Excellent food & lots of it, first class service, best curry house around

I came here with my son a few days ago. I turned my back to look at the menu fir 5 seconds, and the owner, Hugo, shot my son in the head. I was quite displeased at this customer service. Banging chips though.

First time bought food from Saffaron and it is last one as we requested to make Asian style no sugar but they made chicken tikka like dessert that much sugar,biryani they put food colour in boiled rice no species no salt nothing i re-cook at home,shami kebabs made from old meat as we have tried to eat but so disgusting

Has become Saffron and address only had a take out but OK. Beer was Draught not too expensive. food not the usual.has special offers cheaper than I expected.

We turned up unannounced, it was Tuesday and a slow night for them, they found us a table and I expected to see the same dishes as most other Indian restaurants on the menu; I was surprised to find something new and it was one of the nicest dishes I've eaten in an Indian restaurant.

Unfortunately the food was like warm on delivery and got cold very quickly. It wasn't the usual heat I'd expect from a takeaway. Such a shame as we regularly visit the restaurant but this was the first time ordering a takeaway with them.

Funny I just saw the same review from someone else..... I also go told that my food was so late because I ordered from just eat, absolute joke , he tried blaming me because I order through a service they signed up too 😂... and I also ordered next time over the phone (as they asked) and they got my order wrong lol

We got to the restaurant and was told they didn't have any tables! Although we booked a table for 8pm!! We was told to wait out side for 5 minutes - the waiter then moved people around in the restaurant to sit us. Another group of around 5 walked in - and then they was seated at the table he had just cleared for us!!! We then walked back in the restaurant to be told he couldn't fit us in - especially after driving 12 miles to get there, I was totally disgusted!! No alternative/ good will offered, didn't offer us a drink for the inconvenience or offer a take away. Especially trying to find another restaurant which could accommodate us that time on a Saturday without booking a table. We went to Rajasthan where staff are polite and cannot do enough for you - food is excellent too! No card payment accepted either with taste card - SOMETHING DODGY GOING ON THERE!! Please avoid this place!!

We called the restaurant after around an hour or so to enquire about where the food was and the guy on the phone had an awful attitude, telling us it wasn't his problem and if you order through just-eat your order is of a lower priority! What is the point of them signing up to just-eat if they hate it so much and resent customers ordering through it? We regularly order from the Bay of Bengal or Red Spinach, as do many of our family who live locally. Safe to say we won't be ordering from them again. Their attitude to customer service stinks. If you want decent food delivered within a reasonable time (and hot!) I'd stick to red spinach.

Was within the time they said, food was still hot, good sized portions and still great quality. 3rd time ordered all have been perfect.. Hope this helps.

Veg bhuna was fine but nothing special, collection was quick and easy. This restaurant has good hygeine ratings unlike other restaurants in the area which is why I ordered from here.

We tried here as our usual 'Masala'/'Spice Lounge' was shut and I have to say we have had better quality meals and more pleasurable surroundings in the local area. It was not overly busy and the service was very good and friendly but the overall quality of food and décor was just about average. The poppadum's were not very crisp and the Chicken Tikka main I has was a tad bland. The Onion bajis tasted as though they had not been cooked from fresh, but just warmed up in the fryer. My fiancé had a really good main meal which was very tasty and lived up to the waiters recommendations (although I can not recall what the dish was called). I am willing to try this restaurant again as the Sunday buffet detailed on the menu sounds nice and very reasonably priced. Hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised when we go back.

Absolutely amazing find and a brilliantly run restaurant. The staff are extremely helpful and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble throughout your meal. Any dish you want they will make for you. The food is some of the best I have tasted in any Indian restaurant. We used our tastecard but the value for money at standard prices is brilliant as it is. We will definitely be making regular visits again to the Bay Of Bengal!

We booked the takeaway 19:30 but it turned up at 18:40 even though the meal was lovely we were not really ready for it.

Well where to begin - I read people's reviews and thought sounds great, walked in and was a little taken back thinking I was in someone's living room. The chairs where so old and unsteady and the tables where tiny. Sat down and ordered a drink which came out flat, ordered a poppadom which credit where it's due was fresh and crispy. We ordered our food the plates arrived and they where dirty, the cutlery was dirty too. The mains came out and I was expecting some kick to it and it was bland, the rice was greasy. The onion bhajee was very nice. I had to ask where the breads that we ordered where I think they must have just been sat there waiting. We waited 30 minutes for the bill after asking 3 times. I won't be going back to this place unless it has a makeover and reinvention of the food

We regularly order from Bay of Bengal and always find the food delicious and delivery fast. Definitely the best curry we've found in the area.

I don't often do Indian restaurants, the staff were extremely helpful asked questions and recommend dishes, all of which were mmmmmmm, I'm still licking my lips. I will definitely be going back for more, I'm converted.

This is my local Indian restaurant, me and my family have been buying takeaways from them for years. The food is delicious and cannot fault it. When I decide to go out for an Indian is the the first and only restaurant I think of. The staff are lovely, so kind and willing to explain what the dishes are and what they would recommend. The food can take time to come out but they are a very small restaurant, who are extremely popular and are cooking all the restaurant and take away food at once. That said, I cannot complain as the food is always delicious and comes out piping hot. They are very accommodating of bookings. We once booked for 3 families so there was 13 of us, and they made room for us. Our food came out efficiently too. After some of our meals out we have been offered a complimentary coffee or alcoholic drink. Staff are so friendly and chatty, which gives it a great atmosphere, cannot find a fault.

Having not had an indian takeaway for several months, we decided to treat ourselves,and what a treat it was! The food was fantastic. Not swimming in oil like some are and still hot when delivered by the polite and friendly driver. Would definitely recommend and really glad we decided to go back here!

Short and Sweet, best Indian I have had in a long time, nice little family run Bussiness, I recommend Bay of Bengal to anyone that loves Curries.

Really enjoyed my meal, couldn't find a fault. Hope to order from them again sometime in the future.

We moved in to the area in May and had a few dud curries, then I tried this place and won't go anywhere else. Absolutely delish.

Far too much salt and veg curry was mainly potato in sauce

Great food everytime I have been here. The fact it's fresh and cooked to order, cannot fault it in anyway. Always busy, Tuesday is the night they have an offer and so cheap for what you get £9.99 for starter, main, side dish, rice and naan. The owner Ali walks around to introduce himself and sees to everyone in the restaurant. Highly recommended, (which isn't often).

You know that feeling that you should've just walked straight out as soon as you walked in? Thats what i had when i entered this joke of a restaurant. The waiters were NOT welcoming. I was very hungry so i wasn't in the mood to look for something else despite my "gut" feeling. Took about 5 minutes to be seated and i wasn't approached by a waiter despite trying to get their attention a number of times. Ok so I've ordered my food and guess what? yep that took a life time to arrive as well. I wish i could say that the service was the worst thing about that night. The food was worse. The chicken was very stingy and the gravy was clearly watered down. If my friends meals weren't at least half decent i wouldn't have paid and walked out. I would definitely recommend this - if you're desperate for a terrible night.

We have all read " one of the best meals I've ever had in a restaurant" but this was.It was my first time ordering from this place as my friend recommended it and i was pleasantly surprised the chicken biryani was delicious. and the chicken jalfrazy was one of the best ive tasted so far also i got a portion of pakora for free thankyou guys.

I was recommend by my friends to try this little Indian on Sherwood Park Avenue as I have just moved here to SIDCUP. The food was brilliant, Ali the owner recommend the house special Joypur Lamb, it was one on the best dishes I have ever had.Can not wait to go back with my friends.

Only a small restaurant but the food is wonderful. Whenever I get visitors, they always ask, "Can we go to the BAY", that is how good the food is. Go early in the week to avoid overcrowding, if you like Indian, you will not be disappointed.

Food was nice and hot however arrived 80 minutes late, rang the resturant after 60 minutes, no explanation or apology.

Had a great curry tonight. Food was delivered quickly and was piping hot. My chicken tikka biryani was superb full of chicken and tasted great. Sag Aloo and vegetable were also just as good full of flavour and not swimming in ghee. Will be using again very soon.

Excellent food. Delivered bang on time. I've been looking for a good takeaway for a long time.This is undoubtebly the best takeaway meal I've eaten. The Bhuna, which is one of my favourite dishes was extremly authentic and delicious. I will always order from here in the future. Highly recommended. Tom

First time ordering from the Bay of Bengal recomended by a lot of my friends who always go there, saying it is the best Indian Restaurant around here, I was very impressed with the delicious food, friendly service and on top of all that the price was affordable. So glad that I use the Bay of Bengal, will definitely be ordering from them again. "MY FAVOURITE INDIAN SO FAR"
