a room that was disappointing. What really peeved us was the fact that after coming back to the hotel at 10.45pm we were advised the bar was closing. We were lucky to get served an alcoholic drink but were told the coffee machine was cleaning. At least four other groups of people came after us wanting drinks and were refused. My partner pressed for a coffee and was told to use the machine around the corner from the bar. Then witnessed four staff around the reception desk for fifteen minutes. A further two staff left within that time. Never have I been at a hotel where guests have been turned away at the bar in such circumstances. We will not be having breakfast and certainly will not be staying at Ibis again.

Check in was super smooth and the staff really welcoming and friendly. The rooms are on the small side and aren't air conditioned which meant it did get stuffy. Also it said on their website that these are new rooms but there is mould in the shower. Also the car park is quite small for size of hotel so although you can pay for parking it is first come first serve and you may end up having to park outside of the hotel if you are unlucky. Location is only 15 to 20 walk from Gunwharf Quay shopping outlet.

I stayed at the hotel as a tourleader of a large group. I liked the location, just across an interesting street with restaurants and pubs. The manager Chris was very welcoming and professional and Hassan, the receptionist was friendly and helpful. Di

The Hotel is clean, well kept, and in good location. Our room was very small, with very little space to place things. The bathroom was also very small with the tiolet situated in a corner very restrictive, that your knees touch thw wall in front of you and your arms, the wall and sink. However the room was clean and properly maintained, as was the rest of the hotel. The breakast was very good, with a variety of cold and hot food to chose from. The Hot Chocolate was delicious. The staff, was very nice, polite, helpful and very friendly

Urine on the toilet seat upon arrival, awful pillows and hit with a £12 parking fee when i arrived with no indication of what to expect prior to booking. So much for being a guest. They have scrimped on cost absolutely everywhere and used sustainability as its scapegoat when really it is for nothing more than to line their pockets with the money of hard working people who deserve the money they possess. Truly reflective of a modern business that just wants to see gains on their figures every year. They have fish in a tank as wide as a 50p im sure they justify that with some spill about memory well i guess it must be ok to ruin my night and provide me such an awful experience as i will be willing to forget! Sound deadening is embarrassingly bad, considering its on a main road in a city i think thats particularly poor, their idea of security is scanning your key on a lift but you can just wait until someone comes down and jump in after they get out so even your safety is protected by a facade. Honestly take the £12 for the parking add it to your budget and stay in a place that care about you because this is breadline living at a cost. I came here for nothing more than a break and still feel i need one so thanks ibis i hope the corporate big wigs behind this venture are satisfied with how damaging they are to society, you wonder why finances divide us so greatly it’s experiences like this where you realise how little you mean to a company.

Nice hotel and staff mostly fine. The main issue is the bathrooms. They are really small and if you are 6ft+ like me or a bit heavy you will find sitting on the toilet uncomfortable and the shower a struggle. I ended up using the men’s room in the lobby. The hotel does have “accessible” rooms and I think if i stayed there again I might try one of those.

135 pounds for a rabbit cage is exaggerated. At this price, when I made my reservation I was informed that breakfast and parking were not included but I was expecting a larger and more comfortable room. Airbnb has no problem dealing with this style of hospitality. Staff can do better. Well placed in Portsmouth for ferries and sightseeing in the city. Good catering.

Room small enough. Bathroom very tight but with hatches windows. The breakfast is relatively diverse, British, cereal, continental and the coffee is ok. The staff is very short but always friendly. There is a billiard table, cushions and armchairs to chill out. The location is really great. In 15 minutes at the historic harbor.

Rooms are tiny and grubby, bathroom is minuscule, the sink had hair in it when i arrived! The worst thing was the constant smell of cigarette smoke, coming from someone smoking in one of the nearby rooms!!!!! The staff did nothing about this!!! Avoid this hotel it’s a disgusting waste of money……

Considering the price of the room, which was small and not terribly well equipped, paying for breakfast and parking on top is a bit of a cheek

Was greeted at the check-in area by a polite gentleman, who quickly got us checked in and told us where our room was. My sister and I went out for the evening at the Guildhall which was even closer than I anticipated. When we returned, I spoke to the barman, Johnno, and asked if he was still serving, he said he was packing up but would be happy to grab us a drink. We ended up talking with him for a bit, he was a really nice guy and showed exceptional customer service. The room was clean and tidy, they were small which we expected but we were only there to sleep so this wasn't an issue. The bathrooms are very small but achieve their purpose. Only things worth noting are the sockets are limited, 2 wall plugs and one multi-socket by the window and you can hear the traffic on the road side of the building. For the price and location, we left happy.

Great location close to centre where there’s a nightlife, however, the room was like a uni dorm, the bathroom was tiny and the decor was gloomy. Furthermore, the shower screen door did not close properly but the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was unappealing and we were served undercooked sausages and whilst we had breakfast the ceiling started leaking next to us. The parking had to be paid for, which was not specified. Overall, the stuff were friendly and welcoming and happy to welcome dogs.

When I saw the advert for this hotel, it seemed fine so I booked (non-refundable unfortunately) However, on arrival, I noticed a sign on reception stating that we should register our vehicle in the car park to avoid a £50 fine. This is fair enough and ensures locals don't park there and ensures adequate space for guests. However, what I wasn't expecting was then a request for £12 for parking fees! This is appalling and not what I'd have expected from a chain like Ibis in a smallish place like Portsmouth. The room was fine, although the shower room was tiny, tucked into a corner and maybe 3m2 in size. The chair in front of the desk had to be moved to permit access to the toilet and shower room. Had I not paid in advance on a non-refundable rate, I would have walked away to stay in my regular place, where guest parking is NOT chargeable. I was absolutely disgusted at this unadvertised hidden charge, although all staff who I met were very helpful and polite, especially Sebastian on reception. I will not return nor recommend this place. Due to feeling ripped off with this charge, I did not feel inclined to sample their restaurant either in the evening or breakfast so cannot comment on food or service.
