This is mistaken all the way through, maps and all. Isn't even Yorkshire, it's Cleveland and has a TS postcode. There is a Skelton near York, but it's not where this eatery is/was. Clear up the mistakes, Trip Advisor!

Have family living away from the area that had previously visited the Hollybush on numerous occasions, they wanted to organise a catch up, but had to inform them it had closed and knocked down.

Had a party here today for my goddaughters 5th birthday. The new management are really friendly and helpful and catered for all our requirements. They decorated the room after we told them what we wanted and everything went perfect. Some of the parents of the children at the party even had the Sunday carvery in the large room next door, which they said was really hot, tasty and delicious, and there was a choice of desserts, with drinks cheap/reasonably priced. Thank you to Ashley and Craig for everything and to all the hardworking friendly staff.

We stayed last week on a one night Groupon deal & it really was excellent. The room was clean & spacious with a fridge & sea view. The staff were friendly & helpful.Dinner & breakfast were tasty & plentiful. Skelton itself is a pleasant place but we visited Staithes & Guisborough which are both very nice indeed. For the money we paid you could not ask for more.

We had bedroom 3 with twin beds. The room was comfortable and clean. Bonus was we could see the sea in the distance. As previously reported the rooms are not serviced everyday, but you only have to ask for clean towels(which we did) A big bonus was fridge in the room. Now to the food, the breakfast is huge and well cooked as are the other meals and very reasonable. On Wednesday they do over an 50s meal from 12 to 6pm £4 for 2 courses. Lastly I must mention the friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble

Just got back from a 2 night stay from Groupon. The staff were all extremely friendly - they just couldn't do enough for you. The food was amazing for the price. The breakfast was enormous, kept us going all day. The room was clean & comfortable. Only criticism I have is that the rooms weren't serviced each day. Even the basic budget hotels are all serviced each day in Europe. Apart from that we had a super time & would love to go back. Karen & her friend kept us entertained with their banter - they were brilliant!

We have just returned home after staying 3 nights at The Hollybush Inn at Skelton. We went on a Groupon & it was such excellent value. The staff were so friendly & very helpful. The breakfast was cooked to perfection as were the evening meals. You certainly don't go home hungry. The room was basic but very clean with comfortable beds & a sea view!! Thank you to all the staff & we shall see you again. Sheron & Keith Cox

Stayed in the family room for two nights. The price for this was excellent which included an evening meal and breakfast for two mornings. The food was excellent and plentiful. The staff and locals were very helpful and friendly. The only downside was the tv in the room didn't work due to no reception from the ariel so had to watch the football in the bar.

3 course meal, with drinks, for £20 for the 2 of us. I don't know how they do it at that price, but food quality and quantity are excellent ! This place puts many others to shame. I prefer my mushy peas a little more runny, but that is down to personal taste, and the only thing I could find not fully to my liking, and all served piping hot !

Our first visit to the Hollybush today. The car park was fairly full, a good sign. Once inside, the dining room was clean and tidy. The soup was delightful, the carvery was packed with meats (6) and all manner of veg. The pudding was delightful, and the drinks were reasonably priced. Add in prompt and friendly staff. We found Nothing to dislike, and will be back.

Paid a visit to The Hollybush for a meal one afternoon last week .I was really disappointed with what we received .I except the meals aren't overpriced but you do expect them to be edible. Our party size consisted of 5 adults and 1 child .The sasuage pie was hard and the pastry couldn't be cut into .the spaghetti Bolognese portion was huge but looked bland and only warm and the garlic bread was too well done .The steak pie pastry had just crumbled away and I was surprised it was served to a customer like that The beef and gravy served on a Pannie was tough believe me it is not an attractive looking meal Cheese and onion omelettes were quite nice and so were the chips (that is the reason why I have awarded 3 stars for the rating)salad consisted of lettuce 1 slice of cucumber 2 thinly slices of onion I personally don't class that as a salad .We couldn't believe the difference in the quality of the food that afternoon to a Sunday Carvery no complaints regarding the carvery .I must also point out don't expect chat out of the bar maid obviously that day she didn't want to engage with customers that day Thanks

I was taken out for a meal to the Hollybush as it had been recommended.Wow is what I can say, there was a varied menu, gluten free options available, quite a few veggie dishes to choose from and a menu ranging from full English breakfast, light snacks and an excellent choice of meals to suit any budget.Various days have various specials for example 2 steaks dishes plus a bottle of wine £15We choose from the over 50s menu, 2 courses £4 each a choice of soup & a main, or main & dessert, with about 6 dishes to choose from on the main & dessert menu.I had chicken curry half chips & half rice, the portions were so large, homemade chips, soft fluffy rice, some naan bread, homemade curry, tomatoes, onions, peppers mushrooms, spices, not too hot just enjoyable. There was so much I had no room left & asked if I could take my dessert home.My partner had liver in gravy, opted for chips but had a choice of mash. Again a large quantity & like me he chose to take dessert home. This is a family friendly pub, excellent for a get together.Would thoroughly recommend food was superb, my one regret it was not on my doorstep or I would visit more regular.Would I go again, absolutely.

Had a Sunday carvery here with a Groupon voucher, and I must say what great value for your money. You get a starter and main course for this. This starter was Tomato and Basil soup which was piping hot and tasted really nice. The carvery you had a choice of four meats Beef, Pork, Turkey and Gammon, which were served in very big portions. There was a choice of eleven vegetables Sprouts, Cabbage, Cauliflour Cheese, Parsnips, Peas, Mushy Peas, Carrots, Turnip, Leeks, Roast Potatos, Mashed Potato's which was constantly being replenished so you did not have to wait for anything. Also very large Yorkshire Puddings and lovely thick beef gravy. The food was superb and cooked perfectly and served hot. The staff were really pleasant and chatty. Although the place itself looks like a throw back from the 70s and could do with a refurbishment but it did not spoil the meal. It was very busy which shows how popular it is and you didn't have to wait long to be served. I will most certainly be visiting again very soon.

I have been here for the last 3 weeks on business for 2 nights a week, still 3 weeks to go 😀 Lovely welcome by everyone who has been on reception on all my visits, very helpful, friendly and they go that extra mile to help. The rooms I've stayed in so far are ( 2-10 and 31) which were very clean, cosy and well presented with everything you needed, Iron, hairdryer and tea and coffee facilities. The only little issue was the shower door rollers kept coming loose, just life cycle replacement needs attention at some point. I could not fault any of the cleaning at all and that's very rare for me due to being a cleaning trainer for the NHS, hotels, schools and offices for 20 years. I meet some of the cleaning first thing on the morning and they were also very polite and always smiling. The bar area was comfortable, clean, all the staff are friendly and the food in the restaurant-bar is excellent, large portions, presented beautifully and very tasty...... 😋 I didn't have the breakfast , so i can't comment on that... Thank you so much for making me feel welcome, especially when I'm here on my own. I will miss coming here when my business in Northallerton comes to an end 😊

Latte coffee (with extra shot) allegedly large but certainly only medium, small piece of mass produced poor quality cake....£9.05 !!!!! Massively over priced. Waited to be seated and waited to give my order while the member of staff who should have been serving me filled in her paperwork and chatted with staff. My coffee when it arrived was covered in coffee grounds and was undrinkable. I took it back and the woman who served me was very polite apologised and served me quickly with another one. I must say she was the ONLY staff member who showed any customer care at all. If you want over priced drinks and cake along with a poor attitude from staff then pay them a visit. Otherwise I suggest giving them a wide berth!!

Visited as a couple 7 March. We were staying in the hotel. Ambience was good. The eating area could perhaps do with a bit of updating but it is fine. Menu is a mix of pub classics and more adventurous dishes. I had one of the latter as a starter, Lamb Tagine Roll with harissa mayo and smoked aubergine purée. Very good. The roll had chunks of lamb and the mayo had a kick. Tasted and presented very well. I had steak and ale pie for main. Appeared home made with real chips. Again very good Mrs W had the pork belly which she enjoyed too. We had a very nice bottle of NZ Sav Blanc as well. Very good value.

We hebben net samen met vrienden voortreffelijk geluncht. Alle gerechten waren verrassend en super lekker. Is echt de (zeer korte) omweg waard.
