Ocean Swell in Portsmouth

Very awful food , I ordered fish & chips & onion ring only thing that was edible was the chips ! Fish & onion ring batter uncooked & soggy . I don’t advise wasting your money here !

Their chicken nuggets and curry sauce was nice

The guy who served me had an incredibly poor attitude - clearly not big on basic manners. He practically threw my change back at me, missing my hand so it dropped over the floor. I then waited outside and he literally yelled at me a couple of minutes later and stormed off. I went back in and a lady who I presume was the owner/his mother served me. She was clearly embarrassed as she apologised and laughed nervously. The son’s attitude stunk, I won’t be going back

Has the fish supplier changed ?used to be lovely and flakey, but tastes like frozen economy shop bought now .....

Tasty chips and good quick service. I go there occasionally, but the food is always filling.

Fish definitely not fresh tastes and looks like Aldi frozen stuff. Definitely not the large portion of chips that I paid for very stingy on portion size. Been told its hit and miss here , I missed this time

Visited son, decided to try chips shop at end of his road, it was the best fish and chips we have ever tied , chips nice and tasty, fish well what can I say batter was nice thin, crispy NOT soggy at all, and most of all it WASN'T SWIMMING IN GREASE very tasty, thoroughly enjoyed this food, would highly recommend, will be going back

Soggy batter. Ordered haddock but it wasn't haddock. It wasn't even cod. No idea what it was but it wasn't nice!

It was ok, fish was small and batter a bit thin. chips were average, very hard to find what i call old school fish and chips

You have to wait a while at times but they are great fish and chips and cheaper than others in the area.

We popped in one lunchtime, about 12.30pm just for some chips....... didn’t think anything of it but when we got home (10 mins away if that) they were almost cold.... heated them up in the oven but they tasted stale.......as in the night before’s left overs......Not going back there

Can only speak on my past experiences. Had this fish and chips shop a couple of times and I’ve never really had any good food. But I haven’t tried it in the last couple of years! So I will be going back soon

Rude women behind the counter. If she dose not want to be in customer services then she needs to get another job. Won't be coming back at all. And the food is over priced and poor quality.

Large portion of chips for the smallest that you can order. Enough for 2. Fish decent size for medium. If want large will cook to order. Good value.

Polite staff, good service and food.

It tastes okay I guess once you've squeezed all the oil out...Will be trying a new chippy from now on that's hopefully a little better...

Love Ocean Swell'ing! Good prices fish and chips and always tasty. Usually have to wait for mushy peas but just about everything else is ready to go when ordered.

Been to this chippy for about 25 years. New owners took over in about 2011 and prices went up but never the less it still a nice chip shop and is very popular
