Honiton in East Devon

Fantastic service in the cafe, staff and chef were amazing with dietary request of coeliacs. It was nice to be able to eat a full English with family and know what I am eating is safe. Thank you

Stopped for coffee on route. Very disappointed due to exceedingly poor customer service. A polite request to dispose of a single paper cup was refused “We don’t take other people’s rubbish because we have to pay to have it taken away” Don’t work in hospitality unless you are prepared to be slightly hospitable.

Stopped here 30/9 on way from Cornwall to Ferndown. Wanted a lunch stop. The restaurant/cafe (separate building from the Garden Centre) was cosy looking with range of seating. Had Brie ‘n cranberry panini and Sausage sandwich. Both lovely. Husband especially liked the sausage sandwich in thick white bread. Had flat white coffees in nice bright red cups. Friendly & efficient service. Nice display of cards ‘n gifts on sale. Loos are unisex so be aware when visiting. Would definitely come again if passing!

Lovely vegetarian breakfast, good selection of teas, real coffee. Great value and very friendly. Perfect pit stop when heading west.

Had a very enjoyable breakfast as passing by the centre on way home from a couple of days away. Had our little dog with us who can get very excited and vocal - the staff were very accommodating and I would have totally understood if they had said he was annoying customers but not once did they say that and were very friendly. The food was very good also by the way

Brilliant food and breakfast and dog friendly is a big bonus would recommend if your near( sausages are bloody brilliant)

Not friendly, not accommodating. If you don't like dogs, don't advertise as being dog friendly. We brought our dog in with us to grab some breakfast, she was quite excited but always settles once we're all sat at a table. She barked a little (not excessively) and we were told very abruptly that if she continues we will be asked to leave. She said this in front of everyone - highly embarrassing. Now - I totally appreciate that a consistently barking dog is annoying to other customers, but perhaps she could have just given us a little minute to settle our dog before she threatened to kick us out! I would much rather you said you didn't accept dogs, than make us owners feel uncomfortable. Dogs sometimes bark...get over it or don't allow dogs. Something else to note - large signs saying that non customers are not allowed to use their toilets. Oh get over yourselves, it's a toilet. Don't be mean - it's not like there are hoards of 'outsiders' lining up to use it. Perhaps work on your customer service guys. The lady serving us was abrupt and impolite. The younger lady who brought us over our food was kind and polite - well done you. Food was fine, nothing special.

Sat outside with a friend. Staff were so lovely and talkative - felt like we'd known them a lifetime. Coffee good, cakes superb, pasty briil, friends sandwich looked great Outside seating lovely . Then visit wonderful garden centre after I'll be back

We were asked to vacate our table after only just finishing eating our sandwich and drinks! Not a way to treat paying customers. Won’t be returning here.

Great location whilst on a trip to Newquay Food is lovely and service is great. If nice weather then there are tables outside.

Popped in whilst on our way to Exeter. Decided to have a bacon sandwich. Freshly made, nice bread as well. Extremely nice staff, made to feel very welcome. Very clean. All food being served looked very good and it was busy. Also dog friendly. Thank you and we will come again.

What a lovely place to have lunch. Lovely atmosphere and excellent service. Nothing was too much trouble and food was perfect. Highly recommend a visit. Easy to get to and great value for money. Will be back soon!

Absolutely terrible service in the cafe, went in for a drink before visiting the shop, and my wife asked for a serviette with her cappuccino, because of the foam. The older woman who came from the back asking her did she order food, to which my wife exclaimed no, just need it for the foam, she was very officious exclaiming well that’s what you get with the drink….obviously customer service is a low priority here. Needless to say, we eventually got the serviette drank our drinks and left. Didn’t go to the shop, as this experience put us off. The older woman, was very officious and needs training on how to serve customers, as you will end up having no one in there. As it was there was no atmosphere in the cafe, it was soulless. Have to say we won’t be visiting this place ever again. Lost our potential custom, went to nearby Combe garden centre, where we got a far better reception and they got our business. Would never recommend Honiton garden centre.

Great for a hot breakfast on long journey Clean friendly. Meaty sausage crispy bacon and juicy mushrooms. Will return on way home for lunch.

We are on our way to Looe for a week away and stopped for a loo and refreshments break. We had a delicious pasty and cup of tea each and staff were extremely friendly and accommodating 🥰 Thank you so much.

Once again we had a super breakfast. Hot and tasty 😋. Lovely wander round the garden centre and managed to find something we needed. Lovely friendly staff. Will be back.

Pop in for a quick coffee and cake on the way home. Served by friendly employees who brought everything over to the table for us. Had 2 different cakes, both fresh and light - passion fruit and lime cake to die for! - coffee also nice! Top it off, very reasonably priced!

We always love visiting here, both the cafe and the garden centre itself! The garden centre has a beautiful selection of goods, plants, and pots to browse and buy. The cafe always serves lovely, hot coffee and the food is delicious. Allergies are catered for and you’re never waiting too long for food. We enjoyed our coffee visit on Sunday and whilst in the garden centre, I was looking for a present for my grandad, where nothing was too much trouble and they did a bespoke hanging basket as I was slightly too early for them! Great and friendly staff.

We were looking for a garden centre with a cafe. This one was very nice. Excellent food and the best flat white coffee I have ever had. I ended up having another one. We will definitely be revisiting here.

We travel between our home in the New Forest and family in Cornwall and Devon. En route Honiton Garden Centre is our favourite place to take a break. The Garden Centre is well stocked and interesting. The Restaurant is always welcoming and there is a variety of food to choose from. Returning home from Cornwall the day after Boxing Day in horrendous weather the Restaurant was a most welcome break. My husband particularly enjoyed the bacon sandwiches that day. If like us you are travelling to the West Country I would thoroughly recommend breaking your journey here. Many thanks! We hope to see you again soon. Barbara

We always drive by and decided as we had extra time we would pop in and visit the garden centre to be met by a sign on the door saying you can't use the toilets unless you buy something the code would be on your receipt! Already that makes it a cold and uninviting place. Unfortunately there was nothing we wanted to buy so had to use the facilities further down the road. Shall not be revisiting

This is a perfect place to stop off and have breakfast with friends and family.The food is delicious I enjoyed my small English breakfast and the staff are lovely you get a warm welcome.

A great place to stop while on the way down to Cornwall. I had a pastie and a cream team. The pasty was delicious and locally made, flakey pastry and a generous filling. The scone with the cream team was light and fluffy with excellent clotted cream. Friendly staff and a perfect alternative to a motorway services.

We called in here for a light late lunch so freshly-made sandwiches and a large pot of tea were perfect. Service at the counter was friendly and prompt. Good size tea pot gave us 4.5 cups, which was lovely - but could have been even better with a pot of hot water! Both sandwiches were v fulsome made with generously sliced soft granary bread. Loads of egg mayo filling in one and Brie and cranberry in the other. No complaints - just thanks!

Always stop here for cookie breakfast on way to Cornwall, the food is cooked to perfection and the owner/ chef is a lovely lady. The place is immaculate and they have a huge array of plants and pots and sundries, just a brilliant place.

Lovely café, we always visit on the last day of our annual summer holiday to the Honiton area. Nice tables inside and outside, tasty range of cooked breakfasts, cake and coffee. Highly recommended!

Beautiful cadre, lovely friendly staff. Had amazing yet huge sandwiches for our lunch and ‘Scoops’ doggy ice cream which my pup couldn’t get enough of. Other dogs here absolutely loving it too. Sat outside in the sun, peaceful and would definitely recommend.
