Fantastic service, good quality fresh food, Sunday lunch was delicious: staff very helpful and friendly. Will definitely go again.

just had my 75th birthday sunday lunch at horseshoe inn . meal and prices excellent , all staff very friendly and professional even got a birthday candle with dessert . can highly recommend .

We booked for Sunday lunch with two dogs and have never been before. On arrival it was really busy and the barmaid asked us to wait where we were while she cleared a table for us. Whilst waiting, who I presume was the landlord, approached us and said “in the other room with dogs”. He was very rude and I nearly turned round and walked out. Good manners cost nothing and we were only waiting where we were told to wait. Anyway, we stayed and the food arrived quick and was lovely and great value for money, Service and food were both top notch but the shine was taken off by the landlord being rude and miserable.

The food was average but the service was pretty poor. We had Sunday lunches and to be fair the meet on them was good but the veg a bit of a let down. Cauliflower was underdone and boiled and roast potatoes together is a bit lazy. Where’s the mash? We weren’t asked if we’d like any sauces or if everything was okay at any point as we definitely wound have had more gravy. There just wasn’t enough. We weren’t offered a desert despite tables finishing after us actually getting theirs. We would have had some. We thought the price of their Sunday lunches was a steal but in reality, that’s all they are worth. You only get what you pay for.

We visited this Quaint little pub while on holiday in Filey, we called in on a Saturday night and was welcomed by the staff and we got seated with a nice table and the place was packed full of Hungry folk, the decor and layout of this pub was beautiful full of wood beams old horse and farm memorabilia, as for the food it was proper old style cooking and out of this world, My partner ordered the Cottage pie/veg ( which was enormous ) i ordered the 12 oz Gammon and i couldn't eat it all, everything about our meal was of the highest quality, no oven chips or soggy veg all home grown and fresh, with drinks and meals it was only £27.00 We both left with full bellies - The pub is a credit to it's staff and management and we highly recommend this place.

Visited recently when staying locally for a holiday. Decided to go here as read some positive reviews about it being a friendly pub who show sporting events. We were so disappointed- the older lady behind the bar was not very friendly and it felt like we were an inconvenience to her. When we went in we were moved from the original seats , but then when we weren't ordering enough food we were told we would need to move again to the 'dog area or outside' as the seats were needed for people who were basically spending more money than us. To go to the bar later and then see the seats we were not allowed to sit in were then been used by locals who only had drinks and not a plate of food in sight was then very annoying! Seems like it's one rule for locals and one rule for visitors. Anyway after being drenched by the rain outside and £55 lighter we decided to leave with 2 disappointed children who had been promised a nice evening with food drinks and watching the football as a little treat on their weekend away. Felt so out of place and awkward the whole visit. On the plus side the food that we did eat was nice and the younger lady at the bar (Eve?Eva?) was very friendly and welcoming.

Went with our elderly inlaws for a Sunday lunch...First time eating here but it won't be the last. Excellent customer service by all the staff, friendly, approachable and helpful. Latte is soooo good (I don't drink alcohol...the others did) As for the roast dinner...the beef was a large thick slice...cooked to perfection and you could have cut it with a butter knife. Mother in law had pork and cleared her plate, she said the stuffing was tasty, only minor gripe was she didn't get crackling lol. All fresh produce, nicely cooked veg, home made yorkshire puddings, roasties to die for and a beautifully rich gravy. We usually share a pudding..nah, she ate it all herself...so father in law and I shared an apple crumble with fresh cream..none of that squirty cream rubbish...fresh slices of cooked apple, Excellent crumble...mmmmn. Would recommend this for a tasty Sunday lunch, but if I do there may not be a table free for us on our next visit😂 A huge thank you to all the staff at The Horse Shoe Inn.👏

We went in with our dog and were told rather abruptly by the woman behind the bar that you can’t sit in there. Moved to another room only to be moved again to another smaller room . In the meantime two locals came in with their dogs and sat in the room we’d been moved from . Come on . Is it one rule for one and one rule for another. Food wasn’t being served anyway and my dog is more used to being on something better than your crap £1.99 a meter carpet . Keep your place. We won’t be back.

sports room had been painted and we was made aware of that however we was told we were able to use it, 20 minutes after being sat in there we was ordered very rudely by one of the bar staff to leave and that we should’ve known not to be in there. Very rude and unprofessional seeing as she came into the building with a cigarette in her mouth mouthing at customers that had been told they were well in their rights

We were staying in the area to celebrate a family birthday and visited this pub twice. We booked a table for Sunday lunch and the service was exceptional. We had a few tables put together to accommodate our 11 adults and children plus 2 high chairs. The service was amazing and the food was gorgeous . Really recommend it.

My wife booked us in for two nights. We have dogs and it’s a dog friendly hotel. The owners and staff are brilliant. The go the extra mile to make sure your happy. Nothing is too much trouble. The food is really good. We ate last night in the restaurant it was very good. The breakfast this morning is one of the best I’ve ever had. This place is a little gem,out in the sticks in the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, 15 minutes into Whitby If your in the area and not staying come for the food

Staying in Hunmanby and can’t fault the pub we were made to feel welcome as were our 2dogs. We had Sunday lunch large portions and beautiful tender beef. There were 4 choices of meat or you could have mixture. Everything was perfectly cooked and piping hot . Fantastic value for money , highly recommend

We visited as a three generational family of six and have had a fantastic experience. We were greeted with a warm welcome and shown to our table which was neatly set; drinks orders were taken and delivered promptly. As Sunday diners, we were served a truly stunning two / three course meal (most of us were far too full for the third course) of traditional Sunday lunch fayre. Each meal was fresh, hot and extremely tasty. The portions were more than generous and there was no doubt as to the home cooked nature of it. Visiting in early December, the pub was decorated in charming Christmas style and the atmosphere was warm and friendly with excellent service throughout our visit. We would highly recommend and will certainly be returning in the near future.

Omg, I've never met a bloke so accomodating. We turned up for a meal but were told that they weren't serving food until later. We had a drink anyway but Dave (the kind gent behind the bar) rang round to see who was serving food. How kind. We walked to the other pub that was serving food (I won't mention their name) but left immediately as it wasn't a patch on the Horseshoe Inn. We returned, had a few more drinks and a lovely meal later on. We felt so welcome. Lovely food, great atmosphere. Thank you.

I had a brilliant meal and experience last night at this fantastic pub restaurant having read the reviews online. I dined in and was able to bring my dog and received a really kind welcome. A great atmosphere, exceptional food with a very varied menu. Huge portions, brilliant prices but the quality was fantastic. I will definitely return in future.

Delicious food and very reasonably priced. We had veg curry and meat pie and both enjoyed it very much. Ordered a couple if sausages for the dog and the landlord, very kindly, didn't charge us for them. Very cheerful and friendly man. Definitely recommend and will return ourselves. Cosy/friendly pub.

We visited for an early dinner 4pm Really warm welcome, friendly and efficient team Great homemade food, we had steak pie & chips and vegetable lasagne & garlic bread - both excellent and great value. Staying in Hunmanby for a weekend and visited the Horseshoe two nights running. Really friendly management and staff and lovely sports bar. Had the steak pie one night and it was exceptional. Will definitely be calling again when in the area.

This place is a hidden gem. I came here for my Sunday lunch today with my Mum n 2 children. The staff are nice and friendly. The food is absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced( 12.99 for 2 courses) I had the sunday roasts with mixed meats, that came with 3 lots of veg, roast n new potatoes and a Yorkshire pudding. I had a lovely sticky toffee pudding n ice cream for pudding. I will definitely eat ear again. Highly recommended. Thank you 😊

Visited The Horseshoe for Sunday Lunch after picking up their advertising flyer, and we were not disappointed. We received a warm and friendly welcome, prompt and attentive service followed by being served a lovely plate of hot home cooked food, and at a very sensible price these days and so making it one of, if not the the best Sunday lunches we have experienced in the area for a while. We shall return and we will be recommending The Horseshoe Inn, Hunmanby to our friends.

Visited here with 7 of us mixture of adults and kids, we did book in advance as was a Saturday night. Perfect meal from the start, good choice on menu, well stocked bar, and excellent service. This pub does proper pub food nothing too fancy but good portions of home cooked food. Will definitely return when next in the area.

Very poor food in a run down pub. Tired interior and poor service. Was looking forward to steak night on Wednesday , but only poor old rump available. Burghers poor with soggy buns and undercooked bacon. Son threw up a few hours later. Do yourself a favour and get scampi from the local coop instead.

My wife and I and our disabled daughter turned up without a booking this evening and the staff were especially helpful in assiting our every need. They found us a suitable table, altered their menu to suit our daughter and looked after us really well! My wife had a lovely Hot Pot and I had a very tasty beef madras. We will be going back there again, for sure!

Top pub, the management and staff have got this. Tables are cleaned when people leave and new beer mats and the table service is top draw.
