Lovely food as always, ordering food for years.

I really want to know if house of spice now has a new owner or new chef? I am devastated! Honestly this had been our best Indian for years.. We have been ordering for 9/10 years but our last two orders have been horrendous. The food was horrible and nothing like before. My best friend has always ordered from here and she also said the same? I’m scared to order now because I don’t want to waste my money. Can you confirm what has changed?

ordered food at 5:30 for delivery at 8 order turned up at 8:20 with missing items piss poor and when the food eventually turned up it was disgusting we will not be using this place again

Have you changed chef? Been a regular customer with you 3-4 years now. Past 2 meals (massala sauce based) have been poor quality. Sauce runny like a soup,poor quality vegetables in the vegetarian tikka massala. As for the mint sauceit looked like milk but with ni taste! The cherry on the cake is-my partner just gone to the address as stated on the menu to get a refund and they have moved! Not in erith anymore,mived to belvedere,which they failed to tell us on the phone! Priceless

We ordered our new years eve traditional curry take away,well to say it poor is a a compliment,turned up swimming in watery sauce (tika jalfrezi),rang to complain and got barrage of abuse calling me lier and I'm trying it on to get free food ,told them I'm not eating it so they can come and get it ,with a full refund 45 minutes later driver turned up trying to take bag of food back with out giving me our cash back ,please give this place a wide birth

Food was absolutely lovely - hot and tasted fantastic, waited a little longer for delivery but given the circumstances who really cares food was hot, fresh and tasty - usually with the order they give free popadoms, salad and mint sauce - they didn’t on this occasion but nether the less the food was great so can’t fault them at all. Always order from this restaurant, have done for years and will continue to do so - family come to mine just for this restaurant when they fancy a curry as they are too far away or delivery. Wouldn’t order my Indian from any other restaurant.

WARNING!! NEW OWNERS!! WHO DON'T WANT TO KEEP EXISTING CUSTOMERS. I used to be a regular customer here. Always ordering from them. I like my food to be spicy, some people like it to be mild. So I placed and order online and then called them to ask for it to be extra spicy and they said they will charge me an EXTRA £1.50 for making it spicy!!! LOOOOL. ARE THEY SERIOUS???? FIRSTLY which INDIAN takeaway charges EXTRA money to make something more spicy??? Secondly if they are new owners, surely they should try to retain the previous owners loyal customers?? Basic business 101. The person on the phone was rude af! And didn't seem interested. I cancelled the order and he didn't seem to care one bit. Such a shame since me and my family and a lot of the bengali people in the area used to order from you guys but now they won't anymore. You bengalis are such flops Lool. It will fail for you guys sorry to say, if you continue like this ;)

I have ordered the food via website I love the food and it was my family dinner last week, their service was rely good. Food was absolutely testy and delivery on time.

Food was absolutely testy and delivery was bit late. I have cal the 2 time and they said very busy and food on the way and i was very angry 😡 with them. However when i receive my food it was very hot. Overall i like their food they make my dinner with my family.

My family likes their food since we moved in erith. Always on time and sometime during the weeked 5-10 minute late. But their food is proper hot and tasty. Thank u for giving us best indian food.,

Friday evening and I fancied something spicy for dinner Decided to order a takeaway from House of Spice How refreshing to receive a delivery well within the time slot advised If you haven’t tried the meat samosas- you must! They are excellent, decent size and sooo delicious Prawn Jalfrezi - another good choice Thank you House of Spice

Always order from here,always fantastic,but not today.Ordered 1 chicken tikka chat masala,1 chicken tikka Ceylon,1 coconut rice,2plain&2 spicy puppodoms,1tandori roti & 1 sag aloo...that's what we paid for....GOT 2chicken chat masalas,1pilau rice & 1 naan. Not happy at all!!! When rang & complained couldn't make them understand the problem!!! Also there website had an error so couldn't order online,so disappointed,paid for somethings we didn't get!!!

Placed our first order tonight. Arrived well ahead of the time given, well packaged and each dish clearly labelled. Very good food and the Kheema naan was especially good - light, fluffy and a good balance of filling. Will definitely order again

I have been ordering takeaway from this place via Hungryhouse for sometime now. Yes for UK standard of Indian food the place is ok with a reasonable delivery waiting time. However like most Indian restaurants and takeaways in the UK, they are not offering authentic Indian cuisine like what you would find if you dined in India. I must say the Indian food in the UK is fake!

First time I have ordered from the House of Spice. Food was fabulous, very fresh and reasonable price. Definitely I will order again.

Not sure why there are negative reviews, delivery has always been quick for me and the food is incredible. My go to takeaway every time.

Took over 2 hours to deliver my food last night, an hour longer than they quoted. No apology, no offer of a refund. And then we found they had missed one of the 2 main dishes we ordered. Complained to hungry house who gave me compensation, HungryHouse then explained that House of Spice refused any refund and just said 'we were busy'. They are probably the rudest people I've ever dealt with. The food was actually quite nice, lots of oil though. Will never use them again. Disgusted

Took two hours for food to arrive, half the order was missing and one of the curry's had leaked all inside the bag. Won't be ordering again!

I have order food it was good and delivery bit late. They took 50miniute to deliver the food. Over all I like their new dish called Roshoni Mirch.

Tried this place out for a Saturday night in, was pleasantly surprised by the tikka starter. It was hot and tasty and contained a lot of flavour. The delivery man was very polite and pleasant and overall I really enjoyed my main dish which was a chettinad curry. The food was packed very carefully and was delivered to my house efficiently. Overall I would re order for this takeaway.

Poor quality rubbish and a bad overall experience. The portions were extremely small, and the quality low. The curry was bland, full of oil and the pieces of meat were tiny. We were only given one mint sauce for the entire order, the poppadoms were soft, rice dry, and the naan leathery. The food arrived on time, but was only lukewarm and not hot. You can do a lot better elsewhere for the same money. I won't be going back here again.
