An unforgettable experience! This restaurant exceeded all my expectations. I tried the octopus and the scallops, and both dishes were simply spectacular. The octopus was perfectly cooked, with just the right texture and a subtle smoky flavor — it melted in my mouth. The scallops were beautifully seared on the outside and tender on the inside, striking the perfect balance between sweetness and ocean freshness. Every detail on the plate showed care and precision. The ambiance and service were also top-notch. Without a doubt, this is a place I’ll return to and highly recommend to any food lover.

New Review: This place had a noticeable drop in quality in the last year of the old ownership and I thought I would give it another go under the new name. My first thought is that it’s new name, same chef. Obviously I can only go what we ordered. Lobster & Chips - Good Crab - Sad (almost just an empty crab) Bay Octopus - Sad Tuna Tartar - Sad We wanted to try a bit of everything and it would have been better if we stuck with 2x Lobster & Chips as normal. The service was fine and friendly but if you’re spending over £100 for 2 people you should leave feeling good. I think 3 stars is fair. ———————————————————————— Old Review 3 years previously: Went as a group and everyone had seafood. Crabs, Lobsters, Wild Prawns etc. All was great and and everyone had a great time. This place has got it right time after time!!!

Great food however very expensive for what it is and poor service. The poorest part of the experience was the service. When paying the high prices they charge (£30 for a bowl of pasta!) I would expect to have attentive service and where possible one member of staff looking after our table rather than any number of people asking if we wanted anything and then forgetting to submit our order. A real shame as it is a lovely place to be however we won’t be rushing back as I don’t feel the service is up to the standard I would expect for the prices being charged. Not a dissimilar experience to the other restraints in the group, form over function. a real shame.

This place is very badly organised for what service you want. You had to sit in different places to get different service. We were also overcharged for 2 beers and we couldn't see the card machine because of the sun. Food over priced and not that good. Needs a management overhaul.

Went for the “cocktail two for one” on a Monday evening, chose some small plates to accompany, were seated outside in brisk wind in their tent-like structure, cold and bleak and inside was empty but not allowed to sit in there (this was 5 pm), food including some sort of frites concoction with crab dumped on it (very strange) all unimpressive, unskilled and amateur waiting staff and final insult was that the bill was wrong with failure to take into account the offer so if I hadn’t been vigilant I would have paid even more! Used to love this place as Cafe Mozambique, Three Mackerel, Hooked on the Rocks but this is yet another decline for Falmouth, embarrassingly hopeless in every way! Bill, even with offer, was towards £80…Beware! It’s all the more disappointing because a couple of years ago I did eat in the sister of this place in Flushing and, on that occasion, a three course meal was excellent so was expecting the same but this is a disaster and it was somewhat embarrassing as I had taken a guest. No doubt, just as the Gyllyngvase cafe, they will trade on location and views but these two locations sadly have nothing to offer either in food or service. The impression is that they don’t really have a clue! Also, the place used to look nicer with the blue but the overwhelming white furniture is not appealing and adds to the general feel that they don’t know what they’re up to don’t really care. The impression is that the consumer is there to be made money out of and that they really cannot be bothered…just going through the motions, inexperienced staff and the usual thing of “that’ll do”…what is it about the UK and catering and service…so often playing to the lowest standards. Could do with a complete overhaul and a skilled and professional restaurant manager…owners should do a visit to Mariners at Rock to see how it’s done…wonderful welcome, a manager totally on top of his game with floor management, a lesser bill there and came away feeling that they truly cared and wanted us to return plus the food was delicious!

Great seafood, super ambience and outstanding beach location, friendly staff. Sadly the music was loud and aggressive and out of place, better suited to a night club. Three tables around us complained the music was too loud, we complained too. The waiting staff said everyone was complaining but they aren’t allowed to turn it down. Such a pity the music so detracted from what could have been a great dining experience.

I went with a group of 4. The atmosphere was great! We all got oysters and an appetizer each plus a main meal each and 2 bottles of wine. The appetizers were amazing and wine was good! The main dishes were something left to be desired. My one friend got the duck and she was disappointed with the portion size. Another friend got the crab fettuccine and said there was barely any crab. I got the crab. The presentation was great, but there was barely any crab meat in the crab and it was over cooked. Of course not every crab will have a good amount of meat, but there was barely anything. It was not enough for a main. I was too polite to say anything, but my friends did as they saw me struggling to find any meat. The waitress was lovely and did her best when speaking with the manager, but the manager said she wouldn’t do anything about it. The waitress came back and said unfortunately there’s nothing she could do unless I wanted to submit a complaint, which was confusing since that’s what my friends had done. I didn’t want to cause a fuss so I just left it and paid. As I said, the appetizers were great, but main meals were something to be desired. DO NOT get the crab!

In the past we regularly stopped for a drink or two when walking the dog and loved the seahorse bar (when run by Hooked). But, now we find the replacement outside bar is missing quality draught lagers which means you have to walk into the main restaurant to order a pint. It just feels awkward, is a buzz kill, and It doesn't feel integrated anymore 😞. Please return the outside bar to full service or the golf club bar is calling as it's recently refurbished and dog friendly 👍🏼

It’s a special location right in the middle of a thriving community however the new owners have spoilt lots of the original soul. Most notably by removing a much loved public footpath just next to the outdoor seating. The initial act is one thing but how they’ve acted since then is really disappointing and says a lot about their lack of respect for the location and its community. For those visiting Falmouth and Swanpool who are tempted to try the beach house, don’t bother. Visit one of the many other food and drink places in town. Or head to the ferry boat inn if you fancy being by the water - it’s just a short 10 min drive away.

Unfortunately very disappointing. Having visited Hooked on the Rocks many times over the years and Harbour House in Flushing I was so excited to see the new twist on what was always a great and reliable restaurant. I followed the transformation closely across the Beach House Social media and I couldn’t wait to get in there! Having booked a table for a date night the whole experience from start to finish was well below par. Unattention, unwelcoming staff, servers that didn’t know the menu or accompanying drinks, some of the food we ordered never even arrived at the table! For the price and the style of the food, remembering how good Harbour House is, I expected a lot better experience, there is no way they can compete with other Sea Food Restaurants in the Falmouth area. Unfortunately it seems Beach House will be relying on foot fall and their location rather than their standard - do not be fooled by social media posts because it definitely doesn’t live up to the hype, as for management they didn’t want to reply to or acknowledge emails of concern.

Unfortunately, my recent visit to The Beach House in Falmouth fell far short of expectations. Despite its wonderful location and inviting atmosphere, both the quality of the food and the service were disappointing. Our meal lacked the freshness and attention to detail you would expect, especially at this price point. Moreover, the service felt inattentive and disengaged, making the overall experience feel rushed and underwhelming. As locals, we emailed the restaurant afterwards to share our experience and give them the opportunity to address our concerns, but sadly, we haven't received any meaningful response or resolution. It's such a shame because the venue has great potential, but based on this visit, I wouldn't recommend it nor plan to return anytime soon.

Can't really fault the food. I rarely leave reviews, but it turns out (at least) one of the owners –Will Speed– is an absolutely massive potato. Just put the sign back where it's supposed to be. To anyone reading this, I encourage you to take your custom elsewhere if upon arrival there isn't a clearly visible public footpath sign pointing in the correct direction to the path in between the beach and the Beach House. Where it has always been and where it should always remain.

Unfortunately I’m leaving a low review of our experience of visiting tonight. We have previously visited many, many times over the last 6 years when previously under a different name and ownership, but tonight we’re left disappointed by the service and attitude of two members of the staff under the new ownership. To put in context, we were welcomed by a very polite and helpful member of the team who also allowed us to sit exactly where we wanted to be and checked in with us to make sure we were settled. We had only called in for drinks on this occasion but having established that there was a lot of sediment yeast sludge in the vastly overpriced bottle of red wine, I politely brought this to the attention of two other staff members, merely to make them aware, the response I received was not in the best interests of customer service is all I will say on this platform. Trust me - I’ve drank many bottles of wine in restaurants and know a thing or two about aging and storage so I know what to expect - what I don’t expect is the rude response and attitude as a paying customer.

Very disappointing 😬we were a table of 7 . The service was appalling, my husband had to get up after 20 minutes of waiting and ask for some service . The music was too loud, we had to shout above it. I ordered dressed crab … it was bits of crab thrown onto a plate . The white meat wasn’t there?! (Obviously used in the Crab Risotto) there was a hard cold lump of brown meat in the shell (certainly not dressed in any way ) I then had to pick out a bit of meat from the legs … I was starving . My husbands Sardine fettuccini was bland . All in all very disappointing. They need to up their game 😡 and it was expensive

I feel like this is a bit of a harsh review as the food wasn't too bad when i was eating it!. The service wasn't exactly great and I had to call the waitress over to serve me in the end. I ended up with a severe case of food poisoning from the sea food platter unfortunately which stayed with me for 5 days. I did call the restaurant who suggested that they hadn't had any other complaints but informed me that 'oysters' are always a risk'. There wasn't anything else i had eaten on that particular day so i knew it was the platter. I did speak with the Manager and she had me complete a form for my symptoms and Doctors visit - unfortunately it was so severe that i needeed medical treatment. I received an apology via email - i wouldn't go back

A good re invention. Only open for three weeks, the new Beach House has brought a fresher cleaner vibe to what used to be Hooked on the Rocks. We liked the table details of fresh spring flowers, candles and little box of trivial pursuit cards to entertain. The food was fresh well cooked and plentiful, Frito misto, chips, sardines on toast and a duck leg giant croquette were delicious. The ambiance was just right, we saw serving staff chatting and friendly with customers. Lighting was adjusted very carefully as the beautiful sunset dropped. The team from hooked have stayed on apparently- a great little restaurant got even better.

Belated Anniversary Lunch on Sunday was one of the best meals we have ever had in Cornwall. Scallops, seared tuna and fritto misto with chunky green olives and focaccia with anchovy dip to start with - absolutely outstanding. Tom made our day - nothing was too much trouble and he delivered every course with a genuine smile and enthusiasm. We also had a beautiful female waitress (sorry we didn't get her name) who brought us a complimentary drink at the end of our meal. We wanted a dessert but just didn't have room - nor did we need any dinner later that day when we arrived home. We are old customers of Hooked on the Rocks and are just so grateful they have kept on their old team especially the Chef ! Thoroughly recommend.

This used to be a super restaurant but sadly the revamp has seen this place, once a deserved favourite for locals, become a location that will quickly see it a tourist trap and little else. Too many tables jammed inside, and no feeling of love. The six of us had an evening with frankly very poor service, with no ongoing care, and dishes that tasted as if they were from a jar. When feedback was given the staff, whilst friendly, effectively dismissed the comments. It was suggested the crab shell, sitting on the plate having been unhappily found in the fettuccine, was in fact breadcumbs! As locals we were very sad and Cornwall deserves much better than this.

Visited most recently for an evening meal late December 2024. We have been here several times over the years and were really looking forward to coming back for a good meal, and making an occasion of it. It was however, disappointing and frustrating. Historically it’s always been quite pricey here, but the experiences previously warranted it, whereas on this visit it certainly didn’t. The starters were good and the mains were tasty - but the mains were more like appetisers and not as described. My girlfriend had the whole plaice which was very small, I had crispy duck leg which was also exceptionally small and served as a croqette type thing. Had it been sold as this on the menu, I’d have had something different. We left hungry, and £150.00 odd lighter. Considering we had no wine at all this is even more OTT. There is also a 12.5% service charge added, even for a table of 1 or 2! One member of staff that looked after us was very friendly and polite, the other was uninterested and clearly didn’t want to be there. Hospitality businesses are under real cost pressures and I’m under no illusion that price increases are inevitable for us as the consumer, but whilst paying a premium for location, quality and experience is one thing.. being as I very much felt ‘ripped off’ is another thing.

This restaurant does try hard to present a gastronomic experience The staff are lovely and the location is a delight You can smell the ‘but’ coming … The food is delivered with an overly heavy hand - evidenced in off-puttingly large portions and or too-rich sauces but the biggest problem is the wine list Unless you are a sommelier you will only recognise a small number of the wines and the ones you might rely on like Chardonnay are absent Anyway, the average price per bottle ks about £60 so choosing a wine you don’t know becomes a high risk activity Short story if you have an average bottle of wine and a meal for two you’re looking at £200 plus and IMHO it’s not really in that league

The best in Falmouth. We live nearby and we are lucky enough to visit often. This is by far the best seafood restaurant around. Everything I've had here has been amazing, prawns in njuda butter are a stand out. The fish and chips are perfect, lobster and fries beautiful, and if you get a chance to have their dark chocolate orange dessert, then do it. It's sensational. All of this with the best views over Swanpool Beach and lovely staff makes it the perfect treat. The cocktails are also worth a mention, the lychee martini is my favourite. In the summer months, the outdoor Seahorse Bar is also worth a try, lovely cocktails, and reduced snack menu.

Though it mentions is a dog friendly place, you are seated outside. The area is heated but make sure you bring someone who wants to keep pushing the button for you. Too be honest this is a real pain. Starters – Scallops, I do not believe they came fresh more like from freezer. Mains – Whole Crab, delicious. Mains – Pasta Dish, the sauce was too rich, and the pasta was more like noodles. Dessert – Meringue – tasted like it was out of a packet or had it been in an airtight tin for too long? Overall experience, we have eaten in lots of restaurants, and we do not feel the value for money was in this place. Food was okay but very pricey for what you get. Five prawns for £19 😧 also the duck on the menu says it comes with duck breast and duck leg, there was no duck leg and the waitress said it had got some bits in the salad, which wasn't much of a salad with no duck leg in - £32 for duck breast. Side of broccoli for £7.50 is a bit steep. Dessert menu was limited and expensive, £10 for a meringue covered in strawberry sauce. We booked our anniversary meal here on the back of other TripAdvisor reviews and were not disappointed. It was a Bank Holiday weekend and the place was busy and buzzing! The FOH team were fantastic - friendly, attentive and not intrusive. They all looked genuinely happy to be there which added to the lovely atmosphere. Service was prompt and the food was delicious. My only "criticism" is that I ordered the mackerel dish as a main and was a bit surprised by how small the fish was. It was cooked and prepared well (no bones!) and did taste good though. Also, I ordered the lemon posset for dessert and it was served in a rather deep, straight sided earthenware bowl, which didn't show it off to its best. Again, it tasted great but would have been better served in a different bowl. Minor issues aside, we really enjoyed our meals and will return on our next visit to Falmouth. Thanks guys for a really lovely dining experience.

Our favourites were the seafood platter, the smoked cod focaccia and my wife’s fish but honestly we can’t fault them on any of our dishes. It was fantastic throughout. Strong recommendation to visit for nice seafood at lunch! The place can get quite busy, so make sure to book in advance. We did not and were happy to get the last place outside which was incredibly windy - but we stayed and the food was worth the struggle with the wind. ;)

First time in Cornwall, first time in Falmouth. I mean, where do I start... Recommended by the hotel we stayed at, this place was fantastic, from service to food and atmosphere, absolutely fantastic. We ordered the Padrone Peppers and cod roe as startes and OMG, I knew the mains were going to blow my mind as the startes were absolutely delicious. As mains we had the mackerel and cod, and wow, what do you think? Explosion of flavours in perfect combinations, my compliments to the chef. Did not expect a fine dining experience as I was walking in, but boy, was I wrong to say the least. As desserts we had mille feuille and pavlova, bang! More delight! Hands down I recommend this place, yes it is fine dining price, but guess what? Worth every penny, just pull your credit card out, make sure to reserve a table beforehand and just go! 😎

Fantastic restaurant with a great view over the bay. I probably would only recommend it if you like fish though. Very high quality food that was delicious, service was fast and food came quickly. Prices felt fair for the level of quality. We had a lovely time here!

We went on a Sunday evening, not overly busy. The weather wasn't great so only a few people sitting outside. Service was good. Scallops and focaccia with the usual for starters...not enough oil but really flavoursome. Friend had duck which was really good with fries. I Had half a lobster which was over cooked in the main body but tender meat in the claws. All drinks were expensive for Cornwall, cocktails were good. The building is shabby and shack like which is fine...but prices were ridiculous overall in my opinion. Lovely waitress. Wouldn't rush to go back myself but many do. Slightly pretentious air about it but that is not unusual at time of year. Better places for fish dishes but maybe without the view.

Delicious 😋 hot seafood sharing platter slathered in delicious butter and samphire, I'll be dreaming about this food. Great spot. If you are sitting outside and booking, ask for a table that is sheltered by the restaurant as the wind blows from inland as well.

Very strange attitude to customers. I arrived at 8.10pm on a lovely sunny evening whilst on a long walk along the SW coast path. I was hoping for a quiet drink overlooking the sea to be told the outdoor bar closed at 8 o'clock sharp with no exceptions. A real shame as there were lots of empty tables and potential customers. I popped in to the main restaurant to enquire about ordering a drink for outside but was quicky brushed off. I smiled to myself when I heard the person behind me in the queue ask the exact same question; so that's at least 2 customers lost. Not particularly friendly staff, but I guess with a lovely location like this they don't have to try particularly hard! I certainly won't be returning.

I’ve eaten in a lot of high end restaurants and I think that this might be one of the best meals I’ve had. The John Dory (shown in picture) was perfectly cooked with a sauce that made me want to lick the plate-I honestly believe many Michelin Star restaurants would be proud to have that dish on their menu. The scallops were simply the best I’ve had-perfectly cooked and presented. The guys in the kitchen clearly know what they’re doing. The staff here are amazing and the atmosphere is a friendly, warm unpretentious place. If I lived closer I’d eat here all the time. I think it might be time to move to Cornwall.

We visited here after graduation for a special meal, we’ve eaten numerous times at hooked in Truro and it’s always 10/10. So we were looking forward to trying this location. We rang weeks before regarding accessibility as my 88 year old grandmother walks with a frame and was told there was accessible access, when we arrive we realised this was a narrow door with no ramp making it very difficult to get her up. We were seated at a lovely table and got everyone seated, when a waitress came over and told us we had to move as wed been seated at the wrong table and it was for a special party. Working in hospitality management myself I was abit taken aback at the way this was handled, once we were at our new table I had to ask twice for the drinks menu even with 2 waitresses stood idle at the bar but then things took a turn and everything seemed very rushed, starters came out swifty, oysters were gorgeous but the cod roe foccacia was burnt on the sides but still tasty. Mains came out and were delicious and cooked to perfection (Duck, Lobster and Scallops). We shared some deserts and still had 1/3 of a bottle of wine when I assume he was the manager came over and told us our lift was waiting outside and a card machine was thrust on us without us asking for it, a shame as our lift was going to wait and we were going to finish the night with cocktails. I very much felt like they wanted our table and us gone, at other establishments this might fly but not a £200 dinner. Unfortunately it slightly tainted my special day and my feelings for the company. To end on a postitive the waitress we had, younger with dark hair was fantastic and really helped with my grandmother.

Wonderful place to eat, great location and staff. Went for our daughters graduation celebration and had a great time. Wanted to go back on our last night in Falmouth. Couldn't get a table until 830, but Justin took our details. Luckily an earlier table became available and he called to let us know. We will be back

It is not for nothing that this restaurant is famous for its seafood menu. Here we tasted lobster, mussels, shrimp and scallops. Everything was prepared quite quickly (10-15 minutes) and also well prepared. Personally, I was a little lacking in spices, but the rest was at the highest level. I definitely recommend visiting here. It is better to reserve a table in advance so that you don't have to wait, because there are a lot of people who want to.

Only stopped for a drink..but frankly the food around us looked fabulous!.. when you first go in there is a sign which asks you to wait here to be seated..we did and eventually ignored that and sat down..other people we noticed were waiting a long time to be seated..to be fair they were busy but if you put signs up you have to follow those up!..we did wait a long time to be served..but as I said they were busy!.. beautiful views if you sit outside.. I would suspect you would have to book in the school holidays 🤔.. probably wouldn't go again for a drink..but as I have said it would be worth going for the food that we saw!

Incredible food in a laid back atmosphere. I visited with 2 friends (at their request after a previous visit!) We had another enjoyable evening. Our waitress took care of my dairy intolerance with ease and there was still plenty to choose from. Between us we had the mackerel as a starter which was divine, half a lobster, prawns, scallops and the risotto. Washed down with the exquisite Knightor baccus. Not a cheap place to eat, but worth every penny for fresh, delicious seafood. Another memorable evening. I'm sure we will return.

Excellent service, wine & appetiser.... however, the "half a lobster" was literally half the size of the one the previous night in St Agnes.

I have always had fantastic service here, the food is INCREDIBLE, especially Rob’s homemade pasties but I am sad to read some recent comments.I would urge everyone to remember the Isles of Scilly are virtually unique, we are a very small community, and like everywhere, we have housing issues. Nearly every business here is run by family, with perhaps a very small amount of staff, we are very seasonal and not an all-year-round destination which adds to recruitment problems. This is our HOME, we LIVE here, it is our COMMUNITY and everyone tries their very best. But please remember we all have lives and family in addition to working. We all welcome, and encourage visitors, but I think what keeps us special, and keeps you coming back is…. THE PERSONAL TOUCH and that means sometimes personal/family needs happen. May be rather than leaving a less than positive review, you take the time to be “part of our community” which means so much to you, and find out why somewhere is closed, or short staffed, at exactly the time we should be earning a living to survive the slow/quiet winter months.

I don’t like to write a negative review, but this is needed - if only to stop anyone else making a mistake and purchasing one of these overpriced awful creations; with expectations based on the ‘Made with care’ claims made on these products. We had one of Fee’s ready meals last night: the chicken leek and tarragon pie. Supposed to be a treat but was anything but. Had it not been too late to prepare an alternative I would have just put it in the bin. £13+ for a grey, gelatinous, unpleasant over-seasoned mush under an ill-fitting top of what cannot ever be described as pastry. Overpriced and dreadful. The cooking time was completely wrong - 45 minutes and the inside was still semi-frozen. Even allowing for appliance variations this was out by around 15 minutes. Whilst one expects some compromise with pre-prepared meals, they can be, and are, far better than this. I’d say Fee’s is trading on some clever marketing and a reputation built on this but the products themselves are sub- standard and not even on a par with the much cheaper, mass-produced supermarket ready meals. Not an experience I’d recommend.
