Chosen from trip advisor as staying local at the bay. We arrived it's very dog friendly and a very traditional old school pub. The menu is huge, the kitchen really give themselves a tall order! It was all homemade, all piping hot , huge portions, and good friendly service. Extensive kids and junior menu, too. Top tip make sure you leave room for dessert (all homemade by landlord and taste just like my nana used to make ). sticky toffee pudding and caramel fudge cake absolutely perfect. Really reasonable prices lasagne £13, 8oz surf and turf £21, kids meal £6. As a family, we had two courses each and 2 drinks each and was £86. You can book a table in advance, pub seems to close for 9ish or when last person as left as the lovely landlady told us! Less than 2 miles 6 min in car from the bay and a huge car park too.

We went here for a meal with it being a country pub and also dog friendly and wow what a find absolutely lovely food a few from our group had the rack of ribs and my oh my they wasnt disappointed at all 😋. The portion sizes were by far the largest ive had in a pub and all homemade and made by the landlady and her husband as a team. All the staff were so friendly and welcoming and such a fantastic place whos hospitality made us all feel so welcome and at home, if we visit over this way again we will be sure to go. Thank you so much to you and all your team.

Last visited and reviewed this venue in June 2024 when we were disappointed with our experience, however on this occasion we noticed a marked improvement overall with service, food quality , portion size and value for money. Instantly we noticed a change in staff who were welcoming and efficient. tables kept clean. The steak was cooked perfectly and the Chicken leek and ham Pie was delicious. I have learned that the proprietor Gaynor who normally runs the kitchen had previously been incapacitated for several weeks and albeit the other staff standing in had tried their best the change was quite noticeable. A marked improvement and so glad Gaynor is back at the helm and normal service resumed. We will now be returning on future visits to Filey.

We visited for a Sunday dinner, the food was lovely and the portion sizes were good. The staff were friendly and helpful. The inside of the pub was clean and tidy. However there is a beautiful view from outside, but the beer garden looked run down and overgrown, although I’m sure with a bit of attention this would also be a great area to sit.

Have been using the Honey Pot for many years with no complaints however after visiting this weekend I left feeling a bit disappointed. Granted it was busier than usual at 5pm. The food portions were smaller just 4 very small new potatoes, with a few peas with my steak and 2 onion rings. The steak was absolutely cooked to perfection as usual but little or else with it. Which has not been the case over the years. I didn't feel that I got value for money on this occasion. Staff looked run off their feet and noisy babies and small kids crying spoilt the ambience. Toilets look tired with a mountain of Ash left piled in wood burner and tables didn't look particularly clean. On our regular visits to Filey we always look forwards to having meals at the Honey Pot but after this last visit we maybe looking at alternative places to eat.

Never been here before so didn’t know what to expect from mixed reviews. Dog friendly pub, large bar / dining area and other separate dining rooms . Home cooked Sunday roast - good size portions - tasty enough. Roast and new potatoes but no mash. Large chunks of swede not a favourite of mine. Lovey home made yorks pudding. Extra jug of thick gravy. Excellent puddings - apple crumble shortbread and custard - delicious . Nice pint of Wold Top bitter. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Dog loved it as a cool stone floor to lay on and staff gave her loads of treats. GentsToilets showing their age a bit. Pub is open March to November .

Never have I been made to feel so unwelcome in a pub. Called in for drinks on a Saturday night and the bar maid made it very clear from the minute we walked in that she didn't want us there. Reluctantly served us but told us we were getting in the way of people that were waiting to order food. We didn't realise that if you ordered food, you automatically jumped the queue of any inferior people that just wanted drinks. However, we stood aside and let that one person order. There was approximately 4 tables of diners so not exactly packed and you'd think they'd welcome any extra trade in the current financial climate but we were told we were not to sit at any of the tables as they were for diners only. Therefore, we did the only other thing we could do and we stood in the bar. We were then told that we couldn't stand there despite there being loads of room to get round us and that we'd have to go into a disused, damp smelling room at the back of the pub where the play area used to be. At this point, we finished our drinks and left never to return again. How foolish of the staff as we'd just commented on how the food looked quite nice and we might return to try it. My advice? Go to The Cottage in Hunmanby just a couple of miles away. We did and we were welcomed with open arms.

We are holidaying here with our three children. My son who is autistic loves softplay, its the only way we can eat out in peace as a family. I googled nearby softplays and this showed up and we were looking forward to it. When we arrived we ordered our food and were told softplay is closed and has been for 2 years. I suggest they update their cover photo online featuring the softplay and amend the reasons to visit by deleting "family friendly with softplay". We stayed anyway and my son needed the toilet. It was disgusting, god knows when last cleaned. No toilet roll, hand wash empty but a bottle of diluted hand sanitizer there instead. Once food arrived the meat on my Sunday dinner was tough. Kids potato smiles burnt and my husbands chilli was close to inedible with how spicy it was. Four flies were constantly circling the table and going on our food. I complained and was told there's fields surrounding so it can't be helped. I did get offered a replacement meal for my Sunday roast which I declined because the kids were twining about the softplay and I just wanted to go home. I'm not one to complain infact this is the first time I ever have in an establishment and I hate doing it but this was disappointing. I'd be interested to know the hygiene rating. Its a shame because its a lovely building in a beautiful setting.

Whenever we visit this area we make sure to book here. The food is delicious, generous and not just “pub grub”. If you’re wanting home cooked with a great selection then you won’t go wrong here. We’ve been throughout the year and had many things and there is never a disappointment. My recommendations are the crispy pork belly, traditional roast and Hungarian goulash. The only improvement would be that there is a smaller curry option for kids because my youngest couldn’t manage an adult’s portion and loves a curry. Besides from that, we love how the building has its historic feel, the big fire and staircase are our fave thing and dogs are welcome when we have our fur babies with us. Again, the food is beautiful and plentiful. Spot on place and one of our faves.

We called in on spec on the way back from the coast just after 6:30pm on a Sunday and they were doing food til 7pm so we were in luck! The staff were all so friendly and helpful and attentive and the actual pub has a wonderful atmosphere with lots of quirky lamps and pictures around. My partner is desperately fussy and there is rarely more than one menu choice he can eat so he was delighted to have difficulty choosing between several options! He chose a Pork Roast dinner which was huge and had several different vegetables including broad beans which are rarely served anywhere, a massive Yorkshire pudding and stuffing ball. He ate the lot.I chose Wilma's sticky ribs, which is a smaller version of the other rib choice but was still massive. It came with a really fresh-looking salad, chips and home-made coleslaw. Everything was just delicious and there was so much that I was able to come away with a doggy bag so have enjoyed a second helping at home tonight! My partner then chose Sherbert Lemon cheesecake which he had not heard of before and he said it was slightly fizzy and very lemony so that also disappeared in record time.We have found many places have put their prices up a lot so when the bill came we were really surprised to see the total cost. For such exceptional quality food, this was excellent value indeed. We will be back!

We called for the first time today. We'd heard so many great reports about the Honey pot inn.We were welcomed when we arrived and were shown to our table, which was the rear room to the right of the bar.The waitress was very friendly and polite.Whilst waiting for the menus, we ordered drinks. I had a cracking pint from the local "Wolds Top Brewery".I have to say, the menu choice is amazing and i found so many different dishes that i fancied but i finally chose the "Steak Eckythump". Consisting of an 8oz Rump Steak, Liver, Black Pudding, Mushrooms and Onion Rings. The steak was cooked perfectly to my liking and was so tender. Everything was homemade and so flavoursome. My wife chose the 12oz Gammon Steak with Fried Egg, Mushy Peas and Homemade Chips.Wasn't sure we could manage a dessert but after seeing the choice, we couldn't resist. Again, a fantastic choice of desserts. I had the Rhubarb Crumble and Shortcrust Pie with ice-cream and my wife had the Chocolate and Vanilla Fudge Cake with Custard. Both desserts were presented to a very good standard and were so tasty. We live in Wakefield and when the caravan is shut we’ll make a special trip to filey just to come to the honeypot. Since last time they’ve refurbished the pub, it now has a Stone floor and stag and animal decor throughout, a lot of thought has gone into the design and the little touches such as the lamps, well done to whoever was behind that. We tried booking for 5pm but due to Covid-19 and space they only had 4.30pm, which is fine. Lovely friendly staff and food was spot on. I had heard good things about this restaurant, will be my go to when in the area

Great in every way.The menu is huge. Literally the biggest selection of meals I’ve seen in any pub or restaurant and even more impressive is that every meal is delicious. We had lasagna, mid-week roast, and pies and they were all great. The service is top notch too. First time I’ve ever been asked if I need more sauce when the waitress came to check how the food was.Definitely worth a visit.

If you are just coming for the food, then you are in for a treat. If you want a decent pint of beer then you will be disappointed. I asked the bar staff upon entry "what beers do you have on tonight" the answer was Fosters or Carling. You have no idea how soul-destroying that is to hear. Nitro keg offerings of Lager should not be what a pub visit should be about. If I wanted it I could get the same thing from the off-license. A pub should have well-kept beers that can only be had in a pub. As it happened, they did have 1 guest beer but it was a sorry offering from Wold Top. The type of beer that I can imagine was served in the Victorian era which was safer than the water, wishy-washy, and bland served too cold. Opportunity wasted I'm afraid.

Booked for a Sunday evening, advised to come for 6.45( wanted 7 pm) due to them finishing orders at 7. When we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff and sat at a lovely corner table. They seemed quite quiet, the waiter was friendly and we ordered at the bar as requested. There was a good range of vegetarian and vegan options which kept my daughter happy. She had the three sausage casserole, and said it was tasty. Lamb rogan was given the thumbs up and the naan was huge, roast beef tasty and surf n turf good too. Asked for more ketchup that never arrived ( only grip) . We left about 8.15 and the place was deserted by then. Generous portions.

Went for Sunday lunch and had the beef.Lovely tasty food the meaty gravy was excellent, great homemade mint sauce. Ordered a medium size meal which was plenty. Lots of choices on the menu. Staff friendly and helpful. The Honey pot is a traditional olde worldly looking pub which I personally like. Fantastic little pub, would definitely recommend.

We was staying at Primerose Valley this amaxing pub was just around the corner. The meals delivered were incredible all 6 of us were extremely happy with the food and great service and great at social distancing.A day later we went again and again never failed it was delicious. I had the sweet and sour and the first time chien enchiladas (yummy) the men had pie which was incredible full of meat and tasty. Again great service had a little longer wait due to later in the evening but not too long to complain about. If we was ever to stop nearby or a trip for the day this is the place we would 100% go.

We were on holiday in the area and chose this pub from reviews on TripAdvisor. We were not disappointed. We went for lunch on Sunday 16/08/20.My son and I had fish, chips, and mushy peas and my 5 year old grandson chose pizza followed by ice cream. Everything was delicious and huge portions. All homemade. We had booked for 18/08/20 and again everything was homemade. I had steak and onion pie, the gravy came in a jug and was great. I had sticky toffee pudding and a jug of custard. It was huge. I couldn't finish it.I would recommend this pub if you are in the area. Booking recommended.

First visit to the Honeypot Inn 12/8/20 as was staying nearby.Had a table for 6 booked for mid afternoon. Signed in & used the hand gel provided & was then shown to our table. Looked through the extensive menu & trust me there’s a lot to choose from & very reasonably priced. Meals came fairly quick & what can I say about the food - The portion sizes were very generous & I can honestly say this was the best pub food I’ve eaten & that was agreed with all 6 in our group, beautiful homemade food, piping hot honestly not a single thing I would of changed about the meals.Staff very helpful & attentive making sure meals were ok & if we needed anything else.I agree with some other reviews that this place would benefit from a refurb but still a very nice place. All I would say is keep serving that quality of food & you won’t go wrong.Next time we are in that area we will 100% visit again.

Had evening meal at the Honey Pot tonight, made a reservation and was taken to our table, we then ordered meal at the bar, good choice on menu, And reasonably priced, we ordered prawn cocktail and garlic mushrooms then both ordered the executive steak, absolutely gorgeous cooked to perfection, No complaints at all good portions, plates hot served in a timely manor, can honestly say 5* would definitely recommend a visit. If any fault it has to be lady’s toilets they were not clean and the dust was thick on skirting boards needed a good cleaning otherwise 5*.

We booked our table in advance. We were seated in a nice and relaxed area. Staff were smartly dressed, polit amd professional. They couldn't do enough for us. My wife is Gluten Free and the had a menu for her. (Been to some places that don't offer gluten free) our starter was amazing and freshly cooked. The mains were really well presented and value for money. We were asked if our meal was OK, we were offered sauces and asked if we were OK for drinks. We had a dessert family favourite sticky toffee pudding and we got a choice pf custard, cream, ice cream or plain. My wife and I also noticed when customers had left they went and cleaned the tables and chairs. We were so pleased and happy we would be going again amd soon!!!!

It looks like a tired from the outside and could do with a refurb, however we were staying on the attached CAMC CL site and booked a table for 3 people and 2 dogs. The menu was quite large with a good selection including a few vegetarian and vegan options. The food was reasonably priced and of a decent quality, we had 2 curries and the toad in the paddle. The curries were home made a delicious and the Nan breads were fantastic. The sausages were very tasty with a lovely gravy. Drinks were also reasonably priced. In total we had 3 meals and 3 drinks for less that £40. If we are back in this area again, we will probably stay and dine again.

We visited The Honeypot on the first weekend after the lockdown was eased and was very sceptical about eating out again. On arrival, we were asked for our details and hand sanitiser was provided. The tables have been spaced out and as we had gone with friends, although were couldn't sit at the same table they placed is on two adjacent tables. The menu is usually vast and although has been reduced somewhat there is still an amzing choice. Even some items which we would have usually ordered but were not on the reduced menu, when asked they still provided them. The staff were fantastic and very attentive. This was the perfect way to get the family back to eating out and can't wait to visit again.

We visited the Honey Pot Inn on a cold windy Friday evening - and received a really nice welcome from the Landlord and Landlady. There was a log burner heating up the bar area, and just another couple in there having an evening meal. The menu is massive, and on top of that there is a specials board!I had the steak ecky Thump - which is a 10 oz rump steak, liver, onions, and black pudding and a nice rich gravy, and my wife had the classic Parmo (If you are from Middlesboro you will Know!)Both meals were first class - good sized portions and freshly cooked, we could not fault either of them. The landlord specialises in Indian curries - They come highly recommended, so we will be trying one of those next time we visit.Prices are more than reasonable and won't break the bankThere is also a caravan club 5 van CL onsiteBest meal we have had for a long time - we will be back soon to sample the curryGarry and Helen -

I visited with my husband at dinner time. The pub was very cosy and had a fire lit which was lovely. Despite the fact they were short staffed and very busy, we received friendly and efficient service. The menu is extensive and varied and as a vegetarian, I had plenty of options to choose from. I went for the vegetarian shepherd's pie and my husband had the chicken curry. I was anticipating a long wait due to the amount of customers, however we didn't have to wait long at all. The presentation of the food was fantastic and it tasted even better. The quality of the food and service were not affected by the lack of staff.I would definitely return in the future!

We have a caravan at a Haven site close by, and normally we just cook and eat in the caravan, we have driven past the Honneypot many times over the last two years but never went in. The Haven site shuts down for winter and this was the last weekend so we decided we would give it a try. We walked in on a cold wet night to be met by an open fire and a very pleasant young lady behind the bar, she asked if we had booked, we had not, however she pointed to a number of tables which were not reserved and told us to take our pick. The menu is extensive and in addition there was a specials board. The food was all fantastic, large portions, all hot and nicely presented. We both decided we shall be returning next year when the site re opens. The one suggestion I would like to make is that the menu’s are put onto their web site, in order that people are able to see just how much there is on offer

We were staying at the nearby Haven holiday park and because of the awful food there looked further afield and glad that we did. This pub is only a 5 minute drive from Reighton Sands and is well worth checking out. There is an extensive menu and they cater for children. I had the belly pork which came with black pudding and apple sauce and loads of veg which was all cooked very well. Be warned, on this experience the portions are large! The service was very good here and we were made to feel welcome. Would certainly go here again if in the area.
