Spice of India in Bexley

First time ordering from here . They forgot a dish I orderd and said I’ll give you it next time you order . Not impressed . Won’t order again .

This is not an Indian restaurant: yes classed as Indian but being an Indian myself, I can tell the difference. Sorry but the food was awful. The Chicken was a bit funny and the chutneys are meant to be green not yellow. The onion bhajis were drenched in oil! I’m not one to waste food but most went in the bin. Oh and the food was cold so, I will not be back! What’s misleading is that they explain the type of cuisine north india makes and unfortunately those who know Indian food, they know. Thank you but no thank you.

Did not receive what I ordered

Main dish —tandoori chicken tasted off. Like it was expired. The colouring and sauce covered up a lot but certain bits inside looked like they were not cooked properly

Lovely curry as usual from Soice of India. Chicken Patia was so tender and their onion bhajis are the best I've tasted and I've been eating curry since the early 60's.

Have taken out and eaten in, both just as good. Many dishes tried and all were spot on.

It is like homemade indian food, amazing, finger licking good. If you wish to have Indian taste dinner in England, do not hesitate to come or order, if you have complaints then you have something wrong with you, this food is the most flavour and tender. Will travel to visit again!

We were little disappointed this time with our regular delivery restaurant otherwise usually happy for their food and service. We ordered food at 18:12 for it to be delivered at 19:30 so they get time to cook & deliver on time just in case they are busy today being Sunday. However we were bit disappointed as delivery was made 30 minutes late and that too with one incorrect dish, brinjal bhaji instead of bhindi bhaji.

Really tasty, fresh curry. Great sized portions, family were very satisfied. Delivery guy was also really nice and polite. Would definitely recommend

Food was delicious But would have been better if the delivery driver had not commented that next time I should order earlier in the day. If the restaurant doesn't want to deliver late in the evening please change your hours of operation or at least tell your delivery drivers to keep their comments to themselves.

Tandoori Chicken tikka was more like eating tomato puree with chicken - no spice at all - bland - menu states hot - must be referring to the food temp. 3rd time of ordering but this is the last - dansak had no kick to it either.

Great food, never been disappointed

Arrived 1 hour and 45 minutes after ordering. Food was watery and tasteless. We order from spice of India 1-2 times a month and have never had it so bad but more recently it seems to be an ongoing issue. Was too frightened to call and complain as they would have just offered another curry which would have taken the same time to arrive and at 33 weeks pregnant I was too hungry and tired at that point. Very disappointing after spending £36. Maybe Spice King opening will be our new Indian takeaway.

Only negative is I was made to wait for 40 minutes to collect my order. But to be fair, it was Xmas eve and they were fully booked...

Ordered a delivery. Sag aloo was amazing and the rest of the order was nice, can't complain about the quality of the food. However as soon as I opened the door the delivery driver, who seemed to be closely affiliated to the restaurant immediately began to berate me for ordering too late, I was surprised by how rude he was. My suggestion to the restaurant would be to decline orders if it's past when they choose to operate.

This place has the worst staff. Anti white people. As a white person I speak there language and racism is on the menu

Visited as a wheelchair user with 5 friends last wedensday, which is banquet night. Everything was excellent attentive staff, great food and so helpful to me as a wheelchair user. Now our go to Indian in the area. Amazing value for money

No food delivered will contact police first thing as cash tsken and called restaurant and they did not answer. ?

We went here yesterday as we order from here at home but thought we would go and sit in to eat well I will never be going back here or ordering again from them very bloody rude made us feel awful infront of everyone disappointed there food wasn't nice this time when you get s**t staff it let's it all down that's without letting under age people drink

This is the worst Indian takeaway we’ve had my food was devoid of taste no spices purely bland we’ve hardly eaten anything onion bhajies we’re overdone the food is here for them to collect we need a full refund.

Very disappointed - have eaten in and it has been a reasonably good dining experience, but our first experience of a delivery has left a very bad taste in the mouth - one dish was missing, and apart from the starters the remainder of the meal was - let’s just say - awful. Shame really.

Food wasn’t great tonight. First time ever to complains and a bit disappointed Lamb tikka over cooked and masala boring no spice. Shame as we love this restaurant.

Ordered aloo Chaat, which looked more like an aloo bhaji. EXTREMELY OILY and disappointing for someone looking forward to having a CHAAT. The cauliflower bhaji was also EXTREMELY OILY and the chapatis were way too thick and not fully cooked either. They weighed too much and were and were too big and thick. All in all, the food is flavourful but the oil can be reduced drastically and it would be wise for the chef to learn how to make a chapati.

I’ve had a few deliveries from here, and it’s always late, but I could live with that because the food had been good. However, this time it was so late. It was meant to arrive between 5.35 & 5.55 but didn’t turn up until 6.20! It was cold, the popadoms were stale and the onion bhaji’s were rock hard and dry. Never again will I be ordering from here

Fabulous food as always. Such friendly staff and great service. We went with our 2 year old and the staff made a point of saying hello to him and talking to him when we ordered.

I haven’t been able to cook so I ordered off of Just Eat yesterday and I was so upset with what I got. Lamb Saag is my comfort food and I got a bad version of it from another restaurant. Just Eat provided me with a voucher so I tried again today and Spice of India did not disappoint. Exactly the way it should be without a greasy mess. Very good quality food!

I’m consistently impressed how the team at this restaurant turn out such amazing service and food At all stages of the order through to the delivery is great, they never fail to deliver ahead of the advised time, the delivery team always go above and beyond and are professional and always have a chat and always how the family are! We travel from Dartford to come here. Never disappointed. Friendly staff. Never had any complaints about food always hits the curry spot.

Chicken madras was quite watery and didn’t stand out at all. Sundries we’re fine. Delivery was on time. Had better overall.

Very poor service restaurant tried 3 times to get hold of driver food was tepid and the cucumber yogurt mint dip far too runny delivery driver not polite didn't say sorry for lateness

Called restaurant and cancelled order as too long food eventually turned up returned to restaurant they were not happy at all. First time let down but badly let down. No apology just told to get refund via just eat which more time and hassle. Shame let down by restaurant & just eat. Cheese on toast for dinner,

Delivered almost exactly in the middle of the advised time-slot, piping hot and with a free bottle of Diet Coke (an unexpected bonus). The food was some of the best we have ever tasted, cooked to perfection and not swimming in oil. The poppadums were hot, crispy and intact - we received five rather than the four ordered, so another bonus. Absolutely delicious. If I could give more than six stars, I would!

Ordered takeaway from here for the first time. It was delivered on time and was piping hot. Good portions and the food was very good. This will now be my “go to” Indian takeaway In the Bexley area, and I’ve tried quite a few! Recommended. 👍🏼

Absolutely the worst curry I have had in a while. We normally order from here but this is definitely the last time. The aubergine side tasted like old oil with no other flavour, the meat in each dish was cold, we order a chilli chicken which had no flavour, the tika masala was gross with no spices and looked orange. Everything tasted watered down and we got complementary stale poppadoms that tasted like old oil. I feel like all my food was old with slimy vegetables. I don't understand how an Indian takeaway company can feel that this is okay to give to people to eat. I'm am annoyed as I was treating my mum to a meal. I would not recommend this to anyone and will not be ordering from here again.

When you arrive at the Spice of India, you receive a lovely welcome. The staff are just great. Very friendly and provide an extremely efficient service. The food is just gorgeous and never fails.

What a shame. Greasy inedible even the foxes wouldn’t eat it.
