Honesty Newbury in West Berkshire

Nice hotel as always with Premier Inn. The chef cooked very good quality food with no issues but the restaurant staff are slow to take your order and look at the floor when walking around to avoid you catching their attention. I’ve stayed here 4 times now and it has been the same each time. Also this time I stayed there was no one on reception when I arrived and after pressing the button for assistance multiple times over a few minutes someone from the restaurant noticed and came out. Much better service in the other town centre Premier Inn but I prefer this hotel due to the large car park.

Cannot comment on rooms as we only eat there. Location is very good approx 300 yards to the high street. Staff were very friendly and helpful and food was very good.

Great location, very convenient and excellent staff. Big shout out to Carlos the breakfast chef who is the loveliest person ever. Hope to see him when I’m back! Overall great stay

Stayed Sunday & Monday for 2 nights. Very good central location for Newbury town centre (2 minute walk). Paid parking almost opposite in well lit underground car park. Nice welcome by reception staff. Room was as expected. Clean, comfortable & free hand-wash & shower gel. Comfortable bed. Good towels. Tea/coffee sachets. The breakfast was the highlight of our stay. Carlos the head chef is an asset to this Premier Inn and greeted guests and checked everything was ok. A thank you to chef Tony as well who gave us freshly cooked bacon & eggs. The breakfast was tasty and fresh. Choice of fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals, pastries, crumpets, pancakes, preserves. Thank you Premier Inn Newbury for a great stay.

The Hotel is very good, the staff is very friendly and attentive to help you with anything you need. Thanks to Carlos, the cook, for his kindness and professionalism, we had breakfast there every day, at 10.

Friendly staff on arrival and throughout the stay. Room clean, bed really comfortable and great choice for breakfast. The only thing that I would say is that I would prefer a walk in shower, as I have arthritis and lights as you get out of the lift not on and it was dark. But overall well pleased with my stay and would recommend Premier to friend and family

As we didn't stay in the rooms, I can't comment on them but I would like to share that my husband and I enjoyed a delicious breakfast, made even nicer by the wonderful hospitality we received. Carlos was so friendly and nothing seemed to be a problem for him and we'll definitely be back!

I've not rated the rooms as we went just for breakfast. The hospitality was amazing! The chef Carlos went above and beyond and made us many poached eggs, served to the table with a smile. You could see he loved his job and making food to make people smile. In the words of my 6 year old 'these eggs are delicious' as was the rest of the breakfast. We will definitely come back for breakfast again.

I read ahead the reviews before my trip here with work for four nights. What stood out for me were the reviews around breakfast, the chef and team. This morning I met Carlos, a brilliant personality and so helpful and certainly such a proud addition to the team. Top marks. He even brought out an additional selection of cheese for my French colleague to enjoy her breakfast with.

Service always friendly, rooms clean, and hotel is well kept. The best Premier Inn I've stayed in, puts the rest to shame! Breakfast was good, and was readily replenished. Surprisingly nice for a hotel buffet breakfast. Only complaint is the lack of a hotel carpark, but this is unavoidable with such a central location - plus there are paid carparks nearby, so you're not completely stuck for parking.

Best hotel stay. The team here Maria, Lorraine, Charlie (chaz) and Sheenu are incredible. Very welcoming and enjoyed the banter. The food was very good and fresh. Great recommendations for pubs with pool tables too. Very happy smiley team.

Handy for Newbury town centre, 15 minute walk to the railway station, lovely staff, perfectly good Premier Inn.

Been here a few times for work. Really tasty food with something to suit all tastes on the dinner menu. Full English is delicious, good coffee. Staff are friendly and helpful, nothing is too much bother. Clean rooms with comfortable furniture and a headboard i need to recreate at home! The only thing that could make it better is proper loo roll instead of singles from a dispenser and a toilet brush.

Great Location in centre of town, Good night sleep and some local shopping. No onsite parking but reasonably priced car park 2 minutes away.

Great place. Had a really pleasant stay and staff were very welcoming. Rooms were well cleaned and location was great for what we need. Would happily return.

Staff were lovely and always happy to help. Definitely understaffed, the restaurant was closed a lot as nobody to run it. We were there 3 nights and no housekeeping, but when we asked they came to empty rubbish. Breakfast was great, breakfast staff nice and chatty and they’ll cook food however you want it. Locations good except for the car parking, but didn’t really have an issue using the one down the road. The room was very nice, enough space for us. Would come back here again.

My family and I visited Honesty in Newbury for lunch on Saturday. We would all describe it as an average experience. My toddler son had the kids’ packed lunch/meal deal for £4.95. His cheese sandwich had no butter or spread in it whatsoever, so it was incredibly dry to eat. All of us were puzzled as to why there was no butter in it. He didn’t eat any of the bread as a result, which was frustrating as the sandwich was the main component of his lunch. The paper straw on his juice box was so flimsy that it bent after a few seconds and wouldn’t work, so most of that got wasted too. The rest of us had sourdough toasties and the millionaire’s shortbread, which were fine. We thought it would have been better to have two or three more cake selections on offer. The decor was on the plain side and it was overly warm inside. One staff member was smiley and welcoming, but some seemed quite detached and business-like. As a result, it’s not somewhere we would rush back to.
