We booked a 3 course meal with a lot of friends on 14/12/2024 , staff was amazing and friendly also food was really good and worth every penny definitely recommended to anyone who is thinking of going

We went with friends for a Christmas meal and had a great time. Excellent meal with very friendly and attentive service and nice surroundings

Quite pleasant atmosphere although it still has the feel of a greasy spoon cafe. The staff are very welcoming and helpful. I came with a large group for a Christmas meal and it was this that really disappointed me. I had Pate, turkey roast and Christmas pudding. The starter and dessert were ok but the turkey roast was awful. Very little meat, the vegetables, apart from the sprouts, were over-cooked. The roast potatoes looked more like soggy chestnuts - they wereover cooked and didn’t really look like roast potatoes at all. My wife had the same meal but hers looked fine and I got the distinct impression that mine was a leftover from a previous order that had been reheated. Had we not been with a group of friends, I would have complained immediately. I felt that I had been really let down and will think twice before going again.

We had a group booking for our drama group - 19 people....unfortunately 3 had to drop out due to illness - but a call to The Huntsman sorted it all out and the 3 were cancelled with no fuss. Our table was ready - with crackers and little wooden 'scatters' (not the usual shiny plastic!). Starters, mains and desserts all arrived quickly and hot food was really hot - nothing 'luke warm'. All meals were enjoyed and I heard no complaints about quality or quantity. (We had the festive menu which is not listed in the food to recommend in this review!) Staff were all friendly, pub looked festive and we all had a great evening. Many thanks!

Came for a Christmas lunch with 8 adults with learning disabilities, and my 2 colleagues. The place looked lovely and inviting, with the table set nicely for our festive meal. The first course was really nice. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Venue, atmosphere and amenities were all great.

Well, where do I start… firstly what a FANTASTIC pub!! We booked our works Christmas party here table of 16. This was also on a busy trading evening, as it is . Let alone our party! The pub has such a cosy and welcoming ora. Beautifully decorated due to the Christmas season. The staff are so welcoming and friendly, they can’t do enough for you. The food is absolutely delicious, hot tasty and well presented! The staff and chief catered for my mother who is vegan/vegetarian. My mum even said this is the best Christmas dinner she’s ever had!!! All our work colleagues said, what a beautiful pub! And honestly outstanding food. I would recommend anyone to the huntsman. It’s shame other pubs don’t provide this service!!! All starters, mains and desserts we could not fault! We will be definitely be booking here next festive season! Can’t recommend enough!!!! Thank you!

I always have a lovely time when I pop in, normally for a few drinks. But when I've had food it's always been to a high standard. The staff are always welcoming and friendly and the landlords have been brilliant everytime I've been in. On the few instances where I've been served a dead pint its been sorted with no issue. All in all, it's a cracking pub with lovely people who make it a pleasure to visit. Also it has probably the best smoking shelter I've come across in bristol.

We had our Darts Christmas meal there last night. For 14 of us Ladies. The Staff and meal was absolutely Outstanding!! Best home cooked Christmas dinner ever.the starters and Puddings were divine 😋 and the 3 course meal was very reasonable. We had a wonderful time . We definitely recommend them We will definitely be back .And will be re bookings for next year. Great Job to everyone. You were amazing. Thank you 😊

Went here on the 5th December for a xmas meal out we are a ladies dart team there was 14 of us and it was the best meal by far prawn cocktail to start was out of this world fresh and crisp the main was a turkey xmas dinner all came out hot extra gravy and sprouts too and the pudding was to die for we will be back again a beautiful night with beautiful friends and the best food ever and let's not forget staff they were amazing so helpful and kind u couldn't of asked for a better evening definitely coming back thank you so much x

We had a table booked for 5 for 12noon, we really enjoyed the food and the staff were all SO friendly. Lady behind the bar was really friendly and happy. Would definitely go back for another visit and would recommend to others. Both are dogs were allowed in and sit with us whilst we had Sunday lunch. Sunday lunch was huge and really nice.

This was our first time to The Huntsman and I can say nothing but good things. The service was great. The food was incredible, I think all 7 of us cleared our plates. Lovely atmosphere. Would definitely go again.

What an improvement ! New management are brilliant , food was lovely ! We had a get together for our daughter’s 18th birthday and nothing was to much trouble , love it here thank you guys for turning the local into a great pub again ☺️

Attended kids halloween party and all the kids really enjoyed them selves the staff went out of their way to make it absolutely amazing on top of having the kids entertained for 2 hours their hospitality on food was perfect not one complaint all hot meals and the presentation was perfect well done guys your decorations were amazing keep it up definitely be back

We had a great evening for our daughter’s 16th birthday. They were very accommodating to our family of 25. Food was great, venue was lovely and decorated for Halloween. We all had a brilliant time. Thank you

Overall this was a really nice pub/restaurant the food was perfectly cooked and reasonably priced, it was busy with a great atmosphere my only gripe is the service wasn't great we waited at least ten minutes to get a drink whilst watching the locals get served almost immediately.

Great local pub. Good selection of beers and ciders.

Wonderful for families peaceful atmosphere. Staff are great prices are very reasonable with ample parking a play area for children and the food came out promptly. Spoke to Andy and char who are wonderful and happy to help. Good pint too. Thank everyone at the huntsman.

Met up as a alternative venue as a group of 12 because our usual venue was fully booked Food was excellent wide choice and reasonably priced found Staff very friendly and a vey relaxing atmosphere will definitely be back

Not overly busy this evening but had a great time in the pub met the landlord and landlady and had a drink with them both very friendly excellent service and all in all good evening would highly recommend.

Came in for the quiz night on a Sunday was absolutely amazing then came in again for the musical bingo on Monday evening. Was a brilliant night! Food was amazing quick service despite it being a sale out event! Would 100% come back again. Also dog friendly which is a massive help

Not verry nice to sit in verry dull wasn't cheap but not expensive but sould tell the chips are frozen food came out chips all burnt burger wasn't good at all taste like a foot no flavour be good for a child or an oap maybe

Held a suprise graduation celebration her for my daughter and ordered buffet though the pub. Buffet was really good and guests commented on how nice the food was. Stacey and Andy were so helpful all evening and nothing was to much trouble. They really did make the evening so special for us.

I visited The Huntsman with my young (and fussy) daughter but the kids menu is fab and you can choose exactly what you want, so she was in her element. The bar staff were very friendly and welcoming and we were served promptly, they even came over to ask my daughter about the game she was playing which I thought was lovely even though the pub itself was pretty busy. The food was amazing and came out quickly but was piping hot, everything was cooked to perfection and tasted so good, the youngest even said how nice it was, the guys in the kitchen were also great when she was being nosey and wanted to look through the window into the kitchen, the wave (along with the ice cream sundae) made her day! The young man who served us was very polite and helpful too, he couldn’t do enough for us. There was a great atmosphere throughout the pub, the new landlords have turned this place around. The music was great too, will recommend and will definitely be back!

Visited on Tuesday night to see the classic cars outside in the car park. Weather wasn't great but the kids enjoyed seeing the old style American cars and we got a burger while we were there as they had a deal on.

Huge call out to Maddie, we were a table of 11 so all a little manic, Maddie was superb, friendly, doubled checked our orders and recalled the specifics when bringing out our meals - really appreciated and shows true customer care

Very nice decor and coloured scheme for table and chairs very good parking for disabled . Very good sitting area outside to enjoy the sunny weather very good for dog owners because you can bring your dogs here. One thing I would say the food is ok for quick meal. The service was OK at bar with drinks and ordering food but when the staff came to clear plates away from us she did not clear all four plates away from our table she left one behind and did not come back to clear it. I feel this is very wrong and bad service and atmosphere was very quiet we were only family in here today eating. I feel I would not rush back here.

Andy (the manager) couldn’t do enough to ensure the event went smoothly, from discussing food requirements & timings (before the event) & checking all was OK during & after the event. The buffet food was good & plentiful with labels on the vegetarian platters. Later in the evening a number of people in our group ordered meals and said they enjoyed their meal. The pub was clean & bright & the staff friendly and helpful. There was also live music from 8pm (not arranged for our event) and the singer was absolutely fantastic. I would definitely recommend the Huntsman to anyone wanting a good meal, lovely environment & excellent service.

Can't rate the food as we had already eaten elsewhere. But we can say the staff were very friendly and the place was buzzing. Clearly a popular spot for locals. But plenty of space for us to relax with a few drinks and play card games. Reasonable prices for the drinks as well.

Come here every week for our family outing, food is amazing and the staff are very friendly. My son also loves the American car show on a Tuesday evening. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a nice relaxed meal with a friendly atmosphere.

Been here twice in the last week for food. Twice they wouldn’t serve us. Once they seen us walk in at half 7 looking at menus went up a few minutes past 8 and they then approached us saying the kitchen shut at 8. The second time they refused us due to the chef having a melt down and “were to busy” even though there was no one with food on there tables will definitely not return for food.

Went not wanting food.. walked in the smell was something else.. prices reasonable, be totally honest would of paid more.. the staff was lovely so welcoming.. was a pub I use to go but didn't like it.. new landlords literally new atmosphere.. would recommend to anyone, family or lush night out with out the kids lol.. seriously one to try!!xx

Chef threw a wobbly apparently it was busy and a big order was put in for food and he. Stopped taking any more food orders for 30 mins. We got up to leave and barman told us he would sort it food was fine but will think about next time. No camra discount or blue light discount as in other Marston pubs. Probably not returning

Needed a local and bingo, the huntsman did it. Great chance to catch up with close friends witha decent range of beers.

Food and bar staff were amazing however the landlord seemed bothered by our booking and was rude by telling us to hurry with our order.

Food here is amazing, it is perfect every time. However the service is extremely slow. They only have 1 person on bar as well as 1 person bringing the food out. I have been waiting 35 minutes for a single meal when the pub is particularly quiet.

This is such a lovely pub and the food is amazing, however the service is extremely slow. My last experience here I was waiting over45 minutes for two meals, this occurred when the pub was quiet and had hardly any people. Highly disappointed as the food here is great and I always enjoy my meal but the service unfortunately brings the rating down.

We went to the Huntsman for a family meal , there were 10 of us , the staff were outstanding , welcoming , exceptionally accommodating. The food was excellent , every meal cooked to perfection. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone.

A big thank you to Andy and his team at the Huntsman. We held mums wake here and Andy did a great job. After a quick phone call and a 10 minute meeting Andy had sorted everything out for me,the room, extra staff and the buffet which by the way was excellent. I was kept up to date with txt n phone calls which at a difficult time for the family was one less thing to worry about. I have no hesitation in recommending Andy and all the staff at the Huntsman.Im sure they would do a great job hosting any family party or get together. Once again,thank you.

We popped into the huntsman today for a Monday rainy day treat. The food was amazing! The steak was cooked to perfection, the chicken kebab was banging, so tasty, the kids cheeseburger was lush too, wr all had clean plates! Desert was really good too, all such great value too. Lovely warm pub, I would highly recommend.

Lovely family pub, went on Sunday for the roast, they do have all the classics as well as vegetarian meals on offer, very nice looking meals for the price. Nice place for families, friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. BUT if your looking for a quite pub then best avoid. Like all local pubs they have a pool table which attracts the teenagers which can be noisy. Overall if your looking for somewhere reasonable with a good atmosphere then this could be for you.

Lovely staff, kind to my mum. We like taking her for a meal there as its near her flat.

Myself and my partner have ate here now on numerous occasions, the food is absolutely fantastic! Wide selection of starters, mains and desserts. They offer burger, pizza and curry deals for amazing prices. The quality and presentation exceeds expectations. Everything is cooked from fresh you can really tell the difference in comparison to other pubs. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and happy to help with any questions or enquires. Wide selection of beers, ciders, larger and spirits which is also reasonably priced. The huntsman has a warm and welcoming atmosphere. All bar and tables and toilets are kept clean and well maintained. In the summer this will be hotspot as of the front seating area. I would highly recommend this pub to absolutely anyone. What a lovely experience. I will undoubtedly be returning!!

Such a lovely pub, the manager allowed me to throw my baby shower here and it was so lovely. Staff are attentive and caring. Food is always great. Yhe kids loved the play section. Thank you so much

What an amazing turnaround by the new owners. I was dubious when my niece was holding her baby shower here due to previous visits. There was need. Absolutely amazing service, very friendly environment. Menu looks amazing so will def return. Thank you to everyone for making us feel so welcome.

I would highly recommend the food here. I had the special of the day which was Lamb shank. It was absolutely delicious. It’s a lovely place to eat. The staff are very welcoming and friendly.

Really nice place, great service, desserts were really nice, the lunch time specials were slightly underwhelming though, definitely not half a breast on the Hunters chicken.... overall though, a pleasant lunch!

Lovely, family friendly pub. Very clean with friendly bar staff and good range of drinks. Enjoyed a nice night out with friends here, and looking forward to Spring when we can ride our bikes as its only a stones throw off the cycle path.

It's a great atmosphere in this place! We went for a family meal for my dad's birthday and the service was great. Our server was called Madi and she was quick and efficient with what everyone wanted. Also the food was amazing, and we had a fabulous time eating here.

Awful! Such a shame as we’re local and would love to be able to visit this pub regularly but won’t ever return. Waited over an hour for our meals and not only no apology but actually told it was our fault as we ordered under the wrong table number which was not true! The cheek of it!! The Sunday roast was bad and kids vegi burger was two unedible nuggets overcooked to the max! Avoid at all costs I’d say! So many other nice pubs/eateries locally that will be getting our business from now on.
