Groupon voucher is not good value - you do not get what is advertised and the food made me ill. There is no saving to be made and no great choice - only 3 items.

We had previously visited the bar downstairs, enjoying a sublime hot chocolate and great service so we were excited to venture to the restaurant and see what culinary delights awaited us. We went on a Sunday and were informed upon being seated that the Sunday lunch menu was our only option, a little disappointing as the à la carte menu had some appealing options, which we'll look to order in future. The attractive dining room is very tranquil, comfortable and not overcrowded, as well as a lovely view of Hythe seafront, the service we received was attentive and polite as well as timely. We ordered the sea bass and beef mains with apple crumble desserts, I would recommend the crumble certainly, however, all the dishes were well presented and fairly generously sized. As Gourmet Society cardholders, we received a free main and dessert, honoured and dealt with by the servers very efficiently even though they were not entirely au fait with the scheme. All in all, a lovely location and a peaceful venue with smiling faces and pleasantry, as we visited on a murky February weekend, I would be very intrigued to see the well-placed restaurant in the beautiful Hythe sunshine!

There is no better place to enjoy the wonderful food on offer. The specials are amazing, plus fish and chips to die for

The quality of food was very bad. I order a starter, fish chowder. it came out all milky with a little meat I couldn't eat it. The price was £6.99. The main course I ordered was a fish dish for £17.99. The fish was one slice on top of a bed of crushed potatoes, I only got one slice of fish for that price. The food was very poor and tast less I'll not go back to this restaurant. It's very expensive it's a ripoff😠😠😠😠😠

Really enjoyed our visit last month with my mother in law-it was a real treat to have such good service, lovely views and great food. My husband had the nicest fish and chips ever, complemented by half a lemon in muslin, my salmon steak on pak choi too was delicious. We were sorry none of us could manage a dessert so will have to return. Highly recommended .

After my 85 year old grandad took a 10 hr couch trip to stay at the stade court hotel, and see all his family down here he wished to treat us all to a family meal in your Al a carte resteraunt. Things were not good at all as a chef I would not recommend them to anyone food was cold inedible and the steak was about good enough to re sole a tramps pair of shoes . After asking if the Thai green curry was chicken and told yes it was placed in front of my husband and was beef which could of placed him a night in hospital as he is allergic . They were advised by myself that there griddle needs a good clean as the build up on our food tasted like last months offerings , in a nut shell people do not eat here as your will be very dissatisfied.

We stayed via a Living Social hotel and 3 course meal stay, and we blown away with both. The hotel room was excellent as equally was the restaurant location, overlooking the sea front via panoramic windows. We would gladly recommend and return at a later date. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The 3 course meal would have been £21.95 per head, an absolute bargain for what we received and location /setting etc.

What has happened to Best Western chain lately? All the ones we've visited have been run down and very poor with terrible food. This one is no exception. The young receptionist, who was a management trainee, however, was polite and very helpful. There was no-one except ourselves in the restaurant at a peak time (does this tell you anything?) and my lasagne was inedible and rubbery. My wife's chicken nachos were cold and unappetising. On the whole a very poor show. Management was nowhere to be seen, perhaps this is the problem.

My Mother lives locally and decided to try it since it looks out over the sea (nice location) firstly was shown to the dining room upstairs my Mother having had a stoke took the stairs very slowly the waitress walked so fast that by the time we reached the top she was looking for us, now I didn't think that this was very polite. She asked us about drinks and so ordered a glass of wine and a soda water. Soda water never turned up. Waited 45 minutes for our meal then when it did turn up my stake was over cooked should have been rare my cheese and mushroom sauce seemed like it was out of a packet flavourless and odd tasting! My Mothers lamb shank and mash was nice but the veg was disappointing hard carrots soggy cauliflower and a mush that I think was supposed to be ratatouille. Never even asked if we wanted desserts or coffee left us on our own until I asked for the bill when I spotted the waitress. The worst money spent on lunch time dining, they weren't even busy at one point we were the only ones in there. Don't go!

Food was bland and disappointing, though it looks like they are trying to make up for it with quantity. Seems the chef doesn't want to be there. If you order sausage roll with fries, it will cost you £9. If you order it separately, it will be £7. That is, unless they give part of your order to someone else and then tell you they don't have any more, even though you already paid and been waiting for 10 minutes for the food. Just go anywhere else and you'll have better rating experience

We tried to catch afternoon tea, but were appalled by the downmarket clientele. We immediately left. Avoid at all cost.

We had booked a room in the adjoining B&B (highly recommended) and also reserved a table at the Famous Ship Inn. Our drive from our home Devon took us over 7 hours (thank you M25 and M20) so we were only just in time for our reservation. The inn itself is very old but we were shown to a table in a modern conservatory on the south side. The food and service were impeccable and the place was doing a great trade, which created a warm and enjoyable atmosphere. This was an excellent dining experience.

We popped in for lunch. We were not staying at the "hotel" so cannot comment on the rooms. The food is excellent, if a little overpriced. As are the drinks. An example is a pint of lager shandy was priced at £6.35 and noted as a pint of Birra Moretti on the bill. I raised this but they said they "could not change it". And the larger used was not Birra Moretti! That is disappointing and, for me, that's a deal breaker.
