Horn and Trumpet in Worcester

This is such a lovely and welcoming pub! The staff are incredible and the chef was fantastic. We came in after a lovely morning around Worcester looking for traditional pub food and that’s exactly what we found. The 9 of us were seated very easily and the services was quick and simple. The pricing is very reasonable and I would most definitely recommend this pub to other! I will definitely be coming back again soon!

Very lively atmosphere with DJ Fridays and Saturdays. Licensees always have time for a chat and great deals on drinks. Showed Euros football and was a really safe atmosphere

Visited for breakfast whilst staying in Worcester. Very good location, close to the main shops. We had previously tried to come for dinner but food service stops in the afternoon. The breakfasts were very nice, quality sausage and bacon and crispy hash browns. No options to add mushrooms or black pudding but for the price fantastic value for money. Hot drinks were included but my husband really enjoyed his pint. Great service from our waitress Niamh, who was very attentive and lovely. She also gave us some good recommendations for restaurants and things to do with the kids as we aren’t too familiar with the area.

This is a lovely pub nice to sit and have a quiet drink with friends. It's very close to Worcester Foregate Street train station, so it's very convenient for the train station, but wouldn't like to visit this pub when it's really busy

The breakfast is to die for, great pub grub! Breakfast served until 15:00.. Great atmosphere on a Saturday evening, tables are moved to make a nice open dance floor!

Brilliant food and service from the bartenders, had a good conversation with them. they’re very friendly and the food was stunning, I got the hunters chicken and it was phenomenal.

Great pub, very friendly, happy staff behind the bar. We didn't eat but the menu was good and what meals we did see there was plenty on the plate and the prices were good. Ladies toilets were clean as was the rest of the pub. Will certainly return when next in Worcester. Thank you

One of our favourite pubs since moving to Worcester a year ago, and we drink here regularly on Saturday evenings. Always a friendly welcome from Sarah , Holly and other staff , with excellent quick service at the bar. Good atmosphere in the pub , owners and staff always make us feel welcome and our custom appreciated. The owners come out and chat to the customers. Drinks kept well and decent prices. Empty glasses cleared quickly. Customers are a good mix of age groups , and the dance floor is well used with a good mix of music being played . So glad we found this pub , and makes our Saturday nights!

It had been a long time since we visited and we loved it really great atmosphere, drinks and friendly & helpful staff.

So I'd like to write this negative review because the bouncer who works here has a personal issue with me and doesn't let me in despite us resolving it when he worked on the door at the cellar bar I tried talking to the owner who's words were I'm not going to undermined the door staff I mean you the owner of the place or a mouse? It's just pathetic now his issue is the fact way before lockdown I would get very drunk and out of hand and it never even happened in this venue so it honestly baffles me as to why I'm not allowed In its all just pathetic

Great little pub. Friendly bar staff, brilliant food! I had the biggest fish and chips I’d ever seen and it was so reasonably priced! We visited twice during our stay in Worcester and would definitely return again when we are in town!

Our first visit since recently moving to Worcester. Really welcoming and cheery barmaid at the bar serving us each time. Nice friendly atmosphere. We sat in the front quieter part and enjoyed the good music. Back part was really lively with a friendly atmosphere . Beer and cider kept exceptionally well. Tables kept cleared and cleaned. Toilets nice and clean at the time we visited. Will definitely be visiting again on our next night out in town.

Popped in today to the horn and trumpet for the first time with friends from Cheshire who were staying with me in the West Midlands. Must say the staff ( 2 girls behind the bar ) were excellent. We had a sandwich that came with chips and everything we had we rated highly. Clean tidy pub with excellent service and food , also the beer was good too. Men must pop in and check out the loo , entertaining. Spoke to the boss and told him how happy we were and suggested he give the staff a good rise 😁

Went to races 4th June, ended up in the Horn and Trumpet, top bar staff and great disco playing all the 80s stuff, great end to the night.

been to the horn and trumpet 2 times and every time i have had exelent service and a good breakfast.and they give you free tea or coffee. it is a realy big breakfast and they only charge you 6 pound , it is realy good value for money .

Popped in while on a day trip to the Victorian Christmas fair. A proper hidden gem, delicious food at great prices. We highly recommend the cowboy burger and the hunters chicken.

Have a few pre and post match beers, after been in town to see Worcester - Wasps. A great pub, full of rugby memorabilia, friendly staff and a good range of beers. We will be back next time we’re in town.

First time here and the last. I’ve just joined a law firm in Worcester and we called in with clients after the rugby. Totally ignored at the bar by the two staff on. Last straw was when the lady behind the bar served a couple who were walking up to the bar after we had been ignored for ages..Won’t be back.

This was my second visit to this pub. It's a great place for a lunch as they do a special lunch menu. Great value for money!

Whilst the quality of the breakfast was fair my main complaint is that although the menu clearly stated " free tea or coffee with any full English breakfast" I was charged for mine. When I queried this charge I was told it didn't apply today as it was the day of the fayre. In other words rip off and maximize profits from our visitors. The menu should have been withdrawn.

Smashed glass all over the floor and a manager who feels the need to bully people. Would not go here avoid at night. Brilliant staff and bouncers who care for the punters which is rare in modern day society. The manger is a woman who just randomly appears to take her frustrations out on the customers and accuse them of things they have not done. And when provided with photo evidence no apology was received just started to pick on another innocent party and eject this young lady who had done no wrong. Very strange set up. Avoid at all costs unless your an old person who is a regular. As a sober person watching what was happening and not knowing the parts involved it seems the manager enjoys the power trip. Better places to spend your money that are more enjoyable. 1

Great place for a good meal and good beers, the staff are very friendly and the service was first class, had the fish excellent portions with peas and chips could not fault it, would recommend the horn and trumpet to any one coming to Worcester who wants a good meal in a great friendly great location.

Went in here for lunch last week, wow what can I say it was simply amazing, would recommend this place any day was well cooked and even came out piping hot, really good value for money, it's a place not to be missed.

Omg where do I begin. This pub was vile. First I was served a lemonade and the post mix had gone so returned it and told the bar maid. Really she shouted and took a large mouthful and then said it tasted ok to her. Well I assured her it was not ok and asked for another one she was not happy but eventually swapped it. The food oh my the food it was revolting inedible frozen rubbish so I left it. We had no check backs so couldn't even comment to the staff. Anyway on the way out I asked for a receipt only to be shouted at why do you want a receipt I just repeated my request and she threw it at me. Another male bar man said if they are the mystery diners we are f****d. Well we weren't but I wish we had have been. Shocking place.

Even though I am Worcester born and bred, I had never been in this pub before! However I was very pleasantly surprised. The food prices are excellent - lunch for four of us was under £20 and very good quality!! Will definitely visit again on my next visit to Worcester.

We called in for a drink yesterday as we had half an hour to wait for our bus. I was with my husband and two children (aged 9 and 12). The front part of the pub was quite smelly but as it was only for a short time, it didn’t bother us.,

We have been to Worcester many times and made the mistake of always walking past this pub.. Always thought it was just a small place, but walking in it was like a tardis. Not only the nice cosy front part of the pub, but extends back a long way .

Had a marvellous time at The Horn and Trumpet Landlord reserved an area for 28 of Us and served meals for us All between the two games Food was Fabulous, good beer great sevice Would go again Thank You for an enjoyable Day

Had a meal in the Trumpet, as me and my wife often do, today i had my son with me. After the meal we went shopping, and less than an hour later popped back in.

Amazing pub this is . Just had an amazing English breakfast and we only had the standard you'd have to be so hungry person to have the large as the standard breakfast was more than ample and was absolutely delicious everything you wanted an English breakfast well done to the chef

The breakfast is amazing for the price. With a free hot drink to. It’s a good little boozer. With a good set of regulars. If you like your breakfast then in my opinion you will not find better in Worcester for the price

I visited here yesterday for the first time, I was with 2 teenagers. We were made to feel welcome immediately. Staff were friendly and the food was great. I would make this my local only I don’t live near it!

Cost around 7 pounds with a pint of coke and well worth the price pleasantly surprised how tasty it was and how fast it came after I ordered

Really good, freshly cooked breakfast at great value prices. Surprisingly big inside, (looks small from outside), and friendly, helpful service too. We will be back!

Visited the pub today for the first time. A,great atmosphere with many people enjoying the rugby match and Xmas market. We were five people visiting the pub.

The place is a joke ... on a very busy Saturday night there was a wet floor sign in the middle of the floor which I tripped over ... I picked it up to prevent anyone else from tripping over it and potentionally hurting themselves .. I raised the sign above my head as it was very busy and didn’t want anyone getting hurt and I was approached by a doorman who was verbally aggressive and snatched my drink off me and told me to leave .. before I had chance to respond I was being man handled out of the premises even tho I continually said I would leave on my own accord without being physically thrown out .. this resulted in many bruises up my arms and having verbal abuse .. the way this matter was dealt with was totally inappropriate and verged on assault ... I will be following this up with a complaint to the police and the SIA as if all doormen treat customers in this way it needs to stop ... this place didn’t care for its customers just the money going on their tolls and I will never go there again it’s disgusting

My husband &I; went in for brunch last thu I had a lovely breakfast & my husband had a snack we were both very happy with our food ,gentleman that served us was very nice ,lovely warm pub & other customers we got talking to were very friendly .

Era bastante tranquila, así que elija una mesa y pronto nos sirve. No tuvimos que esperar mucho tiempo para el desayuno y yo diría que recibes lo que pagas y a menos de 30 libras por cuatro y tres bebidas no estaba mal. El desayuno era muy básico, pero que tenía en su plato lo que necesitábamos. Tuvimos que pedir más leche para el té ya que solo me dieron dos pequeñas ollas de plástico. Hubo un momento que nos hicieron sentir incómodos, cuando un antiguo miembro del personal se acercó un cliente y le pedí a dejar porque él estaba usando su conexión Wi-fi y sólo había comprado un café. Me sentí si este necesitaba ser hecho entonces lo que debería haber sido más tranquilo, no siento el caballero tiene el pub no era exactamente arrastrándose con los clientes. El cliente no dejar después de llamar al miembro del personal de un fascista. No es realmente lo que quiere ver y oír cuando tienes un tranquilo desayuno.

Visited there yesterday was clean ,tidy looked busy as there a lot of mirrors there .didn't wait to long for food to arrive. Was presented nice looking .steak was little dry but ok was cheep meals but average nothing special realy .wheelchair friendly ,friendly staff.

I have been a customer in this bar many times i always have bottles of prosecco always been priced at £9.95 no different to any other time ive been in there last saturday was know different i was there with friends prosecco priced at £9.95 so later the same evening you can imagine my surprise to be asked for £14.95 i did say to the young bar man i thought he had made a mistake to which he shrugged his shoulders picked the bottle of prosecco up and walked off with it, i asked to talk to the manager who looked at me and looked away so twice more i tried to get his attention and he just kept ignoring me then a doorman approached me and asked me to leave i asked him why and his reply was well i dont really know i said you must be joking he replied with i dont know but tom wants you out i asked who tom was to be told he was the manager who was ignoring me a young man no older than 19 or 20 years old with jeans with the crutch down by his knees which really isnt a factor but not a good look i dont think if your a pub manager so i left so rude in there it was unbelievable then today i walked past there and saw this i just had 2 take a pic i think they thought i was tipsy and therefore they was making up the prices as they were going along an absolute disgrace the fact the manager couldnt even approach me said it all but as you can all see the price is £9.95 so ladies and gents watch out for scammers because clearly the horn and trumpet make up prices as they are going along and to question it you might get barred definitely wouldnt want to go in there again kids running the place.

we visited Worcester for a day out. we found the horn and trumpet. the staff was friendly and the meals came out quickly was hot and good size portion. the only problem we had was when we needed to use the toilet, they are situated near to the outside smoking area and you get the smell of people smoking outside from the smoking area as the doors to smoking area was left open but would visit again

Nice little boozer, my partner and I sometimes drop in while waiting for the bus, the station is across the road. Nice comfy lounge and great seating. They serve a nice pint as well.

A Wednesday lunchtime outing with friends and our normal hostelry wasn't serving food - catastrophe!We had been past the Horn & Trumpet many times and thought it a rather small establishment, but on entering found it was a large building going back quite some way from the entrance.The menu was the normal Marstons pub grub, but staff was friendly and food delivered to the table very quickly. Comfortable surroundings and hot food and cold beer - what more do you need?

For £3.95 you get a full English breakfast and a choice of hot drink I was a bit disappointed I didn't see fried bread but everything else was perfect for the price but please put fried bread on the extras menu I will gladly pay 75p for a piece of fried bread but for the money you cannot complain also a very nice pint

Stopped in with a mate for lunch and a drink.Both had a burger and chips which was good but I have had better chips in other pubs though.Food came very quickly.Couldn't finish it all.Would stop in again

Yes the food is cheap but we waited an 1 hr and 15 minutes for it.The 2 barmaids who were serving behind the bar were also serving food.Ridiculous.Wouldnt go again!

From the outside on the high street it doesn't look very nice my usual place was very busy so we went in here omg what a place it's huge inside cheap food which was superb drinks were cheap and the staff were so friendly and welcoming will not use any other pub for lunch when I go shopping and clean toilets disabled one too

This pub has its own great character qualities.... I've been coming to this place for about 7 years... met some great friends.. and every time you visit you see the same friendly faces... bar staff are friendly... I'd love to see a cocktail menu at some point soon :)

The Horn and Trumpet is a typical city/town pub. This is not the venue to romance the girl of your dreams. When we visited for a lunch, the general ambience was more like a 'men's' club (if they still exist). The staff are efficient but not particularly helpful, there is a reasonable menu and the prawn baguettes with salad and french fries we had were excellent, but the service was quite slow. In my view, this is not a venue for an evening meal, but it does offer excellent food for a lunch.

Popped in for brunch after a little shopping what a surprize we had the full english breakfast which consisted of 3 bacon, 2 sausage, 1fried egg, plumb tomatoes, baked beans & 2 pieces of toast. Which was all cooked beautifully and we had 2 cups of great tasting coffee which was all great value for money would highly recommend.

I was in with my hubby today. He had a jacket spud with salad & some kind of meaty thing & a coffee & I had a jacket spud with salad and cheese/beans with an orange juice.The food was delicious and well prepared and presented and the drinks were nice too.Nice atmosphere, reasonable prices & staff do an excellent job.

this pub has recently had a refurb, and it looks great. the service is great and the staff remember you. it has a pool table and BT sport so good to watch live football, rugby etc. the food is ok, only eat twice but the 'mega' breakfast is good value. would recomend this pub.

I know it's a while since I got a round to writing this review but I still can't brlieve how bad it was. On a shopping trip we were looking for a place to have lunch and we were unlucky enough to come here. The place looks like it could do with a deep clean. We did not notice at first but it soon become apparent. The food was dreadful people have said it's cheap but I would rather pay more and have edible food. The bar mans attitude was awful. The post mix had gone but he was having none of it saying that it has not well I assure you it had. So I asked for a replacement but he was not happy. And then I asked for a printed receipt and he asked me why I wanted one. It seems he thought at this stage I was a mystery customer god help him if I had have been because my score would have been nought. Never have I been to such a odd pub rude staff poor food grubby you would seem to think they don't like customers.

We called in here after battling the sales in town. It was quite quiet. Service was quick but the staff were quite sullen - not even a please or thank you! But a cheap round only £6.20 for two pints of Strongbow.We didn't eat but did see other people's food and it did look & smell nice!

Popped in for a drink because we thought there was a band on. It turned out to be Karaoke, local people singing. Had a great night

Here for breakfast (full English for £3) which was cheap and filling. Bit greasy, including the plates but two brekkie with coffee who can complain when under £10? Service was friendly and efficient so all good.

Great place.Great food.Great value.Great Service.Visited with friends for lunch before the Worcester Races. Ham, Double Egg (perfectly cooked) and chips £3.50. Pint £2.25.We visited again for breakfast the following day (opens at 10am I think) before catching the train home. I had Traditional English £3.05. The service during these times was polite and with no great delays even though they were busy at lunch time.Thank you

The place was busy, but not that busy, the service was polite and competent, but from ordering to receiving the food was a very long wait, I had the special offer breakfast which was OK but no more, the person I was with had the baked potato with tuna which she said was very good. The service was terrible but the food was great value for money

Called here travelling from West Wales to Birmingham, really good atmosphere, we ordered a small breakfast each and the small price of £3.05 did'nt expect much in the way of quantity but the service was very quick and a good full plate of food plus a good pint, can't fault it at all.Well worth a visit.

Amazing value at this city pub we had 3 courses for £5.25 I chose tomato soup then gammon with pineapple chips and peas followed by apple crumble and custard
