Expensive but lovely starters and main courses. Dessert menu was poor and drinks are overpriced but - overall - a great lunch and a splendid venue for that special occasion.

Amazing seafood restaurant with incredible food, though a bit on the rich side. We ordered the shell-on wild prawns, Falmouth Bay scallops, whole plaice on the bone, and fries. While everything was delicious, the whole plaice was slightly too fatty for our taste. The service was exceptional, and the beachside view added to the experience. Highly recommend booking in advance.

Nice restaurant, really great food. We booked early to get a table with a view but found ourselves on a perfectly acceptable inside table without much of a view. Restaurant was busy and so service seemed a little slow at times, e.g. dessert wine arrived after dessert was finished. Expensive, but no more than expected for high end seafood restaurant. I would recommend and would happily visit again.

6th September 2024. Had a fabulous meal here tonight. Staff were amazing..we had booked but dropped a clanger and arrived a night early. Our fault entirely!! That said, as we were there bang on 6pm they managed to find us a table inside, as requested in our booking. We had chorizo and oysters for appetisers, scallops and line caught squid for starters then fish and chips and Megrim sole for mains. All beautifully cooked. Staff very attentive without being too much so. Lovely to see an open kitchen...all the food coming out looked amazing. Its the seafood platter for 2 for us next time!! 😋 Truly lovely dining experience in a gorgeous location. Special thanks for fitting us in.

Food good for what we had. A starter of Cod roe on foccacia with pickled cucumber, and mains of Grilled Mackarel on tomatoes and onions. My wife and I ordered the same dishes. Fish dish was on the small side so we ordered some skinny fries between us, which came hot and deliciously fried. Horrible weather outside, but since we didn't book ahead we had a table in and under the 'tent' extension. Not very pleasant but comfortable enough to eat. All in all, a good dinner.

Waitress looked fed up the whole time we were there, she asked if we were ready to order and we said can we have two minutes, she sighed and walked off. Food was okay but very pricey for what you get. Five prawns for £19 😧 also the duck on the menu says it comes with duck breast and duck leg, there was no duck leg and the waitress said it had got some bits in the salad, which wasn't much of a salad with no duck leg in - £32 for duck breast. Side of broccoli for £7.50 is a bit steep. Dessert menu was limited and expensive, £10 for a meringue covered in strawberry sauce. I’ve been to a lot of fish restaurants and this is one i won’t be returning to.

We booked our anniversary meal here on the back of other TripAdvisor reviews and were not disappointed. It was a Bank Holiday weekend and the place was busy and buzzing! The FOH team were fantastic - friendly, attentive and not intrusive. They all looked genuinely happy to be there which added to the lovely atmosphere. Service was prompt and the food was delicious. My only "criticism" is that I ordered the mackerel dish as a main and was a bit surprised by how small the fish was. It was cooked and prepared well (no bones!) and did taste good though. Also, I ordered the lemon posset for dessert and it was served in a rather deep, straight sided earthenware bowl, which didn't show it off to its best. Again, it tasted great but would have been better served in a different bowl. Minor issues aside, we really enjoyed our meals and will return on our next visit to Falmouth. Thanks guys for a really lovely dining experience.

We ordered the Padrone Peppers and cod roe as startes and OMG, I knew the mains were going to blow my mind as the startes were absolutely delicious. As mains we had the mackerel and cod, and wow, what do you think? Explosion of flavours in perfect combinations, my compliments to the chef. Did not expect a fine dining experience as I was walking in, but boy, was I wrong to say the least. As desserts we had mille feuille and pavlova, bang! More delight! We went on a Sunday evening, not overly busy. The weather wasn't great so only a few people sitting outside. Service was good. Scallops and focaccia with the usual for starters...not enough oil but really flavoursome. Friend had duck which was really good with fries. I Had half a lobster which was over cooked in the main body but tender meat in the claws. All drinks were expensive for Cornwall, cocktails were good. The building is shabby and shack like which is fine...but prices were ridiculous overall in my opinion. Lovely waitress. Wouldn't rush to go back myself but many do. Slightly pretentious air about it but that is not unusual at time of year. Better places for fish dishes but maybe without the view.

Very strange attitude to customers. I arrived at 8.10pm on a lovely sunny evening whilst on a long walk along the SW coast path. I was hoping for a quiet drink overlooking the sea to be told the outdoor bar closed at 8 o'clock sharp with no exceptions. A real shame as there were lots of empty tables and potential customers. I popped in to the main restaurant to enquire about ordering a drink for outside but was quicky brushed off. I smiled to myself when I heard the person behind me in the queue ask the exact same question; so that's at least 2 customers lost. Not particularly friendly staff, but I guess with a lovely location like this they don't have to try particularly hard! I certainly won't be returning.

I’ve eaten in a lot of high end restaurants and I think that this might be one of the best meals I’ve had. The John Dory (shown in picture) was perfectly cooked with a sauce that made me want to lick the plate-I honestly believe many Michelin Star restaurants would be proud to have that dish on their menu. The scallops were simply the best I’ve had-perfectly cooked and presented. The guys in the kitchen clearly know what they’re doing. The staff here are amazing and the atmosphere is a friendly, warm unpretentious place. If I lived closer I’d eat here all the time. I think it might be time to move to Cornwall.

We visited here after graduation for a special meal, we’ve eaten numerous times at hooked in Truro and it’s always 10/10. So we were looking forward to trying this location. We rang weeks before regarding accessibility as my 88 year old grandmother walks with a frame and was told there was accessible access, when we arrive we realised this was a narrow door with no ramp making it very difficult to get her up. We were seated at a lovely table and got everyone seated, when a waitress came over and told us we had to move as wed been seated at the wrong table and it was for a special party. Working in hospitality management myself I was abit taken aback at the way this was handled, once we were at our new table I had to ask twice for the drinks menu even with 2 waitresses stood idle at the bar but then things took a turn and everything seemed very rushed, starters came out swifty, oysters were gorgeous but the cod roe foccacia was burnt on the sides but still tasty. Mains came out and were delicious and cooked to perfection (Duck, Lobster and Scallops). We shared some deserts and still had 1/3 of a bottle of wine when I assume he was the manager came over and told us our lift was waiting outside and a card machine was thrust on us without us asking for it, a shame as our lift was going to wait and we were going to finish the night with cocktails. I very much felt like they wanted our table and us gone, at other establishments this might fly but not a £200 dinner. Unfortunately it slightly tainted my special day and my feelings for the company. To end on a postitive the waitress we had, younger with dark hair was fantastic and really helped with my grandmother.

Was travelling alone and heard really good things about this restaurant so booked a table for 1 for lunch as a treat before heading home. Lovely location and views. I had the crab risotto with a side of focaccia bread which was delicious, can’t complain about the food, but the service was unfortunately really disappointing. After being served my food I was completely ignored by staff. Wasn’t asked if I wanted another drink or anything else, sat with finished plates in front of me for well over 20 minutes while they seemingly ignored the corner I’d been sat in (sadly quite common when travelling solo). I would have ordered dessert but had to wait too long with no waiting staff in sight, in the end I was about to get up and go to the front desk when the waitress eventually took notice, but then on her way over started talking to another table near me. I basically had to shout across the room for my bill still with dirty plates in front of me. No asking if everything was ok, no apology for slow service, no asking if I wanted anything else. Came away from my end of holiday treat quite disappointed and would expect better trained staff for a lunch that cost £40+ for one person.

Wow. Just wow. One of the best seaside restaurants I've been to in a long time. We started with oysters which were so delicious that we devoured them in seconds. This was followed by a hot seafood platter. We we skeptical about it being 'hot' but it was delicious - mussels, clams, scallops, prawns, langoustines and we added half a lobster. The meal was so good, that we immediately booked the restaurant again for the next night. Much of the following morning and afternoon we were giddy with anticipation and discussion about what to have next. Night two, they had run out of oysters so had to make due with scallops (poor us). Then we had the prawns (which both of us felt may have been the best we've ever had) and the grilled turbot. The first night we sat outside, by the water as we intended to get messy with the platter. The second night we sat in the cosy interior. As I write this, I wish I were there now. Thank you Hooked on the Rocks for incredibly delicious food and two memorable evenings.

Hooked was a fantastic experience both on terms of view, service, and food. The only reason for the 1 star less was the value for money and portion size. The day we went was a beautiful sunny day, so we requested to move from indoor to outdoor seating to enjoy the weather and the awesome view. It was my bro in law's birthday too, so Katie immediately checked and moved us to a free table outside. The service was prompt, and the I am told the food was really good. I couldn't taste anything other than my dish as I am Coeliac and the Thai Mussels in green sauce as that was #Gluten Free. The Scallops were the star of the meal, and 18 of them were devoured between 2 people. My only complaint was the waitress suggested the special of the day was a Turbot fish at 40+ Pounds but could be shared by 2 people, however when it arrived it was barely sufficient for 1 as there was only a few sautéed vegies with it. At 40 plus pounds, I would have expected a substantial meal with some mashed potatoes or rice and vegies. Because of this mis information, I was still quite hungry as I hadn't ordered any starters. All in all it was a great place with fabulous views, great service, good food and drink. I would definitely recommend it and go back again too.

Just absolutely brilliant. Lovely, friendly welcome - we had our dog with us so sat in the outside covered area which was perfect and although chilly out was warm with the feeling of being outside. Then, the food.... just divine! The best prawns I have eaten in the UK! The focaccia was so tasty and great to mop up the nduja sauce from the prawns! Booked our next visit already.

Ray wing schnitzel was wonderful, views across the bay were lovely even in the pouring rain. I will be back!

We spend a lot of time in Falmouth and surrounding as we are sailors. There are many fine hostelries. But while this is our first visit to this place, it won’t be the last. Seafood platter? Splendid. Wine list? Really excellent. Cheese platter? The chutney alone is worth the visit (home made, utterly more-ish). All the positive comments are completely valid. These people want you to think “wow” when you leave, and that’s exactly what your lingering memory will be. We will be back!

Came here for dinner and then came back the next day for the snacks van. Such incredible fresh and flavourful food! Highly recommend the crab fries and the mussels. Hot seafood platter was delicious and a good sized portion. Delightful finish with the refreshing coconut and lime posset. Staff were lovely too. Will be coming back next time we're in Falmouth.

I live in Falmouth and this is a local favourite of mine. The food is incredible and there is always something exciting on (I had the ray wing schnitzel this weekend and was in heaven). Try the scallops, they are the best I’ve ever had! All the staff are friendly and fun, the manager Katie always goes out her way to make sure we have the best time and are looked after. You can see all the staff love being there. The view is also the best around, you won’t be disappointed.

Came to Falmouth on a pilgrimage from my days at the art school in the 90’s. My 11 year old and I wanted some seafood for lunch and Hooked On The Rocks spectacularly delivered. Stunning platter of scallops, huge prawns and mussels. A step up from the days of Cafe Mozambique but what a fantastic find.

This was the fourth time I have gone to Hooked during my annual family visit to Falmouth. Quite simply it is a great dining experience - they know what they do and they do it exceptionally well. The food is excellent, locally sourced sustainable seafood so I understand and is very reasonably priced. The front of house team service was so warm and friendly too - so attentive and prompt considering it was very busy. Special mention to Beth, Dillon and Katie who served me during the evening. Lovely young people doing a great job.

Had an amazing time as always, Katie you make us feel like as if we are turning up at a best friends house for dinner, The food is unbelievably good as always, the chef is incredible and that desert was the bomb. It was probably the best dessert I’ve had for years . Thank you so much xxx we bought our house where we did because we are just a few hundred meters from our favourite restaurant Hooked on the Rocks and our favourite beach Swanpool Beach. We love it ❤️❤️

Incredible location ! Perched on the rocks overlooking Swanpool Cove, Falmouth. Katie the manager is amazing, so attentive to her customers and staff, you can really hear it in her tone. The food !!!!!!!! The food !!!!!!!! Well it is so indulgent, so fresh and delicious that you will be back time and time again. I cannot recommend this place enough. In the spring/ summer they have a DJ playing soulful tunes and the sun sets and the warm breeze off the sea whisks you away to a dreamy state.

Absolutely wonderful visit. The cream tea was the best I think I’ve ever had. Warm scones, huge pot of cream and delicious jam, must be homemade. The tea was piping hot and came with an additional tea bag should you like it strong.

Great place to stop off on our walk. Cakes, drinks and ice cream all good, and with the bonus of sparrows waiting to hop onto your hand.

Absolutely amazing day spent at The Sharksfin for our daughter's wedding last Saturday. Wow! What a venue! From start to finish everything was wonderful. Great service with happy staff who were enjoying looking after us and wanted to make the day special. The canapes were gorgeous and main meal truly excellent. The Chefs worked their socks off. Would highly recommend. Thank you to Lisa and her whole team. You were fantastic! We will be back for a roast very soon 🙂!

Poor service and virtually no vegan/vegetarian options. Asked for a veggie burger which was on the menu, they didn't have any. Asked what else was vegan, they didn't know. Service was very slow and all front of house seemed uninterested and more keen to huddle round the bar chatting. One waitress was particularly rude, I wouldn't go there again and wouldn't recommend. Lots of much friendlier places in Falmouth.
