Been to this resturaunt loads of times before… Order a chicken dish late into the evening( before last orders). Take away this time…..Wow chicken was like rubber!!!! Phoned to complain, was offed a curry next time!!!! So so disappointed…. Toast it was in the end!!

I regret ordering from Jalsha Tandoori. From start to finish, it was an awful experience. The food arrived ice cold, which is unacceptable for any restaurant, especially one that specialises in Indian cuisine. I had high hopes, but the meal was a complete letdown.The poppadoms were a joke—soft and stale, tasting as though they’d been sitting around for days. They completely lacked the freshness and crunch that are essential for enjoyment.Now, let’s talk about the packaging, or lack thereof. The foil containers were shockingly poor quality. When I opened the bags, I was greeted by a disaster: the lids had caved in, and everything had spilled out. The curry leaked everywhere, contaminating the rice and poppadoms, making the entire meal unappetising. It was a messy chaos that looked like it had come from a bad takeaway experience, not a reputable restaurant.I spent £69 expecting a decent meal, and instead received an unappetising, chaotic disaster. This was my first and last experience with Jalsha Tandoori. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone—save your money and find a restaurant that values quality and customer satisfaction.

Unfortunately for me, having had dinner last night at 20:00 I suffered food poisoning in the early hours and have had to go endure all the symptoms. First and last time here. It was either the yoghurt dressing with the chutneys or the matar paneer. Really disappointed as the reviews seemed above average.

Ordered on uber for delivery- every single dish was squashed and spilled, and Chapati missing. Photos were sent to Uber, showing the mess that was delivered. Tasted awful too- the lamb bhuna was terrible. Nearly £50 in the bin sadly.

Very tasty food (much better than the Indian restaurant nearby) & the waiters were very nice each time. Chicken Vindaloo, Chicken Dansak, Chicken Jalfrezi, Chicken Tikka Masala, the Special Fried rice and the Naan - all very good.

I have been a customer at this curry house for many years and it’s definitely my favorite in the area. There’s plenty of space in the restaurant, the service is always great and the food is always delicious. This place is definitely worth a visit

...was our first time eating in here, it seemed busy for a wednesday evening (probably due to the cheap banqueting menu) - but the food was a bit bland in flavour ...the indian restaurant just a few minutes down the road had better food with richer aroma - so will probably stick to that place next time!

Half my order didn't turn up. I politely asked for it several times but with no result. I spoke to the manager who told me to sit down and he would sort it out. I was fobbed off. Nothing happened. I complained to him and we ended up shouting at each other. I never got my food. It was very busy that evening but the attitude of staff was incredibly dismissive. I cannot recommend such a place given its poor service and outright rudeness.

We went to this restaurant first time,the food is outstanding,prices is very reasonable,lots of choices,me and my friend were ordered one chicken and one fish dish,it was delicious.Service was excellent and very friendly.we will definitely back again.and again. Thank you all

Thank you, thank you once again for a fantastic (2nd sitting) for New Year’s Eve. It’s definitely the place to be in Sidcup to celebrate. George Michael was brilliant and all the Jalsha family are so kind and work extremely hard. The whole restaurant was rocking and I had the best time!!!!!!

First time getting a delivery not disappointed as just st as good as eating at the restaurant

Very poor. We went to the restaurant to collect our curry. Upon returning they'd missed two items from our order. They asked us to go back to the restaurant to collect them, we refused and they delivered. They asked for us to pay for the missing items when they arrived, we refused and were given our missing items. All the meat was incredibly tough and dry. Sauces were very simple and bland. Lacking a fresh flavour. Edit: The restaurant has since contacted me to ask to remove this review. A very unfriendly restaurant avoid at all costs.

Honestly could not fault the food! Absolutely delicious

Out favourite Sunday lunchtime restaurant. The fixed-price four course menu is excellent value at £13.95 per head. Drinks are extra, naturally, but very reasonably priced. We are there most Sundays, and are always very well looked-after by the waiting staff.

Wednesday Banquet Menu is good value.

Staff member knocked on my door with food and told me not to.order from Jalsha again because their mileage limit is 3 miles and I live 4.miles away. I pointed out that we always order from Sidcup but he made it clear our custom was no longer wanted and we need to order nearer to our home. What baffles me is that Jalsha didnt have to accept my order yet they did. There is also no mention of a milegage limit and Im sure if there was Jalsha would not come up on a search! Also this member of staff was frankly rude and the whole situation made us not actually enjoy our food. SO DONT WORRY JALSHA WE WONT ORDER FROM YOU AND WE WILL MAKE SURE OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS DONT EITHER.

Staff are brilliant restaurant was clean and the food was superb i would recommend this restaurant you won’t be disappointed

Good food, but didn't like the buriyani

Nice meal with my brother and family while we were visiting London. Bit more spice for me would have rated a 5 star but saying that the food was lovely the staff were friendly and the beer was cold. Well done all. 😁👍

My daughters who have eating disorders and very small appetites, asked to share a sunday banquet meal. There were 4 others ordering banquets each at the same table. The Jalsha would not allow 1 meal between 2 of them. This does not help their mental health issues.

I ate here last night. Me and my son’s father-in-law both ordered the Punjabi fish cakes, they were very disappointing, filled with a tasteless mush, looked and tasted like they’d come out of a box of frozen fish cakes from a supermarket , certainly didn’t appear to be homemade. My dhansak was also too sweet, parts of it tasted like sugar. I didn’t complain to the restaurant last night as the guests I was with didn’t want me to. I will not be returning. It’s a shame as it was a treat from my son and new daughter-in-law.

We had a wonderful evening in this restaurant. Shown to a table as soon as we arrived, drinks order taken straight away and brought popadoms while we looked at the menu, staff were friendly and efficient, but not at all rushed, it felt very relaxed. Chicken kalisha, chicken dhansak, bhindi bhaji, peshwari naan all delicious and to be recommended! Great family atmosphere, decent price, amazing value, would come again in a heartbeat. Thank you.

We go to this restaurant twice a month. Always good food and friendly service. The banquet night is always a good night out and the tribute nights once a month are fun.

The food was packaged well for a delivery tasted very nice and when I received the food was nice and hot I was able to eat the curry and rice straight away. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Looked on my just eat app, stating enjoy your meal! Went to the front door nothing order, Rang the restaurant the man was so instinctive that he rang me but my mobile never rang he was so rude kept repeating mam and that the driver rang the front door many time which I would have heard. Asked if they can deliver the food I ordered and was told I was to far from Sidcup. So rude would not be using them ever!!!

Went to the place today and whilst the service was good, the food was not. The lamb and the chicken sheek kebabs were clearly premade frozen as were the samosas. The prawn puri was literally prawns taken out of a pack and then placed in sauce and heated in a microwave. The chicken in the Rogan Josh was poor quality and it felt like the chicken was bought in pre cooked and then added to a premade sauce. I get the feeling they don't have enough tandoori ovens to cook fresh given how big the place is. The peshwari nan was nice but should have had some ghee melted on it.

I was probaly biased by being in good company and drinking two pints of Cobra but I really enjoyed my Chicken Tikka Biriani and vegetable curry.

Unprofessional! Absolutely unreal behaviour by the staff! Cleaning cutlery in the restaurant for 40 minutes and smashing it loudly back in the tray which give us major headache! We have then waited 20 min to get our table cleaned and no bill! So we had to get up and go to the bar to pay! Nobody knew what are bill was! There was no apology for wasting our time! We visit this restaurant 3 times a month, but this is just too much! After we’ve paid, there was no thank you have good evening nothing! If you don’t know how to behave in hospitality business don’t bother working in it as you are making customer miserable!

Poor service, food not great, and too expensive

My family have been coming to the Jalsha for many years and always enjoyed the experience. Sadly we haven’t returned, as a few months ago we arrived for dinner and as we walked in there was an elderly lady who was vomiting into a plastic bag. She was in the entrance area near the car park which was in full view of all the diners and walk ins. We understand that the poor lady was ill...however no attempt was made to usher her to the ladies toilets or out of sight of the diners. We did stay and have a meal , but We were put off trying to eat and enjoy our food. Sadly in-view of this incident we feel we are unable to return.

Been going here for years and it’s still the best curry house around in my eyes. The service is always good and the food is always nice and tasty. The prices have gone up a bit lately but that seems to be happening everywhere

Not the best place I've been, food was pretty bland place was cold, and the service was a bit slow with servers leaning over you when serving !! Would I recommend it? BIG no tbh. Update We ate in My meal consisted off Onion bhaji for starter (perfect) Lambchop (cheap poor quality all bone chops very greasy and bland) Garlick rice ( no garlic ! No seasoning greasy and very bland) Saag bhaji (no garlic ! No seasoning bland slop) Naan Peshawar (really good) Garlic naan ( plain nanny with butter herb and shake over dried garlic) So my meal consisted of Onion bhaji and a Peshawar naan that was acceptable. Oh the Irish coffee was shyte Not even real cream (they said single ) but I think foamed milk. Overall Poor quality ingredients and tasteless. I didn't want to complain as I was a guest of a customer that highly recommended this place. She commented that this was the worst experience she had had here.

I have been here a few times and the food and service is very hit and miss. The place is too big and has an odd aroma about it. I will probably not visit again as there are better Indian restaurants in the area

It's still a bit too big for my liking. So it can get a bit noisy if there are many customers. My Jalfriezi was mainly a red juice, so not happy with that option. Hence food gets 2 stars only.

Food very disappointing, had squid starter limp lettuce a slither of tomato and squid in soft batter. Chicken tikka masala sauce was awful and four pieces of chicken. Reasonable price saved the day. Decor is seriously out of date needs a good paint job, and cheap plastic flowers on table not good 🥴

We have had several takeaways now from Jalsha2 in Barnehurst which is part of the same company. The food has been delicious and of high quality, delivered promptly. It’s great value for money and a good menu, order by phone or online. We won’t order from anywhere else now!

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening here. The food was delicious. We went on a Monday evening so it was understandably quiet. That suited us, however, as we are still trying to socially distance when possible. Will definitely return.

If there is anything to complain about then it would be the chicken is very, very sightly tough to cut but easy to chew. Otherwise absolutely spot on.

I have to say the food here was really bad! The chicken was hard and dried out! The naan are awful the worst I have come across! Shame this used to a very good Indian restaurant! Looks like profit over quality!

Ordered a mixed grill and the lamb on the plate consisted of two pieces of lamb shish and a lamb chop. The shish was so tough and the lamb chop was inedible. I left the chop on another plate and tried cutting the meat in front of the waiter, who basically said ok! The waiters were not very attentive either, so unfortunately I doubt very much I will be returning.

There was obviously serious issue with organisation in the kitchen. Took an hour for starter to come. As we complained, they then tried to bring starter and main course together. Ended up having to order 2 bottles of wine, due to wait. What was meant to be a pleasant relaxing meal, turned out to be very stressful. We’ve been customers for over 20 years.

I ordered Bombay chicken ,the egg tasted and smelt like fish ,the chicken was tough,I told the waiter and he said I can give you another dish but the smell of that egg made me not want to eat anything,he could have taken the price of the dish of the bill or offered me a drink but no, I won’t be going back there

Booked a table for a Friday evening, food was lovely but one member of staff was extremely rude. When I asked if one of the dishes contained nuts because I have an allergy, he said no then yes and started arguing with me. Not once...

I went for the Micheal Jackson tribute night. There was a set menu. MJ was good. The food was terrible I didnt eat it. Didnt taste like decent indian food at all

I am a regular customer of Jalsha. I am sorry to write this review. Literally, there were just 3 small meat pieces in the biryani. The rest of the biryani is filled with rice.

Terrible oily curry that had no heat and when we said we didn't like it the response was "other people do so deal with it". Very patronising staff who seem to think no one understands what a good curry should taste like when you have complete knowledge and it's just not good.

Eat in or takeaway.. either way you are in for good food, that is of good value, portions and flavours. Tried quite a lot of the menu.. and I’d happily try more. Nice dine in option, and delivery is always within a good time frame.

Had a very good meal here with a friend recently. The place is a bit of a tardis inside. Excellent service and reasonably priced.

Mother's day meal. £14.95 per head. Food was good if a little on the small portion side. It was however a set menu. Staff were friendly and attentive and very helpful. I would say the air con needing turning down a bit as we were quite cold. All in all a pleasant meal.

Visited as part of a large family group on a Saturday night. The staff simply couldn’t cope and the service was appalling. When the food did arrive it was mediocre at best.
