The service staff were very nice, when they were available (often didn't see them for 15-20 minutes to, for example, ask for more drinks. And that's the most positive think I have to say. We had a booking for 6.45. Our orders weren't taken by 8.30 - apparently they had a big booking before us, but isn't that how booking works? We were given a free round of drinks, though that's not helpful for people with children or pets at home (me!) that have timed their night out around this. When we were finally able to order, only one of the three advertised vegan cheeses was available - we were told the remaining two would be replaced with stuffed vine leaves and falafel. The vine leaves were clearly out of a tin, and the falafel didn't even arrive. When reminded of this, the staff did bring out some falafel - also clearly out of a supermarket aisle. The rest of the platter was some tomatoes, a few salad leaves, three tiny slices of bread, a few crackers, and some olives. I genuinely think they got this from the local Sainsburys for around £5, and charged us nearly £30 for waiting over an hour for the privilege of putting a salad on a chopping board. If you're coming to From for a meal, including vegan meals, avoid this place. You'll do far better at The Griffin, Cordero Lounge, or Dragon Pearl

Somehow Frome as a town has a knack of getting things right and Home continues that trend. What a wonderful welcoming and friendly place. An entensive and really interesting menu. With lots of delicious vegetarian options for my wife to consider. It was lovely to find a restaurant that catered for both my meat eating tastes and my wife’s vegetarian needs. Home is perfectly named with a homely snug atmosphere and the friendliest and most cheerful of owners in Keren who came and made sure we were happy and being looked after. We were only there for lunch but will definitely be back with friends for an evening meal and hopefully the chance to attend one of their live music events. We could only manage to squeeze in a dessert by sharing a piece of delicious orange almond and cranberry cake. The balance of sweetness from the oranges and the tartness of the cranberry topping were a treat! This was also made and baked freshly by Keren the owner. I can’t recall how often these days, we eat out and are disappointed in having to pay an expensive price for a meal that we could have cooked better at home. It was therefore a nice surprise to experience really great home style cooking and an even better surprise see the very reasonable prices of not only the food but the drinks too. Check out their cocktails you won’t be sorry. Thank you Keren and team for your care and attention we will be back and soon!

We loved the concept. Fun cocktails, wines by the glass and by the bottle. The menu consisted of a varied selection of tapas-style sharing plates. We chose a Spanish and a mushroom sharing plate, and we enjoyed both. The cocktails were tasty, original, locally themed, and good value. We had a sense that the restaurant is still building its confidence. We loved the vision and what they are doing. We will be back.

Service was good. Menu not at all explanatory. The caramelised onion tart was just a slice of what can only be described as soggy quiche. When returned to kitchen the chef pushed her finger into it and agreed it was only warm rather than hot. She served the same piece of tart back to the table, still soggy and man handled. The other dish was buttermilk mushrooms on foccacia bread. These were greasy and inedible and didn't go well with cold dry foccacia. Drinks were OK and reasonably priced. Sorry would not visit again. To sum up .....disappointed

We visited Clark’s Shopping Village today and went into Frankie & Benny’s for lunch. We had 5 adults and a 1yr old. We ordered 4 main courses and three starters to have as a main course. We were asked if we would like the starters as a main and we said yes. The starters arrived but none of the other food did. We were told they were just waiting for the chicken and the other meals would be out. We looked at the pass and could see a main meal there that was the same as one of the ones we had ordered, but we assumed that was for another table. 15mins or so passed and the main meal was still there. They then put the rest of our meals up and bought all of the meals to the table. We queried the meal that had been sat on the pass for ages. They apologised and said they would take it back. Under 2mins later they arrived with what they told us was a new meal. We queried it again and we’re assured they had done us a fresh one. The meal was for my 74 year old mum, she assured us the meal was fine, but she does not like to make a fuss so we were not sure. Mum only ate half the meal, as she was worried it was still the same meal and we have a 2 hour drive home. My hubby tried her meal and he is convinced they just gave her back the same meal, as it came out far too quickly. They reduced our bill but the looks we were getting from the staff were not good. Why did they not just bring us the meal when it was ready as we already had one meal

Although locals we have not eaten at the Holcombe (Inn) for some time Our mistake! Lunch today was really special. My wife fell in love with her starter: Vale of camelot & leek crème brülée. Such an unusual dish but absolutely delicious ( yes I did sneak a taste). My mussels in Thai coconut broth were also excellent, especially with home baked rolls (extra). My wife's main course was hake with dauphinoise potatoes and garden spinach. She also sneaked some of my creamy cauliflower au gratin. My roast sirloin was so tender and of course served with crispy roast potatoes and carrot , Yorkshire pudding and horseradish sauce. The perfect Sunday roast. Not only was the food delightful but so were the waitresses. Our chef and owner, Alan, helpfully came out of the kitchen to explain the recipe for the leek crème brûlée. The SA Chenin Blanc was a splendid accompaniment for the fish and my Otter Ale bright and tasty with the beef. No we did not have room for dessert unfortunately. We should not have left it so long between visits and will seek to remedy that. Even on a wet February day it was welcoming with its log fire but in the Summer is perfectly situated in spacious gardens surrounded by fields. Plenty of parking too.
