Since Patrick, the new landlord, arrived the place has gone downhill. Whilst the pub was a little rowdy at times before, Alan was a wonderful host. The pub is much more pleasant when Patrick isn’t there. He appears to think he’s better than his clients, evidenced by his tendency to sit with an imperious look upon his face. I will not be returning.

What a friendly atmosphere for a pub. First time in and it was so welcoming it was wonderful. Bar Manager and Ben the regular were absolutely lovely and so helpful and chatty. Only dropping a 🌟 because I only went out looking for some new ales and unfortunately there was only Bank's on in the Queen's. Great banter though. Absolutely recommended.

Dreadful experience. A girl was being thrown around by 3 grown men, and staff didn't bat an eyelid. Scared to go to the toilet on my own and when I did notices about using drugs were posted on toilet doors. Which I guess explains the clientele

Spending a couple of nights in the delightful little town of Stokesley we sampled all the pubs. On the first evening the Queens Head was closed but, fortunately we were able to sample it the following evening. First things to say are that we were made welcome and the service was very good. Our beers were also fine - and that’s the end of the positives. If I had to guess, I’d reckon that this is an underfunded and underperforming pub. You can excuse poor furnishings and scruffy decor in a privately owned pub where capital is limited. In a pub owned by a large brewery, such a lack of investment tells its own story. I have experience of Marston’s pubs and am aware that they are never prepared to invest in refurbs unless the profits of the pub hit a certain level. The problem with this approach is that if you keep changing bar managers and allow the decor of a pub to become scruffy, you will never attract enough people to make a difference. It’s all rather self-defeating really. The annoying thing is that with the size and layout of this pub and it’s central location, it clearly has huge potential as a modern bar. As it is - it’s going nowhere and, from a decor point of view, was easily the scruffiest pub in town. The people behind the bar were however very nice, as were the locals, and I can only wish them well. And, strangely perhaps, although this was technically the worst pub we visited, we stayed longer here than in any of the others. Purely down to the pleasure of chatting to the soon to be resigning bar managers and a couple of the local. And to the landlord’s wife - thanks for ramping up the jukebox with Pink Floyd’s “Wish you were here” and following on with my request for “Comfortably Numb”. What a great way to finish an evening out.

The Queens Head is a traditional pub with a good local clientele. The food we had was of a good standard and competitively priced although tea in teapots rather than mugs would be appreciated. It appeared to be a dog friendly establishment and everything was clean and tidy.

The Queen's Head's a great pub - sure it's not dressed up to be posh - and it has locals drinking their pints (which I like). It's just a perfect pub... a place you can go for great beer and meet really friendly people and is run by a fabulous landlord who will look after you. I travel the world but I always come back to the Queens' for a pint of (always superb) Pedigree and cheese and onion crisps - as good as going to Gordon Ramsey's at Claridges (sorry Gordon!)

If I could give no stars I would. Called in today 20thas May...ordered a pint of Pedigree which was cloudy and no head...has this fella ever pulled a pint before....in the yard area out the back...tab ends littered the floor. Bins were overflowing and the atmosphere was a little off putting. I'm no stranger to a rough pub butfb this place was terrible. Never again.

What can I say the land lady is drunk and always is, the husband wants to beat every one up and as for the kitchen staff well I sure won't be eating there. How do you go into a pub were the staff a more drunk then the customers. The pub is over run by kids it's a whole family affair ok they can also swear more than the punters. I went to the bar and it was if I was putting them out of a job after Friday night I will never return again. Absolutely DISGUSTING and the pub stinks don't think the believe in cleaning.

I can't believe what a little gem this pub is ! :) I ventured in here on a sunny day in town, and I was so surprised ! Im shocked I had missed this place! There was a homely atmosphere, typical pub decor with a quiet hum of K-pop in the background, showing how cultured the owners are ! Their daughter informed me of her favourite Korean band members, and the owners were so friendly ! I met their cutie doggo Fudge who gave me a warm welcome. Sat outside in the sun in their lovely beer garden which was so clean ! Idk what the others are on about, there were no dirty Ash Trays or Litter in sight! Lime and Soda was delicious and the Guinness was so tasty ! Yum ! Yum ! :) can't wait to come back again. What a lovely pub! 5 Stars From Me :) x x x

called in as they were offering fish& chips with mushy peas £10 for two .well landlord seemed ok took our money no problem .on arrival of cutlery first I noticed the fork was still dirty and had not obviously been washed correctly .as it had a bit of hardened potato on it .secondly when the meal arrived it was presentable ,until you bit into the homemade chips which were sodden in grease and very limp. the batter on the fish was crisp on the topside yet very soggy on the underside yet again with grease .the grease off the food was brown in colour as iff you:d fried sausages in a pan then an egg it was that colour .you needed the cup of tea to wash it down .the fish inside the batter was wet as iff it had been defrosted quickly then fried in dirty oil .yes I know I should have complained but whats the point in only one complaint .they would still continue to serve meals the same way better to post this so as to let more people know .shant go there again .

Me and my wife were staying at a hotel nearby and decided to venture out after our Friday evening meal and stumbled across this place. All looks fine from the outside until you step inside and encounter the clientele. I've been in a few bars which are rough and ready and don't have a problem with people swearing (guy's and lassie's), but just about everyone was at it including the bingo caller and the general tone was quite aggressive. This was like something out of the dark ages and it seemed compulsory to have a chip on your shoulder. Why can't people be themselves? Needless to say we only stayed for one drink. It's quite a shock to find a bar like this in Stokesley, as I was under the impression that, this was quite an affluent area, so my question is - where did this lot come from? No surprise then, that the police were outside this establishment later on that evening! On a positive note the drink prices are cheap and the Guinness is spot on, but I can't say I''l be back any time soon and certainly wouldn't recommend it.

Cafe Nero Thirsk has become a dirty, filthy Coffee shop, not worth visiting !!!! over the past 6 to 12 Months the standards have fallen so far, the only solution is to close it and completely refurbish it!!!! The Chairs and Tables are only fit for the Rubbish Dump!! The walls and floors are dirty and marked.!! The cleaning is very poor and not fit for purpose!!!! The customer toilet is not fit for purpose, it is filthy and certainly unhygienic. The filth around the Doorframe is a breeding ground for God knows what!!! Staff checks are a joke, and more times than not there is no Toilet Roll!!! The food choice isa boring and storage is suspect!!! Staff whilst friendly enough , do not appear to be interested in their workplace and how it looks to customers !!!!

Waitress was lovely, unfortunately the food was over priced, over seasoned and under cooked. The management didn't seem particularly bothered and I understand the regular cheff has left. Hopefully things will improve when they get a new one.

Great for a drink or four. Sunday roast is top notch with car parking at the rear and large public parking to the front and rear The Hotel is a historic inn located in the market town of Thirsk in North Yorkshire. It has a rich history, charming atmosphere, and traditional English character. The inn dates back several centuries and is said to be one of the oldest coaching inns in England. The Hotel is a popular destination for tourists looking to experience a bit of history.
