Fantastic new addition to the food scene in Holmfirth. Great atmosphere, good choice of drinks and food and fantastic service. Barnsley chop, Ribs and Lamb rumps were to die for. Excellent midweek trip. Our first visit but will not be the last.

Had the best experience ever , from the moment we walked in Tara was tending to our every need and took care of everything we needed, initially took our drinks order and as we were so overwhelmed by the choices on the menu we needed to order more drinks and she was more than accommodating with our hesitation and totally understood the reason why we were so unsure of what to order as the offerings were all as tempting as each other, would totally recommend dining here if I was in a position to do so I would’ve happily gone back the next day to sample more of the menu, I’d give them a 5 start + if that is even possible can’t wait to go back

I visited last night with my friend, fab atmosphere and amazing food. I ordered the fish which was delicious, the review below regarding the fish surprise's me because that was not my experience at all. I would definitely be back.

Ordered the sea bass and 3 of us around the table could smell how rancid it was. One is a head chef and he said it was atleast over a week in a fridge, not fresh that day as the owner-chef said. Somehow it got past the chef and waitress even though it stank. Do they not taste the food? And obviously they never tasted it when it was returned. Ordered a soup as a quick replacement but it came microwaved nuclear hot so couldn't touch it for 10 mins by that time our table was finished so left it. Nice atmosphere, good service but I won't eat there again. Not a great birthday meal. Need to get a takeaway now.

We called in on a walk from Slaithwaite at lunchtime. Great personable welcome from the landlord, lovely staff, good beer choice and spot-on food all in a friendly atmosphere. Well done Scape House.

This was our 4th outing to this superb restaurant for Sunday lunch. Our friends were as impressed as we were once again. The food was outstanding, the service exemplary and we could not have been treated any more like VIP’s by Francis and his team. The entire experience was indeed just wonderful and we will be back again very soon. Thank you everyone. You’re true professionals.

As real ale drinkers, we were keen to visit her for the Samuel Smith's Old Brewery Bitter. We were not disappointed. The beer was excellent, served by the friendly and welcoming landlord. The building itself is characterful and impressive. No food served, but suggest drinking here and eating at nearby Healds Hall, a short 19 minute walk away.
