Maharani in Bexley

Lamb is chewy and smells so bad. Rice is dry and the texture is like they just poured dry seasoning on top of the already cooked rice, so it’s got a sandy texture. Not sure what the hell they added to the sauce to make it bright green. Naan was trash. This is worst than McDonald’s level Indian food. Maybe chef had a bad day. But this was terrible and I’m probably going to get food poisoning.

Lovely Indian whose food is constantly to a high standard either eat in or take away. Waiters are friendly and attentive and nothing is too much trouble. Some really nice specials worth trying as well.

Take away, Madras was mild, requested little oil in the Madras, unfortunately request ignored. Will not use again.

Disappointed with food! Have been ordering for years, some days ok, some days bad, now everyday is bad. Food missing, food burnt, never consistent. Main meals are watered down, food just not to good standard, always go back and always a disappointment with most thrown in bin! Sorry time to move to a new Indian for us

Great food, fantastic taste and flavouring. Staff members are very friendly, polite and are quick to remember not to call me "ma'am/madam/ms/miss" given they deal with many customers in restaurant and online orders! They were so supportive during a minor verbal "disagreement" between myself and another customer. Special shout out to Mohammad! My go to restaurant for Indian cuisine! Amazing food and amazing service!

We've tried pretty much every local Indian restaurant, but not the Maharani until last night. It was lovely! The staff were friendly helpful and efficient which is never easy in a packed restaurant, but it was the food that really blew us away. From the dips that arrived with the poppadoms that were unusually tasty and different from the standard ones you find, through the lovely breads, vegetable side dishes and our king prawn mains (which had more king prawns than the paltry amount you get in many of the local Indians), everything was tasty, perfectly spiced and thankfully not swimming in grease. Absolutely lovely, give them a try!

When we first arrived a few people in but not to bad sadly has tables so close could here the ladies on the next tables conversation has the time went on restaurant got fuller noise levels got higher. Food could have been better chicken slightly dry, to much sauce got to say the onion bhaji were good. Has for service food came out in dribs and drabs. To top it off we asked for our bill and waited so long we got up and got it ourselves.

We recently had dinner at Maharani and we left thoroughly impressed! Meticulous attention to detail was evident in every aspect, from the beautifully presented dishes to the attentive service. The food was exceptional, bursting with authentic flavors and fresh ingredients. The dishes were affordable and we are already looking forward to returning 👌

Went for my birthday and my daughters, food was good but the table we were next too was so loud and noisy you couldn't here yourself talk they didn't think about anyone else in the restaurant, not a good evening

APPARENTLY THE DELAY WAS DUE TO HEAVY TRAFFIC,WHICH CANNOT BE HELPED. The fish dish was definitely not to my liking and should not be on the menu. wRONG TYPE OF FISH. IT DEFINITELYWAS NOT A BENGAL TYPE FISH. I threw it in the bin, tasteless

The food was late so I phoned the restaurant. I could hear them shouting about where my order was & how it was going to be cold on arrival. The guy said it would be 2-3 mins, but it was 10 more mins. Most of it was cold, the naan had to be reheated & the passanda didn't taste great. I used to love Maharani but won't bother again. Back to Jalsha it is.

We went on Sunday evening, there was 3 of us. It was quite quiet as expected. Food was lovely, really full of flavours, not over expensive, service was good, we were well looked after.

Food was around 20 min late. But it was very tasty and still warm.

15 of us had a great evening here with good staff, good food and all was hot and order was accurate

I am always happy when I am there and friendly staff always treat us like Kings and Queens! I should not disclose this place to others and keep it as my personal secret! But honestly: Brick Lane is nad comparing to Maharani!:-)

The Best Indian Restaurant around. I've been coming here for the past 8 years, and the food just gets better and better each time !!! I have never been disappointed, always great customer service, very clean, outstanding restaurant, highly recommended

Very impressed with everything about the restaurant. The service was really good, attentive but not in your face. The food was also very good . I had the Bengal Fish curry which had just the right amount of heat to it. Prices are really good too, unlike some of its rivals in the High Street! Will definitely be visiting again.

Delicious. All the dishes had distinctly different flavours. The okra was still firm and not mooshy like you get in some currys. Definitely order from them again!

First visit to Maharani for my birthday. We were very impressed with the food and waiter service was very friendly and quick after ordering. It was very quiet when we were there so can't really rate the atmosphere, but would definitely go back again.

We have been coming here for years due to the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff. We have brought many people here, all of whom agree it’s the best place for Indian food. Would highly recommend!

Ordered for collection, and I was told it would be ready 15-20minutes later, which is great on a bank holiday weekend. I went to collect in less than 20 minutes, so I was very sad when I got home (2 minute drive) to find that the curry was luke warm and the naan was stone cold. Either they don't have an area to keep food warm after they cook it, or they premade it and forgot to heat it up properly - I suspect the latter as the naan was inside the usual foil pouch yet was totally cold. Compared to Ruchita, which is just down the road, this cost about 50% more for the same dishes, but the curry was bland and the naan bread is about two thirds the size, aside from being cold.

Terrible. Overpriced samosas only got 2 for £4.95 and they were def from frozen. Butter chicken smelled and tasted like it had parmesan cheese in it? Sent that back for a chicken tikka which tasted like dolmio tomato sauce. It’s like they’re trying to do some sort of italian indian fusion but it just flops. And to top it off the complimentary chocolate is just as bad as the meal.

Really tasty food, cooked well and came well packaged.

Been a couple of times this year and I cannot fault the food or the service. It's best to book a table as they are very busy especially at the weekend.

Second time we have eaten here, the food is nice, i found lack of communication by staff. Group of 13 i ordered the trout for both me and my husband, only one turned up and was told that was because that was the last one. I was then told we could order something else, why wasn't we told at the beginning. A friends rice that was ordered didn't turn up so when it did the mains had got cold, he ended up taking it all home. Can i suggest on large groups give the group a piece of paper and pen and get them to write down what the group want and break it up. You will then know what table has ordered what with no confusion. Apart from this hiccup the food we enjoyed and we will be back.

Very polite and courteous staff, everything that was ordered; the flavours were just amazing and fish curry was perfectly cooked. Great choice of wine and beer. I frequent in Indian restaurants and this one will be going to again

Just disappointed to have food missing, so all had to go in the oven while we waited for the rest if it. Restaurant were great and got the missing food to us quickly. The curry leaked out of the container and was all over the other food. I know it's a busy night but don't accept the order if it's not going to be up to the usual standard and quality you usually produce. Bombay potato was really bland and prawn purée was really greasy, just picked out the prawns. Could not fault the service just the food this time

My chicken sag was amazing, full of spinach and flavour! I wouldn't say it was medium-hot but it was really tasty so the lack of heat didn't spoil the dish. Rest of order was perfect and delivery was fast and handled with care, will order again!

Food was late. We had to collect it rather than it being delivered.

Called for delivery a 18.39 left on hold for 5 minutes while i hear them taking 3 other orders so i had to put the phone down to call the other number placed order finally told one hour and 30 minutes just call to find out were my order is at 20.34 they can't give a reason and ask us to then wait another 30 minutes what a joke first time ever ordering from these never again bad customer service rude putting the phone down on me .....worst place ever

Best Indian I’ve ever had. No doubt. Very friendly staff and excellent service. They have at least 8 chefs in the kitchen and 6-7 staff waiting tables, so it’s very well run restaurant. I’ll definitely be coming again. Delicious - Balti Jalfreezi, Lamb Kattamita, Lamb Roygan Josh, Onion Bhaji. Some minor adjustments/personal criticisms - Bombay potatoes could do with some more spice and flavour, more coconut with the pashwaari naan, more attention given to size of onions in the balti and the freshness of those onions (some had hard texture)

Food was beautifully hot. Enjoyed it. Tasty, loads there. Delivery was on time. Order all there aswell. I’d order again.

Takeaway was delivered on time. Food was warm, nicely packed, papadam not broken, no spillage. Chicken korai and Sag Aloo was nicely spiced, not too spicy or too flat- kids loved it. I would highly recommend Maharani . I will definitely order my food from there again.

Find these 1* ratings laughable…. Food here is really nice, not oily at all and arrived on time. Ordered from here a couple of times and will continue to do so. Service good too so can’t fault it. Having tried a number of places around Bexley and Sidcup area and this is definitely one of the best!

Never actually visited this time, though have before. The good is decent, and this is an OK restaurant. Rating reflects the website advising opening a time of 5pm, when it’s actually 5:30pm. Had to drag family onwards to find somewhere that was actually open after walking to it to find it was closed. Update your website please.

The website states 5pm opening, got there at 5:05pm, and it’s shut. Menu on the window states 5:30. Wouldn’t take much to align your communication. Hungry family had to walk on to somewhere else.

Good tasty food, onion bhaji`s could have been spicer and larger, poppadoms were all broken when arrived, food needed warming up as some turned up luke warm when its only 5 mins away, don`t know why maybe it sits around after being made waiting for a driver or they deliver 3 or more deliveries in 1 round trip and your the last, but as I said nice tasty food, will use again.

Ordered takeaway at 8:15 - expected at 9pm. Called at 9:40 and they said to expect it at 10. I think waiting nearly 2hours for a takeaway is unreasonable. Ruined the night if I’m honest. If too busy then don’t continue taking orders it’s that simple

Ambiance, service and decor are fine but the food unfortunately was disappointing. Many dishes were too sweet or not spicy enough. Prices very reasonable, menu far too extensive.

Had a fantastic meal here a few days ago. My first visit but definitely not the last. It was a last minute booking so had to wait a few minutes for our table to be prepared. But upon entering I was impressed with the elegant yet subtle decor. The restaurant was spotlessly clean,the waiters were attentive without being overbearing. The food was superb, we were a party of six, all ordering different dishes, and there wasn't much left at the end, surely a good sign! everybody thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Overall a very nice dining experience. Will be back soon.

The good was very tasty but arrived cold we had to microwave it and it was all spilt in the bag there was grease everywhere. Shame as normally they're good.
